1. This is your pilot speaking.
2. The puppies are not yet ready to play.
4. If you baby-talk, will your friend baby-talk back?
5. Drew Barrymore really wants you to go out in the rain.
6. Backstage with The Beach Boys.
7. When Sting had to endure the Jose Feliciano version of "I'll Be Watching You."
9. When the Wisconsin man goes to Hawaii.
10. The deadline gave us purpose.

And let this answer Bob Boyd's question which had us laughing like mad last night.
And now the Chicoms know how much I admire the Beach Boys' vocals.
Tik toks I never watched: "When Sting had to endure....." anything.
Tik toks I desperately wanted to watch but was electronically thwarted: "Drew Barrymore" anything.
Drew Barrymore tiktok comments: 31.6K
We are so ready for you, Mr. Xi!!
I'm a sucker for acapella, so it's Beach Boys (though 7 Bridges Road is my fav pre-concert warmup.).
But Jesus, Althouse, you're an OG blogger: it's LOL, not "laughing like mad." Steve Jobs or someone went to a lot of trouble inventing these inter web conventions in the 80s. Can't have people backsliding into English in the 20s.
"Yeah, well, depends on the artist... You know, Jose Feliciano, you got no complaints."
That was painful watching that rendition of "Every Breath You Take".
I had to stop watching Sting. Too painful! That doesn't mean it wasn't good.
The Drew Barrymore video has the charm of early Tiktok: Very very short.
I don't like the baby talk videos.
The winner is Wisconsin man in Hawaii. He grew on me.
The last one is exactly how my brain works.
The pilot video would be better if it was superimposed over that movie you're trying to finish up. The Dad teaching his daughter to skateboard. Sweetness overload. I like Charlie Berens, follow him on Instagram, where I saw that video.
I would say 3 / 10 / 9 / 1
The others were just okay. If a friend started babytalking to me, I'd just be saying "What is wrong with you!?"
I like the Moonstruck video. Is it just me, or does Drew Barrymore look like she borrowed her chin from Wayland Flowers' Madame puppet?
Never miss the opportunity to enjoy Drew Barrymore.
I couldn't take 4, 5. 7 and 8. Enjoyed the rest of them and that's a high percentage for me. I liked 1 and 10 the best.
the deadline voice goes in and out of Alan Rickman impersonation, just a little. I detected an accent also.
OK, I really laughed at Moonstruck in the shower, and also the brain was funny.
@Lilly - good dog. I think Wayland Flower's and Drew got that chin from the same place - a whole line of famous Barrymores.
Charlie Behrens is awesome, and a fixture on Ace of Spades HQ.
I have seen the skateboard video before. Common in my world.
The deadline sketch hit home.
Thank you.
You found Charlie!!! Haha- I’ve got sand in all my parts!!!
Not even clicking on Sting.
I’m traumatized by every breath you take- in HS a brother/sister duo sat at the piano in the music room every freaking chance they got and sang that. Fingernails on chalkboard, folks.
The last one spoke to me. The story of my life. But I hope there's a part 2 in which the brain says, "Here is how we'll remedy the situation."
Poor Sting - something I never thought would cross my mind.
PS I'm not usually a fan of Drew Barrymore, but that brief video was charming. It seemed sincere, as if she was a real human being and not a celebrity.
Interestingly a Wisconsin man went to Hawaii and changed the world forever. This Wisconsin guy invented the subculture of surfing in Southern California that now had spread around the entire globe. He was born in Milwaukee and died in Ashland. As a lifelong surfer - I've been surfing since 1965 - he was always the source. Tom Blake. Wikipedia him. A from Wisconsin that changed Hawaii and the world.
I liked the Wisconsin guy, especially the part about how "haole" loosely translated means "wears SPF-135" but the last one spoke to me. I am so good at ignoring deadlines, I put the "pro" in procrastination.
"You found Charlie!!!"
I've followed him for a long time. Have I never linked?
Winsconsin guy was funny.
#7. Sting looks like he wants to cry.
Loved "this is your pilot speaking".
Liked the puppies very much because...well...puppies.
Grown men should never talk like a baby ever. And certainly not to other grown men.
Drew Barrymore is not changing my opinion of her from years ago.
THE WINNER: The Beach Boys. That sound....Oh...that sound. They were so great. And as great as they were, they were underrated. Brian Wilson influenced so many of the other greats.
Sting is a perfectionist musician. That had to kill him. It was killing me.
Moonstruck: One of the all-time great screenplays. By John Patrick Shanley who also wrote the underrated "Five Corners".
SECOND PLACE: WISCONSIN GUY IN HAWAII. Funny stuff. SPF-135.
The deadline was pretty good, too. But could not stand up to the winners.
Great selections tonight.
Feliciano murdered Light My Fire more than 50 years ago. I think that's what he does. He covers songs...until they stop breathing.
Am I the only one who liked the girl afraid to drop in?…one father-daughter dynamic 2022 in a nutshell. Plus, she can drop in.
Ha! Poor Sting. That had to have been painful. But why on earth was he seated right next to the Swedish royal family (with Crown Princess Victoria nodding along to the music)? It was like a scene from a David Lynch movie…
1, 6, 7, 9, and 10 are all very good -- nice assortment tonight.
I'll give the nod to the Beach Boys, but the shark pilot is close.
It's not the first song Feliciano butchered. One of the most overrated musical artists ever.
Still, it doesn't come close to the savagery of Cat Stevens doing the Sam Cooke classic "Another Saturday Night". It warranted the death penalty.
Barbara- I just watched the Father/daughter.
That is what America should look like.
What a great Dad!!
1 and 2 were feeble. 5, 6, and 8 were good. 3, 9, and 10 were excellent. Baby talk guy needs to turn his act over to somebody who can do it better. So do Sting and Jose.
Now that the ChiComs have all our data, what will they do with it?
I always get some smiles or laughs out of Wisconsin Guy...never paid attention to his name so thanks commenters...now I know.
Liked the shark pilot...really captured the muffled deep tones of the captain. I have never understood why I trust the technology to get a plane to fly when they can't perfect the audio system within the plane.
#1 sounds like ATC, not a pilot.
I've followed him for a long time. Have I never linked?
Does he have a tag?
To answer your question: I think you may have.
“ Does he have a tag?”
I haven’t been doing tags for even my TikTok favorites like Ricky Gourmet and the plate king.
#3, #9, #10
If I had to choose I'd pick "she's afraid to drop in." I've worked that way with younger sisters and brothers, nephews, nieces. "OOO, I'm scared" changed by effort to "Let go, I do it mineself." A moment that doesn't often get celebrated though it needs no more celebration than itself. But in these dark days, nice to see, there it is, still going on.

As for #4, though I am not a mob character from The Godfather, I think my verbal reaction to a friend talking to me in baby talk would be similar to the reaction one of those characters would have.
