.@AmbJohnBolton told me today that if @realDonaldTrump had said he didn’t want to visit Aisne-Marne because the interred heroes were “losers” and “suckers”, he would have written an entire chapter about it in his book #TheRoomWhereItHappened— John Roberts (@johnrobertsFox) September 4, 2020

They're the democrat team. They vote in lockstep on the chosen fiction.
If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood
Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs,
Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud
Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,—
My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,
The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est
Pro patria mori. -Wilfred Owen
The Dem media needs to come up with more believable lies about Trump.
Scott Adams says the smear was effective because you can’t undo it and some people, maybe1-2% according to Adams, will change their vote because of it. He then said the only defense is offense: go after Biden on an equally terrible smear, perhaps that he had sex with an underaged girl.
I agree with Adams that the smear was effective to some degree, I don’t agree that it will affect many votes, and I do agree that offense is the best response. I have long despised Democrats because this is how they have won from JFK to LBJ to BJC to BHO (not sure if Jimmy Carter did it.). But if this is now openly in play, have it.
Joe Biden is a pedophile.
Yeah but Bolton's a liar, right?
Well Goldberg won. He achieved his objective of taking over the news cycle and diverting attention away from all the good news. Leaving aside the fact that Goldberg has NO EVIDENCE that Trump said what Goldberg claims Trump said. We have the following problems:
1) Documents show the Belleau Wood was not visited due to rain.
2) If Trump had called the wW1 dead "losers" Not only Bolten but every Disgruntled White House employee would've leaked it in 2018 or 2019. Every bad thing Trump says or does gets instantly leaked to the Press. Why was this not leaked till now?
3) Trump has always treated the military with the utmost respect, in almost every way.
4) Just because Trump doesn't like wars and McCain, doesn't mean he thinks the Men who died in the military are "losers".
5) No one has ever come up with other trump anti-military quotes like this. Remember the press and the democrats have gone over his life time record with a fine tooth comb. Its completely out of character.
6) Goldberg hates Trump and has lied in the past. Why wouldn't he be lying now?
7) Why doesn't the "anonymous source" if he exists, revel himself? its 2 months to the election, and whoever is leaking now would be a hero to Biden and the Press. If he's no longer with the DoD, he has nothing to fear.
As I think about it, this is a Susan Hennessy (Lawfare) operation all the way. She is a nasty piece of work with “ national security” connections.
So- who to believe? John Roberts and John Bolton or four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day?
On the one hand, this purported anecdote has echoes of Trump's comment about McCain ("He’s not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.") On the other, that was specifically about McCain, and Trump has never hesitated to insult military people (McCain, Kelly, Mattis, the parents of that dead soldier who spoke at the 2016 Democratic convention) when they've offended him. I doubt he would issue a blanket insult to American servicemen as a whole, although I can easily imagine him insulting the generals for bungling Vietnam or the Great War or Afghanistan or whatever.
When he issues blanket, unprovoked insults, it's generally against clear out-groups, from his perspective. E.g. illegal immigrants:
When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.
Or Neo-Nazis:
you had people – and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally
Or the media (well, that's more personal, and not exactly unprovoked).
I just don't think US soldiers fall into that category so the story strikes me as implausible. There might be a grain of truth in there, but it's probably been "sexed up" beyond all recognition.
Do I have easy Comeback on that ???? Trump smartly wait till loser and sucker Bolton is out of the room

.@TheAtlantic story is not true. It has become a very dangerous time when anonymous sources are believed above all else, & no one knows their motivation. This is not journalism - It is activism. And it is a disservice to the people of our great nation.
"Yeah but Bolton's a liar, right?"
Bolton can be a lair, and still not tell every lie that could ever be told. You do understand that, don't you Howard?
"So- who to believe? John Roberts and John Bolton or four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day?"
I don't believe made up, factious people who make anonymous lies about the President. The rest of your sentence is gibberish.
“ four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day”
Exactly what anonymity prevents us from knowing. Careful records are kept of who is near Trump. If we had names we could check. We don’t.
