Greetings from the Winchester Medical Center’s ER. Wife and I tested positive for COVID, and I have some heart issues besides. Ah well, no one lives forever.
Progressives will use whatever nationality they think will help them get something for free. Barry Soetoro, Lizzy Warren and now Zohran. Yet they called a Hispanic a WHITE Hispanic because they didn't like that he protected himself from a black thug they tried to claim was a young black boy.
Last night a random pic from past travels showed up on my phone while it was at rest. It was of me on that same dock checking out a sailboat at anchor on lake Mendota. A minor key how coincidental...
Apple autocorrect (on a MacBook) is way too aggressive for my tastes. My writing never has typo's now, but I'm constantly using completely wrong words. Rather than a misspelled word, I'll post something and then notice that my meaning has been completely changed by Apple inserting words I never intended. I'd prefer a few obvious miskeys in my writing to having my words "corrected" to mean something completely different.
JRoberts: "Do you think the Founders had to "sweeten the deal" for Lisa Murkowski in their efforts to pass the Declaration of Independence?"
Maybe not for the Declaration, but the Founders certainly foresaw that Congress would be a cesspit of horsetrading. That's why they structured the Constitution to limit the damage.
For the first time in four years revisions to the monthly jobs numbers reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics are up.
Funny how they were always quietly revised down during the Biden administration, once the fake preliminary numbers had been loudly proclaimed from the rooftops.
just hopped off the scale.. today i weighed 240.5 lbs.. Which means i'm STILL an obese lardass. However, it's the lowest i've weighed since i can't remember. Three years ago, i weighed 374.4 Make America Healthy Again!
Big Mike Focus on what the doctors say to do. Modern medicine can be amazing. Also they have new protocols in hospitals and such, which are designed to increase "patient autonomy" so everyone is always asking permission and that can be surprising. "Do you feel like having an EKG?" What am I supposed to say? "Can't wait. Just don't use electricity." But the idea behind the protocols is kind of good and the people are all so conscientious and kind. Good luck.

Prayers ascending, but also some advice, which I hope is timely.
When I contracted C-19 about two years ago, our PCP advised the wife and me to rest, isolate, keep up fluid, etc. It worked for a week, but then, my case morphed into an opportunistic bacterial pneumonia. I was admitted to the hospital the Monday following. I did two things: - I refused to authorize intubation. - refused to sign the Final Directive. This tied the provider's hands, so they dosed me with steroids, remdesevir, and antibiotics. I received excellent care from the physicians and nurses, uneven but mostly good care from the support staff, and recovered after a stay of eleven days.
Whatever happens, take charge of your medical care.
@Big Mike: Get Well Soon to both you and your wife, and second the recommendation to take charge of your medical care
@Gilbar: Congratulations and may the pounds continue to fall away.
Happy Independence Day all ! 250 years ago we had just lost the Battle of Bunker Hill, but had inflicted serious harm to just about every British Officer involved in the fighting, and the siege of Boston continued, as George Washington rode to Boston to take command of the newly-formed Continental Army.
Be grateful, say a prayer & celebrate, treasure what you have, and be thankful that we speak American, not British !
When COVD hit us — on Tuesday — it hit both the wife and myself like a Mack truck. We’re being treated with Paxlovid (sp?) so should be back on our feet soon. The urgent care doctor sent me by ambulance to the Winchester ER because I was displaying hypotension — when my systolic gets much below 110 I get light-headed. Normally I present with mild hypertension, easily controlled with drugs. I’m going to have to see my cardiologist and figure out whether this is the new normal (replace drugs to lower blood pressure with drugs to raise it) or s temporary side effect of the COVID.
"Typo's" was entirely my own fault. I even momentarily thought about it as I was writing. I thought "typographical, yeah, I'm contracting it". So, no fault of Apple for that one.

Via Reddit: “Zohran Mamdani identified as a "black man" on his application to Columbia.” I thought he identified as mustard.

Lem: “Zohran Mamdani identified as a "black man" on his application to Columbia.”
Well he was born in Uganda, so, like Musk, he is literally African-American.
It is beautiful that he used that to overcome the Ivy anti-Asian bias, though.

It’s a great day to be an American! I haven’t felt this euphoric since Ronaldus Magnus sent the peanut farmer back to Plains, GA.
Trump is rolling up victory after victory over the befuddled lefties.
Happy 4th, people! AKA - No Kings Day!

Was the entire Biden administration fake, started with who was actually President. Makes you wonder.

The funny part is that it wasn't enough. He wasn't accepted even as a "black man".
That's super cool Gilbar. Very few people can manage to lose that sort of weight.
Good for you gilbar!! What an accomplishment. You should be very proud!!
Happy Un-Canada Day.
Old and slow: "Apple autocorrect (on a MacBook) is way too aggressive for my tastes. My writing never has typo's now"
Please inform Apple autocorrect that "typo's" should be "typos".

"This tied the provider's hands, so they dosed me with steroids, remdesevir, and antibiotics."

(One was tied to reimbursement level)
Just out of curiosity, Big Mike, did you and your wife get the jabs?
