Said a spokesperson for Ron Johnson, quoted in "Ron Johnson again says Jan. 6 was not an ‘armed insurrection,’ adds ‘protesters did teach us’ how to use flagpoles as weapons" (CNN).
That was a clarication of something Johnson said in a Rotary Club Q&A yesterday:
“To call what happened on Jan. 6 an ‘armed insurrection,” I just think is inaccurate,” Sen. Ron Johnson says at Milwaukee Rotary Club just now.

What has Mandela Barnes said about the Floyd riots?
Here’s the CNN report, “I won’t be lectured about crime from somebody who supported a violent insurrection that left 140 officers injured – one was stabbed with a metal stake, and another was crushed in a revolving door – it’s very hypocritical for Ron Johnson to want to bring up crime,” Barnes told MSNBC.”
The Floyd riots were 100x worse.
only a right wing thing can BE violent or armed.
A left wing mostly peaceful protest can no more be violent or armed, than can Black on Black crime
If Johnson is in Wisconsin doing events, his internal polling cannot be good.
Remember when Walker banned most objects from the Madison Capital? Sticks and flagpoles were on the list. Snakes too, if I remember right lol
My advice is that everyone, including journalists, should back away from "armed," which generally refers to firearms or explosives. The rioters have been prosecuted under 18 U.S. Code § 111 - Section (b) sets forth the enhancement for deadly weapons. The charges are generally "Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers Using a Dangerous Weapon" see other similar provisions of the US Code.
It is unquestionable that these are "dangerous weapons" and that is how they should be referred to.
That was back when violence was speech.
The lefties also showed us how to use sharpened pvc pipe in an organized assault on Chicago police in Grant Park in July 2020 injuring 49 cops. Watch the video. This is how lefties do insurrection!

Johnson is right. But that doesn't matter to liberals. Shame. We get lost in all the minutia...but these baked in double standards and hypocrisy are why the United States is going to shit...quickly. We can all feel it.
Saddest part is, liberals don't see that the summer of 2020 is connected to the rapid increase in metropolitan murder rates and violent crime...where minority Democrat voters suffer. Milwaukee is a shithole. Now that the midterms are coming up they want to claim..."I never said Defund the Police".
The real "insurrection" was the absentee voter fraud that installed our puppet pretend President. The J6 protestors knew it and they were right. They should have worn pussy hats to get better coverage.
College Educated suburban white women in Wisconsin should be required to spend a week in Milwaukee's Metcalfe Park neighborhood. Check out those crime stats. Better yet, maybe that defund the police asshole Mandela Barnes should spend some time there. They could wear pussy hats too.
AND the Capitol Police opened the doors and let them in. Some insurrection!!!
Whataboutism defense. It works for three year olds. It's an adjunct to the "it's not fair" excuse deployed by toddlers throughout history. Both groups of Party leaders use these techniques to good effect because infantilized adults are easier to control.
in·fan·til·ize
/inˈfantilīz/
verb
past tense: infantilized; past participle: infantilized
treat (someone) as a child or in a way which denies their maturity in age or experience.
"seeing yourself as a victim infantilizes you"
Mandela Barnes? Really? Is that the best you have got, Democrats? You are not sending us your best.
I don’t recall CNN calling the attack on the Federal Courthouse in Portland an armed Insurrection, yet officers were harmed with lasers and incendiary devices during a siege that lasted days and was attended by the Democratic Portland Mayor.
Dumb Lefty Mark: "If Johnson is in Wisconsin doing events, his internal polling cannot be good."
LOL
Johnson's internal polls look solid (he is definitely leading) against marxist Mandela Barnes who is quite the horrific candidate. Johnson's messaging and ads have been on point and effective. Similar to Kari Lake in Arizona.
Johnson simply epitomizes the type of candidate that is always working hard and runs as if he is 10 pts behind.
We U We U We U
Send in the leftist mind Crime police.
How is he wrong?
The media(D) loyal - call it that. Where were all the guns?
Not cool if you remember the "iconic" 1976 Boston photo.
But this "stupid thing of the week" stuff is getting tiresome. It just seems like media manipulation, rather than a revelation of anything real.
I wish he had specifically called out the Kenosha riots, to remind everyone of Tony Evers’s dilatory response to rioters trying to burn the city down..
I'm unfamiliar with the use of a flagpole in the armed insurrection. Do they use the pointy end like a foil or the side like a sabre? I assume the flag is removed or it would be pretty pointless.
NO mention of the two people murdered by the Democrats at the capitol that day, I see.
Ashley Babbitt is well known (and it appears all the leftists have settled on the narrative "good! She deserved to be murdered!" which is, of course, not how they view Rittenhouse).
And Roseanne Boylen. This story of course warms Inga, Howard, and the rest of the leftist hearts.
Boylen (Boylend?) was outside the US Capitol Jan 6. Never set foot inside it of her own will. The crowd eddied and flowed and she ended up next to some Capitol Police. They seized her, dragged her down a tunnel, and then proceeded to beat her to death with their batons. They then dragged her corpse through the Capitol building as a trophy.
She is the literal definition of a peaceful protestor, never set foot inside the Capitol, and the Democrats had her beaten to death in cold blood. I'm surprised Ann hasn't ever examined this story.
I always thought leftists were opposed to police killing peaceful protestors (They certainly get upset over George Floyd!) but they all wet themselves with glee over what happened to Boylen.

