I'm reading "Pam Bondi’s striking comments on arresting judges/Amid criticisms that the administration is intimidating judges, the attorney general didn’t exactly downplay the idea that this was part of a larger crusade against the judiciary" by Aaron Blake (in WaPo).
No one is above the law is what Trump antagonists said when the authorities arrested him. Four times.
I don't like the use of government authority as a political weapon or as a means of personal revenge, but that WaPo article doesn't get into the meat of what is alleged in the Wisconsin-judge case. Here's Pam Bondi explaining it (on ABC News):
"This case involved someone who was deported under President Obama came, back into our country... and he was living at a residence and he beat up a man so badly... then the girlfriend came in tried to break it up, he punched a woman in the face with a closed fist so hard she fell to the ground.... Both of them had to go to the hospital.... It's hard enough to get any victim of domestic violence to cooperate. We had two victims sitting in a courtroom that day. So what did this judge do that led to ICE coming in to make this arrest?... If you know they're going to be in a courthouse... they've gone through security. You know a defendant isn't armed it's a sterile daytime situation. It's routinely done in courthouses... so the ICE team was there.... The judge finds out that they're there to arrest him.... She comes outside the courtroom and is visibly angry, yelling, raising her voice to them. She directs them to go see the chief judge. So while they do that, she goes back in the courtroom gets back on the bench while a prosecutor is sitting there with two victims of domestic violence and tells the defense attorney and the defendant Ruiz to come in the back with her, She takes them in the back in a private area — this is appalling — through her chambers, lets them back out and leave. One of the DEA agents, I believe, sees them exiting and doesn't know what's going on. So she continues with her docket, finishes her docket, two victims sit in court all morning long, waiting. At the end, the prosecutors said 'What happened? Why didn't the case get called?' She removed it from the docket without telling anyone, had them go out a door to leave.... The ICE team — DEA, FBI have to chase him down, which is what is so dangerous, outside the courthouse, by an intersection. Pedestrians could have been killed, he could have been hurt, they could have been hurt. They catch him take him into custody. Those are the facts of the case."

"Nobody is abov ..." STFU.
Pam Bondi has a list of Epstein pedophiles sitting on her desk. She's protecting them from being identified and is protecting them from being arrested.
I don't see Pam Bondi arresting Donnie King, CEO of Tyson Foods, who ONLY hires illegals to work his chicken farms because he can pay them less than he'd have to pay American citizens to work in those jobs.
Pam Bondi is the problem in the United States. She needs to shut the f8k up.
"Article One?" I think he means Article II.
And here's a photo of "retired" judge Joel Cano flashing a gang sign with some illegal aliens who are also MS-13 terrorists.
It's funny to see professional douchebag Aaron Blake and the Washington comPost whine about "the above the law" meme when they happily slandered Nick Sandmann et. al.
Excess murder/abortion, rape/molestation, violent assaults, judicial indiscretion, and other affirmative actions of American Civil Liberties Unburdened. Fortunately, no "burden" was ripped out of lady liberty's hands to be sequestered for the sake of Special Peculiar Liberal Corporations, Democratic progress, and other purposes.
Many in Trump’s team have been warning about the risk of arrest and indictments for obstructing ICE for weeks. No sympathy here.
“that WaPo article doesn’t get into the meat of what is alleged in the Wisconsin-judge case”
No, it doesn’t—because the writer (Aaron Blake) is making a different point. He’s saying: Let’s stipulate the judge did what the government alleges. The AG could have said, “This is one bad judge, an aberration. When we find bad judges we will prosecute them, because no one is above the law. But we’re confident that the vast majority of our judges would not have behaved as this judge did.” The AG in fact said the opposite: she strongly implied that the Wisconsin judge’s alleged conduct is typical of judges generally: “What has happened to our judiciary is beyond me.” Blake is saying the AG is using the Wisconsin case as leverage to attack all the other judges, especially the federal ones, with whom the Trump Administration is in conflict. I think it’s a fair point. Assume the worst about the Wisconsin judge’s alleged conduct. What’s the evidence that her conduct reflects a pattern among judges nationally?
