President Trump and Elon Musk vouch for each other's goodness.

On Fox News, in the presence of a mumbly, inert Sean Hannity:

At 1:05:
MUSK: I think President Trump is a good man. The President has been so unfairly attacked in the media. It's really outrageous. At this point I've spent a lot of time with the President and not once have I seen him do something that was mean or cruel or wrong. Not once....
At 6:10:
TRUMP: I respect him. I've always respected him.... He did things that were so advanced and nobody knew what the hell they were. I can tell you in North Carolina... he got thousands of [StarLink] units... and saved a lot of lives.... We watched the rocket ships.... Something that had an effect was when I saw the rocket ship come back and get grabbed like you grab a beautiful little baby.... I wanted somebody really smart to work with me.... When he talks about executive orders.... You write an executive order and think it's done. It doesn't get implemented... He takes [the executive order] and with his hundred geniuses — he's got some brilliant young people working for him that dress much worse than him, they dress in T-shirts — he gets it done.... In real estate, you had guys that would draw beautiful renderings on the buildings... but they were never able to get it built... He said when you sign these executive orders, a lot of don't get done... and he would take that executive order... and he would have those people to whatever agency it was — When are you doing it? Get it done! Get it done! And some guy that maybe didn't want to do it, all of a sudden....

It is a rare thing to see public mutual admiration, and even more so given that the Media has been relentless in painting both as narcissists who "couldn't share the spotlight." They seem very comfortable sharing. Almost as if it comes naturally.

Do Democrats have any officeholders or major figures who act naturally in interviews? Or ever?

Thinking comes very hard for Hannity. He talks...very...slow... and the hard hitting content is rare. Usually, he just safe, Republican talking points. that's why he's still on Fox, and Tucker is gone.

As an interviewer of Trump, that's a plus. After non-stop debates from MSM Reporters, full of "gotcha" questions, its nice to be able to hear Musk and Trump just answer an objective question.

I've always found Hannity's shows (radio and TV) unwatchable/unlistenable when he's not interviewing someone. He repeats himself, says nothing the RNC wouldn't approve of, and likes to list things and go "Wow, just wow" when discussing some Democrat outrage. Favorite topics: How great Israel is, cutting business regulations, the greatness of the free market, needing more defense spending, Climate change, and Gun control.

And oh, those crazy, comical Democrats! Did you hear the lastest? Wow, just wow.

It's hilarious that Trump has so much good to say about the DOGE workers but has to say they don't wear suits. Deadpan.

Musk's influence on Trump is a double edged sword. But Trump has finally found the "Smart, pragmatic" bussinessman he was looking for in his first term. Musk has his own big ego, but he's an outsider too, and he has no desire to be loved by the Establishment, which is what Rex Tillerson and others in the first term wanted.

Its probably because Musk isn't just a Corporate Exec, he's a tech guy, and super-smart. BTW, It seems that in Defense policy Trump has learned his lesson, and no longer puts "Tough smart Generals" in charge. As shown by Kelly, Mattis, and Milley, these "Tough Generals" just want to be loved by the uniparty and have zero creative thinking skills. They also have big egos and act like Drama queens.

RCOCEAN II म्हणाले...

Trump is definitely old-school when it comes to business dress. No blue jeans and T-shirts on the Trump Corporate execs. I doubt they even have casual fridays.

How did the surveillance state miss what these two, and BTW, I also think that Orbán was in on it, what these guys were planning at Mar a Lago?

How did British Military Intelligence, which did so much to undermine Trump in 2016, miss this?

All I can say is CRY MOAR! Maybe the deep state will win in the end, maybe the endless war faction, which Kaki does such yeoman work defending, will win. But this is a hill worth dying on.

Jaq म्हणाले...

Trump must have a SCIF equivalent at Mar a Lago.

MaxedOutMama म्हणाले...

For people who don't like either of these two, presumably the distaste will transfer to the other.

I really do not like either, esp. Musk. But still I broadly support Trump's admin and their current initiatives. I'm stuck with the reality that the country is in a bad fiscal way, and trying to readjust for a survivable fiscal future will bring pain to many - but will avoid much greater future pain to far more.

This process will not be pleasant. It is necessary. Life sucks at times. We all have to grow up and deal with that truth.

Randomizer म्हणाले...

In 2018, when Musk first appeared on Joe Rogan's podcast, he explained how he is a problem-solver, and his mind is always racing with solutions. He has to decide what ideas will do the most good. That's how he ends up with SpaceX, Neurolink, Tesla and the rest.

Trump is decisive and has a long list of critical problems that need to be solved to benefit Americans. Trump-Musk is a synergistic partnership. There is no inherent conflict between them.

Journalism attracts people who want to be seen and heard, without needing the ability to create anything tangible. It's not surprising that they wouldn't understand two exceptional people who imagine and implement big ideas.

I think Trump added that because (a) it was funny, and he is a really good deadpan comedian, and (b) he knows some in the media have been objecting to Musk's team on the (ad hominem) basis that they are roaming the sacred halls of our shadow government in tee-shirts, and this is Trump's way of saying that he knows and finds it acceptable.

"Get it done!"

THIS!!!
There are always a million reasons why something can't get done. Leaders like Trump and Musk don't take "It can't be done" as an answer.
One reason that our government is so screwed up is that the politicians keep telling us they are trying to do things that really "can't be done" (end poverty, make everybody smart and educated, end racism) while accepting the proposition that relatively simple but hard things like accounting for and controlling spending "can't be done."
Enough BS.

