A perfect storm in the Democratic Party is making a once-unfathomable scenario plausible: a political comeback for Hillary Clinton in 2024.
Several circumstances—President Biden’s low approval rating, doubts over his capacity to run for re-election at 82, Vice President Kamala Harris’s unpopularity, and the absence of another strong Democrat to lead the ticket in 2024—have created a leadership vacuum in the party, which Mrs. Clinton viably could fill....
So the point is, the Democrats somehow have no one. "Viable" means capable of living. The party is so bereft of life that it might dig up Hillary and run her again. That said, I remember "The New Nixon," the 1968 Nixon. She's in the same position: Lost an election, sat out the next election, and then came back and won/could win. And Nixon always seemed unappealing.
The authors of the WSJ piece never mention Nixon. Because he is so unappealing. But he's the accurate comparison if you want to argue it can be done, which they do.
In a recent MSNBC interview, Mrs. Clinton... took a veiled jab at the Biden administration and congressional Democrats in an effort to create distance: “It means nothing if we don’t have a Congress that will get things done, and we don’t have a White House that we can count on to be sane and sober and stable and productive.”
Did she mean to say that Biden is not sane, not sober, no stable, and not productive?
Hillary Clinton remains ambitious, outspoken and convinced that if not for Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey’s intervention and Russian interference that she would have won the 2016 election—and she may be right.
It's good to be reminded of her similarity to Trump: She never accepted the results of the election.
If Democrats want a fighting chance at winning the presidency in 2024, Mrs. Clinton is likely their best option.
"Best" = they've got nothing better.

I would love for Trump to beat her ass again. She is more disliked than the cackling VP we have now. We don't need a cackling President who is corrupt and belongs in prison but has the FBI and other intel agencies on her side.....(either that, or the Clintons have something on all of them) You want a civil war?? THIS is how you get a civil war!!
Oh....and Happy Birthday Ann!!!
Joe Biden was here in Georgia yesterday and the state’s democrat with the biggest name recognition, Stacy Abrams, did not even show to greet the putative president. I say the brand is in really bad shape right now.
Clickbait is the accurate description.
I just don't see the Democratic voting base wanting to hitch their wagon to her, especially after the 2016 result. And we're still roughly 1-2 years away from the primaries, an eon in Presidential election terms. Someone else will emerge, I believe.
She embodies half of the Dragon Lady stereotype: strong, deceitful, domineering. The other half - mysterious, and often sexually alluring - not so much.
The proper term for Hillary's return is "exhume."
Secretary Pete will run for POTUS. He’s young, glib, gay and a total failure as Secretary of Transportation.
Power Line comment about HRC’s campaign slogan, “A Hill to Die On.”

Does the author of this piece really believe this is what Hillary believes? Does he mean the Russian interference she bought and paid for?
The fake Russian interference narrative that the media refuses to let die.
happy bDay Professor!
IF the dems Don't exhume Hilary!, WHO do they pick to lose in 2024? tough call
Obama really is the gift that keeps on giving. I fault his admin for basically gutting the Dem bench. Between the losses at all levels (over a thousand seats), the failure to develop new talent, and the idiotic belief that they no longer needed working class whites, he left the Dems in horrible shape.
The 2022-2023 time frame seems more applicable. It makes for a good bargain with female Democrats: keep us in power in November, we’ll get rid of the big guy and your dreams will come true.
Ann won’t even have to vote for her again…
"I just don't see the Democratic voting base wanting to hitch their wagon to her, especially after the 2016 result"
As if they have anything to say about it. Democratic primary season is a thing of the past.
They both lost their most recent elections. Have we ever had a race of Loser versus Loser before? It's like the consolation bracket.
Ms. Clinton is, if anything, less popular today than she was in 2016. She is older, frailer, the female version of Biden.
Does the WSJ really believe the answer to a doddering old fool is a doddering old drunken fool? No, I don't think they do. Clickbait, as you say. And it's a real shame that even at the highest levels of media, they stoop to these boiler-room antics.
"calling Dr. West! Calling Dr. Herbert West to line four..."
Trump kept Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton out of the Oval Office. For that, I shall be forever grateful.
A change candidate?!
What about Beto? After losing to Abbott in 22, he will be rolling up his sleeves. Feel the enthusiasm..
You can make the Hillary-Nixon analogy but Hillary is not in Nixon's position in 1968.
Remember that LBJ's (effectively second) term fell apart as badly as Brandon's first term is right now. Nixon got put on the sidelines at exactly the right time to avoid getting the stink of Vietnam, race riots, and other civil unrest all over himself and the GOP brand. He could run as the revival of the Eisenhower era.
Hillary is in the Hubert Humphrey position of trying to claim she's going to do a better job of implementing policies that nobody really wants to see implemented.
I think you need to look at Governors for Democrats who will consider running in primaries. My scenario is that at some point in late 2022 or 2023 Biden announces he won’t run again but does not resign. That prevents Harris from becoming a sitting President. They know she is unpopular but if she was a sitting President, it would be tough to primary her. She would lose in a landslide. I think Hillary tries to drive other candidates out of the spotlight early but fails. You have a primary field of Democrat governors like Newsome, the CO guy and a few others. Maybe Mayor Pete and some cabinet people. I see no one viable in that group but that is all they have available. My dark horse in General Miley. He has positioned himself as a loyal D and can be packaged as a social justice warrior yet a pragmatic statesman/soldier. He would be the real deep state candidate
"The proper term for Hillary's return is "exhume.""
Somehow I picture a Hammer Films horror movie with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.
Maybe now that they can simply install anyone they want in the Whitehouse Hillary can finally be President.

