"Garner" of the day.

From "Is It Bad to Drink Coffee on an Empty Stomach? Your gut is adaptable, experts say, but there are a few facts you should keep in mind" (NYT):
For many people, enjoying a freshly brewed cup of coffee first thing in the morning is a nonnegotiable way to start the day. But the idea that taking a sip without food could harm your gut — or contribute to other ills like bloating, acne, hair loss, anxiety, thyroid issues or painful periods, as some on social media have claimed — has garnered as much popularity as incredulity.

Is incredulity garnerable?

I don’t believe it.

Yup. It’s bad for your digestion to have a cup of coffee in the early morning without a donut in your other hand.

Every time you do a garner post, I’m reminded of Garner Ted Armstrong and The World Tomorrow. His program was a radio staple of my youth.

WHAT would we DO? If we didn't have the NYT's to tell us How to live Our Lives?

Then do what I do: take a caffeine tablet with a bottle of water immediately after getting up. Don't have to wait for the coffee to brew, you get an invigorating burst of caffeine starting the day, and your teeth don't get stained.

I like black coffee or Cuban coffee and will occasionally drink it later in the day, but my way works for me to start the day.

Tea on an empty stomach gives me a stomach ache. Coffee at least hits an empty stomach without pain. No idea about how my gut biome feels about it though.

What if you took a sip of coffee without garnering food first? The stomach as a grain silo is kinda poetic.

First our morning coffee, what will be condemned next? Morning sex? Bladder emptying before that full and hearty breakfast? Putting on clothes before leaving the house? Feeding the pets? Checking the news? How about waking and immediate jogging or a gym workout? Bah, these people are full of themselves.

Which is worse for your health in the morning, a cup of Java or a bowl of Frosted Flakes with whole milk?

So, I guess I can quit blaming my bald head on genetics and concentrate instead on the 50 years of starting my day with coffee, and skipping breakfast?

These health articles never end. And they're never correct.

A pretentious verb if there ever was one. Others are:

Shutter   Close down, cease operations
Task   Assign to
Weaponize   Use in a forceful way

Eating Tide Pods also garnered a large audience. So what? Looking at the size of our population, there's gonna be a horde of idiots for any topic.

Garnering your wits about you is the reason for AM Coffee.. as was smoking cigarettes before that became taboo.

And addiction is not the issue. It’s mental focus. How else can we keep up with the Mind of Althouse.

The thing about “garnered” is that there is almost always a better word, in this case “gained.”

There was a great West Indian fast bowler called Joel Garner, aka Big Bird. Gee he was good. Very difficult to pick his length.
