"Thank you so much for posting that. It got my Saturday started with a smile. [My wife] and I are going to see the boys kick off their late-summer tour in Raleigh NC next month with some old deadhead friends from college."

Ha ha. I didn't even think about the shorts. He's got so much goodwill, he can do what he wants.

"Hilarious, and exactly what I would have hoped for out of Weir. It has indeed been a long strange trip."

George writes:

"Millionaire high school dropout Bob Weir, 20, briefly shares the screen with George C. Scott in 1968's Petulia. He's the same now as he was then—he has ADHD and dyslexia, which explains both his poor school performance and odd speech. He has taken care of his body. Men's Health in 2019 said the then 72-year-old Weir exercises "like a beast" even in 90 degree weather. If only Jerry had done the same."

I'll just add:

For some reason, I walked out on "Petulia." It was some time around 1970, when I was in college. Can't remember why it bugged me so much. I've sat through so many movies, and there's only one other movie I've walked out on in my entire life — "Summer of Sam." I know why I walked out on that: I didn't want to watch people getting murdered. Should have thought of that before paying to get in.

I'm not counting a couple movies that I left because there was something wrong with the projection — and I got my money back — or the many many movies I've started to watch on TV and declined to finish.