I think America will finally see her gravitas as a necessary asset to make the United States Great Again. Get it? Us great again, as in all of us. She's a uniter, not a divider. What we need is a return to normalcy. With Bill Clinton at her side, there is nothing we can't accomplish individually and collectively. At the end of the day, she is the horse that will carry us on the information superhighway across the Rubicon into the future.
If a Hail Mary is needed, the Democrats could nominate Liz Cheney.
Love what they call a "veiled" jab at the White House.
What sort of hellworld are we in where the "best" candidate is a cross between Dick Nixon and Donald Trump?

AOC will be 35 on Election Day 2024.
It’s time for the Dems to put up or shut up.
"if not for . . . Russian interference"
Sane and sober by Dem standards.
Or Liz Cheney could run for President as a third party candidate. If the Republicans kick her out of their party, doesn’t her family honor demand that she do so?
I see no analysis being done into any of the following truly critical areas:
- Why her time as Senator and SoS and first lady actually hurt her.
- How her failures, particularly Benghazi, slowed her down.
- How she lost to Trump.
- How her foundation's donations basically imploded post election loss.
I also see no analysis being done into:
- Why Democrats, with 22 governors and the Senate among other feeder paths to executive power, have no bench strength.
- Why Democrats wound up failing all of their up and coming candidates in the 2020 election in favor of a 5 decade near 80 year old gaffe machine with a history of lying and never actually changing anything.
....
To the latter issue with Democrats, I would argue that in their constant desire to appease the base and the way in which the base operates, any "leader" who emerges is automatically destroyed because you must - above all - take ungovernable opinions to be accepted as a democrat. It's a great way to keep a foaming mob, a terrible way to develop party leaders. Hence why we have Stacy Abrams and Hillary Clinton, electoral losers who have never accepted their loss as legitimate, being represented as party leaders.
At least Hillary isn't motivated by feelings.
The Democrats actually have people they can run who might win a general election. But they could never win a Democratic primary. While I disagree with Tulsi Gabbard on most issues, she is at least sane and mainstream. Same for Joe Manchin, I disagree with him on half the issues, but he is sane and mainstream. I am sure that others are out there, but you will never hear of them because they are deliberately ignored by a ultra-leftist media who do not want them to get airtime.
And running Killary would be the worst mistake they could make other than trying to rerun Biden.
The problem for democrats is they are down to about 50 million actually living breathing people that would show up to vote for them in person.
Any jurisdiction that has any kind of election security is a no go for them.
Please, more comparisons of Hillary to Nixon. She deserves it.
Secretary Pete will run for POTUS. He’s young, glib, gay and a total failure as Secretary of Transportation.
Over qualilfied, by today's standards.
Now John Kerry, "climate czar", ought to have great chances. War hero. Lion of the Senate. Triumphal Titan over the world's diplomatic stage. Now, the one man who could bring international business cartels and recalcitrant CO2-emitting nations together and hammer out a meaningful, effective COP26 deal. Kerry Kerry KERRY - 2024.
Uh, do I have to put the [s] /[s] tag before AND after or only after in order for my remarks to be understood properly?
Happy Birthday, Prof A!
It sounded like a punch line. But apparently it’s true at this point that the bench is thin. But look how big the clown car was before Deblasio and Kamala fell out last time. We have no freaking idea what lefties will crawl into the arena in the next two years. I don’t believe Hillary will join the scrum. Does anyone believe she would keep her shit together while young snotty candidates mock her for losing to Trump? She has Joe’s ultra-thin skin and Kamala’s charm put together!