Of course, Bolton did have firsthand knowledge, as he was there, with Trump.
goldberg hates Trump and pushed the Russia-Hoax for three years. Now, we're supposed to believe his lies about Trump based on anonymous made up people. Incredible.
BTW, Biden is out lying about this and attacking Trump. Just like he lied about Trump praising Nazis. Biden is NOT the "Nice Guy" people make him out to be. He's a lying asshole.
Former White House national security adviser John Bolton said in comments published Friday that he never heard President Trump refer to slain American soldiers buried at a French cemetery as "losers" and "suckers."
I didn't hear that," Bolton told The New York Times. "I'm not saying he didn't say them later in the day or another time ..."
So Trump is indirectly affirming that John Bolton was being truthful when he refused to accuse Trump of bad-mouthing dead soldiers. Logically then, Trump must also admit that Bolton made an honest assessment of the president he served when he described Donald as "incompetent and unfit for office."
It does not seem wholly implausible that Trump spoke of the generals and military minds who let skirmishes become battles and trenches become mass graves with less than awed respect. He might have said unkind words about Woodrow Wilson involving the US in European mistakes. He might have used words like idiot and loser. Stripped of all context the report might be as true as the "fine people" remarks.
It disgusts me more with the press than with the president
Shorter gadfly: "Do you like dogs? Hitler liked dogs! You are Hitler or a full supporter! If you didn't like Hitler, you wouldn't like dogs!
You could also read this comment by Bolton as regret that he didn't make up a chapter about this alleged quote. If he'd only thought of this lie, he would have been happy to peddle it.
Howard said...
Yeah but Bolton's a liar, right?
No, everyone but you and gadfly know that, if he saw or heard about this, he would not have resisted to temptation to include it in his book.
You are such transparent liars.

Petty priks, in this case truth is f*ed
The Poor Man's LLR-lefty C**** gadfly: "So Trump is indirectly affirming that John Bolton was being truthful when he refused to accuse Trump of bad-mouthing dead soldiers. Logically then, Trump must also admit that Bolton made an honest assessment of the president he served when he described Donald as "incompetent and unfit for office."'
No, that is not logical, and it does not follow, and you really ought to stop before you make yourself look even worse than you already have, regardless of how amusing it is for others to watch you flail.
Howard: "Yeah but Bolton's a liar, right?"
He is. But unfortunately for you and your marxist Howard's Heroes, not even Bolton will go as far down the BS path as you've gone.
BTW, I've noticed you've stopped your over the top praise of your Howard's Heroes as soon as the democratical narrative shifted to "the riots never happened" followed by "okay okay the riots happened but only because of white supremacists".
Are you ever embarrassed about how the democraticals set you up to look like a fool?
"So Trump is indirectly affirming that John Bolton was being truthful when he refused to accuse Trump of bad-mouthing dead soldiers. Logically then, Trump must also admit that Bolton made an honest assessment of the president he served when he described Donald as "incompetent and unfit for office""
Bolton can be telling the truth on one issue and lying on other issues. People do that all the time.
I'm Not Sure: "So- who to believe? John Roberts and John Bolton or four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day?"
Who are those "four people" again?
I must have missed that.
LOL
rcocean: "goldberg hates Trump and pushed the Russia-Hoax for three years."
That's nothing! gadfly is STILL pushing collusion!

Funny how people want it either/or. Either Bolton is honest about Belleau Wood and thus right about everything he ever said, or Bolton is a liar and thus is lying about this. Have any of you ever studied an ounce of logic? You folks build enough strawmen to staff a field army.
Re: policraticus:
Sorry to be contrary, but I think Wilfred Owen's poetry is terribly overrated, probably for political reasons. I also think "In Flanders Fields" is similarly overrated, albeit for opposing political reasons. Binyon's "For the Fallen" also has that same tendentious, pedestrian feel except for the only passage anyone ever quotes ("They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.")
