The Salt Lake Temple, dedicated in 1893, was the first temple topped with Angel Moroni, according to the church. The 12-foot-5-inch statue, made of copper and gold leaf, stands on a stone ball atop the 210-foot central spire on the east side of the temple....
The church teaches that Moroni was an ancient prophet who led Mormonism's founder, Joseph Smith, to the golden plates from which the Book of Mormon was translated. Moroni's horn, the church says, symbolizes spreading the message of the restoration of Christianity that Mormons believe was begun by Smith....

It is interesting to read a summary of your beliefs written by someone who does not share them. The summary may be fairly accurate, while failing to capture the true flavor. It's like reading an instruction manual written in English by someone who doesn't speak the language well. You might be able to understand what was written, but its still off (and off-putting).
It's the original horn of Jesus, for all I know about the weird religion.
Any one having visions yet??
I find this pretty symbolic and I'm sure others do too, just probably not in the way I do.

The Wasatch Fault doesn't like trumpet music.
Lucky for the LDS Church that Moroni's preferred instrument was not the bagpipes.
You people should be in love with the Wasatch fault because it is considered by geologists to be "normal"
The angel and the trumpet are from Revelation 14:6 which says "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people."

In the Bible, Jesus is not the guy with horns.
Jeez, that’s a bit apocalyptic. Glad I’m not a Mormon. Makes me want to watch The Passion of Darkly Noon again.
Did Joseph Smith find that in the woods near Batavia, New York too? If so does this mean Mormons will no longer br horney.
Has Mitt Romney blamed Trump yet?
Not even the most ardent Mormons believe this statue has magical powers.
The first comment says it all.
And misogyny is the weirdest of "weird religion", Hardin.

Quite so. I know that of the 50 billion people who call themselves Christians, nearly all of them have definite opinions about the Catholic Church. "Interesting" is the word, and the term 'Gell-Mann amnesia effect' also comes to mind.
Four years ago lightning blew off part of the Angel Moroni’s head at the Bountiful Temple just north of Salt Lake City. Latter Days indeed.
There's a joke which ends with the old nun saying "The bishop told me that was Gabriel's horn, and I've been blowing that thing for twenty years."
Ill omens.
Yeah, atheists get told what we think by others all the time too, so I can sympathize with the LDSers.

(Punchline: Those Jewish folks sure are nice to the help!)
Narr1 = same old Narr.

Does this mean Pierre Delecto can shut up and go away now? I will say that we don't seem to have heard much from him lately, which is nice.
Did I Step on Your Trumpet?
"There's a joke which ends with the old nun saying "The bishop told me that was Gabriel's horn, and I've been blowing that thing for twenty years.""

People like to laugh when they are afraid,
but slander and calumny,
as comfortable as they seem to the mocker,
are not your friends.
Very helpful advice in this particular post click to download! It’s the little changes that make the largest changes. Thanks for sharing!
