Damar Hamlin, hit in a football game, goes into cardiac arrest, some people are bringing up the Covid-19 vaccine, and we are told those people are deplorable.
This is my screenshot of the top of what comes up when I search Twitter for Damar Hamlin and vaccine:

NO ONE, has ANY right, to question The Government... In Any Way, Shape, or Form!
Questioning The Government is INSURRECTION!! Any one That does so, MUST BE Eliminated!!!
LONG LIVE BIG BROTHER!!!
Saying it had nothing to do with The Fax is as baseless as saying it caused his heart failure.
The FACTS of The MATTER, ARE:
Every single football player, that was Ever hit in the chest... Immediately had a heart attack.
Just LOOK AT THE RECORD... EVERY SINGLE PLAYER... EVER!!!
These people are claiming without evidence there is no connection between Hamlin’s cardiac condition and the covid vaccine. Isn’t that just as irresponsible as concluding there is a connection?
When did people get so stupid? Was it covid?
I saw the hit…not extraordinary?
YouTube believes its important I sign in to my account in order to watch the video. I have a conspiracy theory about that…
When they announced that he was receiving CPR on the field, I figured it was micardiosis caused by the vaccine.
This has been an issue in the soccer world. First instance in the NFL?
Witing to see if we are provided a reason for his collapse.
I’ve seen harder hits in the college game. I have no idea what caused his collapse, nor does anyone else. And he sure seems like a nice young man and I hope for his complete recovery.
It's interesting to know arrhythmia didn't exist before covid vaxes. Oh, wait ... that's what my cousin has focused their career in medicine on.
About 10 years ago, Creighton was playing Nebraska in Lincoln. I was at the game. The Husker fans were wild to beat us as Doug McDermott was on the team.
Josh Jones had a cardiac arrest in the locker room before the game. He had a pre-existing heart condition, but he had been cleared to play years ago. His teammates saw him taken by the ambulance and out of the locker room. People in the stands had no idea about what had happened.
We popped the Corn in the mouth at the beginning of the game and never looked backed. The best game performance I ever saw. The Jays had no idea if their beloved teammate had died during the game.
So many experts...
I'm with the common sense crowd.
How can you slam those that say its related to the Jab, when know one knows anything at this time.
It is impossible to rule a cause out.
If you feel the need to yell at people, the government is the one that started all of this.
First a mRNA Vaccine? that has never ever worked before. Against a respiratory virus that has never before been controlled by a vaccine period. The govt has been forced into a loop of lies to justify something, that until 2021 was thought impossible. Now in 2023 is still known to be impossible
Look, if the first 30 conspiracy theories hadn't proved to be true, we wouldn't be this way. They made us question everything
This will go the way of:
The Las Vegas shooting
The SCOTUS Dobbs leak
The Paul Pelosi beat down.
Truth will never be known
Climate change. These things never happened when football was played in cold weather.

Setting aside Marks snark for a moment, there is a cardiac…phenomenon? occurring in elite athletes, black men specifically. As someone who has spent more time in the Reggie Lewis* cardiac center than I would prefer, I’ve asked many questions of top cardiologists regarding it. IMO their responses are disturbingly incurious…
*(That Celtics player who collapsed and died on the court during practice)
Climate change. These things never happened when football was played in cold weather.
They suspended the game? Prayers for Mr. Hamlin, and hope that he recovers--but why did they suspend the game?
I recall a game lo these many years ago when Drew Bledsoe, the Pats' star QB got hit in the chest and was rushed away via ambulance to Mass General for emergency heart surgery. They didn't suspend the game. The guy who replaced him did a serviceable job, and went on to have a pretty good career.
If it wasn't reported, it didn't happen.
So is the phenomenon of perfectly conditioned young athletes just falling over one fine day an artifact of recent reporting, or has it been happening all along?
The same question for other folks--usually celebs since nobody would report the same about a nobody.
The Sudden Adult Death Syndrome currently alarming actuaries? Are they just freaking out over hyped stories?
Reporting last night seemed to lay it to a hit in the heart and a condition which, at least, has a name. One reporter referred to a thirteen year old kid who took a lax ball to the heart and died from the same thing.
He didn't get hit though. He tackled a guy and then got up and then collapsed. Though Twitter wasn't censoring the video last night, I had to scroll for a long time before I could find it.
The play was completely unremarkable and looks unconnected to his heart attack.

