In Summer if you’re first you get to break up all the spider webs. Some of those suckers spin 6lb monofilament. Tracks in the snow is better…
…if you ski in the east a fresh power morning brings assholes what wait at the top of the lift to see which trail you choose so they can give you enough of head start so you don’t change your mind but not so much that they can’t catch you near the top and cackle as they speed by breaking up your fun…
Since I was young, I ALWAYS do a little lap around my patio barefoot during the first snow. It is MY start to Winter. It sucks when we don't GET any snow, which has happened before.
Ugh. Having experienced flooding as young renters, the houses we’ve bought have been at the top of hills. The current one is particularly long and steep. It doesn’t snow a lot in SW Washington, but when it does, our neighborhood loathes it.
There is an evil which most of us condone and are even guilty of: indifference to evil. We remain neutral, impartial, and not easily moved by the wrongs done unto other people. Indifference to evil is more insidious than evil itself; it is more universal, more contagious, more dangerous. A silent justification, it makes possible an evil erupting as an expression becoming the rule and being in turn accepted.
The video runs for over 30 minutes, but it is worth a look.

It is a mythological monster or evil spirit that is sometimes associated with cannibalism. I think it is from the folk-lore of American Indian groups from around the Great Lakes, Northern Plains, and similar parts of Canada, so is sometimes associated with winter and snow as well. It is just another boogey-man, maybe.
First snow day here in Eastern Iowa that stayed on the ground for many hours. My adopted forever dog Buddy (a Lassie Collie dog) loves the snow and was doing his version of "snow dog angels" today. He loves the snow.
People in seattle usually freak out over snow that stays more than a day or two. The hills and lack of snow plows make for bad driving. Clouds and rain they can handle, snow and ice not so much.

We had three inches of snow last Tuesday night Wednesday morning in Center Mass. Pretty wet melted fast.
Very nice photos.
Now look at the body language between Hamas and their captives upon release. Just like with the first group, they were so well-treated, they're practically friends with those animals and savages, now.
Whether it's about Hamas, Zionists, Trump, or anything else, the distance - between the narrative and the truth - is outrageous.
I traced her little footprints in the show
I hate despoiling fresh snow. Just a thing with me.
I'm serious: that lower photo is really striking.

First snow... show
Pretty sure first snows of the season are when the Wendigo hunts.

Me too!
Full disclosure, strap some skis on my feet, and I’m looking for the untracked powder!
I've seen more about the Napoleon movie--including the usually sensible Dan Snow pitching softballs the Ridley Scott in an interview.
Scott's whole attitude was that of The Auteur--his vision is not to be encumbered by historical or common sense.
My hopes were not high, but still.
Keep in mind... the early bird gets the worm but it is the second mouse that gets the cheese.

Okaaay.
I was thinking it was a joke- like what’s a Henway.
It’s interesting… but, yikes.