My favourite Great War poems lamenting senseless death are probably Edward Thomas's "In Memoriam":
The flowers left thick at nightfall in the wood
This Eastertide call into mind the men,
Now far from home, who, with their sweethearts, should
Have gathered them and will do never again.
Housman's "Here Dead We Lie":
Here dead we lie
Because we did not choose
To live and shame the land
From which we sprung.
Life, to be sure,
Is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.
And Margaret Postgate Cole's "Praematuri":
When men are old, and their friends die,
They are not so sad,
Because their love is running slow,
And cannot spring from the wound with so sharp a pain;
And they are happy with many memories,
And only a little while to be alone.
But we are young, and our friends are dead
Suddenly, and our quick love is torn in two;
So our memories are only hopes that came to nothing.
We are left alone like old men; we should be dead
But there are years and years in which we will still be young.
There are others -- e.g.Gibson's "Lament", Marian Allen's "Wind on the Downs," and Palmer's "A Farmer Remembers the Somme" -- too many to excerpt in a comment. None of them strike the tinny political or propagandistic note that Owen's war poems (or Flanders Fields) do. Which is probably why I find them moving, emotionally.
Are you ever embarrassed about how the democraticals set you up to look like a fool?
No, Howard is going to show us the photo from Marine boot camp> it's on his wall next to the photo of Dan Rather.
Re: gadfly:
One's a statement of fact, the other's an opinion. That said, I think there are factual assertions Bolton makes that Trump and his supporters deny, I just can't recall them at this time.
"Who are those "four people" again?"
I don't know. It would appear there are some who give their opinions great weight, though.
Didn’t Trump suggest John Kelly is responsible for this report? Another military sucker. Why Goldberg’s article depicts a Trump who we don’t recognize as long as we ignore his tweets and quotes on camera.
gadfly perverts the normal understanding of truthfulness.
gadfly is a pervert.
"So Trump is indirectly affirming that John Bolton was being truthful when he refused to accuse Trump of bad-mouthing dead soldiers. Logically then, Trump must also admit that Bolton made an honest assessment of the president he served when he described Donald as "incompetent and unfit for office.""
That is one impressively terrible leap of logic, gadfly.
Bolton is full of shit and loathes Trump and even he says that story is false. It's not saying every word he said is true.
come on, man.
It's a good thing the Atlantic hasn't spent the past four years peddling crazed conspiracy theories because in situations like this credibility is currency.
Anyhow, I see a bunch of overly political people panicked by this but I'm less impressed.
As a general rule one can judge the effectiveness of media ploys by looking at local news/social media; does the story appear and how prominent is it. Political partisans love to navel gaze and can easily become obsessed over minor things, regular voters on the other hand couldn't give two shits about some obscure legal maneuver.
If it's front page on the local action news website or being posted by non-political types then it probably was a solid hit. However, if it's not even mentioned in either forum then I hope you'll forgive me for doubting the effectiveness of this hit job.
Put another way, the only people I've seen discussing this are the same people who know what the hell the Hatch Act is. Everybody else is talking about a three day weekend.
"Democrats have been gleefully spitting on veterans since Vietnam."
said everyone paying attention.
About 12 years off and on. For every marc bowden and robert kaplan there has beem a ta nesi coates and other hacks like micharlel gerson
Joe Biden is a pedophile.
I saw him rape my 9-year-old cousin back in 1976 at a Democratic Party event in Wilmington.
roesch/voltaire: "Didn’t Trump suggest John Kelly is responsible for this report?"
The entire lefty media, your partisan media, was talking about Kelly and Mattis today non-stop and many on the left were begging both of them to come out and "confirm" the hoax story.
That's why Trump mentioned Kelly.
But there will be no one coming forward because then all sorts of interesting questions will have to be answered: When did Trump supposedly say this? Where were you when Trump said this? Who else was there when Trump said this?
And that would be the complete end of that lie because it would be very easy to reconstruct every minute of the trip and who was around and what decisions were being made and whammo. The Russia collusion/hoax dossier/kavanaugh gang rape/ukraine phone call hoax/etc etc list would gain one more entry and this would go down as what it actually is:
The Dan Rather/National Guard document forgery scandal of 2004 "upgraded" for the 2020 campaign.
