I really REALLY hope he means it that Hunter will be called as a witness.
Exposing the Democrat corrupt kickback and money laundering via foreign aid racket is paramount. Utterly crucial. That it will completely undermine the impeachment is just a bonus, not even the main motivator.
Trump will never let anyone forget the corruption of his opponents. He'll mock and nicknamify them over and over again. He's the pesky stopper on the memory hole that so much deep state detritus usually quietly slips down.
A new piece in Time magazine does shed some light on the thought process behind Pelosi's decision to refuse to hand over articles of impeachment to a Senate whose majority doesn't want them. One of the most interesting nuggets in the piece isn't that Pelosi -- portrayed as courageous risk-taker -- had gotten the bright idea from CNN; it's that she specifically got it from noted felon John Dean, Nixon's former White House lawyer. Now, Dean is often portrayed as a patriotic, whistleblowing impeachment expert -- which is true insofar as he planned the Watergate coverup, and then informed on everyone whom he conspired with after they were caught. His real expertise is cashing in on criminality for the past 50 years.
I have long believed that Dean was really the architect of the Watergate burglary. He was worried that the DNC had the goods on his former "escort" wife, Maureen. Chuck, of course, will accuse me of spreading this on the internet, but it's been known or suspected for decades.
It appears the dems/LLR-lefties (like Chuck) are freaking out over the failure of their Queen God Nancy to leverage the moronic Articles of Galactic Sham-wow-peachment to any great effect in the Senate.
It's hilarious watching the same dems/lefties/LLR-lefties who swore up and down that there has never been a more brilliant and amazing and fantastic and superlative and incomparable Speaker of the House than Nancy Pelosi now falling all over themselves explaining why this complete and utter defeat of Nancy by McConnell is really 147th Dimensional Political Chess by Goddess Nancy and why it spells certain doom (DOOM I tellya!!) for Trump in the Senate!
BTW, anyone else notice that as of late, while McConnell has been smacking LLR-lefty Chuck's dem pals around like they were 1940's screen actresses, LLR-lefty Chuck has been much more reluctant to carry on his typical FakeCon "Oh I actually totally support McConnell" schtick?
Yep. Don't hear much from LLR-lefty Chuck about McConnell anymore.
This is especially true in the last year when I believe the dam finally broke and lots and lots of republican Senators, who had been on the fence about Trump because the Republican Senators simply could not believe the CIA/DOJ/FBI/NSA would really set out to frame an American President, came to see that is exactly what was done by LLR-lefty Chuck's beloved dems and obama-ites.
Think back to 2017/18 when all we heard from Chuckie boy was how much he respected and liked McConnell and we all needed to get behind McConnell to advance "republican" causes and fight against that horrible OrangeManBad.
But since the Mueller report....nothing from Chuckie about McConnell!
The jig really is up for you, isn't it Chuck? There is no more cover for you. Nowhere to hide any longer.
It seems like only yesterday LLR-lefty Chuck was going on and on and on and on about the Fake News story about Trump and the Gorilla Channel.
When it was all exposed as typical lefty/LLR fakery LLR-lefty Chuck simply moved on.
And now we have this amazing story that Nancy Pelosi, LLR-lefty Chuck's Speaker Dreamgirl, got her idiotic "hold on to the Articles for-ev-uh!" idea from convicted felon and huge lefty/LLR hero John Dean during a CNN Democrat Team Meeting.
Of course, we already know that is fake since all the strategy and ideas for how to frame Trump come from the far far far left radical and marxist "Lawfare" Group that LLR-lefty Chuck religiously links to.

My (life-long Democrat) wife and I had a rare political discussion the other day.
She said "Trump lies all the time". I asked, "Can you give me one example".
She could not come up with one and was was flustered. I said, "How about 'I did not have sex with that woman ...' Oops. That was another guy".
She stopped talking to me for 30 minutes.
She gets all her news from the mainstream media. They are powerful in that way.