This woman, this judge, felt no obligation to enforce "The rule of law". Quite the opposite. She doesn't like immigration laws. So they don't count, and can be broken anytime she wants.
The Leftwing Judges, are out of control, and its good the AG is arresting a few. But it doesn't solve the problem, which is their almost unlimited power to do almost anything. These two cases were state/local judges. You wonder what the AG would do if Federal Judge had acted the same way. Probably nothing.
Judges are just like you and me. They just went to law school, and some politician appointed them to be a judge. Now they put on black robes and rule over us and tell the POTUS what to do.
Its crazy, its like we decided CPA's or Mechanical Engineers were going to be given unlimited power to overrule every elected official. Something must be done, but y'know...Republicans.
fresh new troll, with old material
If the WaPo and other leftists don't like (so far) mere discussion of a judge being charged with a felony offense based on the (so-far) disclosed facts, then they should push Congress to repeal the statute under which she'll be charged. This is, of course, the very same Congress that passed the law in the first place. PUT UP OR SHUT UP!
The media is all narrative - all the time.
Pam Bondi hasn't arrested Shelley Joseph. She's was a Massachusetts judge who literally helped an illegal alien avoid ICE by showing him out the back door of her private chambers.
She got indicted, but of course Joe Biden's DOJ dropped the charges.
There is nothing stopping Pam Bondi from arresting that judge and she hasn't done it. Just because Biden's DOJ dropped charges, doesn't mean Bondi cannot prosecute her.
If she had, this NEW judge doing exactly the same crimes might have thought twice about aiding and abetting the escape of an illegal alien.
It's the failure of Trump and Bondi to enforce our laws that is causing all of these problems.
Bondi didn't even require the new judge to post a bond. She's out on her own recognizance. It's bullshit. All "enforcement theatre."
Seth Tillman writes today on his New Reform Club blog about an Obama era case that's similar:
“A Massachusetts state court judge and a former court officer were charged by federal prosecutors Thursday with obstructing justice for allegedly preventing an immigration and customs officer from arresting an undocumented immigrant at a courthouse west of Boston last year."
Former Law Clerk, making the blog comment rounds this morning.
FLC, what's your evidence?
I'd like to know more about the judge (who resigned) who was harboring illegal gang members. who appointed him - and when?
as I noted before, it's not a swamp it's a minefield with tripwires,
BTW, its articles like this that destroy any credibility the WaPo/NYT's etc. have. Of course, the braindead leftists lap it all up, but most people understand that you cant trust the MSM to give you the facts - or objective news - just propaganda.
I"m suprised the WaPo didn't refer to the criminal, illegal alien, as a Milwaulkee man. Or a "Winsconsin resident".
Small correction to Questar: those are Tren d' Aragua not MS-13 posing with the judge in NM. Yesterday I misplaced him as a "Texas judge" so I sympathize with trying to keep up with all the gangster loving democrat activist Trump hating judges.
When the mother of a daughter who was murdered by illegals - was speaking at the white house - all the major media cut away. (except Fox)
The media narrative - is the same as the democrat party narrative. MS-13 - you are to pity!
Notice when Chris Van Holler(D) was in el salvador at the table - the MS-13 gang member kept his hands under the table.
His knuckles are tattooed with basic ms-13 gang symbols.
Wa-poo(D-soviet)
We have radical soviet media to contend with.
Are judges in WI and NM elected?
Not only did the Judge try to prevent the arrest by ICE, she summarily dismissed the domestic abuse case without notifying the prosecutor. Those actions alerted a victim witness specialist (vws), there for the abused victims, that something was going on with the perp. It was the vws that alerted the ICE agents that the perp was getting away.
well cano was a magistrate judge, so probably appointed,
like the fellow who signed off on the maralago warranted
due process, schmoo process,
Small correction to myself: Quaestor not Questar
Peachy, you think the wife-beating gangbanger was being disrespectful towards the Congresscritter or hiding his skull tattoos? Or both?
