The braids! And the father in jorts. Ok, the prima donna horse was pretty funny.
Son House was one of the true greats of Delta blues.
1. The Blues. Such a gift brings tears to my eyes.
2. The Beach. Very funny!
3. The Braids. I would never, but when in Ghana…
4. The Bug. I know that moth…
I say bug- so weird, I just saved one from our milkhouse yesterday morning! It was on the bulk tank and I let it crawl onto a paper towel and I put him/her/it out in a crabapple tree amongst the blossoms. They are special. During the summer I’m always saving butterflies, dragonflies and moths from the windows inside the barn. Our tunnel ventilation sucks them in.
I know. I know.
I’m kindof a nut.
W/a candy coated shell ;0)
That popcorn gadget was originally intended to make puffed rice, the cereal shot from guns.
So I am torn between Nurse Julie & Son House. Nurse Julie because she is a hospice nurse, and hospice nurses are some of the most helpful people I have ever met in my life. They have helped me & my family through hard times on 3 occasions. So I default to hospice nurses.
Son House & I, however, have so much in common. We are both sons of the Delta, both lived in Tallulah, LA & New Orleans, LA, both of us worked on a farm, both were pastors, and both are avid blues aficionados. There are 2 differences between us--I can't sing a lick, and I haven't done time in prison for shooting anyone--yet.
So Nurse Julie is my pick, with Son House a close second.
For me it was a tie between #3 Nurse Julie's terrible date, and #6 the guy who invented the beach. Very funny.
Doesn't that color doom the moth to predators?
Biology is the last frontier I tell you.
Yeah, for some reason I doubted all those kernels were going to fit inside as popped corn.
He’s not wearing jorts.
Sheldon Cooper wasn't impressed with Fancy Feast.
"Death Letter Blues" Son House.
I'm actually using that to learn slide guitar. I recommend listening to Son House.....well.....and of all of the artists he influenced. Muddy Waters, Mick Jagger, Lightning Hopkins, and the others.
I wonder if #3's date was named Jerry.
1) Son House (amazing)
2) Beach (pretty funny)
3) Mr. Feasts (great work and follow up- Her design was better.)
I’m going with the popcorn. Can’t wait to try it out.
The deadpan popper was pretty cool.
I found the rosy maple moth fascinating and got curious what it looked like in its caterpillar form. If I had come upon the caterpillar, I would never have guessed it would transform into such a froth of yellow and pinkness...very interesting. In the earthquake video, why wasn't the ground trembling right outside the house?
Fancy Feast was good. Hospice Nurse Julie was also good, but it's "picture", not pitcher.
The Fancy Feast woman is pretty (in an unconventional way), but one fears she will end up alone with only her cats to comfort her.
She is probably too young to remember "Morris," the Fancy Feast spokescat. But then I probably am too. Fancy Feast wasn't fancy enough for Morris who preferred Nine Lives.
But today, isn't calling your product "fancy" telling people that it most assuredly isn't? Real sophisticates don't use that word.
Son House was a huge influence on a young Jack White. You can listen to the White Stripes rendition of "Death-letter Blues" on their early album 'De Stijl'.
The dude she went out with was kind of a jerk, but my prediction is that Hospice Nurse Julie will die alone.
Glad Nurse Julie knows she is definitely NOT the problem....
They never are.
I loved the horse.
But we were in Galveston yesterday, and I was complaining about all the same beach things - plus that guy is always funny - so maybe the beach one was my favorite.
The horse was hilarious.
The popcorn one was especially funny to me, though - some time ago, I saw a "life lesson" for children who are concerned about not keeping up with their peers. The analogy was to compare them to popcorn. All the kernels are put in the same pan, in the same oil, in the same heat, but they don't all pop at the same time. And there's nothing inherently better about the ones that pop first.
I liked the analogy, but it also made me think about how cool it would be if popcorn kernels did all pop at the same time - just a long period of anticipation and then a huge BANG as they all popped.
And this dang video actually did it!
The horse.
The beach.
The fancy cat.
The popcorn.
The earthquake.
The hair.
The bad date.
The thing about the popcorn popper is that it's easily explainable. A kernel of popcorn explodes because the pressure inside the kernel is much greater than the pressure of the surrounding air. If the surrounding air is also pressurized to the same pressure as the inside of the kernel, the kernel won't pop. Then, if the air pressure is suddenly released, the kernels will all pop at the same time. It would be interesting to see if you get a higher percentage of kernels popping this way instead of the traditional use of hot oil to pop popcorn. Plus, this method is probably healthier since you don't need to use oil.
Quaker Oats Puffed Rice ("the cereal shot from guns") uses (used?) the same mechanism, but on a large scale.
Son House but the horse and the nurse made me laugh. The popcorn popper was interesting but this method seems like a lot of work and fuss.
One of the long list of things I don't understand is why it is that Tik Tok is such a dominant platform. The concept is very good, of course. But why aren't competitors emerging?
