"Rumblings in town had suggested that Gal Gadot, the Israel-born star of Wonder Woman who served in the IDF years ago, was behind the event...."
"The proceedings — ahead of which attendees were required to sign an NDA promising not to record or recirculate the sensitive footage — kicked off with remarks from Rabbi Marvin Hier, the outgoing head of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Museum of Tolerance. After noting that it was the eve of the anniversary of Kristallnacht, Hier said that experts have estimated there should be 200 million Jews in the world today but 'there are only 14 million because we are the leftovers of pogroms,' like the one of Oct. 7. He labeled Hamas terrorists 'the Nazis of the 21st century.'... As was forewarned, the footage was gruesome.... For some, it was all too much — a number of attendees could be heard weeping, and some left the theater mid-film, unable to watch anymore. For others, it was not enough... several attendees marched out of the theater and shouted that viewers should not have been spared any of the atrocities that were committed...."

Debra Winger was also served in the Israeli military. She played Wonder Woman's little sister in the 1970's Linda Carter series.
Pro-Hamas demonstrators attempted to beat Jews outside the screening, which was held at the Museum of Tolerance.
How can someone sign an NDA regarding footage that's in the public sphere? I guarantee you nothing being shown at that screening isn't already available publicly.
I never thought I'd see the day where a Jewish guy in LA - about my age - would get smacked on the head with a bullhorn and die. And was that guy arrested?
And, of course, I never thought we'd see another terrorist attack on Israel along the lines of the Holocaust.
We are in a bad, bad place as a country. This is a result of the Dems and their wide-open immigration and DEI.
I've written here before: Tribalism didn't work in Rwanda or the former Yugoslavia and it won't work here as long as the Dems are married to identity politics.
Good first step, Hollywood.
Now, American media should stop white-washing the horror of all forms of Islamic terrorism, which is what Hamas is just a small part of. Announce a time when the truth of Oct. 7 will appear on screen, raw and uncensored, so that parents of young kids can make sure they don't see this sort of nightmare material, but then show it all.
The college-educated dunces who chant "from the river to the sea" need to see the bloody fact of what they're advocating for, and the rest of us need to be reminded of the horrible ideology that lies at the heart of all this. Islam is not solely, or perhaps even mostly, a religion, peaceful or otherwise; it's a racist, violent and supremacist ideology that seeks conquest of the world. We can't resist it if we won't face its reality.
I doubt Gal Gadot coordinated this, simply because there are plenty in Hollywood with equal or greater motivation and capability to make this happen, such as Steven Spielberg to name just one. If she did set this up, and for any other, good for them. I am one that doesn’t feel compelled to see the details. Both sides have acknowledged the level of brutality visited on civilians on Oct. 7th. Anybody trying to claim it didn’t happen now is an idiotic partisan or absurd believer that such could never happen. It happened. Of that I’m sure. The only value, to me, is somehow divining from watching the raw footage what is appropriate retaliation, and I’m not interested in answering that question. I’m good with retaliation in general at this particular time. Yesterday’s comments by Hamas only make me more certain of all the above. They admit wanting this and now they got it.
Nazis require women in the modern motion pictures to wear bras while having sex. Are they going to let the Nazis win?
But according to Crack Emcee none of the atrocities were really all that bad — those Jewish women deserved to be raped, tortured, and murdered by the manly men of Hamas, and the murdered babies were just asking for it.
The rabbi that American Jews need is not Marvin Heir. It’s another Meir Kahane.
Never understood her appeal, but this type of thing needs to be done.
Apparently there was a riot outside the Museum of Tolerance.
"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!"
God is at work. It’s not nice to fool with His Angel Army.
On what grounds would Muslims and their far left fellow travelers protest the screening of this video? The way they talk, you'd think they would be extremely proud to showcase their work. This is what "from the river to the sea" means and no one should be under any illusions about it.
"Rumblings in town?" I'm not a part of the Hollywood elite and I knew that she was the one behind the event. It was common knowledge in southern California.
Climate is the real threat.
They say it with a straight face.
and white people
“Outside Museum of Tolerance”
As always, it’s the Muslims who are the aggressors. Always. Nature of the anti-freedom left.