Care to provide a direct quote, or do you just prefer these imprecise smears that allow the reader to use his imagination, because what Trump or Musk is actually saying won't be seen by normal Americans in the same light that you see it.

You advocate for "American Primacy" by military means and the use of USAID for regime change operations to create the situation that control of the White House is control of the entire globe, and Trump and Musk are not that concerned about giving billionaire oligarchs across the globe the our treasure and put the lives of our sons and daughters in the military at their disposal in order to pursue their interests.

Quaestor म्हणाले...

What's the difference between Trump and Musk publicly vouchsafing mutual admiration and respect, and Biden (and every other Democrat officeholder) heaping praise on Kamala Harris, who in turn, praises Joe Biden to the extend she cannot think of any Biden decision? (As if there were any during his presidency more consequential than whether to have mint chocolate chip ice cream or butter pecan.)

One could say there's little difference at all, both situations are sincere and politically useful, but that would be less than insightful. Trump and Musk are probably sincere. There's no strategic reason that they should like each other. Having a mutual dedication to a shared goal is enough. Many great and historic projects have been completed by groups of men with little love lost between them. The rivalry between Patton and Montgomery was occasionally quite bitter, however their duty compelled them to oppose and defeat the same enemy. Furthermore, Elon Musk is remarkably guileless. He is unrestrained and blunt in his speech, a trait his foes have viciously tried to use against him. If he disliked or disrespected Trump, Musk would have blurted that out long ago. Trump, on the other hand, has guile and craft in superabundance. If you are someone Trump seeks a deal with, you can be assured he will like and admire you, perhaps sincerely, perhaps strategically. Only time will tell.

However, the profuse praise and approbation heaped at the feet of Kamala Harris was almost certainly nothing but lies. If the leading Democrats who promoted her campaign last fall actually liked and admired her, then why could she not have at least one delegate pledged to her in the 2020 DNC? One delegate is politically meaningless, but could be a polite and charitable gesture toward a good and faithful woman, and by the absurd and pusillanimous rules the Democrats follow in selecting their candidates the leadership was fully empowered to grant Harris a delegate or two regardless of her meager support among the voters. Nevertheless, she accepted Biden's VP offer without any political support of her own. She served as a do-nothing, acid-tongued bungler without the common sense to make a visit to the southern border even once to at least appear to faithfully execute her duties as Border Czarina. Harris as VP only harmed Joe Biden, therefore she was justly despised by the Democrats until their stupidity made it financially impossible for Harris to be replaced on the ticket. Therefore the I Heart Kamala landslide of lies.

Trump has a lightning rod in Musk, who can take essentially any outrage from the opposition with aplomb, mostly by ignoring it all. And Musk has a boss in Trump, who grants the authority (ambiguous though it remains) and accepts the responsibility. This makes it harder to Alinsky their actions, as they can't be simultaneously isolated, frozen, attacked, ridiculed, etc., without great effort that hasn't yet occurred on the part of the opposition. And while they sit with Hannity, their minions in t-shirts go about the business of looking into every department for opposition to Trump, malicious compliance against Trump, slow-walking executive orders, self-serving use of funds, and so on.

And every so often, Trump or Musk or the Press Secretary says to everyone, public, press, opposition, "Look, a squirrel!" And a $20billion EPA to NGO slush fund is exposed and clawed back, while Dems keeps trying to scream against this information and looks like fools for doing so.

1. Comments on YouTube are 100% positive. So much affection for Trump and Musk.
2. In the Rogan interview, when they were talking about athletes, my take away was that Trump looked at athletic events to gage how other men acted under extreme pressure. I’ve noticed that when men in leadership positions talked about the moment they really began to support Trump they talked about his Fight, Fight, Fight reaction. That moment really (in my opinion) is a big factor in the affection and protective nature of all the men on the Trump team. Whether Musk or Rubio or Vance or RFK or anyone else I’ve heard, they all defend Trump. So different from Trump’s first term.

1. You’ve made so many comments disparaging “conspiracy theories” but in this instance, you’re promoting the theory that there might have been an agreement to murder a Trump follower and graze Trump’s ear (+ severely injure 2 other Trump supporters). Why wouldn’t Trump be worried that a supposed fake attempt would actually be a plot to enact a real event?
2. You don’t seem to be able to admit that there’s a possibility that a man with whom you have fundamental disagreements could also be a brave man.

I do not believe Trump is a brave man. I do believe he is a narcissist and sociopath, a person with no real (or severely limited) feeling, other than anger and resentment when thwarted and glee when his scams succeed. Thus, I don't think he really felt anything at the instant and the moments following when the bullet grazed his ear (or whizzed by it, as the case may be). I'm being purposely provocative for my own amusement in hinting the assassination attempt was staged, and I don't say I believe it was, in fact, I lean toward thinking it was genuine,but...it was a very odd incident, also that his ear seemed utterly free of any apparent injury remarkably swiftly. Also, it was very odd the Secret Service agents didn't tackle him and sit on top of him to protect him, but let him get up to pump his arm, exposing himself to further potential danger.

Ah, well. It's a weird world, not least that so many see this little creep as an admirable and honest man.