Some of us, but maybe not Lefty Mark, are old enough to remember Len Bias. IIRC the immediate speculation was that his death was an undiagnosed heart condition. Later it was correctly attributed to cocaine use.
Ah yes...another massive Twitter all-in-unison 'uncoordinated' dogpile hair-on-fire response from the usual suspects.
Unexpectedly.
Here's the tackle.
Interesting that it's an antivax tweet because last night, it was just a normal sports account.
Btw, Alex Berenson, the King of the Anti Vaxxers, didn't say anything about the vax for awhile, not until all the provax Twitter doctors diagnosed him from their TV's, something they accuse the anti vaxxers of doing. He just pointed out the hypocrisy.
Commotio Cordis?
For all the conspiracy theory nutballs who jump to blame this on a Covid vaccine, what is wrong with you people?
Interesting they were “preparing” for people to make the argument. Anyway, it is a possibility, but then a few years ago, there was concern about HS football players dropping dead from cardiac arrest long before anyone heard of Covid.
1. Vaccine confusion is 100% the fault of our government, the Public Health behemoth that lied and bullied and bullshitted its way through the Pandemic, ignoring 100 years of good epidemiology experience.
2. Adverse reactions were specifically hidden, news of them suppressed, and scorn heaped on skeptics who wanted decent answers to obvious questions, increasing distrust of Public Health authorities— rightly so, since they are still pushing it on children who are more at risk from the mRNA than from the virus.
3. Fuck these language police. Asking questions is not “blaming the vaccine” and ESPN/NFL embargoing the video of the hit coupled with the rare known cardiac event itself is adding to the confusion.
4. Both teams immediately engaged in prayer instead of agitating for the game to go on. When it’s life & death we tend to focus on the most important thing we can do. I’m so glad to see that mass of players and coaches and staff drop to their knees join arms and petition God on Hamlin’s behalf. America at its best on that field in Cincinnati, even with the AFC conference title on the line. Awesomely inspiring!
I remember hearing about Little League players' suffering debilitating arrhythmia after some, but not all and not always even the worst, chest hits, back at least twenty years ago. Hear hoofbeats, think horses.
And at the same time, I too and struggling to understand what the vax is helping with. I got it, but I stopped boosting after ?one (I honestly don't remember if we got one booster, or none) because it was already clear that (a) the virus itself was following the virus playbook of becoming more widespread and less virulent, and (b) the vaccination wasn't preventing transmission or keeping the vaccinated from getting COVID.
Wow Rehajm and Michael nailed it succinctly right off.
Cardiac arrest after a blunt force blow to the chest is a well known phenomena that long predates Covid vaccine.

I think this is not related.

The NFL was requiring vaccination:

And the mRNA Covid vaccines may have an effect on the heart muscles, weakening them.
Who’s laughing at Aaron Rodgers now?
How many times in the past did a top flight professional soccer player and an NFL player both have a heart attack on the field during a game in one year?
What do Damar Hamlin's injury and holding close minded attitudes regarding "vaccine" safety have in common?
They both involve team sports.
The cardiac muscle is protected by the rib cage, otherwise playing a contact sport like American football would have been next to impossible.
Speculating as to what might’ve happened doesn’t turn people into Andrew Tate, as far as I’m concerned.
I could be wrong. I just don’t have an argument condemning speculation.
Speculation is all we have when we don’t have much to go on.
In fact, we couldn’t do well without speculation. I cant even speculate as to where we would be as a specie without the ability to rationally speculate.
I hope the young man recovers completely and continues his career.
Regarding conspiracy theories: You know what puts them to bed? Hard data and evidence, that's what. It's a similar story to the one about food processing plants having so-called 'mysterious' fires and outages. So how come nobody in the field of health and medicine is pulling together the trending data, year-by-year, since about 2000, on athletic-related collapses? It seems to me that a lot of highly-trained, top-form athletes have been dropping dead over the past year. Looking back through memory, it seems to me that there have been similar cases through the years, albeit at a much, much lower frequency. But let's look at the data, then decide! And then let's correlate to who's been jabbed, and boosted. I do find it curious that there's so much 'jab' jibber-jabber, but nobody's curious enough to actually pore over the hard numbers to make a case.
That tweet from Twatter “kins” got my day off to a great start!
May ye have much success in their career Mark.
I note that all those interactions are on Twitter. Why the need to comment?
That is the problem. Twitter gives a voice to idiots. And also to the people stuck in middle school who feel they have to correct everyone who says something wrong.
There's something to be said about ignoring something.
Haha. I love all the usual suspects armchair diagnosing rare medical conditions, but calling anyone who thinks what happened was extraordinary is a conspiracy theorist. Right.
Look, I remember Len Bias and Reggie Lewis. I know athletes sometimes drop dead. But the intensity of not being allowed to speculate in a specific direction is very noticeable. And it has the opposite effect.
"This has been an issue in the soccer world. First instance in the NFL?"
NOPE!!

