Iman. My dad could not stop himself from repeating the same dad joke. (I'm late 60's)

When a big juicy bug, like fat June bug, that made a noticeable noise. Dad would say "bet he doesn't have the guts to try that again."

So did anyone ever figure out what that periscope-like object was in the second (5:39) picture from the May 6th sunrise?

This is handy when you want to post a link, and include an incredible description.

I keep a few in word document. delete url, and paste link address between url quotes. replace title with your description.

Caught a 38” Jack Cravelle today on a Vanford 4000 and a St Croix 8’ Seage. With braid and a 1 1/2 0z spoon the whole combo didn’t weigh one pound. Amazing tackle and my hands HURT. Just brutal awesome fish.

These days, when I want to purchase a very particular object -- let's say, a G2 Pilot gel pen -- I go to E-Bay. And I look for the pen I want, at the lowest price. This is how a free market is supposed to operate, and E-Bay was designed to extend that paradigm to the largest possible number of participants.

But I find myself asking, Why is Agent X offering the product I desire at a price quite a bit lower than the price Agent Y is offering? The obvious answer is that Agent X stole the item, and therefore has much lower costs than Agent Y.

Now, the difficulty here, is more profound than might at first appear. In a functioning market, by taking the lowest price, I reward the most efficient producer. But in a corrupted market, where the law of property has been eliminated by the likes of F. Joe Biden and Gavin Noisome, I am rewarding the most efficient thief. Indeed, I have begun to suspect that whenever I get a "good deal" on E-bay, I am buying fenced goods. What is my moral and ethical position, if that is true? Shouldn't I abandon E-bay altogether?

The word is out that Judge Aileen Cannon has been given several free ride vacations at Sage Lodge, a $1,000 per night luxury resort on 1,200 acres alongside the Yellowstone River just outside Yellowstone National Park, in Pray, Montana - likely worth $10 grand a pop traveling first-class while spending on all the fun things to be done at the lodge. As an excuse for the grand spending, she and other Federalists "attended" a seminar.

Now we know that Leonard Leo and his Federalist Society with a little help from the infamous billionaire friends of the Society have paid for the trips. The thing is, Judge Cannon failed to file a Privately Funded Seminar Disclosure Report, which lists whoever paid for the judge to attend the seminar, who the speakers were, and what topics were discussed. The form is supposed to be posted on the website of every federal court within 30 days of the time a judge attends such an all-expenses-paid seminar.

So Cannon's latest action to delay the Trump stolen document trial indefinitely should get her and hubby an all-expense-paid trip around the world.

One of my favorite movies is Charade with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. It’s said to be the best Hitchcock film not directed by Hitchcock (Stanley Donen directed) with the best Saul Bass title sequence not created by Saul Bass (Maurice Binder designer)
I’ve always been surprised to find it in the discount bins of dvds for $1.99.
Today I found out something that is very hard for me to believe:
“The 1963 film Charade is in the public domain in the United States because its initial release omitted a copyright notice. The film does include the notices "MCMLXIII BY UNIVERSAL PICTURES COMPANY, INC" and "STANLEY DONEN FILMS, INC. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED", but it doesn't include the word, symbol, or abbreviation for Copyright. Before 1978, this omission was enough to void the rights to the film and allow it to enter the public domain.”
OMG

"Penn State’s Board of Trustees will hold a meeting on May 21 to vote on approving the Beaver Stadium renovation plan. Penn State announced its architect and construction manager for the multiphase Beaver Stadium renovation project last fall. The estimated cost for the stadium renovation is $700 million. Gag me.

Also, can anyone explain what was going on in that exchange yesterday between Vice President Harris and reporters? In the clip I saw, a reporter begins to yell out a softball question about the Hamas cease fire offer, and Harris responds by saying “Shrimp and grits, that’s what you asked.” And she apparently points towards her purse. What’s up with that?

Scary that she’s one octogenarian’s heartbeat from occupying the Oval Office.

College football and mens basketball supports all the sports. Including the intermurals, and of course a portion of the music budget.
Iowa and now Penn State, have hugely successful Wrestling dynasties (insert here the sillyness about over paid coaching. Both of these the BEST because of coaching)
But those Wrestling dynasties could not break even. The Money is in TV. Just ask the WNBA about that. Some rookie is learning up all the pros about TV

@iowan2. Oh I get it. Football pays the bills. But we've lost sight of the mission. As a PSU grad as is my son and grandson, I think $700 mil is a bit much, especially since PSU is facing significant budget cuts. How about we separate the football program from the university and call it an NFL farm team? Then we don't have to worry about illiterate players maintaining their eligibility.

Big Mike, we might have to check with Salon to figure out who is paying for the vacation of the judges on the appeals court. Alas, wouldn't they have to find a DA in another county willing to take on the case?