You get the same sort of response when you question someone that says Trump was rightfully impeached due to the crimes he committed. What crimes did he commit? .... How about perjury, oops, that was the other guy...
It is pretty clear that dems really want to get their grubby little mitts on the Weinstein-authored Grand Jury material that is full of innuendo and lies and constitutes another Steele-Dossier 2 as well as every single opposition research items the team of 18 angry democrats and 40 angry FBI agents on Muellers team put together by abusing their counterintelligence operation to serve the democrats needs.
For that the dems need the impeachment hearings to be ongoing to convince judges to let them have it all.
That's probably why Nancy didn't want to send the Articles over, not just because the Articles are empty assertions with nothing behind them.
Former National Security Council Staffer Mike Doran: I Know, For a Fact, That Members of the Obama Administration Sent Personal Letters to Iran's Terror Chief Qassem Suleimani
Well well well.
Maybe we should have a look at those letters, eh dems/LLR's?
My god that's awesome. Right up there with Rooster Cogburn or 'The Gipper'. He should own this and use it. Cowboy hat, chaps, riding atop his Appaloosa Pony-Pelosi with Spotted-Grey-Schumer in reserve as he digs in his heels and gallops off into the sunset and another 4 year term.
I listened to a good chunk of the rally last night. Trump talks like a real person and is so f***ing hilarious. Appreciate it while you can, folks. Someday, hopefully not for another 5 years, Trump will be replaced by, almost certainly, some total snooze bag of a politician.
How come Hunter gets to go to Yale law school, join the Navy at age 40, sleep with his sister-in-law, impregnate Arkansas strippers, and then run UKranian oil companies and Chinese hedge-fund companies.
He really is an International Man of Mystery. How is that possible?
Tell us more about how Trump's rallies are meaningless indicators of nothingness Chuck. it was very entertaining yesterday!
Rush yesterday was talking about how the campaign staff interviews everyone who attends those rallies. Including those who must wait outside. They know who they are and are no doubt signing them up for donors and poll watchers. Maybe having 100,000 Trump rally veterans is a way to deal with ballot harvesting. The only real worry I have about November is vote fraud.
And bad boy image. Don't forget bad boy. Women gush when confronted with a guy who's not afraid to shiggy-diggy with his dead brother's wife and catches the eyes of strippers. Trust me it's proven science.
For a while I used to fake being a Ukrainian Gas executive too, you'd think there was a never-ending pipeline-of-poon piped directly to my location.
Just remember you can't criticize me for pretending to be a Ukrainian Gas executive to score chicks. After all, so was Hunter.

Yup. I was telling my wife last night that I started out detesting his style, then I grew accustomed to it, and now I've reached the point that I really enjoy it. He still makes comments here and there that make me uncomfortable, but overall it's the best show on TV. I think we'll see more aggressive politicians for a long time, but it will be hard to find any with his flair and complete fuck you attitude. Smart aspiring politicians will study him for decades to come. Fools will dismiss him.
Blogger Drago said... It seems like only yesterday LLR-lefty Chuck was going on and on and on and on about the Fake News story about Trump and the Gorilla Channel. ...
No I never did that. I think that right now is the first time I have ever typed the words “Gorilla Channel.”
More of your insane, distracting, boring, obsessive fantasizing about me. Why Althouse allows it is such a mystery to me.
Lucid, you are correct. Bad boy image helps out a ton with strippers. But it takes a complete lack of conscience to bang your late brother's widow. There's tons and tons of emotionally fragile tail available to any man willing to set aside all basic norms of behavior. Grieving widows? Ordinarily, the dead man's brother is the one protecting her from predators. HB was the predator.
How do you get Commissioned as a Naval Officer at age 43?!!? Shouldn't you be Captain or Admiral by age 43?
Also, my vague recollection of joining the Navy at age 18 was that you had to disclose all drug use in writing, under penalty of perjury. Did Hunter have to do that too?
Hmmm. He musta got a waiver. Several.
