Sweden just rapidly passed a law making it illegal to do investigative reporting that might harm relations with NATO. That’s as close as we are going to get to an official admission that NATO blew up the pipeline, since Sweden did the investigation.

Democracy dies in darkness.

On this evening I would like to recall the fond memory of the presidential turkey pardon. If you ‘go back and read what I wrote’ I have appreciated the turkey pardon from president left and president right. Now I would appreciate the president turkey remove from office…not getting that…

Happy Thanksgiving

Narr म्हणाले...

Yes, Happy Thanksgiving to all. We're having store-bought ham, turkey, and fixings. The only thing my wife is actually making are a couple of pecan pies--simple as pie can be. The test pie is good so far.

We drove all day last Thursday to reach Kansas city MO--up through Jonesboro and then across to Hardy (where the old BS Camp Kia Kima was), north to Missouri, skirt Springfield and then over a way and north to KC.

I hadn't been in the Ozarks for long time, and never NW of Springfield, so it was all new country to me. The whole region was much more developed than a few decades ago. Definitely a mid-continent regime, higher and dryer than the humid subtropics we border on here; my wife complained of the dry air and we both complained about the cold wind in KC.

The WWI Museum and Memorial was a pleasant surprise in some ways. They don't get funding from the USG (that's what they say) but they do a pretty good job of explaining the context(s), course, and consequences. The overall dim lighting and small print were hard on the old eyebones, but the displays were overall varied and well organized. Very friendly docents, and it was fairly crowded both days (Fri and Sun) I was there.

The nearby renovated and repurposed Union Station was also a nice destination if you like transportation and urban history, architecture and technology. A great example of local initiative and commitment to preservation and revitalization.

Retraced our steps with a sideslip into Kansas just so we could say we've been there, and arrived at home Monday night. 9-10 hours each way, 947 miles driven, and about a grand dropped on the Westin.

That's likely to be the only traveling we do for a while, and I'm glad we did it.

This is a crazy idea.
Do we trust the UN to also think this is a crazy idea?

Thanksgiving house cleaning is necessary and good...but it sucks.

I give thanks that I have been fortunate enough to have lived through the golden age of the United States, which not coincidentally has also been the golden age of the human race. Even more thankful that there are still enough of us around to recognize that and why it has been so.

Not sure there are enough to have it return.

"If we decide to “solar geoengineer” the Earth — to spray highly reflective particles of a material, such as sulfur, into the stratosphere in order to deflect sunlight and so cool the planet — it will be the second most expansive project that humans have ever undertaken. (The first, obviously, is the ongoing emission of carbon and other heat-trapping gases into the atmosphere.) The idea behind solar geoengineering is essentially to mimic what happens when volcanoes push particles into the atmosphere." ~New Yorker

Yeah, right, and while we are at it we will create rain where there is drought; shut down tornadoes, hurricanes, cyclones, and tsunamis; and strip the earth of life-giving carbon dioxide. "Dimming the sun" climate nutcases (scientists no longer they are now gods) have, however, finally admitted that sun rays control our climate.

I just saw a clip of Joy Reid (MSLSD) decrying the celebration of Thanksgiving and wants to cancel it. Has anyone seen a happy, joy-filled liberal? What a miserable life hard core liberals lead.

"Web3 Forward, a pro-crypto super PAC funded heavily by Bankman-Fried, spent more than $210,000 on ads portraying Fetterman as a blue-collar hero .." (Washington Free Beacon)

Or as Harry Reid said regarding the losing candidate: "He didn't win, did he?"

So now we have to pay China to mine sulfur for us?