Hate to say it, but I'm not very confident in Johnson's or Michels' chances of winning here in Wisconsin. The City of Milwaukee is openly harvesting and collecting absentee ballots under the guise of "get out the vote". Other than the drop box ruling...the same fraud still exists here in Wisconsin, and nobody can stop it. Racine basically put their drop boxes on wheels.
The other problem is the Red areas are not engaging in ballot harvesting and voter fraud to compete with Milwaukee and Racine. I'm sure Madison and Green Bay are in on the action as well.
And then you have all the college educated white women...I pray I'm wrong...But I expect Kenosha Burning Evers to get re-elected, and Barnes to head to the Senate.

This is the concern: that Johnson will not be able to exceed the margin necessary to overcome the fraud.

Whataboutism defense.
Whataboutism is when someone changes the subject.
Person A: There is a lot of poverty in Soviet Russia.
Person B: Yes, but what about the racial discrimination in the USA?
That is an example of whataboutism.
=======
The following is not an example of whataboutism:
Person A: The violence of the January 6 incident should be condemned.
Person B: What about the violence of the George Floyd protests a few months earlier? Shouldn't that violence be condemned likewise?

I do not understand your logic. Please explain it.
Using language as a weapon only works when you allow it and start speaking it, too. Why play the 'hypocrisy' game? Try laughing out loud and calling them an assh*le instead.
“Mandela Barnes? Really? Is that the best you have got, Democrats? You are not sending us your best.”
He is far better than Ron Johnson, who went to Russia on July 4th, 2018 to hobnob with Putin.
“Other than the drop box ruling...the same fraud still exists here in Wisconsin, and nobody can stop it.”
Which is none. Time to stop with the fantasy.
Did Barnes finally graduate from college that he claimed when he ran for Lt. Governor? I did see he finally paid his taxes...
What our Governor & Lt. Governor said after Kenosha and didn't say after Waukesha is really all I need to know. Neither should wield political power.
"In summer 2020, leftists used bricks, water bottles, flagpoles, fireworks, Molotov cocktails, anything but a gun as a weapon to destroy cities"
If only.
In Atlanta, BLM 'occupied' a Wendy's where a drunk driver had been shot while resisting arrest. This occupation went on with the full connivance of the Atlanta authorities.
Armed protesters blockaded the street and shot and killed 8 year old Secoriea Turner when her family tried to navigate around the blockade.

In Seattle, again with the full co-operation of the Democrat controlled city government, Antifa and BLM set up an "autonomous zone". This zone was complete with a local warlord who was filmed handing out assault rifles to any who wanted one.
Two teenagers were murdered.

He's right, you know...
If I'm not mistaken, Johnson has fuck-you money, so win or lose he'll be just fine.