According to Wiki:
In May 2013, Biden's application for a position in the U.S. Navy Reserve was approved.[25] Biden was accepted as part of a program that allows a limited number of applicants with desirable skills to receive commissions and serve in staff positions.[26] He received an age-related waiver and a waiver due to a past drug-related incident, and was sworn in as a direct commission officer.[25] Joe Biden administered his commissioning oath in a White House ceremony.[14]
Other more famous disappearances include that of Fan Bingbing. According to the South China Morning Post, China's most famous actress disappeared for several months and was held under a form of detention known as “residential surveillance.” She literally disappeared without trace. No twitter, no gossip mag interviews. Nothing. This woman is THE biggest star in the world and the Chinese government made her disappear for three months.
Also, it would be nice to know what happened to Chandra Levy...
Sorry, Lucid, I don't think the two behaviors are equivalent. She's a grieving widow and emotionally vulnerable. He's a predatory cokehead taking advantage of whatever opportunity happens to cross his path. I'm not portraying her as a blameless saint, but the bulk of the blame for that event is on him. He's a turd.
I have yet to hear of any single such skill possessed by Hunter Biden, aside from banging widows and strippers and doing coke. That's the whole basis for Trump wanting him investigated. His only "desirable skill" is getting his father to pull corrupt strings.
Lucid-Ideas: "Alright this is bugging the crap out of me. What does "LLR" mean? Anyone?"
Our noted racist commenter Chuck long ago, in the midst of one of his endless and serial lefty-talking point storms, self-identified as a "lifelong republican".
@Bay Area Guy said... Informal poll -- Who's the sleaziest, most unctuous 50-year old white man of the bunch?
(a) Adam Schiff (b) Peter Strzok; or (c) Hunter Biden
As the final DOJ - IG report notes, Pete Strzok “was not the primary or sole decision maker on any investigative step” and at one point opposed FISA monitoring of another Trump campaign staff member that case agents proposed. His illegally published emails were private conversations that were largely misrepresented by the President.
Hunter Biden worked for a Ukrainian gas company, but his greed is far less obvious and his political power doesn't get close to those of the President. Biden's son, of course, is outside the items of impeachment .
Both Adam Schiff and his predecessor Devin Nunes misrepresented some minor aspects of the details of Trump's violations - but Trump is the dictator in charge.
You could say Hunter is the main issue in the 2020 campagne. He is the bagman's bagman for the stolen slush funds of the Democrats and RINOs that have been selling the American voters interests to the highest bidder for 40 years. He represents the reason why Donald Trump was drafted to run for office by the Q guys.
And now, Lucid-Ideas: you’d rightly ask, “Racist? What is Chuck’s history as a racist commenter? He was banned for being a racist?”
The answer is that I was never “banned,” and never blocked for any racism, and I have never posted any racist commentary. I once satirized Trump, disparaging some of his executive branch appointments even as I congratulated Trump on his nomination of Gina Haspel at CIA. And I ridiculed “Dr. Ricky Bobby” for Veterans Affairs or Dr. Ben Carson for “Department of Black People.”
I was ridiculing Trump executive choices. I have met Dr. Carson, decades ago, when he was an expert witness in a medical malpractice case. I thought he was brilliant, and that he was nice guy as well. And I said so on these pages.
We’ve been over this more times than I can count, and Althouse hates this sort of personal back-and-forth between commenters with no relationship to the topic of the blog post. But my detractors keep repeating it. I don’t know why Althouse tolerates it from them. It assuredly is not me that continually repeats these personal diversions. And it isn’t even like I have so many attackers here that Althouse’s blog would fail if she banners them all. It really is just a handful of freaks, typified by and led by Drago, that regularly and routinely cause what you see on this page.
I criticize Trump. And they cannot stand it.
I loathe Trump. And Meade seems to have an issue with that.
I think part of what matters in these adolescent name-calling exercises is how much it hurts the target, since the guy making the insult is diminished at least a little bit by stooping so low.
