Thompson did a terrible job of running for the Senate in 2012 (losing to Tammy Baldwin). He seemed old and very low energy. "Thompson started at plus 18... But he finished at minus 14." And that was 10 years ago!
Here's a quote of his from 2016, aimed at Trump, as quoted by Trump: "Don, I really like you. Get the hell out of here.… You’re not going to win this state.... But if anything changes, I’ll call you."
Thompson is 80 years old. I can't believe he's offering himself up as a candidate again.

Trump endorsed Charles W. Herbster in Nebraska. Herbster had previously given Trump $1.6m. Herbster is a buffoon and completely unimpressive. His entire campaign is the Trump endorsement and that of the SD Governor. Herbster is spending millions of his own money on the campaign and Kelly Ann Conway is collecting a commission.

The birds have flown, the entrails have been examined, the portents are clear. Biden's fate is unsealed. Sometime in the next 18 months, Joe Biden must:
(1) Be removed from office under the provisions of the 25th Amendment.
(2) Resign Nixon-style, and be flown back to Delaware by the Marines with a proactive blanket pardon in his pocket.
(3) Just plain die, probably by dehydration due to excessive drooling.
Which demise the gods will choose is immaterial, and though most Americans will applaud, they will also conclude that this nation has had quite enough of gerontocracy. In 2024 any candidate over 60 will be rejected unless the younger candidate is a Democrat. Candidates over 70 will be eliminated in the primaries -- including Donald Trump.
Thompson mailed in his last campaign, which is why we have Tammy "Wonder Woman" Baldwin as our junior senator. Go away Tommy.

As an former Iowan and voter for Chuck Grassley, I subscribe to his Instagram feed. In addition to the other work he does in the Senate, he makes a point to hold a meeting in every Iowa county every year. At 99 counties, that means he has to hold an event in Iowa roughly every 3 days a year. He seems pretty spry for his age, and pretty trim for his love of DQ Blizzards.
I note that Thompson's younger brother died. Why on Earth would he actually think of this? Terrible, terrible idea. I hope Sue Ann can throw some sense his way.

This makes little sense. Wisconsin is not a Trumpy state. Trump got his ass-kicked in the 2016 primary. You may have forgotten, but it was pretty bad. In the general, Trump got more than 70,000 fewer votes than Ron Johnson. There are a huge cache of traditional conservatives that will not vote for Trump or his acolytes. Scott Walker was UNBEATABLE up until Trump and Foxconn. Then he got his butt kicked by a milquetoast ninny.
Glenn Youngkin just showed everyone a winning strategy. How clueless is Thompson?

There are a million people in Wisconsin that would make a better governor than Walker. Any business owner would do better.

Walker is the head of the Young America's Foundation out in CA.
Both of them are highly establishment conservatives. I doubt either would have much support in WI now.
