Here is the full clip for all you clowns who say it’s out of context. Biden first falsely claims he “signed a law” to cancel student loan debt, then says he “got it passed by a vote or two.”

Ron Klain needs to tell Joe that the 8th Circuit has stopped it.
I've said so for years - It's OK for leftists to lie.
My guess is all the democrat loyalists will buy it. (either swallow the lie, or defend the lie via the hack-D press)
It is a total lie. LIE.
Biden's tax payer funded debt-cancellation scheme was accomplished with his executive order.
This "PPP loan" gotcha shit has got to stop. PPP was issued as forgiveable loans. They were literally loans written that they would be forgiven if the use of them met certain criteria. In other words: Free money.
Student loans were taken with the explicit written criteria that they wouldn't be forgiven and couldn't be excused in bankruptcy.
It's an intellectual embarassment to Biden, Congress, news channels, pundits, and others who keep trying to say "Republicans who took PPP and got them forgiven now upset at federal..."
This is just Joe being the liar he has always been. Now, I'm not sure he knows the difference but in 1987 he was a lot younger but still a liar.
Sad. And scary.
I love the way some people try to use "out of context" as some sort of get-out-of-logic-jail-free card. If you want to be taken seriously, you have to come up with a plausible alternative explanation that is supported by that context. Otherwise, you're just revealing yourself to be a partisan hack who doesn't care what the truth is.
So how are Biden's handlers/puppet masters going to walk this one back?
Too bad WaPo got rid of their lie tracker since this POTUS woulda broke it. Biden might be congenitally unable to tell the truth based on his 50-year history of lying his ass off every time a microphone appears. This must be that Dark Maga he was going on about.
One hopes that Biden isn't in charge.
It just occurred to me that he might "just" be lying.
Not ONE propaganda Democracy Dies In Darkness Media outlet(D) will call him on it.
I see my fellow commenters all assume he is lying. I'm still naive enough to assume the opposite. "How could he get away with it?" is my baseline thought process. But really, what are the consequences if he's lying? There are none and he muddies the waters.
He can ride a bike!
Again. Anybody who would vote for this delusional old fool, is delusional themselves.
81 million voted for this? He has been clueless and angry his entire career. Just more obvious now that he is clearly losing his mind.
Can anyone defend this pathetic behavior anymore?? or openly admit that they voted for basement biden?
Original Mike.
Huh? It was an executive order. Congress did not pass it.
If Trump said this there would instant and widespread calls to invoke the 25th Amendment. Oh, but that means Kamala would become President!
Hoisted on their own petard.
Of course it passed by a vote or two. The drop boxes arrived at the White House last week.
Of course it passed by a vote or two. The drop boxes arrived at the White House last week.
He's getting worse. This can't go on for too much longer unless they put him back in the basement and out of sight.
I'm sure my oldest son and wife, the Portlandians, and my cleaning lady would argue this is true - if they would ever deign to argue. 😆
Which is scarier? That Joe is blatantly lying, or that whoever put the executive order in front of him to sign told him it was a law that just passed by a vote or two, and Joe didn't have the ability to distinguish between an enrolled act of Congress and an executive order?
Forgivable PPP loans were for people to keep employees during the lockdown that the goddamn government mandated. The borrowers did not choose the fucking lockdown like students chose loans freely.
Original Mike said...I see my fellow commenters all assume he is lying. I'm still naive enough to assume the opposite.
I don't think Biden's lying. I think he lacks the mental capacity to tell what the truth is. Here's the thought process, to the extent there was a thought process:
A) Bills become law when congress passes and I sign them
B) This rule left my desk with my signature
C) Therefore, this started as a bill that congress passed and now it is a law
Look at the Democrat denials in the comments. Not only do they "choose [their] truth over facts," they choose it over their lyin' eyes.
Their dispicableness is no longer beyond belief.
If there is any justice in this world, the mass loan forgiveness will be permanently blocked by the courts and the main lasting impact of this episode will be that young people become slightly better at critical thinking, and also realize that such political bribes can't be relied upon, particularly when the politician admits in advance that he doesn't have the constitutional authority to enact them.
He is not lying. Lying requires that what you said is not true to you. . I bet he sincerely believes that it got passed. That is what his staff told him. They also told him that his popularity is 60%+, that inflation and gas prices are dropping and that there is no problem at the boarder. Come on man!!!