So when Graydon Carter at Vanity Fair called Donald Trump a “short-fingered vulgarian,” he never expected it to become a thing and he probably would have been happy if it had faded away. But then in a long-running interchange that is now historic, Trump himself kept mailing Sharpie-annotated photos to Carter, noting the apparent/claimed length of his fingers. You cannot make this shit up.
What my democrat friends hate the most about me bringing up Hunter (and why Trump does it too) is because the stench of corruption is easy enough for a small child to understand. Its pretty simple. Someone who neither speaks Russian or Chinese got millions and then billions of dough without any discernible job skills other than his last name was Biden. The press and Biden harrumph and puff their chests that it's all perfectly legal for Hunter to sit on these boards, fly on the VP's jets and many of us wonder how can that possibly be so? If there aren't any laws on the books to prevent this, why not?
LLR-lefty Chuck, after 3 straight years of losing and the complete collapse of the sham-peachment hoax in which Chuck placed ALL his political hopes for returning dems to power, continues with his hilarious Let's Repeat 2016 As If Nothing Has Happened Since ploy!!
LOL
LLR-lefty Chuck has recently linked to Andy McCarthy stories from 2016 and about a half dozen other commenters who long ago came around on Trump to acceptance and in some cases open support.
Chuck, like all leftists, considers this tactic of using older articles to insinuate current opposition to Trump as "clever".
Hunter Biden worked for a Ukrainian gas company, but his greed is far less obvious and his political power doesn't get close to those of the President.
Earning your own money is "greed" to gadfly. Hunter got his the old fashioned way. Father's corruption.
no the guy who spiked the most critical element of the Epstein story, that Vicky ward had been working on, he also pretends he was against Weinstein as well,
then you have his other Rosemont Seneca pal devon archer, who was leasing a property to allen ho, of cgn, who went up for two years for selling nuclear secrets to china,
"The only real worry I have about November is vote fraud."
Besides all the other positive indicators out there there is also the fact that a lot of states are cleaning up their voter records. The Dems are fighting it of course.
The running joke between my wife and I, whose father died two years ago is Her "I wonder who he will be voting for this year" Me "I wonder how many times he will be voting this year"
"What my democrat friends hate the most about me bringing up Hunter (and why Trump does it too) is because the stench of corruption is easy enough for a small child to understand."
This.
How do I know our leftist commenters engage only in bad faith? Because they deny obvious Biden corruption. They repeat "discredited" like a mantra without ever saying *how* any of it was discredited. If they can so blatantly lie about something so obvious, there's nothing they will not lie about. And it's not like it can be minimized either. We're talking blatant kickbacks in the millions of taxpayer dollars and enabling foreign corruption.
You CANNOT claim that Biden's extreme corruption isn't self evident and obvious and retain a shred of credibility. There is enough in the public sphere already to qualify as prima fascia evidence of corruption.
But since their whole impeachment sham relies on claiming Hunter's innocence, they're willing to sacrifice their integrity for the team.
And that dishonor will stain their memory for all time.
And by the way, all that public evidence that is enough to qualify as prima fascia evidence of Biden's corruption was available when Trump talked to Zelensky. It's WHY he talked to Zelensky. It was so obvious that he would've been derelict in his duty to ignore it.
The impeachment is a sham from top to bottom. It's only purpose is coverup. And every informed person knows it. It's disgusting how many are willing to lie about it.
Blogger Drago said... Banned Commenter LLR-lefty Chuck: "The answer is that I was never “banned,”..."
This is patently false. ...
You’d think, that if I had been “banned,” I’d know about it. When, and why. Or that Althouse would have written about it.