I can. But it's going to mean that the party has cratered.
This is why America can't have nice things. The same corrupt shits in both parties keep coming back, over and over again. And too many voters are too stupid, cowed, deluded, fooled, or resigned to such shitty people as the norm that they don't tell these corrupt shits in both parties who keep coming back to fuck off.
Her 2016 nomination was due to the enormous amount of power she wielded behind the scenes in the DNC, which went hand in hand with her remarkable knack for fundraising.
It's hard to imagine that she still has much power or fundraising ability. But I have no idea how those things work.
The thought of a comeback is quite entertaining. If she pulls it off, then the fact that she somehow still wields power will be, for me, one of the most amusing aspects.
The 2016 vote count was paid to be rigged for Hillary but the votes were counted truthfully by an intervention from the Admiral Rogers guys. That is why she is so mad at Trump claiming her job. She just wants what she paid for. Fair is fair in election steals.
Of course, it is also good to be reminded that her "belief" that she lost because of "Russian interference" has been not only entirely disproven, but also to have been created out of whole cloth by her and her campaign. Also, without an illegal server in her bathroom, there is nothing for Comey to "interfere" with.
The progressives would have a stroke. NTTAWWT.
"Here's what I'm thinkin'. Two words: re-match."
Now I know how Pittsburgh fans felt watching that game between the Raiders and the Bolts Sunday night. You could see the nightmare scenario coming like a slow motion train wreck.
The fact that Biden gave Secretary Pete control of a third of a trillion dollars in discretionary spending to allow him to shore up his donor network says that the insiders want him, and that Harris is on the outs.
Hillary once tweeted: "I've been called many things by many people--'quitter' is not one of them." link. I happened to catch the audio version of that quote and it sounded uncannily like Nixon: link
I wonder how the power dynamics play out in the Democrat party. I assume Biden is just a puppet for Obama. I know that Obama meets regularly with his “alumni” many of whom have positions of power in the Biden administration, so I assume Obama is calling the shots. Certainly seems that way with the F-ups coming fast and furious just like his Admin. The only difference is that this Admin doesn’t have a charming youngish Black man to represent it publicly. Everyone was so hypnotized by Obama they ignored his many disasters. Not so, with Biden. All the ugliness is out in the open.
Now, Hillary, I doubt very much would be willing to be any one’s puppet. So who has the power in their party? Obama or Clinton. I think Obama, so not likely to see Hillary run.
Doug Schoen is a Clinton Democrat and a Clinton operative. Of course he wants her back.
Somebody is going to die or become incapacitated in the next two years. Biden or Trump or Clinton or Pelosi. If it's Bill Clinton, does that make HRC more or less likely to run?
Democrats, the party of the youts.
I don't know why they have a problem at all. They've already written off Republican voters. Just pick anyone who isn't insane. No woke idiocy, no seething hatred, no Russiagate conspiracy lunatics, no Trump Derangement, no 1/6 obsession. Just someone liberal and sane, and they'd probably win.

Good Democrat Schoen wrote the same kinds of columns in 2010 and 2011 calling on Obama not to run for re-election and then for Clinton to be drafted to run in 2012. But since those columns are no longer available on the world wide web ....
Also, wasn't there something in 2016 about Hillary's health?
Never happen. One of the lessons of 2020 is that the Obamaites now own the Democrat Party. I’m guessing HRC is now a punch line in Donk inner circles.
too many voters are too stupid, cowed, deluded, fooled, or resigned to such shitty people as the norm that they don't tell these corrupt shits in both parties who keep coming back to fuck off.
It is hard to disagree with that point.
I suspect that the 2024 Dem primary will be the Radical Marxists versus the Deep State Phony Moderates. If Hillary runs will she go left or pretend to be a moderate? The energy of the party is with the Marxists.