I saw the replay multiple times. The collision between him and Tee Higgins was hard, but not unusually so for the pro game. The hit to his chest was something I’d rather not have happen to me, but between his collegiate career and his two years as a pro I am certain Damar Hamlin has sustained worse hits. Other than vaccine status, what is different about this collision? Amid the cascade of “don’t blame the vaccine” tweets in this Althouse post, who offers an answer to my question?
It is unseemly to speculate on a tragedy for the purpose of advancing an agenda.
There is no harm in waiting for actual information on the event.

It looks to me like there are a lot more people on the Left (per Twitter) accusing the Right of connecting Hamlin's condition with the vaccine than there are people on the Right actually making the connection.

You forgot about FBI agent provocateur Ray Epps.
Cincinnati is a team of cheap shot artists, that safety went out with a concussion after a Cincinnati player did a pancake drop on him when he was already down, next series a Cincinnati player rolls into Allen’s knee. Tua got his concussion playing them. The last Cincinnati team to win a Super Bowl was also a collection of cheap shot artists, took out Joe Cribbs for the season wrenching his neck purposely in a pile up. It would not surprise me in the least to learn that that franchise pays bounties.
As far as heart rhythm problems, I am kind of an expert, I wear a pacemaker due to my heart having stopped for 23 seconds in the ER. According to my electrophysiologist, in response to my asking him how long it would take to develop a clot from rhythm anomalies, and he said that it could happen very quickly. I MHO, if it was just an arrhythmia, he would have recovered very quickly.
There is no way to rule the vax, or even the virus, which was engineered to have this spike protein, in or out; it’s just a shame that our government has squandered its credibility covering up their culpability in this whole virus.
I am not a doctor, but either the hospital is strictly enforcing HIPPA, or his condition is grave. I went to bed assuming that I would hear, this morning, that he had passed.
Those who have paid attention have seen small, side reports of a young athlete here, a recent grad there, a famous soccer player way over there who died suddenly- in the playing field or in their sleep. No know previous health issues. Just fit, athletic young people who's hearts stop.
It may be nothing. It may have always been this way. But I don't remember seeing this before in my years. My point is that to dismiss this is to be willfully blind. It seems to be a refusal to look at the evidence of your own senses. What are your eyes seeing? What are you reading about? Is it accurate or are you just dismissing it out of hand? Myocarditis and clotting are both known side effects. This is not disputed. The 10 foot blood clots- well that's another story entirely. Story being the key word. But clotting and myocarditis are known knowns. Yet the lack of action or curiosity on the part of, not only media, but the scientific field at large, is astounding. It's also a sign of our times when picking a side and staying loyal to that side trumps curiosity. Or even the evidence of one's own senses.
Cardiac arrest after a blunt force blow to the chest is a well known phenomena that long predates Covid vaccine.
There are thousands of blunt force blows to the chest every weekend at every level of football, from Pop Warner to the NFL.
How many have resulted in heart attacks before this season?
Look, I remember Len Bias
Bias blew much of his signing money on cocaine. Too much.
My first impression, not much of a hit, and shoulder pads have a breast plate to protect the player in that area. It that can of hit could kill, there would be a lot of dead NFL players...and college, and high school, and the game would have been banned years ago.
And to answer Aggie's question, the health profession, along with government, are very much invested in the jab. They forced their employees to get it. They don't want to know, or you to know. And they don't want to be punished, like government, for their complicity.
It's also not just athletes, although they get the most attention.
Commotio cordis is a real thing. Being struck in the precordium at exactly the right time (a few milliseconds as the heart starts to repolarize) can lead to ventricular tachycardia being triggered with resultant cardiac arrest. More common in baseball fwiw. Chris Pronger of the Blues MAY gave had it happen to him in the 1998 Stanley Cup playoffs.