It's always the same with you leftists.
That is one impressively terrible leap of logic, gadfly.
An example of a certified Gadfly syllogism:
Socrates was a man.
Socrates was a homosexual
All men are homosexual
Therefore, all men are Socrates.
I borrowed that from a Woody Allen movie. BTW, Woody Allen is a pedophile. He also approves of Joe Biden. Therefore, Joe Biden is also a pedophile, a fact confirmed by my anonymous testimony above. My poor cousin, humiliated and scarred for life, has no conscious memory of his traumatic encounter with the former vice-president. I witnessed the whole thing and was similarly traumatized, which manifested itself as a total memory blackout that lasted for decades until I saw a news item about a new law in California that decriminalized pedophilia. I needn't point out that both the CA statehouse and governor's mansion are controlled by the Democratic Party, the same organization that claims child-rapist Joe Biden as its candidate for the White House.
This reminds me of that Vindman guy getting huffy about a phone call In which he wasn’t a participant.
Anonymous sources proved thei reliability in the Mueller investigation. They were on the front page every day, but Mueller couldn’t get them togive him anything to work with. Responsible journalists traditionally didn’t publish stuff unless they could verifyi it. Now they just print what their sources tell them, and defend it by saying that they accurateLy reported what their source said.
@ M Jordan
I'm tired of not fighting back. I agree...go all-in on Biden having a pre-teen hair-sniffing fetish.
Of course, the Dems have 'reporters' on their side who will carry their water and do the heavy lifting.
We need to have someone on the RNC side who will ask these questions in a public forum. It's a 'When did you stop beating your wife' strategy.
An apocryphal story about LBJ, a man who knew how to play hardball:
Legend has it that LBJ, in one of his early congressional campaigns, told one of his aides to spread the story that Johnson's opponent fucked pigs. The aide responded "Christ, Lyndon, we can't call the guy a pig fucker. It isn't true." To which LBJ supposedly replied "Of course it ain't true, but I want to make the son-of-a-bitch deny it."
I suppose there have been studies done as to how the Dan Rather fraud influenced the race. Does anyone know whether it influenced anyone's vote? It certainly changed a lot of people's minds about Dan Rather....I put this up there with the Steele dossier. Is there a finite number of fraudulent reports that will cause the majority of the American people to lose faith and trust in the media? To my mind, they have surpassed that number, but there are people who still believe these reports.....Re WWI: Of all the wars I didn't die in, I'm most glad I didn't die in WWI. Most wars are ultimately futile, but that one seems to have been the most hideous failure. Vietnam was a waste, but we were on the right side. WWI did nothing but enable the rise of Hitler, Mussolini, and Lenin.
I'm sure someone is keeping track. I have no idea what the score is. But the fact is, we are going to fed the Lie of the Day from now until Trump is no longer President. Just line them up and knock them down. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a schedule. And watch and see. Like being voted into the Hall of Fame, after five years of no Trump, the Left will rehabilitate him.
"Yeah but Bolton's a liar, right?"
Oh, he is definitely a liar, Howard, but today's statement as reported by Roberts is clearly one against interest. In short, Bolton couldn't support the lie (and we can now call it a lie) told in The Atlantic because he had already written about the event itself, all the while not mentioning something that would have been the most interesting thing about the event.
We can believe Bolton told the truth today, because he would not have passed up the opportunity to tell this story in his book were it actually true. Only a moron can't see this, so are you a moron, Howard?
I'm starting to wonder if this isn't some cockamamie attempt to try and turn the military against Trump, that way when Biden refuses to concede (which he will, even if Trump wins in a Nixon-like landslide) the military will switch sides and force Trump out of office.
Or then again, maybe I need to get out more.
" You do understand that, don't you Howard?"
Of course he does. Nobody is that stupid, are they?
