They want the high gas prices and are tickled to death to place the blame on Putin while they continue their destruction of our domestic energy industry. "They" being whoever is running Joe Biden.

I watched both the Hulu series and the HBO documentary on Elizabeth Holmes. The real Elizabeth Holmes had a clumsy walk, but it was purposeful and, sometimes a bit predatory. Amanda Seyfried, the actor who played her, picked up on that and made the walk like that of a praying mantis....Neat bit of acting, but the greater actor is, of course, Elizabeth Holmes. She was quite convincing, and she played to a tough audience. Statesmen, generals, financial reporters, savvy investors. She had them all convinced.

As a con artist, I would rate her higher than Bernie Madoff. Madoff will die in prison, but Holmes just recently had a baby. I don't think this young mother will spend more than a few years behind bars. Her life will have a second act....I read the Webster bio of Freud. Freud seems to have been the greatest con artist of our era. He became a world historical figure and his scams and shams are the subtext of our culture.

Remember the internet saying, ‘we can’t have nice things’?

Well, apparently, that is still sadly true.

I picked up a distraught woman tonight who told me her tale of woe.

She told me her boyfriend took her phone and Zelled (digital $ transfer) over to himself the max $2Gs and then blocked her number from his telephone. I told her to file a police report and then take that report to her bank. I thought of telling her about phone locks but, maybe she wasn’t telling me the whole story.

I’m predicting Zelle is going to be discontinued. Too tempting an opportunity for mischief.

It turns out the FBI leadership lied to its agents investigating the phony Trump/Russia collusion about where the claims actually came from.

FBI leadership told the investigating agents that the white paper “evidence” of this so-called Trump/Russia collusion came from the DOJ and an anonymous source. https://nypost.com/2022/05/23/fbi-told-agents-trump-russia-data-source-was-from-doj-not-clinton-tied-lawyer/

DC is one big orgy of lying progressives.

wendybar म्हणाले...

It is time to disband the FBI who has become the gestapo of the progressive party now.
THERE had better be prison time for many of these traitors or there WILL be a civil war.

Why do people in the media continue to use the term “bombshell” unironically?

"Putin's invasion of Ukraine has put the US on a war footing to get off of fossil fuels." - Bloomberg ticker this morning.

That little bit was almost certainly directly dictated by the Biden administration.

It's really hard to keep up with the progressive lies, when it is WAPO lying in this headline this time. YOU wonder WHY there are so many uninformed people in the country?? Remember when the Police SHOT George Floyd?? Neither do I, but WAPO reported on it in a tweet!!! https://twitter.com/MrAndyNgo/status/1528926438447009794?

William, did either or both of the productions make any direction connection between her behavior and the worlds of her parents? Weren't one or both in PR, for example?

I had forgotten that the NYT and the WaPo won the Pulitzer Prize in 2018 for the Big Lie.

For deeply sourced, relentlessly reported coverage in the public interest that dramatically furthered the nation’s understanding of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and its connections to the Trump campaign, the President-elect’s transition team and his eventual administration. (The New York Times entry, submitted in this category, was moved into contention by the Board and then jointly awarded the Prize).

Wow. $15,000 they got paid for that. The reporters ought to cut Hillary a check. (They probably did).

Saint Croix म्हणाले...

Not as bad as praising Stalin and hiding his homicides in the Ukraine.

But that's two times the NYT has fed a massive lie to the world. Both involving Russia.

I'm old enough to remember when "bombshells" were generally blonde.

boatbuilder म्हणाले...

So Sussmann's defense is that the FBI at the top knew all along that he was working for Hillary.

Which has the virtue of being entirely consistent with how things played out.

I'm way too cynical to think that Comey might end up in jail (or that the MSM will even talk about it). But anytime one of my lib friends pretends that we have an objective media I just mention "Russiagate" and the subject gets changed.

Worse. They were with the government, and her father became a VP at Enron, the corrupt, fraudulent energy giant that went bankrupt.

"The Washington Post bleated, "Again: There's no evidence Hillary Clinton triggered the Russia probe."

"There's no evidence" is a non-denial denial.

The real news is the number of wagons circling to protect Her Hillaryness is down to NYT, NPR and WaPo. " - Don Surber

Once again showing exactly WHICH news sources are in bed with Hillary and her party. One big orgy.

William म्हणाले...

@Kai Aker: The Hulu series showed that Elizabeth Holmes' father was an executive with the Enron organization, but they don't draw any direct lines.....She was bright enough to con all those people, set all those cogs spinning and smoothly interlocking and all to produce a product that didn't exist--or maybe the product was her salesmanship. How could someone so bright be so self deluded? The Hulu series implies at some basic level, she's crazy. Could be, but maybe the crazy was part of the con.

Kai Akker म्हणाले...

Interesting, William. Two of the larger period's biggest frauds with participants in one family.

This might be a sacrilegious comparison -- it's a contrast, actually. But just as one can read the gospels and wonder at what point Jesus fully understood his role and his mission -- in some respects, it seemed to evolve and develop, as his travels ranged about. So, by contrast, but in a somewhat related way -- at what point did Elizabeth Holmes transform from someone who thought just looking the part was enough (as I imagine her; I may be overly generous to her naivete) to a flat-out knowing fraud?

I am afraid the answer could be pretty early on. She is probably a far less interesting sociopath than I am describing here.