Given that he was struck in the chest just before this happened, and then stood up very briefly, I think that’s what happened. He had enough oxygen and reserve from his previous cardiac output to perfuse his body for a couple of seconds before arresting and dropping to the ground.
Being resuscitated by defibrillator would be consistent with that also.
I would point out that someone mentions soccer above. However, the Danish soccer player, Christian Eriksen, wasn’t vaccinated. Subsequent testing showed that he had a genetic condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which every once in a while causes cardiac arrest in an athlete. Hank Gathers being the most famous example.
And the thing that always bothered me about the myocarditis story is that it wouldn’t show up months later. You would get the vaccine, get inflammation from that, and have cardiac decompensation from it, just as viruses and other things would lead to myocarditis. You don’t get myocarditis and then a year later drop dead. At least not without some obvious, obvious red flags up to that point.
Somewhat disappointed but not surprised to see Ann taking the “smart people are shutting down the anti-vaxxers,” as opposed to just being forthright about what happened last night.
BTW, when football was first played as a college sport, it was quickly banned due to a number of deaths among players. It’s sort of a codified version of a game played in renaissance Italy with a ball made of an inflated pig bladder with a leather cover. In that game, when it became impossible to break up a scrum, they would release a bull onto the field which would do the trick.
The NFL boasts that something like 96% of players are "vaccinated". Athletes around the world have been dropping. Soccer, Rugby, Tennis. But this time it happened on an NFL field in a VERY important game.
The mRNA shots cause heart problems and blood clots. From what I understand there is no antidote. The genetic manipulation and spike proteins are forever.
But for those vested in the "vaccine", they will be unable to reverse course.
But then again there are all those people that took the first two shots then opted out of additional boosters. Seems they have figured out its dangerous bullshit as well.
Women of America, please don't force this poison on children.

Hey Mark. Are you up to date on all your mRNA boosters? After the first two shots, you should be on booster #2 or 3 by now. If you're not up to date, you are COMPLETELY full of shit.
Put your money where your mouth is and get the boosters.
I thought it was proven that the under-tested vaccine (that was rushed out) is causing medical problems in young to middle aged people.
Everyone knew there was a risk in pushing these CV-19 vaccines out ASAP. Why deny it now?
Whenever I see the term “without evidence” used it seems to be in an instance in which no evidence collection has taken place.
The acquisition of evidence requires searching, and in order for that search to occur someone in a position of power must motivated to initiate the process. The Democratically led January 6th committee was more that willing to spend 18 months searching for evidence. They had power, and motivation and they searched.
When the legacy news media says “without evidence” it actually means no search has occurred and we must make every attempt to insur that no search occurs.
Thanks Gahrie, I should have said Hank Gathers.

Yes, there is a horrible cycle of The Need to Comment, followed by The Obligation to Denounce.
People doing either thing aren't really hurting or helping Demar, so it's not like denouncing is doing any good. People shouldn't be shocked or appalled that people are saying something on twitter.
But it's weird.
I hope the best for him. It was awful watching the players faces on the field last night. You could just tell they thought he had died.
If I were betting, I would bet on the blow to the chest at a critical point in the heart rhythm, having looked at the video of the hit which shows a direct impact to his chest.
Addendum to my Creighton-Nebraska comment. I don't know if Creighton asked to postpone the game or not.
All I do know is that the performance by the Bluejay team - lead by Doug McDermott with 27 points - was the most amazing game I have ever seen. Creighton won by 22 points and it was never close.