Islamic tolerance is a one-way street. “You tolerate us with your equal protection clauses and your lousy due process. Then, when we have enough power to influence matters,[*] we will no longer tolerate you.”
*And btw the influencing will happen even without >50% of legislative power. Way less. Adverse consequences from having Muslims around begin at around 5%.

Shine that light! Show these “people” for who and what they are. They don’t belong in this world.

Where did Crack Emcee make these statements? You impeach your own honesty and trustworthiness (on this and any topic) by making such inflammatory (even if "sarcastic") mischaracterizations of his statements made here.
"This is what "from the river to the sea" means and no one should be under any illusions about it."
The first rule of Genocide Club is: you do not talk about Genocide Club. At least, not in any terms that prevent you from pretending that you don't mean what you really do mean when it's convenient for you to do so.
In fact, a lot of things leftists believe in are like that.

"Debra Winger was also served in the Israeli military. She played Wonder Woman's little sister in the 1970's Linda Carter series."
Debra Winger was a much bigger star in Hollywood (for a time) than just being a little sister to the main character in a 70s tv show. That's an odd way to describe here career.
"God is at work. It’s not nice to fool with His Angel Army."
Nope. It's just people. All that happens on Earth is just people. No God here. (Or anywhere.)
It a good thing the atrocities were documented. I can fathom some people denying it happened at all, on account of fear that Orange man could come back. As we all know too well by now, anything that could prevent his return is fair game.
Really weird reasoning to do closed show
I would have thought protesters were more in need of awareness
"protesters audible"
I take it they weren't protesting the savagery as such.

Daily Mail is reporting the viewing was held at "The Museum of Tolerance" in LA.
Afterward there were brawls outside The Museum of Tolerance between Israeli and Palestinian protestors.
There is a part of watching a society like America fall apart that is hilarious from a dark comedy point of view.
"Little Pink Houses for you and me...."
Hassayamper, because they don't want the actual truth of what they did shown in the western world. They have no problems showing the non-western world exactly what they did.
The tipping point has arrived. Fence sitters are finding a side suddenly.
For the last 2000 years the Jews were assigned the scapegoat role. Their job was to be available to submit and die as a sacrifice to atone for man’s existence. That all ended in 1949. Killing the Jews is no longer secretly supported. Good people actually stand up for them staying with HST. All it takes is courage.
If my memory serves me, during WWII, once video of concentration camps came back to the States, they were shown as newsreels in movie theaters. With warnings for weak people and children to leave before being shown.
The truth needs to get out, no matter how gruesome.
but, according to rcocean.. isn't this "ALL LIES" by "The Jews" ??
rc?
People actually NEED to see the evil in this world if we want to combat it. Hiding it only emboldens the hate.
No one, who's spent a lot of time around death, wants to spend more time around death. But this one's apparently got it all. A museum theatre. Celebrity guest list. 'The Nazis of the 21st century.' Everything: Murder Porn has really evolved since the days of sitting alone, watching Daniel Pearl get his head chopped-off, online. It's all totally First Class now. Even the disturbing phrase "For others, it was not enough" disturbs no one, Hamas being the only ones not allowed to wallow in bloodlust and death, while everyone else gets to pretend they're in the movie Starship Troopers or something. Sigh. When I was a kid, there was a lady in my neighborhood who used to take advantage of my good nature to trap me in her house and make me watch films of her son's funeral. It took me a while to figure out how to get out of it. And then there was that snuff film in Chicago. My God. Poor production values. No one serves popcorn. It's just not like you think.
YouTube... too, Gal Gadot!?
watched a video on LibsOfTiktok, with two pretty co-eds (one holding a Palestine must be Free, from the River to Sea poster), and they were asked about Oct 7th..
They said: well, they'd heard, that that had NEVER happened
then they were asked about their sign, and what should to "The Jews" living there now?
And They said: They should GO BACK WHERE THEY CAME FROM!
and they were told that most Israeli's were Born in Israel..
And They said: Well, they should go back where their grandparents came from..
and they were asked about Jews that came from Libya, or Syria, should they go back there?
And They said: YES! they should go back to Libya!!