Why is any of this controversial? Democrat Judges, DAs and police chiefs routinely allow violent thugs to walk away, free to rape and murder again.
The Supreme court has done nothing to stop this, and won't.
yeah, the 'rule of law' is another BS legal phrase that means nothing. J6 people in jail, no trial, in solitary for years, and the left cheers.
When Dems are back in power, the legal system will again be used to destroy Trump, Musk and anyone who dares to speak up.
The system is beyond reform. It is rotten to its core.
Nothing of consequence will happen to any of these corrupt judges
It will take years for this system to deal with this judge, and thats the whole point. Obstruct Trump as long as possible, because 'proper procedures'.
"...It's the failure of Trump and Bondi to enforce our laws that is causing all of these problems...."
Progressive Democrat sensibilities, in a nutshell. Holler when they prosecute, holler when they don't. But never, never take responsibility for your own f*ckups.
"Bondi isn't arresting [insert name here] fast enough!" must have been the DNC talking point this week. I've seen it all over X and am not surprised to see it here, literally as a retort to a story about Bondi arresting someone. *chef's kiss*
Flores-Ruiz had previously been deported and entered again without permission. That's a felony, although usually, rather than tie up US courts and jails with such fact-sets, most are just removed again. But his judge knowingly allowed a felony suspect to evade agents while simultaneously trying to divert and delay ICE agents so their suspect might escape. That judge should be disbarred at the least, although that will never happen. Actions reasonably have consequences, and it's time the Feds started assessing those consequences.
its much like charlie brown's teacher at this point,
If she removed the case from the docket and didn't announce it that is pretty damning evidence against her. She should be removed from the bench, disbarred, and go to prison.
What about the perception created by not arresting judges and other powerful or connected people who commit crimes anyone else would be arrested for? Apparently that is what "Liberals" stand for now.
Mike wolf - I have no idea.
I just know the images and footage - the gang member's (oh I am sorry - I meant to say --- 'the delicate angelic Maryland family man!') were kept hidden under the table.
All that should matter is actions. What the Administration is doing is legal and popular, and what the judge did here is not and pretty bad, and she did it personally.
Read from the criminal complaint:
https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1915899682875969568.html
Normally judges should be expected to follow and uphold the law, but what about if a judge is feeling powerful emotions and knows in his or her heart they are a good person? Shouldn't they be able to do whatever they want on those occasions? I mean they're judges, right? Not regular people.
......"I think it’s a fair point. Assume the worst about the Wisconsin judge’s alleged conduct. What’s the evidence that her conduct reflects a pattern among judges nationally? "
How many immigration injunctions have been filed against this administration, against how many deportations? What is the number for the past 6 administrations?
How many injunctions have been dealt reversals or reprimands by higher courts for sloppiness or inappropriate action? The number ain't zero. The politicization of the courts predates the election, and was one of the driving issues, Lawfare against Trump as a tactic. The behavior continues, a corrupt betrayal of judicial fairness. Yet many still continue to hold hands over eyes, fingers in ears, saying 'la la la la', because of their political affiliations.
Can we be done with the whole "leans into" tic? It's become another way for journalists to put words in a subject's mouth.
FormerLawClerk? Probably the current barrista at your local Starbucks.
https://x.com/DougMackeyCase/status/1916110164605784437 well where would the chimps go without that cliche,
Speaking of corruption and Democrats' support of illegal aliens and human trafficking:
"Arizona Department of Agriculture employee accused of human smuggling" (Incident jeopardizes Gov. Hobbs’ pick to lead state agency)
https://www.azfamily.com/2025/04/25/arizona-department-agriculture-employee-accused-human-smuggling/
We want all 185,000 pages of law in the CFR enforced against any business, household, or government official who is a registered Democratic. We want them to receive a speeding ticket if they drive one mile per hour over the speed limit. We want the police on their tale until they get enough tickets to suspend their license and throw them in jail. We want their businesses bankrupted, their families destroyed, their lives exposed daily on the evening news. All damage completely through laws on the books. Laws they asked for. No one is above the law! As that wonderful 1950s song by Jill Jackson-Miler and Sy Miler wrote “Let the Inquisition Begin and Let Begin with Me.”
