Maybe the Kakhovka Dam was fatally damaged by that Ukrainian HIMARS strike last year that the Washington Post wrote about, and the damage finally resulted in a catastrophic failure today. Here is an interesting thread.
It just seems like a pretty big coincidence, the timing of it. But that doesn't mean that it's not what happened. Of course Kiev is pushing as much water downstream as they can from upstream dams that they control, to maximize the damage, and Kiev continues to direct its forces to shell the dam, presumably, they are doing all of this to create a sudden, and even more catastrophic, collapse. You know, because the Russians blew it up because they were so scared of this Ukrainian offensive that they panicked, because, you know, Russians are stupid.
What the Russians are saying is that the dam was blown by either NATO or Ukraine, with NATO's help. I presume they will give their evidence in the UN Security Council meeting that they have demanded on this issue. I don't think very many people actually know what happened.
I am resigned to Trump winning R primary. His numbers are just too strong, so it seems. Might as well have everyone jump in who wants to jump in. I think he hurts the overall R ticket, but I could be wrong.
I thought Bush Jr was dead man walking after 2000 election. Thought the only chance was if he got shot or Laura got shot. Sympathy dynamic. Then 911 happened. Ron, Vivek, or the ND gov need something world changing to stop the DJT rocket.
RFK Jr is the most interesting to me, but he has zero chance.
The massive forest fires in Canada and prevailing wind patterns are the cause of the considerable air pollution (and beautiful sunrise photos) across much of the US upper Midwest and East the last few weeks. You can actually see the daily drift of this pollution using the app called Windy (www.windy.com).

Stopped at my local (small town) Kohl’s a few days ago. No “Pride” clothing display for toddlers/babies. Nothing for adults either. Thankfully corporate must let the locals have some autonomy.
I was honing in on ANGEL OF EMPIRE again for Belmont but not too thrilled with addition of blinkers for this race. I know he trained with them before but never liked last minute changes on a thoroughbred right before a major race and also morning line has the ANGEL at 7-2 and I was thinking fair values at minimum 4-1.(flavien HAS SUGGESTED BLINKS TO TRAINER?) I'll have to do a little more handicapping and make my final choice tomorrow. Posts 1 -3-5-7 are the most winning posts in this race (24-15-15-14) respectively Angel leaves from 8 not a deal breaker as don't believe much difference in field of 9.COX's Tapit HORSE FROM RAIL IS INTERESTING BECAUSE OF TH INSIDE POST AND EARLY SPEED (RACE NOT TOO MUCH PACE AND SHOULD BE AT LEAST 24/48 EARLY RUN OR THERE IS NO WAY THEY'LL STAY THE DISTANCE. This will be my last wager on graded races until SARATOGA in AUGUST (not July)I have also increased my wager on the former president being indicted within next 10 days from 6.5-1 to 8-1 at a minimum Obstruction in the Florida home. Jack don't play he's worked the Hague. 1st Possible GOP nominee wearing an ankle bracelet?
BG (8:02am): Shhhhh. Don't tell us where you live. Maybe corporate didn't give the locals autonomy. Maybe the local managers just conveniently 'forgot' to unpack and display the Pride merchandise corporate sent them, knowing that no one around there would buy any and it would just decrease sales of other items. If they're smart, they'll unpack it in the back, rumple and rearrange some of it, and repack it in different boxes before sending it all back, to make the stuff look like it's been on the shelves for a while. Passive resistance!

You might not have to worry about it, because New York City has the worst air in the world right now due to the Canada fires. They postponed the Yankees. https://nypost.com/2023/06/07/heres-when-you-can-expect-the-severe-wildfire-smoke-to-subside/
Yes thank you Wendy bar that just dawned on me and there are already too many beautiful thoroughbreds dying from other causes and the air quality will most likely still be bad.Amazing I may just pass this round and hope NYRA uses their heads on this but I am afraid big $$$ may make the decisions. :(

Do you have a new camera? Or technique? The light in the last couple of sunrises has been extraordinary.

Tucker on Twitter episode #1.
Ya know, I believe he already has FU money, maybe he is unconcerned about making more. Or maybe that's down the line.
In any event, always interesting to hear his commentary.
