The perfection that is Mick Jagger on TikTok.

Having just blogged about a NYT encolumnization of a viral video of people fighting in a restaurant, I wanted to serve you a delightful palate cleanser:

@jagger Sunday inspiration… “put that down and go and do something useful” #mickjagger #sundayinspiration ♬ original sound - Mick Jagger

I feel dirty every time I come to your site and am served up with a helping of TikTok.

What does Meade do to keep the CCP surveillance tool out of his mind space?

Well I have a set of the same teak folding chairs as Mick Jagger, so now I know that.

That was delightful, I must say. My first and hopefully last tick tok experience.

Flatter post yesterday and happy Jagger post today means I have this in mind

Shadoobie, my brain's been battered
My friends they come around they
Flatter, flatter, flatter, flatter, flatter, flatter, flatter
Pile it up, pile it up, pile high on the platter

I can’t believe they milked so many hits from a I-IV-V chord progression.

Saw my first Stones concert in 1976. Been a fan ever since! He moves pretty well for someone his age (80?), as does Keith.

He’s 79. He won’t be 80 until July 26.

Yeah, and I feel dirty every time one of my commenters reflexively repeats the propaganda of the American tech companies that have tried and failed to compete with an app that is more enjoyed than theirs and are resorting to pressuring American legislatures to enact censorship to protect them in their second-rate endeavor.

And they are all doing the "surveillance" you're so afraid of, including Google, which is hosting this blog.

"What era Mick Jagger are we talking about?"

He doesn't look the same with his shirt on...

You must understand the seriousness of a foreign enemy scraping the data of Americans. Yes, it is to the benefit of domestic companies to have it banned, but it's still a net benefit imho.

The 'they're all doing it' justification is kind of weak...

I took a look at a few other Jagger/Stones posts. This one cracked me up:

FWIW: I’m a 20+year reader, occasional tipper, and sometime Amazon-purchase linker.

I enjoy (most of) your takes, and especially appreciate the insights provided by your commentariat.

Just thought you might want to know how one of your “long timers” thought about your constantly pushing TikTok. I didn’t think you were going to go all “Rex Parker” in response. It is your blog, after all.

Best wishes! And keep at ‘em.

Thanks, Whirred.

So I have avoided Tik Tok and will continue to do so while occasionally enjoying a Tik Tok video on Althouse, I also avoid Google to the extent that I can (DuckDuckGo for me for example). Now Apple, well that’s another story and i guess my downfall or how I pay homage to virtue