Then one of them graciously said: Jews could stay in Palestine, if they submitted to the rule of Hamas
So, there you go! ALL The Jews have to do, to live in peace* is
A) give up their government
B) give up their nation
C) submit to the Will of Allah
D) accept Mohamed as the True Profit
live in peace* well, live in as much peace as other muslims do under Homas
What is the demographic theory that the Rabbi uses to arrive at the 200 million figure? (For that matter, are there really only (?) 14 million Jews on the planet? Think I should ask ChatGPT?)
Check my math, please. From 10 million Jews (round figure) in the world in 1940, to 200 million now is a twenty-fold increase. What population in the world has increased twenty-fold since 1940, or any comparable span of time in modern history?
The pogroms were awful, but the numbers murdered almost seem quaint now, so they can't be a factor.
Instead of wishing there were more Jews, maybe it's better to have fewer Muslims.
Just a thought.
show what angry Islamic Nazis do - torture and slaughter of innocent civilians - and the Angry Islamic Nazis and their moral degenerate supporters lose their minds in violent Nazi rage?
wow - shock.
Nothing in those videos should have come as a surprise to anyone who paid attention to the details of the massacre at the Bataclan theater in 2015. Too gruesome for me to type out here, but let's just say they involved knives and women.
Of course, the MSM reporting immediately swept those reports under the carpet.
DEI properly translates to "Kill all the Jews".

People attending that showing were attacked outside by Hamas(Nazi) demonstrators. Video on Instapundit.
Gal Gadot? Reminds me of Guy Gadois, Inspector Jacques Clouseau's favorite nom de guerre.
'Personally, I think you are long overdue for your annual vision exam! ;)'
Not sure what it is...she's pretty, but not OMG! pretty.
Maybe I just have a type and she's not it...
“I doubt Gal Gadot coordinated this, simply because there are plenty in Hollywood with equal or greater motivation and capability to make this happen, such as Steven Spielberg to name just one…”
She makes a good face for the movement. Beautiful, Israeli, born and bred, IDF military veteran, kick ass (unarmed combat and heavy weapons expert), etc. These were her people who were murdered, raped, beheaded, etc.
DEI properly translates to "Kill all the Jews".
Diversity, Equivalence, Indoctrination (DEI) or its proper anagram: DIE (Diversity, Inequity, Exclusion) under the ethical, nominally secular religion.
Hamas and attendant interests need to take affirmative action to mitigate progress with collateral damage forced by their choice(s) past, present, and progressive. Israel will not take a knee.
Let's see if I can summarize Crack's position: If the Israelis don't want to show photos and videos of atrocities and desecration of human bodies that proves they never happened. If Israel finally lets photos and videos be seen, to counter the claims of people like him, well then they shouldn't do that because it's uncivilized.
"Hamas being the only ones not allowed to wallow in bloodlust and death" must be a typo because all we ever see from Hamas and their supporters is photos of dead and injured children and wailing mothers to score political points. And if they don't have current photos they'll show us ones from years ago or other places or even AI generated, although the last batch I saw had a kid with a hand with six fingers.
I'm sure that Hamas is delighted to wallow in blood and death. They even had professional photographers embedded with CNN to provide high quality images on 10/7.
On the one hand I completely empathize with the Crack MC regarding the concept of murder porn. I don't watch it I don't read any of the accounts. The headlines are enough for my imagination.
On the other hand I empathize with Wendybar who thinks it is a necessary evil for people to be confronted by the depraved reality of the Mass slaughter perpetrated by religious fanatical thugs in the hopes of initiating the final genocide solution of the Jewish people in Israel.
But according to Crack Emcee none of the atrocities were really all that bad — those Jewish women deserved to be raped, tortured, and murdered by the manly men of Hamas, and the murdered babies were just asking for it.
He's never said anything remotely like this, and it's patent that he doesn't believe anything like this. I disagree with Crack on this subject but enough with the slander.
I tried to post this comment an hour and a half ago, but I was on my way out of my house and for some reason had no service (still don't if I am out of my house's wifi range - get it together, Verizon) and it didn't post - sorry, Crack, I would have been quicker.
