"I actually believe, if you’re transgender, one of the most conservative things you can actually do is live your authentic self."

"But to do that, the government should not be in your business. They shouldn’t be in our bedrooms. They shouldn’t be trying to tell us who we can be, who we can live as, who we can go to school as. That’s not Republicanism."

Said Jennifer Williams, a member of the Trenton, N.J. City Council, quoted in "Why a Trans Republican Keeps Engaging With Conservatives" (NYT).

I actually believe, if you're transgender, the most human thing we can do is help you deal with your mental illness, and prevent you from spreading it to others, particularly impressionable minors.

A strawman argument. The government isn’t telling adult how to live. This is about kids and about sports. Nobody cares if an adult guy wants to wear a dress.

I actually believe, if you’re transgender, that you're mentally ill but also smart enough to realize the zeitgeist is shifting radically against your lifestyle, so now you're going to grasp at ways that paint you in a more conventional light.

Prepare for a rude awakening.

It's never been about the transgenderness, it's been about the trangressiveness. You are not authentic until you are transgressive and annoy the normies. Otherwise, there's no fun at all in it. This way, you get to make history and be heroes when society crashes down around you.

Attention must be paid!

Live and let live. Most adults should be free to work out their conception of themselves, and indeed, their own mental issues to the extent they are not harming others.

The problem with the transgender agenda is the effort to push this on children who are not competent to make life decisions and to harness the state and professional associations to enforce an extremely dubious program. For most, biology is destiny.

Let people reach maturity (probably their mid-twenties) before letting them make life-altering and irreversible physical changes inspired by what is obviously a mental health issue.

Again - if adults want to be "trans" fine. FINE.

Here are some of the issues:

1) Allowing biological males to compete with women. The height of unfair anti-women behavior.

2) Fake after school art clubs where creepy leftist "teachers" lie and lure children in, and then bamboozle them with age-inappropriate sex and gender confusion. (then threaten kids to not tell their parents)

3) using BS language like "gender affirming care" to surgically or pharmaceutically mutilate children and teens who may be confused. Leftists pushing age-inappropriate life-altering decisions that can lead to depression and suicide. (again - calling it "care".)

4) Leftists OK with Allowing biological men who call themselves "trans" to enter women's prisons and women's locker rooms. Leftists care more about the feelings on these fake trans, than actual women. = the left are collectively anti-women.

That's the way it was for decades. Then Public Schools decided to strip parents of their roll in rearing a child. The source of this is the Unconstitutional Department of Education.

The cabinet level agency needs to disappear.
It was invented to level out educational outcomes. The claim was the US didn't want all schools performing like Mississippi schools. But like all things based on socialism, It is impossible to make all equal. The only possibility is make things equally mediocre. How many States fail to have half their students below 50% in reading and ciphering at grade level?

This all started with federal mandates as to what is required in primary schools. Overriding the Parents rights.

This trans-woman tells tales of on person shouting a slur at "her" as "she" is campaigning, and of going to the deeply religious CPAC with signage denouncing their religious beliefs, then feeling persecuted when people respond negatively to "her" signage (the response itself is not detailed and apparently offset by a great deal of camaraderie and kind reactions). Nonetheless, "she" uses the false-accusation language of "fear" and "positions 'herself' in front of the media" so if she is attacked (at this family-friendly,relatively sedate political event, where "she" is the one loudly denouncing others' beliefs), "she" can make a media story about it. And then "she" calls these other attendees dangerous radicals nonetheless (without offering any evidence) and calls "herself" their victim, though apparently nobody violently responded to "her" incitements -- they just ignored "her."

So "her" set-up failed.

Note that CPAC is no more or less boisterous than the national DNC convention, where pro-life Democrats and women who do not believe men can become women are vocally and viciously abused and have been completely banned. Note too that the political conservative response to transgenderism is focused solely on the government grooming and mutilating children.

Also, if "she" believes in sexual privacy, how exactly did the woman whose house she went to while campaigning even know "she" was transgender in the first place? And what did she tell this real woman? I consider it a slur to be called cisgender. I consider it a slur to have men tell me they are women. Did she talk about boys in girls' bathrooms and sports teams? Was the woman insulted or afraid when a man (perhaps a large one) in a dress appear at her door in such a dangerous place?

"She" wants to keep the government out of "her" bedroom, yet doesn't tell us if "she" wants the government in classrooms influencing children to explore transgenderism.

