Hey look, Pakistan threw its most popular politician in jail, on orders from the US, and now his political party is "over performing" in the election. Hmmm....
Special Counsel Robert Hur knew there was no chance that Merrick Garland would indict the sitting President Joe Biden. So he did the next best thing, maybe even better. He put in the official report that Biden was mentally defective. I'm sorry, old and pathetic and forgetful. I think that was more effective than an indictment that would never go to court in Biden's remaining lifetime.
I watched American Fiction, and it was basically a message of "Stop giving us awards just because we are black!" Of course it was nominated for five Academy Awards. It was a funny movie, a lot like Tyler Perry, but with subtler jokes and a lot of Larry David worthy cringe, mostly coming at the expense of white liberals. You can only come away from the whole thing with the notion that white liberals have a humiliation fetish.
Joe Biden has told aides and outside advisers that Attorney General Merrick Garland did not do enough to rein in a special counsel report stating that the president had diminished mental faculties, according to two people close to the president, as White House frustration with the head of the Justice Department grows. - Politico
Garland's a goner for not playing ball.
In White House meetings, aides have questioned why Garland felt the need to appoint a special counsel in the first place, though Biden has publicly said he supported the decision.
While Biden himself has not weighed in on Garland’s future, most of the president’s senior advisers do not believe that the attorney general would remain in his post for a possible second term, according to the two people.
Last year, Biden privately denounced how long the probe into his son was taking, telling aides and outside allies that he believed the stress could send Hunter Biden spiraling back into addiction, according to the same two people. And the elder Biden, the people said, told those confidants that Garland should not have eventually empowered a special counsel to look into his son, believing that he again was caving to outside pressure.
LOL.
"No one is above the law... whose name is not Biden."
At today's White House press conference, White House Counsel spokesman Ian Sams inadvertently destroyed the Justice Dept.'s case against Donald Trump's possession of classified documents:
Q: I think maybe we disagree on if he should have used the word “willfully” last night. But there’s one other thing I wanted to ask you about, which was that his attorneys said that they were going to work on the process to make sure that none of this [i.e. the mishandling of classified documents by high government officials] happens again.
MR. SAMS: That’s a great question. I think that something that this issue a year ago brought to light is that this is a, unfortunately, very common occurrence in our country. The National Archives has talked about how 80 different libraries and collections just in the last decade or so have called and said, “Oh, we found classified documents in these papers.” And they have a process that you’re supposed to turn those back in.
But then, you know, we had the issue with President Biden. Immediately after that, we had the issue with Vice President Pence. And I think it’s important to understand that this is a common occurrence, and the President thinks that we should fix it.
Like, he gave all these documents back. He knew he did not — that these governments should be in possession — that the government should be in possession of these documents.
And so, what we’re going to do is the President is going to appoint a task force to review how transitions look at classified material to ensure that there are better processes in place so that when, you know, staffs around the building are rushedly packing up boxes to try to get out during a transition as quickly as possible at the same time and up until the very moment that, you know, they’re still governing and doing matters of state, you know, they’re going to try to make recommendations that that can be fixed.
And he’s going to appoint a senior government leader to do that. We’ll have more on that soon.
And, of course, none of this forgiveness and understanding of just what a jumble and mess this classified document business is will be extended to the Giant Walking Evil Orange Man. 'Cause, he's bad, mmmmkay (said in Mr. Mackey of South Park's voice).
It's not hard to keep classified docs from walking out the door when an administration changes. Just keep them locked away in the GSA-approved safes where they belong. It's called falling procedure. But, politician, believing they are above the law, never follow procedure.
@Humperdink: is that it's pretty clear everyone's does it, either knowingly or unknowingly.
And in 2003 our "National Security Advisor" Sandy Berger stuffed classified documents down his pants and then hid them on a construction site for later retrieval. Even the National Archives has him listed as a thief: https://www.archives.gov/research/recover/notable-thefts.html
Of course Berger acted before the Obama administration, at which time the Deep State started to operate openly as Party enforcers and with complete impunity. See Edward Snowden's leaked evidence and Crossfire Hurricane. Contrast this era with the often aggressive bipartisan criticism of agency actions during the Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, G.H.W. Bush, Clinton, and G.W. Bush administrations.
