"... just after Fetterman inserted Rudd into a tweet mocking Republican state lawmaker Doug Mastriano for issuing an official letter requesting an audit of the 2020 presidential election. 'In light of recent bizarre, unhinged requests on official letterhead from Pennsylvania electeds, my office formally requested Paul Rudd to re-enact scenes from "I Love You, Man" with me,' wrote Fetterman, who used his own office’s letterhead to issue the request. (While his campaign operations have grown significantly this year, the post that prompted their relationship came at a time when Fetterman, a bona fide Rudd Head, was personally writing all of his tweets.)"
It's a fundraiser now, but was it, implicitly, part of fundraising at the time the letterhead was used, a time Vanity Fair calls "last summer"*? The tweeting and letter-writing happened in July 2021. Still, Fetterman was a candidate back then too. He'd announced in February 2021.
The idea of using stars to read an old movie script as a fundraiser originated in 2020 — a year before Fetterman's letter — when the Democratic Party of Wisconsin got the cast of "The Princess Bride" to do a virtual table read of the script. This got a lot of press and was roundly praised as delightful and innovative, and, remembering that, you see Fetterman's idea as less weird and wacky and more clearly about fundraising.
I don't think it was the right place to use official letterhead, especially when you want to be critical of other people's misuse of letterhead.

That's because a Democrat did it. If a Republican did it, it would be just one more example of their lack of gravitas.
I don't think it was the right place to use official letterhead, especially when you want to be critical of other people's misuse of letterhead.
Being a Democrat means never having to say you're sorry.
Fetterman is the single most representative candidate of today’s Dem party. He has a terrible record. He has a gimmick (e.g. hoody wearing). He’s pro-criminal. And he’s actually brain damaged. Now this celebrity gimmick.
The worst of it is that he has a chance of winning because he has a D after his name. Might as well elect a dog to the Senate.
Apparently Fetterman has no problem comprehending what he reads… comprehending what he hears, however, is another matter. Fetterman is a stroke survivor.
Speaking of using an official letterhead, I see the hospital chain treating my latest malady, UPMC of Pittsburgh, issued a letter claiming Fetterpronoun is fit as a fiddle to serve in the world's greatest deliberative body.
Quoting the letter: "Occasional words he will 'miss' which seems like he doesn't hear the word but it is actually not processed properly. His hearing of sound such as music is not affected."(Dr. Clifford Chen)
Gag me with a crowbar.
It was later revealed the aforementioned Dr. Chen is a campaign contributor to the brain addled Fetterpronoun. Count me shocked.

you forgot to mention: RICH through inherited wealth. Never had a non government job in his life.
Also, Chased a unarmed black guy through the streets with a shoot gun
Embrace the decline. I'd like to see Fetterman debate Kamala. Sort of a Special Olympics super session.
Fetterman is not cool, he's just not another schlub politician, so why is this B list celebrity wasting time doing an event with him?
I get celebrities wanting to do things with Obama or even Bill Clinton back in the day and now, on the GOP side of things, Ron DeSantis has a certain cool thing going on which makes him acceptable to country and southern rock musicians at least, but otherwise, celebrities really don't gain by associating with politicians.

Referring to the summer that just ended to remove uncertainty is "this last summer" versus "summer last year". After New Years, this last summer is "last summer".
Your welcome 😃
This pretty much nails down the substance of the Democratic Party in 2022.
Honestly, how can any thinking adult vote for this person? There is nothing to like about this man, nothing to note as an accomplishment, nothing to point to with awe and respect. Just another wealthy man who never had to grow up, living on daddy's money, looking to live on the government dole the rest of his life. We've seen this story so many times. It's how we ended up with the awful leaders that we've had.
What is the attraction of a grown man in a hoodie playing socialist, knowing that his own wealth will protect him from his own policies?
Rich bubble celebrity culture = democratic elites who know best. Come worship. It's Policy.
I guess reading from a script will be doable by him and if there is any before and after banter, that, too, will have to be written for him to read and respond to.
I like Paul Rudd as an actor. Sigh. Now I know he's an idiot, something I didn't need to learn. Sadly, celebrity pandering moves votes.
How in the world can anyone vote for Fetterman? How were the pyramids built? Eternal questions, never to be answered.
Is it all Ben Wikler's fault, then?
Fetterman is a weird dude with an ugly goatee and ears like Yoda, and his impaired brain function doesn't help. I don't know much about the wizard Oz, but he needs to get across that finish line first.
Vanity Fair is carrying a lot of water here. Temujin nails it above.
Honestly, how can any thinking adult vote for this person?
If I were a PA Democrat, I would vote for Fetterman in a heartbeat, just to keep the seat out of Republican hands. (I mean, US Senator is just not that tough of a job: all you really have to do is show up and vote.)