The Dem ticket should be Joy(less) Reid and Rachel Maddow. Two for the price of one. Two of the most ardent Trump Derangement Syndrome and Russia Hoax advocates. It would be glorious!
I like Howard Schultz and Tulsi Gabbard ticket for the Non-Corrupt, non-insider, non Clinton-Pelosi-Biden insider corruption tag team choice on the left.
I think it would be refreshing to have all new candidates to choose from. On both sides.
Joe Biden is frequently called the 'change' candidate by his attending staff, or so I'm told.

The media(D-corrupt) want a Hillary-Trump re-match because it's good for the media. $$$$$$$
Horrible for our nation. Beyond horrible.
Its beyond silly. Nixon ran against LBJ II (Humphrey). Crooked Hillary would be running as Biden II. Another age addled grifter. She was too old and feeble in 2016. Eight years later, after 4 years of Biden? Though there isn’t that much evidence that she has been any more corrupt than Biden. Both are up there at the top of the stack in skimming money for them and their families. At least Nancy Pelosi does it honestly, through a Congressional exemption to insider trading laws.

When was that?? In between the fraudulent Russian Conspiracy crap he was fighting, or the 2 fake impeachments he was fighting, and the rinos NOT repealing Obamacare, or Paul Ryan screwing us with the Omnibus bill in return for the wall, that Ryan then went “lame duck” and that impotence led to his reneging on the wall?? He couldn't do it himself, and most of those rinos you are sticking up for now screwed him, and us....but keep pretending it will be different next time. Considering all the stuff he DID get done, which was way more than anybody expected should be a welcome change, but I guess that stuff was too much and too good for some of you.
Bruce Hayden - Right on- except the media learned their mistakes in 2016. This time the media and hollywood will be so in the tank for Hillary, it will make our jaws drop.
Wendy - you do realize the Fraudulent Russian Conspiracy crap he was fighting all started with.... wait for it.... Hillary Clinton. She is the nexus of that lie.
The impeachments should never have happened - Trump stepped on his own dick and opened those doors. I feel bad for the man, but he needed much better people around him.
It's funny how super hero Trump "Couldn't do it all himself" but somehow we are to have faith that a 75 year old man, will, - in 2024, be able to do it all himself!

From Powerline today:
“I think Schoen and Stein have blundered badly here. As Steve Bannon/Karl Rove plants, they have floated this idea way too early. They should have waited until the mid-term election blowout. Desperate Democrats will be more receptive then.”
“Maybe these double-agents have been re-turned, and are now triple-agents, working openly on behalf of Republicans again. There can be no other explanation for this obvious error. Kudos to the Wall Street Journal for tricking them into this unforced error. If error it is. After all, who really want to take any chance that this grasping harridan could get within a million fraudulent ballots of the Oval Office.”

Revenge of the bushes.
Schoen is and always was a Clinton hack. The article’s not persuasive or compelling or passionate in any way. Really more matter of fact. Like he’s hoping he’s right, or he’s just testing the waters to see how much push back they get. Ugh.
I have an idea, let’s run another Bush and another Kennedy.
On election day 1968, Richard Nixon (b. 1/9/13) was 55. On election day 2024, Hillary Clinton (b. 11/26/47) will be 77.
Hillary 2024
Here Joe, hold my beer...
She isn't going to run again.
Isn't one reason they don't have anyone better because they had kept the field cleared of real challengers so Hillary could have "her turn"?
And John Kerry (b. 12/11/43) will be 80.
Joe Biden (b. 11/20/42) would be only 81.
Great! We can have two incapacitated or dying-in-office presidents in a row. Whichever one is elected.
But are Dems REALLY going to reject nominating President Harris? The first Black Woman president? They really want to go that racist route?
The plan on the left is to install the cheat machine that gave us Biden.
This is why Hillary is stepping up. She needs that cheat machine, and she understands perfectly that she will benefit from that cheat machine.
The GOP's best bet, in my estimation is to stop the left's corrupt power grab, at all costs, and to find someone other than Trump to run.

If Rs don't want her running, then they had better investigate the Russian bullshit with a special commission when they take back the house...
They could kill it all there if they wanted to (unless they think she will lose).
If an R president is elected, a special prosecutor can then be appointed to throw her, Hunter, and Joe in the slammer.