Unfortunately, that’s waiting for the liars to speak. Even if it is likely the truth, the medical profession that claimed that George Floyd protests were not superspreader events, but Trump rallies were, have squandered their credibility.

This is just the first one you've witnessed. It will happen again.
Is the NFL requiring players to keep up with boosters? If not, that should tell you something just like all the people who have opted out of booster participation.
The fight to suppress the truth about the poison mRNA shots is going to be ugly. The gov't, Big Pharma, and the education establishment can NEVER admit the shots are dangerous.
Imaging the panic that would be created. Say there are 100 million Americans that took the first two shots in 2021. Now you tell them they have some genetic modifying poison running through their bodies with no known antidote. That's fucking chaos.
So they will double down and force the poison on children. It's their only play. And they have proven over the last two years, they are more that willing to fuck with kids for their own self-preservation. Kind of ironic really.
Good to see the actual hit on the news now. It helps people understand what happened.
Doubtful the vaccine had anything to do with this.
From what I saw, the 'hit' he took wasn't very hard compared to many other tackles I've seen.
Sometimes life doesn't go according to plan...
The clip that Birches posted shows the blow at 10 sec….it does look like the other player’s shoulder struck Hamlin right at mid sternum. It doesn’t really matter if the blow wasn’t extraordinarily hard, it could happen as a freak occurrence of a blow that is just hard enough, in just the right position, at just the right instant of the cardiac electrical cycle.
I think the odds of commotion cordis is are high but as others have noted, the shutting down of speculation is only causing more suspicion and distrust. I would think that the medical team could distinguish a purely electrical event from one caused by infarction, but I have little hope that this information will be released even if it is determined.
The anti-anti-vaxxers are full of it.
1. The mRNA "vaccines" were introduced so quickly that no research could have demonstrated their long-term safety across age groups. Asserting they were safe was and is a statement of faith.
2. The Covid risk to healthy young men was always so minimal that the benefit of any "vaccine" was bound to be very, very small. At the time of introduction, that benefit could not be demonstrated. The vaccine mandates were therefore based on faith and authoritarian arrogance.
3. Mandates might have made some sense if the "vaccines" prevented transmission, but they don't. Therefore, it was always unclear that mandates imposed across age groups served the common good at all, inside or outside sports leagues.
The "Brian T" guy at the bottom of the twitter screenshot says, "Are they too blind to see the massive hit he took to the chest?"
Yeah dude. We've been watching NFL Football our entire lives. And that hit wasn't "massive". Hamlin stood up immediately after. Didn't even look like his bell was rung or that he got the wind knocked out of him. We've all seen hits 10x to 100x worse than that.
You can bet the NFL players and their union are going to be questioning the "root cause" of the cardiac arrest.
No matter what the truth is, the one predictable outcome is you will be lied to. There is too much $$$ and power on the line to come clean.
Soccer players have been dropping suddenly from cardiac injury on European and South American pitches all season. It would be nice if someone would fund a study of post-vaccine injury and actually do a full-scale examination of the vaccine's effect on the immune system. The FDA calling it all good after testing eight field mice should create some reasonable doubts somewhere. #diedsuddenly started on soccer fields. It's a thing, or should be.
But, consider the possibility that NIH would allocate funds for such studies that might implicate Fauci and the rest. Pretty close to zero I'd say.
The vaccine does increase one's risk for myocarditis. Usually left out of these discussions, however, is that a COVID infection increases the risk even more.
I watched Chuck Hughes, a receiver on the Detroit Lions die on the field of a heart attack years ago. He ran his route, then on the way back to the huddle just...collapsed. He was 28. That was in 1971. Different times then. No internet, computers, social media. We knew only what we heard on the radio or saw on that game telecast. Without multiple camera angles, replays, etc.
Then there was the Lions linebacker Reggie Brown who cut his spinal cord on a tackle in the last game of 1997. He required CPR on the field then to restart his heart. Through surgery and rehab he eventually relearned how to walk.
But again...there seems to be a lot of these young people dying, either in their sleep or in activities- it doesn't seem to matter. It SEEMS like there are large numbers of them. I read another one or two daily. Maybe it's just that we have global feeds all day, every day now that we didn't have back then. But...we also have the mRNA vaccines now and we didn't then.
