"Chainsaw Gordy."

That's from one of our favorite TV shows, "Wisconsin Life." I love the sculptural outdoor display of the chainsaw collection... not to be confused with chainsaw sculptures where chainsaws are the tools used to sculpt things out of tree stumps.

Loved it!

The PBS station in NE has a similar show about quirky Nebraska people and things.

Dozens of logging trucks a day in the UP last summer. I haven't seen that in over 30 years.

Sure....a small cabin in the woods, in rural Wisconsin...somewhere. A man. A mass of chainsaws. The only thing missing is a carload of teenagers whose car breaks down. Late at night. Just a hundred yards from this 'cheerful' man's Chainsaw Totems. They leave their car, walk up the highway looking for help. One of them flashes their flashlight up ahead and it reflects on something...but what is that? They have to move closer.

And when they do...there it is...6-7 Chainsaw Totems. ??!! What the hell? Then they hear a sound and turnaround and...it's...it's...this smiley faced Wisconsin guy. The horror. He's offering them...what? Hot chocolate? And a tour? WTF kind of horror movie is this?

Great way to start the morning. Thanks. I've always been a sucker for Hubcap Ranch type places.

John Hinderaker observed that Wisconsinites are Minnesotans without the smugness. Seems about right to this MN native.

Testing: I posted a Bible verse in a different thread. It disappeared. A Bible verse. I just want to know what is allowed in our freewheeling discussion.

Here it is: "There is no greater love, than a man give his Life for his friends."

Here's the story: I worked with a team of call center employees in the middle of the night. There were 10 of us. 4 men. 6 women. 1 manager . One night, the manager wanted to instruct us about safety, and what to do if an intruder breached the non existent front door security. (There were fat white women who had taken up with black men, and violence broke out from time to time if the white girl hadn't turned over her paycheck)

BTW...I don't expect lawyers to experience this environment. I didn't want to experience this environment either. It's another world.

The Manager, a very nice homosexual male instructed us to hide under our cubicle desks. Shelter in place.

I stood up and addressed the males. I said, "Never shelter in place. Run to the sound of the gun"

3 of the males nodded their heads in recognition. All of the females nodded their heads.

Only one of the guys demurred. He asked, "What? you're going to charge a guy with an AK?" I responded, "Yes". The other guys understood that "There is no greater love, than a man give his Life for his friends."

The dissenter was in the National Guard. On weekends he dressed in soldier costume. When I was in the RA, we called them No Guts. NG.