Merrick Garland is a meek and even-handed judicial kitten put out as a nominal hatchet man in a way that's fully unsuited for his temperament. He looks frozen and frightened in every public appearance. I suspect the backroom partisans of the Obama administration constantly bully and coerce his actions, as Obama himself is naive, idealistic, and meek. See Susan Rice and Rahm Emmanuel.
She was singin' Don't turn around, oh Der Kommissar's in town, oh You're in his eye and you'll know why The more you live, the faster you will die ... Don't turn around, oh Der Kommissar's in town, oh And if he talks to you and you don't know why You say your life is gonna make you die
After the news reports surfaced the Black National Anthem will be sung at the Super Bowl, Japanese Americans have filed a complaint with the civil rights division of the DOJ regarding their national anthem. Toyota Motor Company and Honda are apparently funding the complaint. No word from the Korean American community, nor Kia or Hyundai.
Both my mother and my MIL had dementia. Bribe-Me! Biden shows all the signs of dementia. Aggressiveness, forgetfulness, frailness, lying and remembering false memories.
Of course for the LA Times and all the other Mushroom Media, Bribe-Me! Biden's illegal alien barbarian surge is their key to Democrat Party tyranny and stolen elections.
This is the second time Biden has had to warn Garland for not going after Biden's political opponents fast enough and hard enough. And to think that they assassinated a Supreme Court Justice to open a seat for him. If they do that a second time, people are going to start asking questions.
A ruling by Hawaii's high court saying that a man can be prosecuted for carrying a gun in public without a permit cites the crime-drama TV series "The Wire" and invokes the "spirit of Aloha" in an apparent rebuke of a U.S. Supreme Court decision that expanded gun rights nationwide.
"The thing about the old days, they the old days," the unanimous Hawaii Supreme Court ruling issued Wednesday said, borrowing a quote spoken by character Slim Charles (Anwan Glover) from season four, episode three of the crime-drama TV series "The Wire" to express that the culture from the founding of the country shouldn't dictate contemporary life.
"As the world turns, it makes no sense for contemporary society to pledge allegiance to the founding era's culture, realities, laws, and understanding of the Constitution," the 53-page ruling says before citing the hit HBO show.
Wow. Look what Biden's new government in Pakistan did overnight to the vote count. The military showed up, kicked out the vote. counters, and changed the totals. They took over because Imran Khan visited Putin, and the US then called and told Pakistan that there would be "severe consequences" if they didn't take out Khan. We did this to "protect democracy" in Ukraine, which has outlawed opposition parties and suspended elections.
Wow. Look what 'tim in vermont' does in his 8:55am comment. He drags in lies and half-truths about Ukraine that I have already corrected more than once without any acknowledgement from him. (Three parties in Parliament were banned for being openly pro-Russian. There are still eight parties in Parliament - six more than we have - three pro-Zelenskyy, three anti-Z, two neutral, plus 24 independent members, at least 20 more than we have. And the members of the banned parties are mostly still in Parliament, after founding new parties with less obviously pro-Russian policies. Elections have been postponed because (a) the Ukrainian constitution forbids elections in wartime, and (b) Russia would bomb the polling places, as they are now bombing apartment blocks, hospitals, and anywhere else civilians gather.)
More shamefully, 'tim in vermont' fails to mention a much closer parallel to what's going on in Pakistan and the U.S.: just two days ago, Russian election authorities disqualified anti-war candidate Boris Nadezhdin from running against Putin, claiming that too many of the signatures on his qualifying petition were invalid. That means that the only candidates running against Putin are all pro-Putin nobodies who openly say that they don't even want to win.
Why doesn't 'tim in vermont' mention this obviously pertinent parallel to Pakistan? (How's that for alliteration?) Does he want to look like a paid Putin propagandist?