A Dr. Eidelman is claiming he gave him his booster on 12/26/22. He took down the tweet.
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/01/must-bot-account-hoax-dr-really-disclose-info-dr-alleges-administered-damar-hamlins-booster-shot-dec-26-tweets-passed-screenings-huge-le/
It is called "R on T phenomenon" and it occurs when the R wave of the cardiac electrical conduction cycle aberrantly falls on the T wave. Too complicated to explain here; you can look it up if you wish. Suffice to say that it can, but not always, cause cardiac arrest from a stimulated arrhythmia. It happens spontaneously in people and they will get implanted defibrillators to prevent death from it. But it also can happen, vary rarely, from a blow to the chest. The blow must impact precisely the right very small spot on the heart, it must occur at precisely the "right" millisecond in the conduction cycle, and it must generate precisely the right electrical impulse to cause the phenomenon. That is an extremely rare complex and that is why the argument against it, that blows to the chest happen thousands of times in the NFL, doesn't mean much.
This phenomenon is similar, in the converse, to the fist blow to the chest in cardiac arrest that you see on medical TV shows (primarily because it is dramatic). Emergency medical types don't really do that much because we know that it pretty much doesn't work. In the hundreds of cardiac arrests that I've treated during 35yrs in the ER, I tended to always do it while someone was grabbing the defibrillator because, what the hell, it just might work and save some seconds of brain anoxia. Of those, I saw it generate electrical activity that produced a viable rhythm exactly one time (but that rhythm quickly deteriorated and patient died anyway).
This is something that is known to happen with minor blows to the chest (as opposed to major blows in car accidents, etc.) and has happened in fist fights. When I saw the film I saw Hamlin take a shoulder pad blow to the mid chest and go down and it is the first thing I thought of (certainly not Covid vaccine!) because, well, Occam's Razor. I've not yet seen any definitive diagnosis posted but R on T is what happened to Hamlin, I can just about guarantee you.
"Blogger Gusty Winds (Runnin' on Empty) said..."The NFL boasts that something like 96% of players are "vaccinated". Athletes around the world have been dropping. Soccer, Rugby, Tennis."
You got numbers? If you do, let's see them. If you don't, you ain't got shit.
The "Brian T" guy at the bottom of the twitter screenshot says, "Are they too blind to see the massive hit he took to the chest?"
It was not a violent hit at all by football standards. Maybe a flukey one in a million type of perfect storm maybe? Dunno. But it looks like a normal tackle to me. He doesn't even seem to take a direct hit to the chest. It seems like more of a glancing hit. I hope he is okay, but when 20-something men have heart attacks I'm wondering whether chemicals are involved.
The vaccine can be shit AND it could be a freak accident having nothing to do with the vaccine.
Have some imagination, people...
When he dies, no autopsy will be performed, and if one is performed, no detailed results will be released.
It probably was just a freak accident, but I watched the replay- he wasn't hit any harder in the chest than you will see during any game multiple times. My suspicion is that this was probably some sort of spinal nerve injury that sent him into cardiac arrest, but you definitely cannot rule out a weakened heart.
Thank you for your post, Ice Nine.
Not deplorable necessarily; they are also dim, gullible, easily mislead, willfully ignorant, disingenuous contrarians, useful idiots, tools or possibly QAnon shitheels.
Turns out, that Dr. Eidelman is nothing but a lying progressive. Not surprised in the least.
To expand on my previous comment.
There have been other conditions that have caused pro level athletes to just drop dead. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy for one. Cocaine abuse for another. In this day and age I have to assume that pre draft physicals include an echo cardiogram and that screening for drugs of abuse happens....if only as a side bar to screening for anabolics.
I can't speak to the issue of vaccine induced cardiomyopathy here (although I actually am a retired ER doc). What I've been able to pick up through the deflector screens of official blackout suggests that it does occur and while rare is likely a reason to think twice about the vaccine if you are a healthy 16 year old male. But in general cardiomyopathy of this sort will make you fatigued, short of breath etc. Hard to play at the pro level with that. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a chronic, progressive condition with few symptoms before Something Happens. It is a possible factor here.
Hope he does OK but the unimpaired survival rate even with ideal response to arrest is an order of magnitude less good that what ya see on TV.
Tacitus
Ok. What if the cardiac arrest WAS caused by the vaccine, though? We know it causes myocarditis, particularly in young men. We know that as a fact. Are facts taboo?

