"Saudi Arabia's First Male Robot Touches Female Reporter, Sparks Outrage."

Headline at NDTV.
During its introduction at DeepFest, Muhammad, the first bilingual male Saudi Arabia-made humanoid robot, declared, "I am Muhammad, the first Saudi robot in the form of a man. I was manufactured and developed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a national project to demonstrate our achievements in the field of artificial intelligence."
This isn't just a case of special Saudi Arabian standards of keeping men and women apart. The Muhammad robot grabs her by the buttock:

Looks like Disney animatronics, only worse.

She was asking for it.

Kate म्हणाले...

Just a pat, ma'am. The hand would need to flex for a grab or pinch.

Or she was invading his personal space. A nudge to get her to back off.

That was hilarious.

Muhammad may have wanted to shake hand + reporter positioned wrong place way

does this mean you can make a likeness of Prophet?

It's got "Game". Chateau Heartiste nods approvingly.

I'm with Limited, it is like the old Hall of Presidents-era robotics. Crude. And I'll add that "grabs her by the buttock" is quite exagerrated. More like "barely taps her buttock" IMO.

MadisonMan म्हणाले...

"Sparks outrage" Okay. I think a little overstating to say the robot grabbed her buttocks. From my view, it raised its arm and she was standing too close.

Number 5...is alive!

At least he didn't go for the dude. That would have really ruffled their keffiyehs.

I'd have been more impressed if he'd raised his hand to sniff his fingers.

Yeah. There's a Mohamed somewhere in the background with a radio controller and a joystick, if you ask me.

He's a crazy, mixed-up kid, that robot, but I like him.

The masculine robot is transphobic, obviously. Next time touch the male's buttocks.

Muslims are given explicit instructions/permission - by Big Mo himself - that they can touch/rape non-Muslims women (includes robotic derivatives) and treat them as booty/slaves. That instruction was carried out to the letter, using Big Mo's love letter, the Qur'an, in the October 7th blood bath/lust by the Muslims.

I thought if it was a presstitute they let you grab them?

I thought Islam forbade the creation of human likenesses? My guess is that that robot is actually a guy in makeup.

the first bilingual male Saudi Arabia-made humanoid robot

That is a pretty highly qualified "first."

Less creepy than the animatronic Biden-bot that keeps sniffing young girls' hair.

Except that it turned its wrist to make contact with the palm side of the fingers. It sensed something there and was intentionally making contact.

Yancey Ward म्हणाले...

The situation was handled in the normal way- the woman was stoned to death.

C'mon man, how could it not?! (Pretty large target.)

I thought the same thing. I'm assuming like many religious prohibitions it is frequently only observed by the conservative, but isn't Saudi Arabia supposed to represent conservative Islam? I am not certain of the authoritativeness of this, but here is something I found that supports the idea of that prohibition, and even makes it seem that the creation of an AI governed robot would be even worse.

I.The prohibition on statues is not just the matter of fiqh; it goes beyond that to the matter of ‘aqeedah, because Allah is the Only One Who has the power of giving shape to His creation and creating them in the best image. Making images implies that one is trying to match the creation of Allah.

Thousands of women in Saudi Arabia are still being punished with torture, rape, murder, acid attacks, and lifelong imprisonment for using the internet to protest the treatment of women, or not wearing appropriate clothing, or angering their male relatives, who are rarely charged or go free soon after killing their sisters, nieces, aunts, and even mothers. So rhhardin is correct: this is the woman's fault. And she maybe punished severely for it.

Maybe Doritos can then make the male robot their spokesperson.

During its introduction at DeepFest, Muhammad, the first bilingual male Saudi Arabia-made humanoid robot, declared, "I am Muhammad, the first Saudi robot in the form of a man."

So- the robot states that it was created "in the form of a man", but the reporter calls it a "male robot"?

Sounds about right.

JAORE म्हणाले...

If you are a Saudi robot they let you grab 'em by the azz.

At least he didn't ask her to open the pod bay doors.

Temujin म्हणाले...

Are we sure it's not a human made up to look like a robot.
I hear hiring humans who look and act like robots are all the rage.

I'm waiting until we get robots that move like humans who were made up to look like robots that were developed to replace humans. I'll buy one of those.