Just in case Howard IS having a problem with this simple lie. I'll offer this helpful perspective. Bolton already published his book. He can't make any more money off of lying or embellishing now, and I think he realizes how much that book money cost him in respect from intelligent and reasonable people. Why would he lie now? It doesn't pay anymore.
And of course a liar doesn't have to lie about everything unless they have TDS. Then they can't help it, the poor things.
Quick, someone please list the persons who reported this (anonymously, of course). Then we shall do some checking. Until then, we are left to guess which of the untold number of Biden supporters picked up the phone to report this bogus story.
Ralph L said...The Dem media needs to come up with more believable lies about Trump.
And for that, they’d have to step out of their bubbles and reacquaint themselves with reality. As things currently stand, they have no ability to judge what is believable.
Well. That got the usual suspects out from under their slime covered rocks.
A good rule of thumb when dealing with the left vis-a-vis Our Prez, is simply to assume they are either lying or deliberately misquoting. Always assume when in conversation with a leftist that they are lying. Just pretend you're having a conversation with a car salesman.
"Oh, he is definitely a liar, Howard, but today's statement as reported by Roberts is clearly one against interest. In short, Bolton couldn't support the lie (and we can now call it a lie) told in The Atlantic because he had already written about the event itself, all the while not mentioning something that would have been the most interesting thing about the event.”
Exactly. Howard won’t be able to understand this argument because it goes against his prejudice so he is unable to even think about whether it is right or not, but it is exactly right.
Howard said...
Yeah but Bolton's a liar, right?
Why do people think this is a good argument? It is painfully stupid. The point of bringing up Bolton is that the new explosive tell-all is directly contradicted by the previous explosive tell-all, which people fawned over for weeks. Were you lying then, or are you lying now? BoLtOn Is TrUsTwOrThy NoW?! Is not some clever rebuttal; it just highlights the crisis in your own credibility, and makes it seem like you are too stupid to understand the contradiction.
military absentee ballots.
The Dems/media have now done the battle field prep. "President Trump's attitude towards the troops has been revealed.
Now, when a massive swing of military votes towards Biden happens, the DNC/media can point to September 4th when President Trump lost the military vote. If the DNC media waited til October, it would be a lot harder to sell the notion, with so many absentee ballots already marked and in transit.
Question for those who believed any of this for even one second: how many examples of Anonymously Sourced 100% Made-up Bullshit Stories do you need before you decide that taking them seriously makes *you* a fool?
10? 1,000? 100,000,000?
Your number probably needs to be lower, whatever it is. It must be horrible to keep getting your chain yanked like that by people who think you’re stupid and easily manipulated.
You know it's sexist. If Trump were a woman he could have worn one of those scarf things to protect his hair,
But "guys can't do that", they have to just stand in the rain and get their hair ruined. SAD.
Is Ciaramella out and about these days? He seems to meet the description of a former senior administration official. What about his pal who went to Schiff's committee?
It's The Atlantic. Consider the source.
Think of the media as the drug dealer who buys toxic poison in bulk from evil Deep State suppliers and sells daily hits of it to junkie “news consumers” who happily line up to buy it so they can feel the emotional high of getting their anger buttons pushed.
Your weaknesses are being exploited for profit and power by evil fuckheads who hate you for buying what they sell.
Same model, it’s just lies, propaganda and disinformation instead of cocaine.
Maybe stop being a party to it. You have choices, and some of them ruin your day and, over time, your mental health.
My take is that Trump was afraid to say things like this in front of Bolton, he feared him that much.
This smear looks like an 'October surprise' launched prematurely. They could have just waited. The Friday of a Labor day weekend seems odd. Were they expecting a load of indictments and/or guilty plea's from the Durham investigation yesterday? One or two weeks before the election date would seem more logical.
'He could have said it'
So Bolton is saying. What could Biden have said? He likes little girls. It's well documented. He likes to touch little girls. What could Biden have said about little girls? Let you imagination run wild.
"My take is that Trump was afraid to say things like this in front of Bolton, he feared him that much.”
