Could you *safely* walk across the lake to other shore and the State Capitol?

That snow drift looks like an excellent fortification to defend against snowball fight invaders from across the lake.

Amazon region 2 dvd comes swiftly from France, sorted by a french robot, transferred from JFK to post office, delivered but Amazon is unaware of its delivery. Still some glitches in the system. Probably it was baffled by a mailing label change in the US.

I wouldn’t without local knowledge. Larger lakes freeze and then the wind stress on the ice may more parts of it, like continental drift, opening up water, which then freezes over again a lot thinner than the rest of it. I remember driving by a. local bay that had a culvert onto another part of the lake under the road into which water flowed one direction or the other depending on which side of the lake was higher at the time, undermining the ice around it, and seeing a group of snowmobiles in a semicircle shining their headlights onto a rescue attempt for a guy who went through. You could see by the tags on the cars parked with snowmobile trailers along the road that they were all from out of state, probably some club. Didn’t think they needed a guide, apparently.

Stick to the beaten path if you aren’t sure. Usually the locals who drown are older guys who have lost their sense of what is safe that was probably pretty flawless when they were young men.

Probably. I see the ice fishermen out there. And all those footprints.

I recommend cross country skis.

And I'd have those ice claw things in case I need to crawl out.

In snow like that you can jog half as far and get several times the workout.

"In snow like that you can jog half as far and get several times the workout."

Where I am running there is snow that is not plowed or shoveled. It's just beaten down by footsteps. Underneath is snow that has melted and refrozen, so it's quite bumpy. Slow going for sure. I haven't been giving myself credit for getting more exercise because of this difficulty. Just thinking it's making me slow and I don't like to feel that I'm plodding or that running isn't even faster than walking.

Anyway, I never think of what I'm doing as a "workout." That just doesn't fit with my attitude at all. If I thought, I'm going for a workout, I wouldn't go.

Doing some research into our family history lately. We found that my wife has ancestors who fought in both the Revolutionary and Civil wars. On my side of the family I've found at least one ancestor who was a high ranking officer in the Union army - a distant great uncle of my mother's.

All of the Civil war veterans on both sides of the family fought for the North. One was killed, and at least one wounded.

At least as far as I can tell, none of our relatives held slaves, as they all resided in free states.

Should we pay taxes to support reparations?

No Jersey, you don't. Only true Americans take responsibility for their entire country, not just the bits that they like. So where did you flee too, Southeast Florida?

If I thought, I'm going for a workout, I wouldn't go.

Hmmm. Opposite of me. Vive la différence!

Before I zoomed in and realized my mistake, I thought this was a before-and-after of the capital building being beheaded (dedomed?)!

A great day to be a seller of stock!

Several indexes up yesterday to new highs. Today the Dow Industrials joined in with their new high.

Because everything all around the world is totally aweshumshaush.
