>Child rescued from 'dust devil' in baseball game/"Luckily, the umpire reacted quickly"<
Nice what the older kid did, sure. That was of course sort of an automatic reaction. But, please - that child was in no danger from that little dust devil, which would have passed on by him in a few seconds. Maybe some dust in his eyes... Fact is, they're kind of fun to be in.

We used to chase them down to GET into them.
It was fun.
Look for little boys on bicycles out looking for dust devils.
Dust devil warning sirens.
When I was a kid we used to chase after those things and jump into the middle of them.

Tell me this kid is related to the red pickup twister teen, please!
"It's a twister! It's a twister!"
I grew up in the desert. We saw dust devils fairly often. I don't recall them being dangerous. They'd pick up trash and swirl it in a circle.
When they pass over you the air inthem is much warmer than the surrounding air.
"I was trying not to think about bad stuff, like 'Twister,' the movie...
The kid is right, that was a pretty bad movie.
