Said Aaron Rodgers, quoted in "Aaron Rodgers lashes out against NFL, ‘woke mob’ in defense of vaccination status" (WaPo). Or watch him making the statements on the Pat McAfee Show here.
He also says that he's getting advice from his "now good friend" Joe Rogan and that the NFL’s coronavirus protocols are "not based on science but on a more shame-based environment."

"Health is not a one-size-fits-all for everybody. And for me, it involved a lot of study in the offseason. … I put a lot of time and energy researching this and met with a lot of people to get the most information about the vaccines before I made my decision."
His position makes a great deal of sense. Strange that the Democrats would take a shame-based approach, given that so few of them seem to have any sense of shame at all.
Did he come up with this on his own, or is his girlfriend kaepernicking him?
Shouldn’t have fibbed about his status (if he did). That said he’s believing the science. I like that…
Quite obviously, Rogers needs to be expelled from the NFL, tried in a court of law, and executed in a timely manner.
The Packers will have to rely on love.
Literally. Jordan Love, the rookie from Utah State, is their back-up quarterback.
Oh spare me the pseudo science. I am disgusted that we are paying so much attention to this, that I am, but what a total fool and an idiot. He also thinks he is special and the rules don't apply to him. He's finally revealing himself to be a conspiracy theorist. What's next on the Rodgers agenda? Sorry he's feeling shame, it's his fault only. If he felt no shame, he should not have lied in the first place. But he did. Shame's on him.
Take home grown Kaepernick. Woke yes but better than asleep at the wheel.
"Did he come up with this on his own, or is his girlfriend kaepernicking him?"
Obviously he's just a puppet with someone else's running down the runway of his tongue.
I might add that members of Congress and their staffs are are specifically exempt from vaccine mandates. What do they know that is being withheld from rest of us?
Aaron Rogers is my hero.
'Aaron Roger' tag?

The wokies (not representative of all Democrats) have no shame when it comes to themselves; plenty of it for people whom they have 'othered.'
Another vaccine pussy. I'm happy for you people because you need heros to confirm your Dunning Krugerrands.
Rogers probably did get infected by a vaccinated person.
Link to Lancet study.
"Interpretation
Vaccination reduces the risk of delta variant infection and accelerates viral clearance. Nonetheless, fully vaccinated individuals with breakthrough infections have peak viral load similar to unvaccinated cases and can efficiently transmit infection in household settings, including to fully vaccinated contacts. Host–virus interactions early in infection may shape the entire viral trajectory."

In mental health we allow people making their own decisions as much as possible, unless they are endangering themselves and others - and we have a high bar for that. "But it would be good for her to go to rehab" doesn't cut it with us. On the other hand, I have done evaluations for guardianships and testified that people have them appointed at times. While Rodgers is clearly dangerous to others, because teams are of necessity in close physical proximity and breathing hard, it doesn't meet the standard of imminent risk of death or serious harm.
Nonetheless, from a purely political standpoint, the people insisting on their rights would convince many more people if the reasons that they do give weren't so dumb-ass.
I read his "immunization" method was homeopathic.
I assumed he was smarter than that.
I say, good for him. I just got my Moderna booster, and I assume (hope) Mr. Rodgers would say the same to me.
I'm 70 and so I am in the 'vulnerable' cohort. Perhaps my decision about the vaccine would be different if I were young and in superb condition like Aaron Rodgers and his peers. I felt like crap for two or three days after my vaccination. Can a top-level professional athlete afford that?
You should all watch his 45 minute discussion before you comment. He detailed fairly extensively how he came to the decision not to get vaccinated, included the fact that he is allergic to an ingredient in the mRNA vaccines and his concerns over the blood clotting issues with the J&J shot. He also described the months long immunization/immunity boosting protocol he followed for months in place of a vaccine. It was not a flippant decision.

Almost every culture in history has had a caste system with different rules for different groups. Usually for the ruling class and everyone else.
The United States at it's founding brought the concept of equal treatment under the law into existence.
The people trying to tear this country down are not interested in equal treatment under the law.
Good for Aaron!
"NFL’s coronavirus protocols are "not based on science but on a more shame-based environment.""
Correct. WuFlu risk to healthy professional athletes is nil. I mean, have any of them anywhere experienced anything bad?
He also says that he's getting advice from his "now good friend" Joe Rogan and that the NFL’s coronavirus protocols are "not based on science but on a more shame-based environment."
Embrace the power of "and".
The vaccine mandate has closed many firehouses in NYC. Maybe a little more important than the "National Felons League."

