We were in the U P and Canada last week . The morning news reader attributed the early fall colors to the Canadian wild fires.

I was looking up 'touch and go' because what came to mind was what some people say about someone who might be dying but seems to be coming out of it. It was 'touch and go'.
We are in a similar climate in NH, and I always regard Sept 1 as the first day of autumn, Dec 1 as the first day of winter.
My son in Nome sees snow every month but July, and generally thinks of Autumn = Aug 1, Winter = Oct 15. We lost our bragging rights when he moved there.
So, the idea of "touch and go" could essentially mean when you stop talking to somebody and you walk away, that person enters a state of suspended animation as it were. They are neither alive nor dead, to the listener.
The only way to let people know that you are not dead is to say something.
Like the word 'perambulator' came to mind last night while i was driving and I had no-one to say it to.

Jim, what did you expect for a PATHETIC FOOL?? She is loyal to the Fascists taking down America.
If you dig a little into Trump's history what you discover is that the people around him all seem to have gone to jail. I don't know a single person who has gone to jail. It's not like this stuff is common.
Trump is a perp. and his associates are perps. It's taken too long for the criminal justice system to catch up with him, but I think they finally have his number now.