Who is going to "emerge"? From where?
Andrew Cuomo was a potential threat, so the Democrats got rid of him.
Newsom? The campaign ads showing him in The French Laundry would nuke him in the Primary, and the GE if he got that far.
You can't be a brand new governor for a year, and then successfully run for President. So, which Democrat Governors right now are creating a positive name for themselves?
Lacking any of those, which members of the Biden* Admin are making a positive name for themselves?
Merrick "Parents who care about their kids education are domestic terorists" Garland?
Pete "I went on un-announced paternity leave during a major crisis in my department" Buttplug?
Which Democrat Senators are creating a name for themselves? Of those, which can possibly win the Democrat nomination?
So, who do they have left?
Hillary, Oprah, Michelle?
Obama slaughtered the Democrat Bench in 2010. In 2012 he won by weaponizing the IRS, and Romney's incompetence (see ORCA)
In 2022 Biden* will slaughter the Democrat's bench, possibly even worse than Obama did in 2010. In 2024, the Democrats are going to br running a loser as their candidate.
In 2026, if the Democrats are really lucky, they'll get some people who aren't either utterly repulsive, or total non-entities, to win governor's races.
Which means that in 2032 the Democrats could have a reasonable Presidential candidate. If identity politics doesn't completely get in the way

Kamala Harris for VP? Joe ShitsHisPantsInPublic?
What? Where does this thinking come from? What evidence do you have that supports any of this?
If Democrats decide it will be Hillary it will be Hillary. And the stupid people that vote for democrats will be just like the stupid people that supported Mitt Romney in 2012.
It is a Potemkin Village from top to bottom.

If a Hail Mary is needed, the Democrats could nominate Liz Cheney.
LBC wins the thread!
I'd register as a Democrat just to vote for her in the primary.
They should skip the affirmative action aspect and just foist Dick Cheney on them.
And you know they would take it right in the ass for Dick.
The only person that supported more wars than Dick is shitting his pants in the Oval Office right now.
Well the other person that supported more wars than Dick is hitting the wine bottles pretty hard now but is currently the front runner for the democrat nomination...
Hillary actually believes that she could win a presidential election. The woman will not just shut up and go away. Hillary, listen to me, the majority of the American people do not want you, do not want Joe Biden, do not want Kamala Harris either. Democrats get some NEW people to run for president. This is a kick in the teeth to Resident Joe Biden who claims that he is running for re-election in 2024. She’s swooping in and trying to push an unsteady, old man aside. Not nice. Wait to Dr. Jill hears about this!
Instead of Hillary going for a trifecta of losing, why not nominate the irresistibly good-looking, charismatic governor of CA? He represents a new generation of democrats grifters.
The Dems actually have some governors capable of simulating sanity - Polis in Colorado, possibly Hochul from NY, Beshear in Kentucky, Kelly in Kansas, Cooper in North Carolina.
A country of 330 million people and these are the two best options we could come up with? Again?
That's not fair to Harcourt Fenton Mudd!
Sorry, my statement was ambiguous. I think of the shrew screaming "Harcourt Fenton Mudd".
And Happy Birthday to the hostess!
Outside of the Clinton family and its hangers-on the only people who had any enthusiasm for Hillary Clinton were women who wanted the "glass ceiling" to be "shattered." They had a lot of enthusiasm for the campaign, but it wasn't enthusiasm for Hillary personally. They've moved on since then. Kamala Harris, or Liz Warren, or what the heck, even Michelle Obama or Pete Buttigieg would serve as well.
Those other politicians also seem a little more contemporary than Hillary Clinton. The "sell-by date" concept became popular in political discussions a few years back. If you don't get elected president a certain number of years or cycles after appearing on the national scene, you will probably never get elected. The concept isn't very well defined, but as politicians go, Hillary isn't the freshest.
300 days till the November 8 election.
The Dems are gonna run Harris. She's ahead in all the party's members poled.
A garbage dump truck could beat Harris,so she won't be the Democrat candidate.
Left Bank of the Charles: "If a Hail Mary is needed, the Democrats could nominate Liz Cheney."
When you're right, you're right.
On January 12, 2006, Barack Obama was an undistinguished Senator from Illinois. Thirty-four months later, he was elected president. The next thirty-four months is a long time.