Yeah, me too.
That homunculus wants to empty the prisons end fossil fuels and end the filibuster
"I mean, US Senator is just not that tough of a job: all you really have to do is show up and vote."
You make the case for Herschel Walker in a nutshell.
A similar analysis also applies to Democrat zeros like Illinois's own Tammy Duckworth. She gives Dick Durbin two votes. She doesn't have a thought in her head.
"Your welcome"
No, "You're welcome"
You're welcome.
Did Wisconsin also get the Happy Days cast (minus Joanie who died and Chachi who voted for Trump) to do a "virtual reunion" last time to raise money for the Democrats?
Seems appropriate that a Clueless actor is campaigning for Fetterman
I'm really disappointed in Paul Rudd. Not surprised, but disappointed.
I mean, US Senator is just not that tough of a job: all you really have to do is show up and vote.
What an indictment of the Greatest Deliberative Body In the World.
If that's all there is to it, if you don't have to consider - for example - the merits of legislative proposals brought to you by your constituents, why do we bother having elections at all? Why don't we just have a monarch, and then a computer program - a laughably simple one - that, when a bill is loaded into it, instantly tells you if it passes or not?
I guess that kind of is what Democrats want, isn't it?
Last summer is indeed the summer that just ended. This summer, at this point in the year is the coming summer 2023. Summer 2023 could also be next summer. The summer before last is summer 2021.
Well hes not acting in ant man except he pretends to be an engineer

I ask the same thing about Beto. All I can think of is that far too many thinking adults are overly concerned with their feelings, rather than a rational analysis of cause and effect.
Paul Rudd always had a vacant, not all there quality. It was part of his appeal. The more of you there is, the more people can dislike.
Actors are really good at reading other peoples' lines and faking emotions.
And most of them aren't very bright.
Why do we care what they think about anything?
Because they're beautiful?
I don't go to Raquel Welch for advice on economics...
'A similar analysis also applies to Democrat zeros like Illinois's own Tammy Duckworth. She gives Dick Durbin two votes. She doesn't have a thought in her head.'
The dumbest member of Congress with a 70-IQ on her best day is Hirono.
As far as I know she's never had a stroke, but it seems as if she has.
She makes 'Guam might tip over' Hank Johnson seem like a Nobel Prize winner in physics...
Didn't Fetterman at one point call Joe Biden "Jobin"?
From I Love You, Man...
"You got it, Jobin."
Paul Rudd is going to get up on stage and tell the audience that he has a special video he wrote and directed just for Fetterman...

So you like rising crime, letting murderers out of prison and poverty?? Okay, then. When it gets REALLY bad. STAY there. Don't infect the good states.

Some people think that that is a good thing, and promote it on their blog.
Repeal the 19th.
Perhaps Fetterman will go on to surpass Woodrow Wilson as the most consequential stroke patient in America's history. Wilson was said to be having organic mental changes prior to the stroke. This was evidenced at the Versailles conference where he would compulsively rearrange the furniture in the Paris Embassy reception rooms and the boundary lines in Balkan states....If Kamala runs for Prez, Fetterman would be her obvious choice for Veep. It's very hard for her to find someone to outshine, but he fits the bill nicely. He could be her insurance policy. A Harris/Fetterman ticket would be the fulfillment of Democratic aspirations and hopes.
I realize there are the italics but "clueless" actor doesn't read with the italics.

Change a few words here and there and it's the same question one could have asked everywhere for the last, oh, 5,000-ish years.
Curiosity about grammar killed the cat, George
Fetterman and Beto have something in common. Inherited wealth (via Beto's wife) and bad ideas. The "Clueless" actor should feel right at home.
In our suburban Philly neighborhood there are a lot of signs for Shapiro, the D Gov candidate, but very few also have signs for Fetterman. My guess is that rational D's are embarrassed by the guy and don't want to be publicly associated with him.
The real question is whether they will uphold tribal law in private and vote for him when no one will know.
"If I were a PA Democrat, I would vote for Fetterman in a heartbeat, just to keep the seat out of Republican hands. (I mean, US Senator is just not that tough of a job: all you really have to do is show up and vote.)"
I guess that's how it is for most dems: the only thing they care about is that dems win. What happens to the country as result of their winning doesn't matter. After Russia launches its nukes, and those who survive the initial blasts are waiting around to die of radiation poisoning, the dems among us will at least have the comfort of going to their grave knowing that it was dem leadership that put them there.
RMc: "If I were a PA Democrat, I would vote for Fetterman in a heartbeat, just to keep the seat out of Republican hands. (I mean, US Senator is just not that tough of a job: all you really have to do is show up and vote.)"
Do you enjoy hurting poor and low-income people? Because that's what you're doing.
Do you enjoy supporting the "defund the police" candidates that keep murderous thugs out of jail to rob and kill? Because that's what you're doing.
Do you like paying higher prices at the pump and at the grocery store? Because that's the policies you're supporting.
Do you support Biden using the FBI as his personal gestapo, and urging banks to not handle the money of legitimate businesses and non-profits he doesn't like? Because that makes you part of the clampdown.
I don't think it was the right place to use official letterhead, especially when you want to be critical of other people's misuse of letterhead.
But Democrats dont' have principles, they just have a lust for power.
So it's only bad when a Republican does it
RMc: "If I were a PA Democrat, I would vote for Fetterman in a heartbeat, just to keep the seat out of Republican hands. (I mean, US Senator is just not that tough of a job: all you really have to do is show up and vote.)"
So, then, you think that GA Republicans should all vote for Walker , "just to keep the seat out of Democrat hands"? Same for AZ and Masters, etc?
Or is this another one of those things that only goes one way?
They should read The Object of My Affection instead.
Rudd can be Fetterperson's gay best friend.