He has minimal contact with any policy decision or ramifications and signs what he is told to sign and then goes home to DE. He will be shocked when he is blamed for the possible R wave and is pushed aside by the same people who are telling him how great and popular he is.
Our President should legitimately be in an institution and is living in a fantasy world within a staff created bubble of information.
I can believe that they might have told Biden that the loan forgiveness was approved by Congress.
Kari Lake does it best.
Rejoice! Double dip chocolate chip ice cream passed by a couple of votes. Again! Sign that sucker into law before your handlers change their mind.
The Costanza defense holds here- Biden really believes it was passed by Congress. It is even quite possible the executive order was put in front him by whoever is using him as a hand puppet and told him he was signing a newly passed Congressional act.
Does Joe ever speak in public without lying? Sure, all politicians do, frequently. Many are bullshitters. But there are gradations. Joe just seems in a class of his own: he always was an egregious liar, even about easily checkable personal stuff, but his decline has made him lose whatever grip he had.
Biden first falsely claims he “signed a law” to cancel student loan debt, then says he “got it passed by a vote or two.”
Biden has always made up shit like this.
He's sloppy and he doesn't remember or care about stuff like making law.
The scary question is whether he's so addled that he can no longer tell the difference between fact and fiction.
Conspiracy theory: Kamala Harris was picked as veep so Biden would stay in office for all four years no matter how bad his mind gets.
Conspiracy theory #2: Dr. Jill Biden is in charge and will run more and more of the Biden White House.
That's Joe's Superpower.
If you don't know what you can and you can't do, you can do anything.
His staff is hoping that just applies to politics, and Joe doesn't go George Reeves on them.
No Pinocchios do to Biden's... old age. That's the ticket.
Living his truth.
Lie after lie. Day after day.
Every fucking day.
So, Joe Biden said a bunch of things that are untrue. That is news in the same sense that it is news that the sun will rise tomorrow—and Althouse knows all about that.
The only real mistake you can make with Biden is believing anything he says at face value.
I note that the same people who complained about Trump’s “lies”in endless letters to the editor for the local Winchester Star are strangely silent about Joe Biden inability to tell the truth.
Hey! All politicians lie; Joe merely raises it to an art form.
Blogger Hunter Biden's tax payer funded Hooker said..."Original Mike. Huh? It was an executive order. Congress did not pass it."
I know that. I don't know what in my comments seems to indicate otherwise.
This cat fight would make a great movie!
Addled male president, clueless, out to lunch.
Diabolical Vice President and Diabolical First Lady have a diabolical shit-storm behind the scenes.
Think Dr. Strangelove mixed with Catwoman.
Halle Berry as Kamala Harris
Michelle Pfeiffer as Dr. Jill Biden
But, but, but…the alternative to Biden lies is more Trump! Thus we must defend Biden!
@tim maquire (12:15pm): Plausible, but the "I got it passed by a vote or two" complicates that explanation.
Joe Biden will almost certainly resign before Republicans take over the House.
Now is this because Joe Bide is a fibber or because he is addled and doesn't remember things correctly?
Maybe it wasn't that thing, but it was definitely some other thing!

Ah Joe--what a joy to be both senile and possessed of a rich fantasy life. Facts and truth? Joe don't need no steenkin facts!
PPP was issued as forgiveable loans. They were literally loans written that they would be forgiven if the use of them met certain criteria. In other words: Free money.
Yes, let's be clear. PPP was not a money give-away. It was compensation to employees and employers for a government taking, specifically for the government prohibiting them from doing revenue-producing business.
I don't think the kids sitting there were stunned into silence by his blatant lies, I think they thought it was true.
At least he remembers, even in dementia, that these things are supposed to be done at the legislative rather than the executive level. I will be ecstatic if, at some point, the Feds return to doing things as the Constitution empowers them to: The Congress legislates; the executive administers and conducts foreign and military affairs; and SCOTUS interprets the law. Governing through executive order and continuing resolutions needs to be stopped. We fought a war to get rid of a king's executive orders. Our Presidents need to be reminded that they are not kings.
Choklit choklit chip.