How do you deal with a hate like Hamas? Send in the canary... Jews, and share... shift responsibility.
Thank you for this blog post and the link to the news article, Professor Althouse. If you had not posted this, I would not have known about the showing of this film, or about the film's content. I am trying to understand everything about what has happened in Israel and Gaza on and since October 11th. Knowledge is power.
It is hard to learn about atrocities without getting overwhelmed and sick. I think we naturally see more details in the news about the suffering of Palestinians and destruction caused by the IDF in Gaza because the events are unfolding more slowly there in Gaza (day by day) than the rapid- fire events that occurred in Israel on October 7th.
I don't want or need to see the film footage described in the linked article because I was a teen in the U.S. during the Vietnam War, and I saw it all on my television evening after evening, and in weekly newsmagazines, and the newspaper. We saw suffering there never to be forgotten.
But I am glad that this film composite of the unforgivable attack in Israel by Hamas on October 7th was made and shown and viewed and reported. And thankful for this blog post noting it. I wanted to understand these things better, and now I do.
"DEI properly translates to "Kill all the Jews"."
Except the secular Jews that have been pushing it the last 10 years. They're honorary hamas now...at least until hamas finds out they're not white.
If 6 million Jews were killed in ww2 then if a generation is 30 years and each woman has 1.5 kids then a first approximation would be that the 6 million if they had lived 80 years ago would be 6000000 * 1.5^(80/30). Or 24 million more Jews today if there were no holocaust. If you go back to medieval times Jew killing pogroms the number would be very high even if a smaller number were killed. Depending on assumptions you would have to integrate over time for variable murder rates.
Ah, a Feudian slip.... I should have written "October 7th".
Sorry... "Freudian" slip....
Gadot did the right thing. The truth has to come out showing just what HAMAS is... that is monsters. And how they deserve everything Israel gives them.
And remember folks... GAZA is HAMAS. The inhabitants hide and support them.
The question no one is asking is: Why did Hamas film their atrocities?
Although they were proud of their gruesome cruelty, that is not why they filmed them. The videos were to be used for recruitment. For making the statement to other muslims "We are killing the Jews, and you can too. Join us."
And the human tragedy is that marketing strategy would have worked.
That is why the films must NOT be made publicly available, as so many have demanded. You are projecting your revulsion onto your enemies, and you fail to understand how much muslims love snuff films.
Oops only half that, 12 million, only half are girls so 3000000 killed not 6000000. If we calculate based on historical data the answer would be 15 million new people. At a 0.88% human growth rate historical.
Visuals are empathetic pleas. Just imagine...
Not YouTube, Gal Godot, but Rumble, of course.

However, you have failed to take on board what Robert Marshall said: Islam is not solely, or perhaps even mostly, a religion, peaceful or otherwise; it's a racist, violent and supremacist ideology that seeks conquest of the world.
Imagine how history changes without Islam's virulent Jew-hatred.
(Just as history changes without Christianity holding Jews collectively guilty for Christ's crucifixion. Important difference: the Christian world finally learned. Well, except for universities. Well, except universities are nearly devoid of Christians.)
I've searched for, and seen and heard plenty, but I know I've not seen the worst. Frankly, I think everyone should see exactly what was done to make the Israelis say to themselves finally, Enough. We've had enough of this shit. We're ending it now.
This is out there already, and worth a listen. Survivor tells what happened.

No, they are apparently showing *something* to a select group. Not the rest of us, so we can make up our own minds about what's seen or what happened. This viewing is as valuable to me as those Mexican "aliens" they keep trotting out down south.
Here's a better summery: October 7 changed many conservatives - from people who vocally hated cancel culture to becoming our top enforcers of it - and they don't understand how their new-found hypocrisy looks to normal people. Or even to their new excuse-making selves. They remind me of black people, cheering Johnnie Cochran's win in the OJ trial, but without any historical foundation of wrongs to explain the new morality at work. They just can, so they will - a fine example of "Manifest Destiny" and all that in then modern world. As I mentioned a few days ago, white people are over 60% of this country, and they mostly control the media, so they can make "up" look like "down" if they want to. And they have, and do. So enjoy yourselves:
Making "up" look like "down" seems to be your idea of a good time.