If ICE is not going to coordinate with the state officials inside the courthouse, ICE should be making these arrests outside. It’s a question of giving due respect to state sovereignty.
If it’s the state officials who won’t coordinate, ICE should still make the arrest on the street. That is what they were able to do here, and they only had to chase the guy they wanted to arrest because they weren’t in position to make the arrest on the street.
There are cases where it’s not in the interest of justice to deport someone who is facing a state criminal trial. If the person is facing charges of rape or murder, for example, deportation lets them get away with the rape or murder.
No one is above the law is what Trump antagonists said when the authorities arrested him. Four times.
Trump, along with all the other people we don't like, are NOT above the law, meaning that we can use the law against them any which way, anytime we want. The people we do like, however, ARE above the law. (Gotta have some standards.)
“What has happened to our judiciary is beyond me.”
Bondi is making a very important point here. It is well-known that there are corrupt judges. "From the crooked timber of humanity, no straight thing was ever made". But this is not someone doing political favors to get political favors, or prostituting her office for money. It appears this judge was fully prepared to move forward with judicial proceedings against this defendant, until she discovered that the federal government was preparing to arrest him, with good cause. At that point, she disrupted the proceedings of her own court in order to thwart that lawful arrest. She is not "corrupt", she is in open rebellion against the rule of law. What has happened to our judiciary is beyond me.
How many immigration injunctions have been filed against this administration, against how many deportations? What is the number for the past 6 administrations?
The Democrats say this flurry of flimsy injunctions that fly in the face of black-letter law is evidence of Trump's unique lawlessness, just as they love to contrast the "scandal-free" Obama administration with the number of Trump underlings who have been prosecuted as evidence that Democrats are made of finer clay than the rest of us.
This is of course arrant nonsense, and evidence for precisely the opposite. The Justice Department and every other organ of government was long ago infiltrated and conquered by the Gramscian far left, and used as a weapon against the enemies of the Democrat Party ever since.
Trump's primary contribution to American liberty will be the dismemberment of the Federal civil service and its monster surveillance state, which like its counterparts in Europe and Australia, has become one of the greatest menaces to human freedom that has ever existed.
We destroy these enemy scum now, or they will turn the whole planet into a giant gulag run by smug Dolores Umbridge types convinced that they are saving the world.
fresh new troll, with old material
I'm assuming this refers to NewYorker's comment?
I disagree - I think NewYorker is correct that the writer is trying to make the point that Bondi wants to use this case and the others that have come up recently to indicate (so to speak) the judiciary as a whole. Whether Bondi is actually doing that, I didn't know, but I think it's plausible that the writer wants to give that impression.
The thing I think is more interesting is that, just as the Left is having one heck of a time finding deportees who aren't violent offenders to Defend To The Death, they're also lionizing judges who do things that - at least in their* own reporting, make the judges appear not to care about the rule of law.
*In this usage, "their" refers to the overwhelmingly Leftist press
Further to my previous comment: I think the stat is that something like, what, 10%? 15%? of Democrats self-identify as progressive (or as I'm calling them, Leftist). I wonder what that stat is for journalists.
Is "lean in" "=" favor?
two of the judges, well cano is a magistrate popped up, through social media, and through their own courtroom actions,
If the facts alleged in the FBI affidavit are true, then Judge Dugan is guilty of at least two federal felonies. I don’t know what her defense is. Does she dispute the alleged facts? Does she have some legal theory as to why the federal law doesn’t apply? I’ve read everything I can find about this case and can’t find anything about her defenses.
As for Attorney General Bondi’s feeble attempt to smear all the judges in the US who have handed down legal judgments against the Trump Administration with Judge Dugan’s crime, well, it’s feeble.