I would think these comments will be useful for the Republican state AGs trying to block Biden's EO. The Administration previously claimed the EO was legal based on a Bush era law, but President Biden just said it was based on a law he signed. I'm glad the 8th Circuit halted Biden's plans.
Biden's inner monologue: 'If they believe I got over 80 million votes, I could tell them anything, anything.'
Can someone with dementia think like that Mr. President?
Look “I think it’s a legitimate thing to be concerned about anyone’s age, including mine,” Biden told Capehart. “I think that’s totally legitimate.”
The Kids.
Change-Makers. I agree they would be well qualified for a retail career.
Useful idiots and the propagandists at NowThis News working together.
It's not a lie if you believe it's true.
Plus, the video of Biden has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operations. If I'm right, this is Russia trying to influence how Americans vote in the mid-terms.
Joe (or whoever) came up with a plan to "forgive" $10K or $20K. As challenges have been made, thousand (even tens of thousands) of students no longer qualify in order to make the various challenges moot. But, people wanted $50K (at least) forgiven - they won't be happy. Those who paid their own loans and/or loans of their children are getting nothing - they won't be happy. So why do this? If the plan is to buy votes he wouldn't have gotten anyway , it will only be marginally successful. One student I know who is $150K in debt with student loans, said she would take it of course, but lowering the interest rate or streamlining the public service forgiveness program would have been more helpful to her.
I believe that he has lied so much throughout his career (sic) and got away with it, coupled with his cognitive decline, that he now truly believes what he says, and ‘at this point, what difference does it make?’.
I wouldn't stand too close to Kamala Harris these days.... If something should happen to her, and then Biden get removed before January, then Pelosi becomes president.
She has to be thinking about that, or at least her chief of staff is.
"PPP" is "Paycheck Protection Program". Does he really think the employees of those congress people should have been put out of work and not paid just because their bosses also happen to hold elected office?
Not everyone has spent their whole life as a politician. A lot of these people had businesses that they continue to own. Having a life outside of government is just one of the many things that Biden can't comprehend.
I wouldn't stand too close to Kamala Harris these days.... If something should happen to her, and then Biden get removed before January, then Pelosi becomes president.
And Julie Newmar as Nancy Pelosi.
Or Anne Hathaway!
He's pretty addled now, but his highly successful political reflex is to confront hard questions with an attack--spoken in a tone of "Look, these are the facts, man, and those bad people on the other side are twisting the facts because they are bad people, who want to enslave black people and cheat you out of your hard-earned benefits."
It has worked--with the liberal media running interference, by the time the "facts" get sorted out, the media has moved on and it's just Joe being Joe.
He has always been a vicious lying prick. No joke.
I haven't seen this theory anywhere else, but the most charitable explanation, if he isn't just lying through his ass and hasn't been deluded by his handlers, is that he *thinks* (pardon the expression) that this was somehow part of the blatantly falsely named Inflation Reduction Act. I come to that conclusion only because that one is the most recent obscenity that was, in fact, enacted "by a vote or two" in the Senate.

I'm coming around to the view that President Kamala, bad as she would be, might not be as bad as President Senility.
Typical Biden. And I do mean that. He has been spewing this nonsense for his entire political career and probably since he learned to speak. The only question here is if this is the standard Biden BS or the dementia Biden BS.
minnesota farm guy,
"The Congress legislates; the executive administers and conducts foreign and military affairs; and SCOTUS interprets the law. "
Two out of three is not bad. The constitution does not authorize the court to "interpret laws"; it authorizes it to judge cases.
The fact-checkers will rate this "mostly true".
The true state of the American republic will revealed if Kamala becomes POTUS. She will be as detached from truth as Biden. Her word salad, which appears to be the only language she knows, will say nothing. There is no Wizard of OZ behind a curtain. The bureaucracy assembled by 90 years of the advances of the administrative state will continue to implement the restrictive fantasies born on the Progressive Era.
Nothing will change. We will continue to live in a society where all the rules are ad hoc and applied to the advantage of the favored and against the disfavored. Fertility rates will continue to fall.
Want to read about it? Try "The Hollow Men" by T. S. Eliot, published in 1925.
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.
Senile.. senile... senile... senile... senile...
Do you get the drift?
Either 25th Amendment or impeach him after mid-terms.
Do it for the country folks!!!