OK, but not hosted by the Museum of Tolerance and applauded by everyone here. When Palestinians show their dead, then it's just blatant politics and nothing to be upset about - no celebrities helping. Unlike this. Just like the phrase "human shields" means Israel's gonna have to go in there and just kill everybody. Of course they will. The Palestinians planned for two years, but Israel HAS to go in there NOW "before they regroup." (Like that makes any sense: since Hamas launched the attack, doesn't it figure that they have a plan for afterwards, and they're waiting for the Israelis - instead of running away and having to "regroup"?)
Most successful actors do much more than act model win beauty pageants and attain the rank of Sergeant in the Israeli army. This is what Wikipedia says about her production experience.
Producer
In October 2019, Gadot formed a film and television production company, Pilot Wave, with her husband Jaron "Yaron" Varsano, and said she will star in and co-produce an Apple TV+ limited series about actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr, as well as the Warner Bros. historical thriller film Irena Sendler, following the life of WWII humanitarian Irena Sendler.[84][85]
In 2020, Gadot co-produced, as well as starred, in the film Wonder Woman 1984.
Post WWII, films of the death camp atrocities were required viewing in Germany, so that no Germans could deny the horrors committed by the Nazis. Most Germans were appalled by what their country had done to fellow humans.
Will an audience of Palestians be mortified by viewing the truth of Oct 7, or will they give such documentation of Hamas atrocities a standing ovation?
“That's actually why I have doubt. She's too convenient as the face. And perhaps she was involved and happy to lend her face. Still, all the other aspects sounds like executive producer types and not actors.”
From Wikipedia:
“ In October 2019, Gadot formed a film and television production company, Pilot Wave, with her husband Jaron "Yaron" Varsano, and said she will star in and co-produce an Apple TV+ limited series about actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr, as well as the Warner Bros. historical thriller film Irena Sendler, following the life of WWII humanitarian Irena Sendler.[84][85]”
“In 2020, Gadot co-produced, as well as starred, in the film Wonder Woman 1984.”
Not saying that she did produce it, but that she has the experience to have participated in its production.
BTW, the “Wave” portion of the name is the English translation of her Hebrew name. Her father was 6th generation Sabra (Israeli born), and her mother from a Holocaust survivor family. The city that she was born in, was founded in 1878 on land purchased from two Christians, and approved by the Ottoman ruler, since it was such poor farm land. That changed, after they drained the swampland. Despite that history, it has repeatedly been attacked by Palestinian terrorists over the years, trying to “reclaim” territory that they never owned.
Now all the West Point think tank profs that predicted that Hamas would bury the IDF in months of deadly urban warfare have realized that Hamas is actually pretty incompetent and are surprised at how much territory Israel has covered with low casualties in a few weeks. This reminds me when all the cool Hollywood actor studs went to Saddam Hussein’s Iraq and were sure that the Battle Hardened Republican Guard was so awesome that they would kick the ass of the US Marines. These types of armies only can win against other home grown armies, Syria can beat ISIS, but not Turkey, etc.
The news blindly believes the 10,000 with 40% of them children Palestinian deaths but based on the hospital rocket deal, why should anyone believe them, inflating death is in self interest for Hamas. The reason the Jews are persecuted is that they are too resourceful. They work hard and prosper, leading to jealousy. Whether it’s the banking system of Germany, a village in Russia, Retail Sales in New York City, or a desert in the Middle East, they adapt and make it a better place. Like the Koreans in LA they make people hate them by rocking the boat and getting ahead. The answer is to imitate them by making hard work, family, and moral behavior an element of your culture. But that statement is not what anyone is willing to hear.
Crack said "Here's a better summary: October 7 changed many conservatives - from people who vocally hated cancel culture to becoming our top enforcers of it - and they don't understand how their new-found hypocrisy looks to normal people. Or even to their new excuse-making selves."
