"Less than two weeks before Donald J. Trump is set to go on trial on criminal charges in Manhattan, the prosecutors who brought the case proposed a delay of up to 30 days..."

"... a startling development in the first prosecution of a former American president. The Manhattan district attorney’s office, which accused Mr. Trump of covering up a sex scandal during and after the 2016 presidential campaign, said the delay would give Mr. Trump’s lawyers time to review a new batch of records. The office sought the records more than a year ago, but only recently received them from federal prosecutors, who years ago investigated the hush-money payments at the center of the case...."

They're returning the checkbook that Trump is accused of lying to.

So why did the Feds delay?
I need some good conspiracy theories.

Every single charge they have brought against Trump is based on novel, tortured, unprecedented interpretations of the law, obviously tailor-made just for his prosecution, and in my opinion amounts to a government-wide conspiracy to punish him with a Bill of Attainder by another name.

Congressmen of both parties have a massive slush fund full of tens of millions of taxpayer dollars earmarked for paying off all the bimbos they have not just screwed consensually, but raped and sexually harassed. Hundreds of hush-money payments and secret non-disclosure agreements have been financed by this fund over the past few decades, but Congress resolutely refuses to tell us where our money is being spent.

Then when Trump uses his OWN money to do the same, it's suddenly prosecuted as an illegal campaign contribution, which to my knowledge has never been done before.

These evil people are the most powerful enemy this country has ever faced. The Ku Klux Klan, the Mafia, or the Cali Cartel at the heights of their power and influence could not do what these so-called "public servants" are doing to the fabric of this country. They are the modern equivalent of the scheming court eunuchs and viziers and Praetorian Guard that ran the Roman Empire into the ground. They do this to Trump today, but what will they do to the rest of us tomorrow? We cannot tolerate this sedition and insurrection by our own hired help for even one more year.

Every day I grow more certain that nothing would save this country but the most drastic and irreversible steps to smash the Federal government--particularly the Justice Department and the intelligence agencies--into thousands of tiny bits to be scattered in the wind, as Kennedy said, shortly before he was assassinated. Trump is the only man I see on the national stage who can do it. I'll follow him across the Rubicon, if it comes to it.

Perhaps they should just call the whole thing off.

Judge Jeannine, on The Five, explained this is all about discovery. Her analysis, The feds looked a prosecuting this payment. ALL those records are discovery. The law requires all discovery is to be in the defendants hands within 3 weeks of arraignment. Judge Jeannine says the failure is an automatic termination of the case.

She says this a huge deal. Not that the case was ever going to get to a jury.

Apparently all these docs needed to be in the defense’s hands within 15 days after indictment, per Judge Jenine. This case is toast. Or should be.

Hear, hear! What Hassayamper said! These evil people have wicked intent for us and they've left us no peaceful and lawful way to address our concerns and correct their crimes.

Need to prepare the MCC for Trump’s incarceration.

Trump will be convicted by a NYC jury. Just look what they did in the EJ Carroll case.

He gets sent to jail and the MAGA crowd breaks him out. Chaos!

BTW, the FBI, CIA and the Rand Corporation have run computer war games on what happens once Trump is jailed.

Just for clarity, Bragg had nothing to do with this. It appears to be a weird assist from the US (federal) DA. Bragg had requested these documents more than a year ago and the feds denied his request. He had no power to compel them. If I understand correctly Trump’s attorneys made a similar request in January 2024 and the feds decided to dump their documents 10 days before trial date. Incompetence or malevolence? I vote for the later. I would love to see reporting on what caused this sequence of events.

So much bullshit, so little time. The grotesque rabid attacks on Trump just show the depravity of the DC class that has ransacked the world since WW2. The ugliness that they are trying to keep hidden must be beyond comprehension.

30 days? How generous of the DA.

If I were on Trump's team I'd wonder how much time thought I'd need:

How many records were turned over?
Each to be searched for relevancy?
Cross checked against other voluminous records?
Time to clear up any conflicts with existing records?
Each document with possible redactions?
Are the lawyers assured the feds were forthcoming with ALL the relevant records?

Hell I'd ask the judge for 30 days to review before I could even suggest a reasonable time.