"If ICE is not going to coordinate with the state officials inside the courthouse, ICE should be making these arrests outside. It’s a question of giving due respect to state sovereignty."
The above is the mentality and dishonesty we are dealing with. Had ICE a policy of arresting people as they entered the courthouse, Left Bank would be here writing comments that ICE should be respecting state authority and develop policies to arrest these people a minimum of 500 feet from a state building. The goalposts will always be moved.
New Yorker said:
"Assume the worst about the Wisconsin judge’s alleged conduct. What’s the evidence that her conduct reflects a pattern among judges nationally?"
It's not the first instance. There was Shelly Joseph in Massachusetts during the first Trump administration. Is this kind of action spreading? Better to nip it in the bud.
“A Massachusetts state court judge and a former court officer were charged by federal prosecutors Thursday with obstructing justice for allegedly preventing an immigration and customs officer from arresting an undocumented immigrant at a courthouse west of Boston last year."
Those charges were dropped by US Attorney Rachel Rollins. That judge has never faced justice for her crimes. A complaint was filed against her before the board of bar overseers in Massachusetts. The Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts is sitting on her case; refusing to even appoint a hearing officer to hear her case.
That judge - Shelley Joseph - is ABOVE the law.
She has been REINSTATED as a judge for the city of Boston.
US Attorney Rachel Rollins was forced to resign after having been found leaking DOJ documents, lying under oath, Hatch Act violations and receiving bribes from CAA.
She wasn't prosecuted either.
It's corruption all the way down.
But rather than just focus on those two cases, Bondi repeatedly talked as if they were part of a broader problem with the judiciary.
Isn'tit though? With the crooked Wisconsin judge, I was surprised to see it was just now. I could have sworn there were a couple cases of judges trying to obstruct federal law enforcement by concealing illegal aliens in their chambers during the first Trump administration, and thought this was a tardy prosecution for one of those incidents. They need to get some convictions on the board for this kind of misconduct, pour encourager les autres.
"“What has happened to our judiciary is beyond me.”
Is it really a stretch to read this as the instant cases as well as the context of the multiple District Court judges issuing nation wide injunctions?
I asked the internet the number of judges in the United States and the answer came back "The United States has approximately 48,500 judges, magistrates, and other judicial workers."
I'll go out on a limb here and assume that "judicial workers" means government officials with adjudicative authority as opposed to, say, the guy who takes care of the courtroom water pitchers. And I'll go out on a limb and assume that number is about right for a country with a population of 342 million.
48,500. So I'll leave it at that.
Why "actually"? Is it so hard to believe that previous administrations have so messed up the immigration and legal system and that things have to be put right now.
Yes, transcripts of broadcasts come without paragraphing, but if only there were someone at Blog Central with the vision, the daring, and the sentence diagramming powers to take action and make them more readable ...
It doesn't look good for the judges. It's not a priesthood. True story. A soil drilling worker I knew said to get his green card, he had to give a federal judge a substantial bribe. Maybe $10K. Anyhow, one might think that the cartel gang terrorist billionaires are buying judicial rulings, especially in border states. No doubt the New Mexico ex-judge is getting a detailed forensic financial probe.
NB, the Judge that my drilling colleague allegedly bribed was in San Francisco.
"'What has happened to our judiciary is beyond me,' Bondi said...."
It's actually very simple, these judges are doing whatever they want. They feel unconstrained by the law. If this is to change, they have to be held to account.
For those who think that ICE should have to wait outside and chase down these suspects, isn't that irresponsibly dangerous to the public, the officers and the suspect? What if he ran to you, carjacked you, ran you over, and went on a high speed chase that killed a few people? Is that something you think is worth risking? There are millions of these who need deporting.
Maybe Bondi's message about the judiciary is directed at Roberts. He has long been perceived as someone who worries about the public perception of the courts and even sometimes rules with that foremost in his mind.