Crack, how do "normal" people respond to a terrorist attack on an unsuspecting civilian population? I would say many respond with outrage, and minimal tolerance for equivocation. Personally, I see your line of thinking as revisiting the arguments of the defense at the Nuremberg trials, namely that something like the Dresden bombing was the moral equivalent of the death camps. No one was in the mood for that shit in 1946, but the moral clarity of that time has dimmed. As for me, I am more street in these situations. Don't start none, won't be none. Or FAFO. It's FO time for Hamas.
Pogroms were happening 200 years and more before the Nazis, Mike. I allowed for an early start, but even so, the pogroms were not primarily about killing Jews, but terrorizing, raping, and looting them. They were not a Final Solution.
The Jewish populations of central and eastern Europe and the Russian Empire grew roughly at the rate of the surrounding majorities from 1800 or so--if there is evidence that the pogroms had a significant effect on growth (besides encouraging emigration) I haven't seen it.
@Crack: Here's a better summary: October 7 changed many conservatives - from people who vocally hated cancel culture to becoming our top enforcers of it - and they don't understand how their new-found hypocrisy looks to normal people. Or even to their new excuse-making selves
Moral relativism is never a good look.
Consider any number of Cancel Culture examples — almost universally, they were for saying things that are factually true, or disagreeing with woke shibboleths.
That is leagues away from, say, Rashida Tlaib. Or anyone who celebrates, or advocates, mass terroristic murder in pursuit of Islam's vile goal of eliminating Jews.
Oso Negro said...
'Crack, how do "normal" people respond to a terrorist attack on an unsuspecting civilian population?'
Bad choice of words, maybe. Everyone responds to violence differently. Especially if you've experienced it vs. mediated violence. Some people see violence on TV and they get all worked up. People with violent histories might see violence on TV and it's just violence on TV. We don't get worked up. We wait for more information. We don't decide the whole world has to change now. I personally have not joined a single protest. I have not put up a single poster or tore one down. I have not demanded anyone shut up, nor have I tried to promote a speaker from one side over the other. That's how I think an American should respond to an attack on any foreign country. They're our allies, not our friends.
"I would say many respond with outrage, and minimal tolerance for equivocation."
I might act that way for our country, but Israel spies on us like everyone else - and Benjamin Netanyahu brags about manipulating us after he propped-up Hamas financially - so I'd check that level of devotion.
"Personally, I see your line of thinking as revisiting the arguments of the defense at the Nuremberg trials, namely that something like the Dresden bombing was the moral equivalent of the death camps."
No. World War II was very very clear about who were the good guys and who were the bad guys. The bad guys were the Nazis who attacked their neighbors without warning, in the name of living space, and called human beings "animals" and "savages." Today, the Zionists who attacked their neighbors without warning, in the name of living space, and call human beings "animals" and "savages" are being portrayed as the good guys. That - and the fact they're literally slaughtering people who had nothing to do with it by the hundreds as I type this - tends to muddy a clear picture, somewhat.
"No one was in the mood for that shit in 1946, but the moral clarity of that time has dimmed."
That, and the fact the Zionists bombed the King David hotel in 1946, while everyone was pretending to get all morally huffy in Germany. That was an act of terrorism by the Zionists. Where is your outrage? What had anyone done to deserve that? Don't you think bombing a place shows a propensity for violence? Don't you think bombing a place speaks to who threw the first blow? Don't you think bombing a place would be considered the beginning of a conflict? It worked for us with Fort Sumter.
"As for me, I am more street in these situations. Don't start none, won't be none."
Well, then - if what I just showed you about the King David hotel is true - then you should be "down for whatever" when it comes to tripping up Israel.
"Or FAFO. It's FO time for Hamas."
There's that mud being thrown on a clear picture again.

That was 77 years ago.
At the time:
The Jewish political leadership publicly condemned the attack. The Jewish Agency expressed "their feelings of horror at the base and unparalleled act perpetrated today by a gang of criminals".[29] The Jewish National Council denounced the bombing.[12] According to The Jerusalem Post, "although the Hagana had sanctioned the King David bombing, world-wide condemnation caused the organization to distance itself from the attack."[11] David Ben-Gurion deemed the Irgun "the enemy of the Jewish people" after the attack.[30] Hatsofeh, a Jewish newspaper in Palestine, labelled the Irgun perpetrators "fascists".[31]