With that attitude to covid he ahold have retired at top after last season.
Hey, Howard, have you actually been following anything at all about the vaccine? I have. Since there weren't any long term studies actually done on- some longer term effects are starting to show up. Take this one for example: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41421-021-00329-3.pdf The vaccine apparently raises A1C level, in some temporarily- but usually permanently- or as long as the effect was studied. Could push someone with a pre-diabetic A1C level over into the diabetic range. Someone, for example, like me, who's taking metformin to keep that from happening. Let's see- chancing diabetes, or chancing a disease with an approximately 0.0% chance of killing me since my Vitamin D blood level is 60 ng/ml... Which is the better choice? What? 0.0% chance? Yep. https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.09.22.21263977v1
Well, at least the vax doesn't harm healthy people. Or does it? Apparently more athletes have been dropping dead this year while engaged in sport than normal. https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1456765816863694851.html
And the spike protein that the virus forces the body to make- harmless! Otherwise- how could the vaccine be approved? https://drmalcolmkendrick.org/2021/06/03/covid19-the-spike-protein-and-blood-clotting/ The likely cause of those athletes dropping dead.
And 3 Green Berets have dropped dead during physical training events this year. https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-army/2021/10/29/green-beret-nco-dies-during-physical-fitness-training-at-fort-bragg/ Surely nothing to do with their vaccination status- I mean Green Berets dropping dead doing physical things, that's just normal, right?
The vax doesn't keep people from getting covid, at least not for very long. It doesn't keep people from dying from it, but supposedly (at least for tight now) keeps more from dying from it. And we have weird things happening in other highly vaxxed countries. https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2021/11/04/something-very-weird-happening-in-western-australia-hospitals-overwhelmed-vaccinations-continue-but-they-have-no-covid/ ERs and ICUs in Western Australia filling up- but not with covid patients! They're highly vaxxed there. Hmm, do you think there could be a relationship? So far, no info on the type(s) of problems they're seeing. Western Australia isn't the only place this is happening.
There are lot of very good reasons no to take the vaccine. At the very beginning one of them was- there had never before been a successful vaccine developed against ANY coronavirus for humans or animals in the past, and several have caused more problems. With a documented record of lack of success- trusting that this one was the long awaited silver bullet was a fool's choice. 90% effective! Until you get to 6 months, then it's useless. So get a booster! Which wears off. Get another! And now they're up to 4 shots for the high risk population.
I wonder how long the team would keep him if he refused to wear a helmet while on the field. I wonder if the team would/could stop paying him for any weeks he is out sick with Covid.
The NFL could create a rule that any unvaccinated players could remain on the team and be paid but could not play or participate in any team activities. That would kill a player's stats for the year, his physical conditioning and value to the football enterprise.
The reality is that major sport athletes are really just so much cattle on the team's balance sheet and should be treated as such. The term "cull" comes to mind.
"Aaron Rogers is a lying, selfish tool."

'Take home grown Kaepernick. Woke yes but better than asleep at the wheel.'
Fucking hilarious...
Kaepernick says the NFL is slavery. It would clearly be racist to hire him...
The story here is that before he was diagnosed with Covid he lied at a press conference about being "immunized" when asked if he had received the vaccine.
He lied to the reporter, he lied to his employer, he lied to his fans, and he lied to his teammates.
Too much attention, too much commercial work, and too much money has swollen his head.
Now he has a large head the size of ...
Gospace, thank you for your effort. It spares me the guilt from not doing the same, mostly because "facts and evidence" don't seem to matter much. The government and a good deal of the political left have gone with an ad slogan: "safe and effective". Citing the issues is a hard sell against the smiling, benevolent visage of the medical / industrial / government complex. "We're here to help!"
And citing the issues feels so much like spitballing a Sherman tank. The absolute confidence of so many people, people who otherwise strongly question government (Noam Chomsky comes to mind), that on this, perhaps this alone, our Foes are our Friends, astonishes me. The marketing people advise, Don't sell the steak. Sell the sizzle. The Establishment here sells the Cure, the End of the Pandemic. Safety! Freedom! The sizzle resists reason.
Good for Aaron Rogers. Not really a time to be an Early Adopter.
Happy to see all of our sports fans supporting "Aaron Rogers" - whoever he is.
This unknown sportsball guy must suffer from some form of diabetes, since the only common ingredient in all forms of Covid-19 vaccines is sucrose. Diabetes can lead to reduced sperm quality but diabetes as such does not appear to affect motility of sperm (the ability of the sperm to move towards the egg) or cause infertility as a result.