Bondi and her boss would like Roberts to define the due process required for deporting illegal aliens sooner rather than later. Maybe she see this as an opportunity to put some pressure on Roberts.
Bob Boyd,
What Bondi and Trump should really do is to reveal (presuming they can find out) what it is that the deep staters have on Roberts. I think the public deserves to know what is informing his decisions.
Hey ! My comments are getting removed ! Is the SPAM folder acting up again ?
Roberts has close relationships with Trump haters. That's mostly it, and that's apparently enough. Judges have no greater ethics than the average person. I mean where would they even get them. Law school is not like some Shaolin temple. It's sitting around reading, studying and writing. There are no red hot brands or beatings to survive. Then you get out and it's more of the same but with accolades, free dinners, and trips. What trains your soul?
Douglas B. Levene: As for Attorney General Bondi’s feeble attempt to smear all the judges in the US who have handed down legal judgments against the Trump Administration with Judge Dugan’s crime, well, it’s feeble.
Interesting--Neither Bondi nor Roberts made any reference to "all the judges in the US who have handed down legal judgments against the Trump Administration," yet you and Aaron Blake made precisely that inference. And then accused Bondi of "appearing to lean in" to the inference that you both made up.
Your pattern recognition skills are oddly unidirectional.
Left Bank of the Charles said...
Then why did you let them in the country illegally?
As forgotten Georgia politician, Bo Ginn, once wisely observed: " A judge is just a lawyer who knows the governor. "
I predict that the WI judge's lawyer will claim some kind of innovative 'due process' defense.
The judge will claim immunity. Were her actions in performance of her duties?
I have never seen a judge invite a defendant into chambers. This is not a normal practice. I saw one report describing that back door that was used was for jurors. In my experience, jurors always leave through the front, courtroom doors. Maybe in the case of a sequestered jury, an alternative exit might be employed. The limited use of this back exit is for the judges only. Clearly the judge granted a special privilege to one special defendant. The case disappeared off the calendar without being recalled. The prosecutor was kept out of the ex parte proceedings and was not invited into chambers, which is at the minimum an ethical violation. This is all outside the normal functioning of a criminal court judge.
This is not a case for qualified immunity. Of course the media will make the judge into a hero.
bagoh2o,
"Roberts has close relationships with Trump haters. That's mostly it, and that's apparently enough"
It is actually not enough, because Roberts was like this pre-trump. See: Obamacare.
“ I have never seen a judge invite a defendant into chambers. This is not a normal practice”
Actually happened to me. I was in court for a traffic ticket, dressed like a lawyer. Or maybe the judge had seen me at an (CO) 1st JD luncheon. Everyone else was dressed much more casually - some in T shirts and shorts. My case comes up, and I’m up there pro se. For some reason, the judge invited me and the prosecutor back into his fancy new digs. We sat back there and BSed for most of a half hour, with a full courtroom.
Jefferson County, west of Denver, had just built a new county administration and court house. It’s locally called the “Taj Mahal”. It is rather striking, and can be seen for miles around. The East wing has normal courthouse security, while the west wing, is unsecured. In any case, this judge’s big beef was that his chambers had inadequate outside lighting, and dark paneling. He asked what the designers of the building thought that judges mostly did in chambers. His answered that they spent most of their time there reading, and that the building designers would have had a hard time making that harder. And he was right.
For some reason, the judge invited me and the prosecutor back into his fancy new digs.
Inviting both parties avoids ex parte discussions. This WI judge didn’t show such respect to judicial norms.
What’s the evidence that her conduct reflects a pattern among judges nationally?
Apparently, you haven't been paying attention.
Left Bank if you actually read ANYTHING OTHER THAN LEFTIST MEDIA you would already know that the agents approached the security in the courtroom before anything happened. They said after the case is over, they were going arrest this illegal in the hallway. That is a public space and they are allowed to proceed with their action in the public spaces. You just blather, stupid bullshit, talking points and you look like a fool.
the agents approached the security in the courtroom before anything happened. They said after the case is over, they were going arrest this illegal in the hallway
So, due process was interrupted by the judge by her choice.