Trump used Bolton as a bad cop, and over-ruled Bolton when Bolton tried to start a hot war with Iran. That’s your hero, the guy who is mad at Trump because Trump called off his precious hot war with Iran. Do you remember that at all? Iran shot down one of our unmanned spy planes? Is any of this ringing a bell?
Balfegor: my favorite, and I’m no poetry maven, by Pete Seeger’s uncle:
I have a rendezvous with Death
At some disputed barricade,
When Spring comes back with rustling shade
And apple-blossoms fill the air—
I have a rendezvous with Death
When Spring brings back blue days and fair.
It may be he shall take my hand
And lead me into his dark land
And close my eyes and quench my breath—
It may be I shall pass him still.
I have a rendezvous with Death
On some scarred slope of battered hill,
When Spring comes round again this year
And the first meadow-flowers appear.
God knows 'twere better to be deep
Pillowed in silk and scented down,
Where Love throbs out in blissful sleep,
Pulse nigh to pulse, and breath to breath,
Where hushed awakenings are dear ...
But I've a rendezvous with Death
At midnight in some flaming town,
When Spring trips north again this year,
And I to my pledged word am true,
I shall not fail that rendezvous.
And then, there’s the minor war poet Pvt. S. Baldrick:
The German Guns
Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom,
Boom, Boom, Boom,
Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom,
Boom, Boom, Boom
Untitled Second Poem
Hear the words I sing,
War's a horrid thing,
So I sing sing sing...ding-a-ling-a-ling.
Remember when the press made such a huge deal about the disrespect Hillary showed uniformed military in the White House when she lived there? Me neither.
Remember when the press made such a huge stinking deal about the insults Kerry heaped on our military? Asking Bush to elaborate on his feelings on the matter of Kerry’s sordid words? Me neither. I remember the soldiers in Iraq with their “Halp me Jon Carrey” sign heard about it though.
Remember when Goldberg’s articles were used to get us into the Iraq war? Good times.. good times.
You Democrats are climbing into bed with some war-mongering sleazebags.
What do Biden and Goldberg have in common? Both huge supporters of the Iraq War.
As a lifelong consumer of the literature that came out the First World War, I can tell you that the dead of that war have always been seen as losers and, more typically, suckers. It’s implied sympathetically, or in outrage, but it’s always implied.
“What could Biden have said? He likes little girls. It's well documented. He likes to touch little girls. What could Biden have said about little girls? Let you imagination run wild.”
Good God. What if the October surprise is a credible and specific accusation of pedophilia against Biden by a now-adult victim? He didn’t just start doing this stuff yesterday. Pig fucker, indeed.
We have people who've gone on record, including people no longer in the Administration -so no need to fear for their jobs - who say this didn't happen.
So the game moves forward, and these "Anonymous" sources now have to come forward now and be named - or its not believable.
Good God. What if the October surprise is a credible and specific accusation of pedophilia against Biden by a now-adult victim? He didn’t just start doing this stuff yesterday. Pig fucker, indeed.
9/5/20, 11:31 AM
Why do you think they want all the early voting, i.e. mail-in? No channel for buyer's remorse after they show the video of Biden with the Firefly Girl.
I'm hoping Judicial Watch finds some documents confirming (sorry) the story about Biden feeling up the Secret Service agent's wife at a photo shoot. The SS has tried to destroy the records but all bureaucracies are incompetent. Big photos of the agent and his wife. juicy details. The agent was going to punch out Joe (Take him behind the barn Joe) and had to be restrained. Great story for October.
I always like Kurt Vonnegut’s “Tent Rentals” for military poetry:
Rented a tent, a tent, a tent.
Rented a tent, a tent, a tent.
Rented a tent
Rented a tent
Rented a, rented a... tent.
While she was talking about white people being born as not human I thought of "furry fetish", which I imagine, but don't know since I'm not a practitioner, is most likely a white thing and maybe that's where it comes from, white people embracing their not human-ness.
It could also mean a belief in whites as superhuman, adapting the Nietzschean view of things, but she's probably not meaning to go there.
Wherever she's going, I'm not along for the ride. Although I'd probably get there before she does.
