A few days ago, someone posted a link to a timeline about the Steele dossier. I thought it was in the cafe comments but now I can't find it. Does anybody remember seeing it or, better yet, have the link at hand?

Also, Zeus with a knowing smile, and mischievous eyes. A girl who talks with her eyes.

The rest is abstract puffery (apologies to puffins)... nay, twittery, weed-induced hallucinations, and alien sh... Until we read again. So long, Paglia.

Kamala Harris said that the United States accuses Russia of "crimes against humanity".
I say this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

This is amusing given the Biden administration is itself guilty of crimes against humanity in addition to violation of the Nuremberg Code with its mandatory vaccination mandate which resulted in a 45% increase in millennial deaths in 2021 as just one example.

Democrats Meddle Again in a G.O.P. Primary, This Time Down-Ballot

Original story is paywalled in the NYT, but the gist is in the post at Election Law Blog:

"Last year, Democrats spent millions of dollars elevating far-right candidates in Republican primary contests for governor and Congress — betting, it turned out correctly, that more extreme opponents would lose general elections.

Now Wisconsin Democrats are trying to do it again, this time with mail and TV ads before a Republican primary in a special election for a State Senate seat that carries ramifications far beyond the district in suburban Milwaukee.

The Democrats are helping a far-right election denier who has become a pariah within her party in her race against a less extreme, but still election-denying, conservative. They hope that with a more vulnerable opponent, Democrats can win a seat held for decades by Republicans and deny the G.O.P. a veto-proof majority in the gerrymandered chamber.

“Janel Brandtjen is as conservative as they come,” reads a postcard sent to Republican voters from the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, which calls her “a conservative pro-Trump Republican.”

The Feb. 21 primary, and the April 4 general election to follow, will serve as the latest test of how much appetite Republican voters have for the flavor of election denialism that fueled the party’s grass roots after former President Donald J. Trump’s 2020 election loss.

The twist in the Wisconsin race is that both leading Republican candidates took significant public steps to try to overturn Mr. Trump’s defeat. One of them, however, Ms. Brandtjen, a state representative from Menomonee Falls, has so alienated members of her own party that she was kicked out of the State Assembly’s Republican caucus, leaving Democrats giddy about the prospect of facing her in a special election for a battleground district.

I see that Tom Brady is taking his kids skiing this week. Lots of photos of them in Vail.

His ex-wife, of course, is attempting to relive her younger horing days in Brazil, showing off her body and dancing around trying to get laid or something.

And has media tagging along to take photos of her showing off her "body."

Not a good look.

Must be nice to have a father who looks after you, was the best player in the NFL and has amassed riches for you and your family that most cannot even fathom.

And then there's mom. Showing off her aging body. In Brazil. Or something.

Question for all the hillbillies of Althouse...

I've written two murder mysteries, Whodidit in the Supreme Court and Whodidit With a Senator.

These are set in Washington D.C., because I thought it would be fun to have a homicide cop try to solve murders in the middle of all the political shit that happens in Washington D.C. The first one, somebody dumped the body of a dead baby on the dais in the Supreme Court building. That caused a shit-storm.

In the second one, a Senator was murdered. And he had sexually harassed, I can't even remember, 90 women or something.

These books are both fun and light, with a lot of humor. I write them to relax a bit. Anyway, I just got an idea for my third one: Whodidit With a Redskin?

I think this one is going to be about race, racism, bad language, words white men are not allowed to say, identity politics, and solving that damn homicide.

So my question to the hillbillies of Wisconsin (or wherever you are, I'm in Charlotte) is whether I should start up this book, or just skip it because it sounds like a bad idea.

Claire McCaskill?

The one who's smiling and grinning and laughing is Rush Limbaugh.

Don't you remember Operation Chaos!

Back in 2008, the damn San Francisco Chronicle calls Rush the "Great Satan." It's almost like you're biased as shit, San Francisco Chronicle! You ought to put that up on your front page somewhere. "We're the newspaper that will tell you to Vote Democrat." You know, so you're honest with your readers.

Anyway, it's funny to read that Rush was "the Great Satan." The hell he was! You damn child reporter. You got the quote totally wrong. You don't remember who the Great Satan is?

The USA! Our whole country was "the Great Satan," according to the Ayatollah Khomeini.

I feel like he was biased too! I wish Omar or some other American who practices Islam would stand up and say, "My country is not the Great Satan. That's really stupid and Iran still owes us an apology."

Unless she thinks we really are "The Great Satan."

Let us know if you think our country is Satanic, Omar. Speak up! Don't be shy!

Personally I think we're all going to hell.

I spent three years writing articles for the Motley Fool. So much fun. I loved my time there. And I learned so much about the stock market and making money. But I had minor aggravations, too.

One of the minor aggravations is that I was not allowed to use the term "USA" in any article I wrote.

Now isn't that insane as shit?

My editor insisted that we follow the totally neutral and above-board and honest and non-partisan AP Style Guide.

Now that I am on hiatus from the Fool, I can say, the AP Style Guide can kiss my white ass! There's nothing wrong with the term "USA" to refer to my country, you leftist piece of trash excuse for a wire service.

I call on the Associated Press to explain to the American people why the term "USA" can never be used! I want 100% of our journalist class to explain why the phrase "United States of America" is verboten and we can only say "United States."

And here's the hard part. You have to explain it without being leftist, and without being political!

I say, it's political as shit to hate the term "USA" and to try to abolish it in the mainstream media. You silly Democrats ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Stop lying in your newspapers. And quit teaching our kids to hate our country.

"Do you ever wonder who you'd be if you had stayed in the Est Village?"

I never lived in the East Village.

Lived in 2 places in the West Village: 31 Jane Street and the big NYU complex called Washington Square Village.

There was no way to stay in the second place. And at that point we had a baby and relocated to Park Slope. From Park Slope we moved to Madison -- for a job. I supposed if I'd been hired by NYU to teach there, we'd have stayed in the West Village.

The East Village was a dicier place back then.

Robert Cook म्हणाले...

"Do you ever wonder who you'd be if you had stayed in the Est Village?"

The East Village of today is not the East Village of yore.

Today, you'd likely be an affluent young professional living in a chic upscale apartment in a new or renovated building, or one of a group of young, middle-class college grads living together and sharing rent in buildings of various vintages, each displaying degrees of renovation from nil to extensive (and expensive).

"Lived in 2 places in the West Village: 31 Jane Street...."

I used to spend much time in the 80s browsing a bookstore on 8th Ave. just a block south of Jane Street. In the early 90s it closed, to my sorrow, and my roaming in that part of the West Village became infrequent.

AA was a trailblazing parent to Park Slope. When I arrived, a year before she left, it was still gentrifying, and the mass of strollers still half a decade away.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

The part of Park Slope where we lived — 3rd Street, 2 blocks west of the park — was entirely gentrified women we lived there from 1981 to 1984.

We had a beautiful ground floor of a brownstone that had been nicely restored.

But people didn’t use big strollers in those days. Small was still beautiful.