"We sat back there and BSed for most of a half hour, with a full courtroom."
I wonder how many of those waiting on the judge had to take a day off work to be there that day and (unlike the judge) weren't getting paid while he BSed for most of half an hour.
If you (in general, not directed at anybody in specific) want people to respect the system and the law, well- this is one way not to go about doing it.
“ I have never seen a judge invite a defendant into chambers. This is not a normal practice”
Actually happened to me. I was in court for a traffic ticket ....
I forgot to mention the traffic ticket exception to the rule.
"It is actually not enough, because Roberts was like this pre-trump. See: Obamacare."
Agreed. Before Trump some other Republican was Hitler, and Today's Trump haters had stuff to do before 2016, then Trump gave them focus.
The Democratic precedents are to hunt them down, extort confessions, and deny them due process until they are no longer deemed a "burden".
“I have never seen a judge invite a defendant into chambers. This is not a normal practice”
Dear Penthouse Forum....
JSM
Duggan is a part of the crop of judges we can thank DEMOCRAT groomer generator, Ben Wikler, for.
Let us remember, Milwauke gave us such wonderful judges alongside Duggan such as,
1)DEMOCRAT convicted pedophile Brett Blomme who used his judges chamber to distribute child pornography depicting children being raped and sexually tortured.
2)The hitherto unnamed (wonder why....) DEMOCRAT judge who helped DEMOCRAT John T. Chrisholm let Darrell Brooks murder grandmas in Waukesha.
Also of mentioned is DEMOCRAT city attorney and HR DEI hire Adam Westbrook, recently convicted of creating child pornography subjecting children to bestiality.
Boy, Wikler and the DEMOCRATS sure know how to pick them...
'They’ll say this is a government that is expanding the powers of the Article One of the Constitution, now they’re arresting judges
I think it's interesting that the "reporter" thinks that the President is in Article One.
And rogue state judges aren't protected by Article Three.
If you're going to argue the Trump administration is violating the Constitution, you ought to read it and know what it says. Don't talk about judges like they are mystics who are above the rest of us.
What’s the evidence that her conduct reflects a pattern among judges nationally?
All the arrests and prosecutions of Trump for committing scores of felonies? It was a blatant joke, from day one. It was all phony, all designed to keep him out of the White House. Bad enough that prosecutors tried that shit. What was really unspeakable is that judges went along with it.
On a smaller level, the judges are still doing it. They're not arresting Trump. They can't do that. But they are continually calling him a criminal and ordering him to stop.
The general consensus that I’m summarizing from the Dem talking points is that the judge was protecting the illegal from non-due process.
This is the only thing the Dems have - somehow, the illegals must be allowed to stay in the country until they have gone through the regular process, as if they just shop-lifted a bottle of coke.
Do democrats advocate getting rid of all port-of-entry immigration checks/passport control? It seems like they are.
Left Bank, what part of 'ICE agents routinely detain people when they are in court because metal detectors and the presence of other armed guards minimizes the possibility of pedestrians and others being endangered if the suspect is out on the streets and possibly armed' don't you get?
Anyone else here think "Former Law Clark" is really some guy who fantasizes about a legal education he didn't get?
He says, "She [ a Mass. judge who helped an illegal escape] got indicted, but of course Joe Biden's DOJ dropped the charges.".....
[But] "There is nothing stopping Pam Bondi from arresting that judge and she hasn't done it. "...
[Therefore] "It's the failure of Trump and Bondi to enforce our laws that is causing all of these problems."
With an "analysis" like that, I suspect FLC couldn't reason his way out of a Chinese Finger Puzzle.
He sounds like a character on "Night Court".
The problem, which Althouse seems to be ignoring, is that judges are becoming scofflaws, and have been allowed to get away with it. These judges are breaking the law, and the DoJ needs to prioritize going after those who are supposed to be setting the example. The next step needs to be holding them for months without access to due process, pour encourage les autres.
