Deer at sunrise.

As seen from the path:

I'm surprised that I saw the one deer, not that the second deer was invisible to me until I saw the second photograph. I still can't see the second deer in the first photograph.

In the first, the second becomes part of the first.

The second deer is a graduate of US Army sniper school.
Be careful!

As a kid I always had trouble spotting deer. In the car one day the deer hunters in my family lectured me to stop looking at the trees and look between them.

Boy, did that help…

In the first photograph, digital enhancement clearly shows the second dear pointing his rifle at an innocent rioter. Very clearly.

That deer had covid. 80% do, y’know.

I saw one deer on Monday on my run and then three on Wednesday. The area I run is usually closed right now for bow hunting but they decided this year to keep the trails open and allow the hunters off trail areas. The three deer were not afraid of me. They watched me run by through the trees. I've decided that the bow hunters should start jogging through the woods instead of trying to be sneaky. The deer have learned the rhythmic sounds of running bring no harm.

I'll be doing my part one week from today....dealing with these unmasked covid spreaders.

I have a hunch GOAT Brady had an adverse reaction to the vaccine and they are keeping it under wraps.

I see mikee already did the pinch and zoom.

In the first photo, the second deer is facing away with its rear end aligned with the head of the first deer. Then you shoot the picture. The second deer hears the click and turns to the sound and you shoot the second picture. ADA Binder will now enhance the photos to show evidence that the second deer is actually a raised rifle barrel.

As of yesterday, a similar deer is residing in my freezer.

There's three deer roaming around our neighborhood near Snoqualmie. In the spring, there were four of them, but I've only seen three lately. They were snacking down on the nearly cleared area. They didn't seem to be afraid of me.

It's right above the head of the other and looking at you head on.

A small local zoo, mostly pheasants and such, has a small herd of deer in an enclosure. The sign asks you to count them...

I saw a 6pointer- down and tagged. And Amish man had gotten him. Some people will feel the tightening of inflation more than others. I still feel a Lang of sorrow that a living creature is no longer, but he will nourish and live on in those who partake…

Lots of deer where I live. There's a buck and three does that regularly comes out at dusk from the treeline about 75 yards from my back deck. I've seen a larger herd in the same area at dawn. If I have to get up around dawn to micturate -- and as a septuagenarian it's seldom that I make it through the night -- I sometimes peek out of the back window to see if I can see them.

This week an elk that had a tire around its neck for two years had it removed ...

... I wondered how they knew how long the tire had been there ...

... and if the elk's insurance covered the procedure ...

... and if the removal of the tire was actually a desecration of one of Robert Rauschenberg's more daring works ...

Forget the deer. Do you see the man looking back at you? Spooky. Glad you got out of there alive.

I left for a week in my in October. Now the same goddam deer thinks he (she?) owns my acorns from one of my trees. His (her?) mom keeps her distance, but she comes around when I’m gone. And why this tree and not the others? Fucking deer.

farmgirl म्हणाले...

At least I can still micturate- that’s a new word for me.
“Big Mike” makes u sound 40- if I had to guess your age lol.

I've seen more bucks in my neighborhood this season than I did in 25 years of hunting. Smallest one, 6 point many 8 points and a 12 and they're all lookin for a hook up. Just what I need is more mouths for my hostas dammit!

Fritz म्हणाले...

I wish the deer would eat the acorns and not the flower bed.

A "pang of sorrow" works better for me.

BTW: The first thing that I learned after moving to Wisconsin was not to follow a deer crossing the road with my eyes; instead, safety requires looking back from whence that deer came for the next whitetail that will surely be trailing.

Deer are becoming more intrusive. They realize that the Great Reset means that in the future they will have most of today's suburbs to themselves.