Senator Fauxcahontas stated that she wanted single payer. Which is to say, Fauxcahontas said she wanted to take away the nice health care packages of all those upper middle class suburban families.
Or to put it more bluntly: Fauxcahontas told all those suburban moms that she was going to take away their children's health care.
I would love for Warren to be the Dem nominee. Because that would get 80%+ of "white college educated females with children" voting straight ticket GOP.
But it isn't going to happen. Because she will get asked about single payer if she's in the Dem primary, and going back on support for single payer after previously supporting it nukes her base

Newsome: I hope that was sarcasm. AS Gov of CA, Newsome's had to be hard Left. Not going to sell in the rest of the country
Hochul: Being just as much of a thug as Cuomo. 2 years as Gov, and being a lockdown queen, isn't going to be a winning ticket in 2024
Beshear: Could have a chance in teh General. Don't think he'd have the slightest chance in the Primary. After 2 years of getting very little under Biden* and a D House and D Senate, followed by two years of gridlock, Progressives are NOT going to be willing to accept a "moderate"
Kelly: has to win re-election this year. Doesn't seem likely
Cooper, Polis: What have those two actually accomplished? Polis decided recently to be a bit more sane on Covid, which is good.
Anything else?

This is why America can't have nice things. The same corrupt shits in both parties keep coming back, over and over again. And too many voters are too stupid, cowed, deluded, fooled, or resigned to such shitty people as the norm that they don't tell these corrupt shits in both parties who keep coming back to fuck off.
I really can't find anything wrong with that statement.
Let's look at some serious political data points.
(1) The latest Quinnipiac poll -- which normally skews left -- has Joe Biden's favorability rating at 33%. This is "Nixon just before he resigned" territory. And, this is Quinnipiac, which normally skews left. Moreover, he is underwater with every group surveyed, except for Democrats. I do not see him on the ballot in 2024.
(2) This poll didn't ask about the performance of Harris, but I note that in most polls she is rated below Joe Biden.
(3) The Democrats in Congress are rated even below Joe Biden (30% approve, 59% disapprove).
(4) Ron DeSantis might be a fine choice for a candidate in 2024, but only if his wife is in remission by this time in 2024 (and preferably in late 2023). Hitting the campaign trail while your wife is seriously ill is neither good optics nor a winning strategy.
(5) Donald Trump needs to learn how to schmooze people, and get Republican politicians to owe him personally. He needs a large block of Republican senators and Republicans in the House of Representatives who owe him. Right now his endorsements carry weight, but sitting back at Mar-a-Largo tossing endorsements around is not enough to build up IOUs. Standing alongside them and campaigning with them does. Right now I just don't see him doing enough of that and it will handicap him -- again! -- if he is reelected in 2024.
(6) This post, and the article on which it is based, is pure clickbait. Running Hillary again will bring out the same "I would climb out of my deathbed with a 103 fever and crawl five miles over broken glass to vote against Hillary" voters again.
(7) Oh, yes. Mitch McConnell. He was born in 1942, and will be 80 at this election, and 82 in 2024. He could be retired by 2024, he cold be deceased (I hope not).
So, will Trump be the 2024 nominee? The Iowa caucuses are almost 37 months away. Lots can happen to change the cold, hard, equations in that time. But let's stop assuming it will be Trump vs DeSantis to challenge Joe Biden. There's too much that has to go right to make that happen.
let's Face facts; 2024 is going to Stacy Abrams vs. Trump
Abrams will win, with 280,000,000 votes to 90,000,000
Some people will point out, that that is MORE people than there Are... In the whole country
THOSE People, will commit suicide
Re the Hildabeast, I keep thinking of Christopher Hitchens' prediction that Hillary Clinton will one day be president. I thought Trump had settled her hash once and for all, but she's like some movie villain who keeps popping back up. And apparently will keep coming back until someone cuts her head off and then drives a stake through her heart.
Do you remember the days when we were all wondering if Teddy Kennedy was going to run for President? If he took 20 lbs off, the non-Kennedy wing of the Dems began to worry.
How do you know if Hillary is going to run? She has largely kept out of the public spotlight since 2016. Will she re-appear after 2022?
In 2016, when we knew Hillary would be the Democrats' nominee, I was certain that the GOP shouldn't nominate Jeb Bush.
If the Dems nominate Hillary in 2024, that would argue in favor of the GOP nominating Trump. I would personally prefer that the GOP (my party) move in a different direction. DeSantis. Abbott. There may be others,

Trump LOVES to campaign. To get out in front of crowds that love him. Assuming the GOP candidates are going to have campaign rallies in 2022, Trump will be out there campaigning with them.
So I think you're wrong on thinking he won't do enough of that
