Trump rallies in Des Moines.

"As disastrous as the Biden administration has been, no one can blame the great state of Iowa, because boy we did really — we did really good here. Iowa, what a place!"

Biden can't even get a few hundred of his 81 million voters to watch his "press conferences" on Youtube, but 40,000 people will stand in line for hours to attend a rally with the former President. Very telling.

What Biden has done to this nation in just nine months should be considered a criminal offense.

It's interesting to see/hear Trump out in the middle of the calendar without any pressing political deadlines, offering up fairly standard Republican campaign stumpery. This is highly unusual for either party, no?

He's doing a sight more for GOP prospects than any of the party's elected leadership; that much is clear.

Psychotic.

"The election was rigged."

"And actually we won [in Wisconsin] by a lot."

"Ka-MA-la Harris."

"He [Biden] didn't get elected. Forget that." {Applause.}

"Hillary conceded! I never conceded. Never. No reason to concede."

"We have a very powerful card there [the debt ceiling refusal/filibuster]."

"The elections are totally corrupt in our country... they used COVID to cheat, and rig."

"Do you think that General George Patton would have left Afghanistan early? Do you think that he would have left behind dead soldiers?..."
{Trump references the 1970 film "Patton," of course.}

"[The US-Mexico border wall] was almost completed... was just about finished."

"We handed Biden the most secure border in US history... we built almost 500 miles of border wall..." {A gross exaggeration, even according to CBP.}

"The Biden Administration issued an order effectively abolishing ICE."

"In the Republican party we will always stand with law enforcement and the great heroes of law enforcement."

"...we didn't lose [the Arizona presidential election]."

"the approval ratings [of the US Supreme Court] are the lowest its been in memory... because they didn't have the courage to do something about the election."

{Trump won! Trump won! Trump won!, the crowd chanted.}

"Think of it; more votes than you had voters..." [In Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Detroit; and too many others to list, in other Trump speeches. A provably bald-faced lie that Trump has repeated in one form or another in most of his post-election rallies.]

"...they [Democrats and the media, presumably] don't want to talk about it [problems in the 2020 election], because they know they got caught..." {I've said on this blog's comments pages, I want every single Republican to declare herself or himself on the whether or not Donald Trump is correct and that the 2020 election was stolen.}

"Chuck Grassley was one of our best supporters on election fraud." {Here is Grassley on February 13 of this year, speaking of Trump and the election aftermath: "He belittled and harassed elected officials across the country to get his way. He encouraged his own loyal vice president, Mike Pence, to take extraordinary and unconstitutional actions during the Electoral College count. There's no doubt in my mind that President Trump's language was extreme, aggressive, and irresponsible."}

He's [Grassley] very persnipity [sic]." {Grassley says he'd "be not too smart" if he didn't accept the Trump endorsement since, Grassley said, 91% of Republicans in Iowa approve of Trump.}

"We took in billions and billions from China, when nobody had been able to take in ten cents."

"I took out 28 billion... and gave it to our farmers...our farmers are so rich..."

"Mitch McConnell should have challenged that election... Mitch McConnell didn't have the courage to challenge the election. He's only a leader because he raises a lot of money and he gives it to Senators."

"Biden is unleashing the FBI on parents who stand up and object at school board meetings. The parents are the enemy... patriotic moms and dads are the enemy..."

"We will quickly complete the border wall and we will eliminate illegal immigration... We didn't have a problem where millions of people came up [through Mexico"

"We will charge [China] trillions of dollars for the unbelievable suffering they have caused in our country and all around the world."

"There is no free speech... we don't have free speech anymore... this is the beginning of Communism."

"We will proudly uphold the Judeo-Christian values of our founding."

"We will ban Critical Race Theory in our classrooms...it will be banned, permanently banned, and it will never be allowed to come back again."

"Communism; communism is what is happening with our country today."

I am normally uncomfortable with accusations of "authoritarianism" and "fascism" when it comes to Trump. At least in part, I thought it gave him too much credit for being someone who was cognizant enough to think in such terms. But Trump tossing out "communism" allegations makes it easy. Trump is a fascist. A dumb one, but an unconcealed one.

Jessie Watters had a segment on his show last night about Pelosi's insider trading...Of course the media is silent, and don't care that they are fleecing America...She belongs in prison. Trump WILL get his payback...and it is going to be so worth it. https://www.bizpacreview.com/2021/10/10/watters-probes-pelosis-wealth-explosion-says-she-and-husband-seem-to-always-know-what-the-right-investment-is-1146812/

wendybar I am curious about your 1:36 comment.

I’m first of all curious about how it relates to the topic of this blog post.

I’m also curious about the substance. If a story about purported insider trading on the part of Pelosi is being covered on the Number One rated cable news channel, is it still a story that “the media isn’t covering”?

I just now Googled ‘Nancy Pelosi insider trading.’ Forbes had a story. Fortune had a story. NPR had a story. Glenn Greenwald has written about the subject. There were pages of links.

It’s just nonsense to maintain that “the media is silent.” Of course, some media outlets and their reporters may not cover the story the way that you enjoyed seeing Jesse (no “i”) Watters do it. That’s okay. You can have your preferences. You could easily say that you liked the Watters/Fox reporting. You could say that you thought that Watters’ was the best reporting. But you cannot credibly claim that Watters’ was the he only reporting or that “the media has been silent.”

News media is how you found the story.
