This morning on Twitter, Alice Cooper is trending....

ADDED: I think Alice Cooper is trending because "Johnny Depp was mobbed by fans as he and Alice Cooper stepped out in Istanbul, Turkey ahead of their gig with their band Hollywood Vampires as part of their live tour on Monday" (Daily Mail).

Poor Groucho. Mentioned third by Mickey, just as his death was immediately overshadowed by Elvis's.

Lydia, The Tattooed Lady never charted like Don't Be Cruel, School's Out, and Last Train to Clarksville.

It's fun when celebrities are star-struck with each other. I like the weird story of Alice Cooper and Glen Campbell becoming friends while semi-retiring to the suburbs of Phoenix and playing a lot of golf. Fantasizing slightly: joining the Chamber of Commerce, supporting safe streets campaigns and Santa parades, the 4th of July (may the 4th be with you, not that other 4th the kids are into).

I like to think of them having something to do with the McDowell Mountain Music Festival (M3F Fest):

“Rooted in a deep love of music, the arts, and the community around us, M3F was founded with a mission to give back. The idea was simple; Two thousand fans, hundreds of lawn chairs, one stage, and grandma’s cooking to keep us fueled as we would set up. 100% of proceeds directly to charity.

Eighteen years later we still operate under the same guiding principles, but we’ve surely grown! This past year we hosted 25,000 people over three days, donated $600,000 (over 2.6M since our inception), and continue to host an eclectic lineup of world class artists.”

Youngsters probably thought Alice was Johnny's new girlfriend.

I really like Alice Coooper's radio show. I don't get to listen to it often but he has such a fun and engaging personality. A guy who is good at and truly enjoys his work.

Poor Micky. No tag for you, you're just a monkee.

Dolenz has had a remarkable life, and seems like he'd be a good hang.

Alice Cooper does seem like a good guy. In the documentary "Hired Guns" about studio musicians and musicians hired to play on the road, he is the only one that I remember nobody having any thing bad to say about. Everyone who worked with him seems to have liked him. Billy Joel, on the other hand, not so nice.

I gotta say, all of the fashion commentary in that article is hilarious. They're all dressed like homeless people, complete bums. Going for the 'People of Walmart' look. And Alice Cooper, at 75, is arguably looking better than Johnny Depp, at 60.

So why isn't Vampires trending right now?

Not to diminish the others, but Joe Perry is by far the most talented of that group. Althouse, I think he deserves his own tag . . . . . . . he's kind of earned it.