Ron Johnson ... went to Russia on July 4th, 2018, to hobnob with Putin.
That accusation is rather odd.
Do you really think that was the purpose of Johnson's trip to Russia?
Inga claims there was no vote fraud but somehow the Left is always adamantly opposed to verification when their candidate might lose an honest election. However when they lose, they claim fraud but never actually go through the process of verifying that and I have yet to see Republicans fighting to prevent voting verification. Al Gore tried that stunt in 2000 when he wanted to cherry pick the counties that were favorable to him. Bush fought that by having every county checked. The Supreme Court was right when it ruled you don't change election laws during an election. Yet the Democrats have managed to do that in one or more states since 2000. 2016 Clinton said she lost due to fraud and Russia, Russia, Russia! But she never sued to have recounts where she allegedly suffered from vote fraud. 2020 Trump alleges with good evidence fraud but the Democrats fight tooth and nail from having a vote verification. That won't change the outcome but if there isn't fraud it vindicate them and destroy Trump so the subtext is the Democrats know they won by fraud and the exposure would be devastating to them.
Inga says that Johnson "hobnobs" with Putin... but fiercely defends Hillary giving Putin our Uranium and just shoveling cash at Bill Clinton. That's perfectly fine, see. And Obama promising Putin more flexibility after an election? What's not to lvoe for Inga?
Let alone Biden kiboshing pipelines to Europe that aren't under Russian control. And good old Joe Biden openly giving Putin permission to have a 'minor incursion' into Ukraine.
And I'm sure Inga is immensely proud of Ted Kennedy committing treason with the Soviets to try to get rid of Reagan.
When Democrats do stuff, they call Republicans traitors for even thinking about doing the same thing.
The use of "Whatabaoutism" as a way to discredit your opponents is the last refuge of a scoundrel whose ox isn't the one being gored. We either have rules applied fairly or we do not.
Inga - All sorts of Democrats have hob-nobbed with Putin.
Hillary is a big one. You're a big one. You're a big fan of hers.
Inga-
Here are some photos of Hillary smiling and talking to Putin.
and another Hillary and Putin All smiles!
and another
Here is Bill Clinton and Putin
All smiles!
More Bill and Poot
Smiling - gazing at each other.... Probably giggling inside knowing each insider can profit off the other.
It's obvious Putin is really into Chuck Schumer.
Has anyone ever seen Vance and a Drago in the same room at the same time? There is something eerily similar about these two commenters.
What's that you say, love? ...Uranium deals? ooo I'm listening
The real argument Johnson and others should be making is that we don't know what Jan 6th was until we look at the entirety of the event.
Promise MORE investigations and MORE facts when Republicans are in control of Congress. Release all the videos, look into the National Guard, delve into the FBI.
God knows Pelosi doesn't want that.
Passionate young people demonstrating for justice is one thing,
craven insurrectionists taking over the country is another.
Capiche?
Mike S, my preferred argument looks more like "Why? Why should I condemn the J6 viloence? I learned from YOU that such things are good, and to be encouraged, not condemned."
The current midterm election has really turned out to be about stupid, meaningless things.
Good thing most voters are privately suffering immensely from inflation, insane fuel prices and the threat of war under an indisputably failed foreign policy. Would it pain the politicians and mostly their journo-inquisitors to focus on what's on the voters' minds and demand some ideas/plans from the bozo's who want to take seats in DC in November?
@Howard -- I agree that whataboutery is an all too common "excuse" used by both sides. But Johnson was not making excuses. He was pointing out, correctly, that the phrase "armed insurrection" is inapt without firearms. Furthermore, calling attention to a double standard is not whataboutery.
He is far better than Ron Johnson, who went to Russia on July 4th, 2018 to hobnob with Putin.
Did he show up with a bright, shiny Reset Button while promising to have more flexibility after the election?
Yo, Mark. Dick Blumenthal is actively campaigning in CT. He's up by 17 points. Its what any Senator does when he's up for re-election. Hell, even Ted Kennedy made campaign appearances in MA when he was up.
@Mike Petrik: the BLM protests that devolved into violent destructive riots were usually precipitated by violent police overreactions. The violent ANTIFA and BLM rioters were not attacking the seat of our federal government.
On the other hand, the insurrectionist who attacked the Congress inside the Capitol building during a lawful proceeding to confer the peaceful transfer of power armed themselves with weapons of opportunity. I'm sure you were taught as a boy that just about anything handy could be used to arm yourself with a weapon like a pen, pencil, ruler or even tightly rolled up newspaper or preferably a magazine.
the BLM protests that devolved into violent destructive riots were usually precipitated by violent police overreactions.
That statement is rather odd.
Howard: "@Mike Petrik: the BLM protests that devolved into violent destructive riots were usually precipitated by violent police overreactions. The violent ANTIFA and BLM rioters were not attacking the seat of our federal government."
LOL
The lies flow effortlessly.
