Talk about anything you want in the comments.

No sunrise photo today. It was raining, and it continues to rain. It's been a very low key day. Highlights: going to the dentist, napping.

For those wondering why LLR Chuck has been on the warpath lately with continued lying about concerned parents and actual conservatives (as opposed to a lefty like David French or Steve Hayes or Bill Kristol) pushing back on the DOJ's clear political intimidation program against typical parents, its because we now know that Merrick Garlands family is personally and directly profiting greatly from pushing CRT programs into our schools.

And, since LLR Chuck has expressed a great deal of support for CRT and its proponents, as well as a continued weaponization of the federal government against domestic political opponents and everyday Americans, this entire scenario was tailor made for LLR Chuck to go on the attack.

The fact that its a complete corruption of our federal system for the democraticals to do this just makes it all the sweeter for our resident LLR.

Dies From COVID-19 After Hospital Rejects Court Order For Ivermectin

Although Jeremy Carter was vaccinated against COVID-19, he still caught the virus at the end of August.
He became sick enough to be hospitalized at Rochester General Hospital and continued to deteriorate to the point where he was placed on a ventilator.
After consulting with Carter’s primary care doctor, Carter and his daughter Jill Alvarado wanted to try Ivermectin.
However, the hospital refused to administer the drug to Carter, even though the family said they would gladly sign away any right to file a malpractice lawsuit.

This forced Alvarado to sue Rochester Regional Health, where Rochester General Hospital falls — and she was successful. Finally, a judge sided with the family and ordered the hospital to administer the care.
Still, though, Rochester General Hospital refused. Rochester Regional Health filed an appeal on Saturday, and a hearing was scheduled for Monday, Lewke’s report said.
Carter died on Sunday.

Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jack Sellers and the boards vice chairman, Bill Gates, admitted they intentionally deleted election data to route it onto an archive file. The archives of the county records were not subpoenaed, that way the county could avoid sending the full 2020 election data to the auditors.

Isn't it sort of settled in the United States that a legislature has oversight responsibility for the laws it passes? Why did Maricopa County dodge a subpoena if everything was on the up and up? This seems to be a thing with Democrats, you know, like Hillary deleting all of those emails that she was told to preserve because Congress has an oversight responsibility of the State Department.

I guess if the New York Times doesn't see fit to ask that question, then it shouldn't be asked, and no right thinking person, no good American should bother his head about it.

99.9% of the organism is below ground and can be centuries old. If anything popped up out of nowhere, it's us humans.

The Daily, the student newspaper at the other UW, would publish the location of psilocybin on campus.

Those aren't psilocybins. Could be Agaricus abruptibulbus or "flat-bulb" mushrooms. Very common in Wisconsin. Edible, but disappointingly bland.

Lots of people wonder if it is really true that clear left-wing democrats pose as conservatives and republicans and lifelong republicans (LLR's) on blog sites and other social media when the reverse situation never really occurs at all.

The answer is, yes, it really is true.

One example can be found here: https://www.axios.com/democrats-youngkin-virginia-pac-14c70252-56ff-455e-b7a6-6afbdc570332.html

Another example can be found here: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/26/us/reid-hoffman-alabama-election-disinformation.html

Another example is the use by Facebook of fake conservative grifters David French, Jonah Goldberg and Steve Hayes, who have spent the last several years being paid by facebook to provide false accusations and lie-filled "fact checks" against actual conservative groups in order to de-platform those groups. One such pro-life group that was deplatformed based on French/Goldberg/Hayes lies has proven that the fakecons did lie about them and we know the fakecons know they lied and to this very day the fakecons have never offered an updated "fact check" to correct their earlier lies.....because that is not what they are being paid by Zuckerberg to do.

Another example is our own LLR Chuck.

We finally signed the papers for our construction loan today. Just one problem, the disclosure statement that was presented to us had a different amount for the money we had to bring vs. what was disclosed to us last week. It was only $66 more, but not the same. The title company is checking with the mortgage company on what to do.

The other annoyance was because we use a living trust to put all of our assets in, the signature line was "[Name], individual and trustee of the [last name] family trust as indicated in trust date 02/28/2017." We had to sign that way on about 20 to 30 different forms. What a chore.

Son attends a state university which has instituted a mandatory vaccination policy. They sent an email last week indicating the rec center will be closing at 11am each day for the next two weeks because required mask policies were not being followed appropriately during basketball and volley ball games. After reopening adherence to the policy will be monitored and reassessed. No mention of getting prorated refund of activity fees. The beatings will continue until morale improves. Really, 18-22 year olds that are vaccinated and they pull this crap.

Matt Taibbi in "The Cult of the Vaccine Neurotic" on COVID-19 reporting:

"We’re similarly becoming a nation of totalitarian nitwits, speaking in a borrowed lexicon of mandatory phrases and smelling heresy in anyone who doesn’t. This cult reflex was bad during the Russiagate years, but it’s gone into overdrive since the arrival of COVID. The CNN writer who thinks it’s necessary to put a disclaimer in the lede of a story about molnupiravir, of all things, is basically claiming he or she is afraid a theoretical unvaccinated person might otherwise read the story and be encouraged to not take the vaccine."

Of course, this neurosis runs wild in the reporting on "Climate Change", too. Every paragraph must have its talismanic affirmation of the faith in man-made Climate Change.

Hopefully we'll have some good early rains here in Northern California. then lots of oyster mushrooms that are delicious if you get them young. Then later hopefully chanterelles. There are many other great eating varieties but I don't know enough to pick them.

It is possible to confuse puffballs with an immature "egg" of a toxic Amanita. And I don't think they are nearly as delicious as a number of other varieties like porcini, morels, and cauliflower mushrooms.

Quaestor म्हणाले...

Re: Amanitas

That’s true, but puffballs expand rapidly. When in doubt, leave it alone for 6 to 8 hours. A puffball will be the size of an orange by then.

Try a puffball pizza. Get a large puffball and slice it into four or five “steaks”. Dress one side of each with pizza sauce and mozzarella. Put them under the broiler until the cheese melts and slightly browns.

Thank you for the tip. I usually just fried them in butter. I will try this next year. Quite a few of ours get to the size of a bowling ball.

Your lawn mushrooms are well on their way to forming a complete fairy ring. Keep watching!

The best I've ever seen was on a lawn at the Naval Reseaarch Laboratory grounds in Washington, DC. But NRL is located next to the sewage processing plant for DC, so I think it has an unfair advantage in growing strange things.