Lefty Mark and the resident dullard agree that Covid Vaxx could have nothing to do with this. They are both brilliant cardiologists. On the other hand, I watched the game and did not see a serious blow to the chest. He was the tackler. It's certainly possible he had an unknown cardiac lesion, like subaortic hypertrophic stenosis. That could do it. Maybe we will find out. Meanwhile, Aaron Rogers is looking smart.
One of my 2023 predictions: Pfizer, Moderna, et al. will come to detest the Florida statewide grand jury proceedings. They will expose the pharmaceutical companies as frauds, liars and crooks.

Yup. That's why my now 17 year old grandson has not been vaccinated. Nor have his two female siblings.
@Ice Nine, now go look up pro football shoulder pads. They cover the upper chest pretty completely. In your educated opinion can the R on T phenomenon when the upper chest is protected by a solid piece of strong plastic with padding inside?
But I do thank you for answering the question I posed in my moment at 8:32.

Sorry, I hadn't seen your question prior to my posting. Yeah, I know about football pads.
Well, my educated opinion won't really help me out with that. Force can be transmitted through a piece of plastic. And the padding, while it of course mitigates the force, doesn't nullify the possibility of its being transmitted to the chest wall, and then to some degree to the heart itself, I'm sure. Those NFL guys, padded to the nines on Sunday will all tell you that they are bruised and in pain throughout the following week.
I saw Hamlin squaring off for the tackle, the ball carrier lowering his shoulder for the imminent collision, and then the shoulder ramming directly into Hamlin's mid chest. It would take a highly refined and variable-fraught experiment to give you an approximation of the force details that occurred at impact - in other words, who can know? Not me. But the R on T thing has occurred with lesser force, eg. a fist blow.
The jocks who die during a game who have hypertrophic heart problems, generally have not had a direct heart blow involved; they just drop over dead. I don't know much about the Covid myocarditis business but I don't know it to be direct chest trauma related. My idea is merely conjecture of course, but I've been around chest trauma, cardiac contusions, and R on T for a long time and it was my immediate impression. And, I would bet money on it.
Great comments, Ice Nine. I would suspect, too that the necessary expandability of the gear most likely leads to the same vulnerability that we naturally have from our rib cage/sternum. To design gear that would fully protect against this kind of impact would mean that the wearer could not breathe.
It all seems so simple and people seem like morons, until it's not simple:
1/ Two case reports of blunt impact to the chest followed by arrhythmia in male (rugby) athletes in their 20s who had histories of myocarditis (undiagnosed in the second). “In contrast to commotio cordis, these two episodes… were associated with underlying myocardial scarring."
“Conclusion… Sequela of myocarditis increases the risk of lethal ventricular arrhythmias following blunt chest trauma.”. Alex Berenson on Twitter
He links to this paper:
Sudden cardiac death risk in contact sports increased by myocarditis: a case series
Myocarditis may increase the risk of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias caused by blunt impact to the chest, particularly in contact sports. Screening and prevention measures should be considered to reduce this risk.
The case is not closed. NFL players, and NHL, for that matter, should be screened for this.
I just love how all the people who are so certain it wasn't vax-related are busy calling other people conspiracy theorists.
You don't know if it was. You don't know if it wasn't.
Before you tell other people to shut up, maybe try it yourselves.
For all the conspiracy theory nutballs who jump to blame this on a Covid vaccine, what is wrong with you people?
For all the head-in-the-sand shitheads who insist it isn't related to the vaccine, what is wrong with YOU?
In a study published in September, researchers from Ohio State University found that out of more than two dozen athletes from the university who tested positive for COVID-19, 30% had cellular heart damage and 15% showed signs of heart inflammation caused by a condition known as myocarditis.