I'd like to see her try this stunt at a Mosque, of which there are many in Trenton, or a Black Baptist Church, of which there are many in Trenton, or an Ultra-Orthodox Synagogue, though there may be none in Trenton.

If you are a conservative, the most conservative thing you can do is believe in the conservative agenda. Believing you can change your sex is not one of those things.

Yo want to wear a dress? Wear a dress. I don't give a damn. You want to slice off your penis? Be my guest. I won't miss it. You probably will, but I won't.

Whatever you decide to do, I'll view you with bemused tolerance and hope you feel better someday.

In the meantime, just stay out of the ladies room (the dress isn't fooling anyone) and don't mutilate any children. OK?

Confused concepts here, as there are at least four routine political orientations:

- Hard Left: Conservatives out-of-power who demand/force change and revolution to get it
- Soft Left: Liberals and bohemians who favor freedom of choice and non-traditional lifestyles, with some changes to the status quo
- Soft Right: Libertarians who will let you do whatever you want, and want the same
- Hard Right: Tradition-and-religion-bound rigidity that follows parents and grandparents

The hard right has proven to be sustainable, as a simple, durable default option. The hard left routinely arises when the hard right has become too rigid and has not addressed emerging needs. The hard left includes BOTH anarchists and revolutionary "alt-conservatives." The soft left and right are unfocused and malleable, but can achieve a lot outside of crises.

So, this speaker comes across as an eclectic mix of left and right concepts...but a soft center bohemian because the hard right rejects transgender as non-reproductive and non-sustainable.

Is this person transgendered or just fashion? Kings often had dozens of children, but dressed up to fill their time. If 'transgender' means fun and new fashion then...who cares...as one might marry, father children, etc. If it means chopping off your bits and becoming sterile...then you are an evolutionary dead-end. Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow your ideology dies.

How’s government in trans bedrooms?

Lem Vibe Bandit म्हणाले...

Is “bedroom” euphemism for ‘if I want minors in my bed, it’s nobody’s business’.?

It used to mean I have the right to kill my baby in the womb.

Bedroom could mean literally anything.

"No one has a problem with adults having trans surgery beyond the ick factor."

I have a problem with expecting taxpayers and fellow insured people to foot the bill for such invasive surgeries which do nothing to fix the mental health problem but do require said taxpayers and fellow insured to foot the bill for expensive, long-term care and medication.

Lem Vibe Bandit म्हणाले...

What could using the word “actually” twice mean, in this context?

A break with the past?

A link to the past is a conservative hallmark.

Not easy to find stuff in Reddit. Luckily I had saved it: What could gov stay out the bedroom mean, in this context.

"the government should not be in your business"

But "the government" is going to enforce standards of care for minors and put trans propaganda in schools and threaten to sic antidiscrimination law on dissenters. The opportunity to increase government control of thought and speech is one reason transgenderism became a prog vanguard issue so quickly.

There are quiet transgenders who are not shit disturbers. I think they have a psychological problem but I have read Dierdre McCloskey's memoir and she/he has not lost any intellectual power and still tends conservative.

That has nothing to do with the "Woke" stuff and the grooming of children.

Greg the Class Traitor म्हणाले...

You stay out of "other people's business," and we'll stay out of yours.

Were you born with a penis? Do you still have it? Then you are male.

1: You may only use the "male" sex segregated facilities. You dont' want to use those? Then go into "individual use" facilities only.
2: You may only participate in male or "co-ed" sports teams. And to the extent that said "Co-ed" teams have rules about "male" and "female" players, you fall under the "male" rules.
3: Are you dating? Then you are free to identify yourself as "male" or as "trans female". You may not lie to people and claim to be "female".

Because everyone else has rights, too. And your desire to "live your authentic self" does not give you the right to trample everyone else's rights.

Females have the right to "female spaces", and your penis disqualifies you from entering them

M म्हणाले...

The only thing a trans can do to make me respect them is keep themselves to themselves. In fact I feel this way about everyone. I shouldn’t know the private details of your life unless I am closely related to you. You sure as hell shouldn’t be sharing them with my under aged child.

I can't agree. I not only object to paying for it, I object to "surgeons" advertising that "service", and being paid for it. There is nothing "authentic" about being confused about your own sexual biology. And there is nothing "medical" about genital mutilation, even if some nutbag requests it. His brain doesn't work right. That's too bad. But lots of things are too bad. It's his problem, and it shouldn't be mine. Or my kids'.