Note that the study was done prior to the availability of the jab, but after the pandemic had been raging for several months. It was published in Sept of 2020, the vaccine was not approved until the week after the election. The students athletes in question mostly had mild infections, as would be expected.
This is what we found out after we fucked around with bat spit and gene splicers.
a reason to think twice about the vaccine if you are a healthy 16 year old male.
Why, On Earth, Would you get the 'vax' if you were a healthy 16 year old?
To keep from killing grandma? Sorry, not going to stop you from getting/giving
To keep from having bad Covid yourself? You're NOT going to get bad Covid; you're 16 and healthy
To keep from getting Covid? Sure NOT going to help.. At all, against the new variants
So, WHY; On Earth, Would you get the 'vax' if you were a healthy 16 year old?
Oh, That's RIGHT; because the Teachers Union won't let you go to school without it.. Why? WHO KNOWS?
Bias blew much of his signing money on cocaine. Too much.
Players don't receive any money on the day they're drafted ... which is when Bias OD'd.
I was surprised that people immediately jumped to, "Must have been the vax!" Seems a bit dumb even for people convinced that the vaccination is dangerous given the great number of non-vax possibilities.

Indeed. And you know what? -- my second bet is that this incident will result in precisely that: the development and required use of absurdly restrictive chest protective gear in the NFL. Told my wife that this morning AAMOF.

You got numbers? If you do, let's see them. If you don't, you ain't got shit.
Then I will assume you are up to date on the first two shots as well as the recommended boosters. What's your number??? Only you know the answer to that question. And I doubt you will answer because the odds are it ain't three. You know it and I know it.
If you stopped after the first two, you are completely full of shit. Go get your booster dude. I triple dog dare ya. We're all in this together, right?
I'm assuming you're over twelve years old. It's been available since 9/2/22 for anyone over 12. And...if you first chose the Pfizer poison in 2021 you only have to have a two month gap between your second hot poker injection and your updated third. Now's the time!!
What are you waiting for??? Make it a family outing. Take the kids. Take the grandkids. Why not take the neighbors kids?? Show them you live by your spoken standards.
From the CDC website
"What You Need to Know
Updated (bivalent) boosters became available on:
September 2, 2022, for people aged 12 years and older
October 12, 2022, for people aged 5–11 years
December 9, 2022, for children aged 6 months–4 years who completed the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine primary series
Updated (bivalent) Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine also became available on December 9, 2022 for children aged 6 months–4 years to complete the primary series.
CDC recommends everyone stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines for their age group"
Why are people NOW choosing to ignore the infallible CDC recommendations?

"Commotio Cordis?"
Looks like Igna just the party-line e-mail from her manager.
Gusty ignores the question, making it clear he doesn't have the proof folks ask for.
As expected from the blowhard aptly named Gusty Winds.

It is three, and we're scheduling the fourth.
Now answer my question. Show us an analysis of excess deaths among athletes.
“It is three, and we're scheduling the fourth.”
I got the bivalent booster in early December, did fine. I still haven’t had Covid even once and I’m socializing without a mask. Who knows if I’ll get it, it’s a possibility, but in hospitalized Covid patients and Covid deaths the majority are still the unvaccinated.
“Now answer my question. Show us an analysis of excess deaths among athletes.”
He can’t because it hasn’t happened.
Players are dropping like flies.
I've got chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a cancer of a component of my immune system. While the mRNA has risks, and has certainly disappointed when it comes to prevention, it does appear to attenuate the severity of symptoms, which is something I need on my side. So, in consultation with my oncologist, and acknowledging the uncertainties and risks, I've decided cost/benefit comes out in favor of vaccination for me.
Everyone needs to assess their own situation. It's a travesty that, once it was learned that vaccination does not prevent transmission the government and institutions continued to mandate vaccination. From where do they claim the authority?
And vaccinating children is insane.
Were it proven that vax is bad, Trump will be blamed for allowing quick development.