I am well aware that Althouse has bristled at me, and once told me to not be a “dick.” (I would indeed expect to be banned if I had ever blandly called Althouse the female gender equivalent of “dick.”) I think in part it was because I hate Trump so much and partly because I openly disagree with her on a semi-frequent basis and then especially because I regularly challenge her moderation policies with me taking the position that she should do more to punish commenters who regularly initiate purely personal attacks and related “clutter.” Consistent with Althouse’s own admonitions to commenters.
and Pelosi jr's viscoil, and romney aide cofer black, who we first met nabbing carlos the jackal in 94 in khartroum, that's why burisma hired him for his oil connections, then you have congressional candidate evelyn farkas as well as fmr ambassador john herbst,
so there are so many angles they could pursue but do not, we're fed this drivel, it doesn't matter if it's the times, the post, the journal, even fricking usa today, which like Jason vorhees refuses to go away
I know this has been discussed a lot in earlier posts, but I want to remind everyone that the reason for calling the Bidens as witnesses in impeachment has nothing to do with embarrassing them, or the Democrats, or making the argument that people other than Trump are bad actors. The reason for calling the Bidens as witnesses in an impeachment trial is to investigate the the question of whether or not there was a legitimate policy rationale for Trump to offer a quid-pro-quo to a foreign government to persuade the foreign government to take an action that would benefit Trump politically. If there is (was) no legitimate policy rationale then what Trump did was almost certain impeachable, and for anyone except the crazies, indefensible. But the easy clear defense is that Trump was pursuing a legitimate policy rationale -- to seek assistance in an investigation of corruption and misuse of funds in the administration of US foreign aid. Testimony from the Bidens would provide information about the prima facie case that there was such corruption and misuse of funds. So, to follow this line of defense: first call constitutional law scholars (including those who testified before the House committees) and ask them whether or not it is an impeachable offense for a president to offer a quid-pro-quo to a foreign leader to persuade the foreign leader to take an action or make an announcement that is helpful politically for the President, regardless of whether the President is pursuing a legitimate policy objective. If the experts say "yes" (which I doubt any would) ask if Truman's offering to stop bombing in return for Japanese surrender was impeachable (if anyone answers yes to this, he is just exposing himself as stupid.) So the experts will agree that what Trump did was not impeachable if he was pursuing a legitimate policy objective. That testimony then provides a basis for opening up the Biden question.
Here's a funny thing. People have different IQs. If you are high IQ, you talk to people as if everyone is like you. Perhaps you want to establish your authoritah. My guess is Donald J is high IQ, but he is not constrained by that. He just talks to people. Not trying to prove anything. Just talking to people. Even foreign leaders. He just talks to them. Drives the State Department folks around the bend. They've spent decades trying to prove their bona fides, with language. Imagine talking to a foreign leader saying, "Hey, how ya doin'". It's earth shattering. What trial lawyer doesn't know that you step down your language when addressing a jury. I confess, I am diggin' this guy Donald J.
now of course one of the snippets was naftogaz, burismas chief customer was lobbying the good colonel vindman, it's not like we need their natural gas, so what was this about,
"How come Hunter gets to go to Yale law school, join the Navy at age 40, sleep with his sister-in-law, impregnate Arkansas strippers, and then run UKranian oil companies and Chinese hedge-fund companies.
He really is an International Man of Mystery. How is that possible?"
Obviously Hunter has Big Dick Energy. the problem is that the Big Dick is his Father.
My wife and I dearly love our little black dog. There are a lot of things wrong with this rescue critter. That said there are a lot of things right about her, and as my wife notes, the dog is good for at least three or four laugh out loud moments a day.
Now I'm not comparing Trump to a dog---but a good part of his appeal to we deplorables out here is that the Trumpster tells it like it is, and shows a sense of humor in doing it.
My democrat friends are very obtuse when you quiz them about how is it possible Hunter Biden to get all of these plum jobs and salaries given his erratic past of drug abuse, naval dishonorable discharge and general jackassery. They shrug and say "sure he got the job because of his dad's connections but that's not illegal" HIS DAD OVERSEE U.S POLICY WITH UKRAINE AND CHINA, ASSHOLES!
Chuck thinks bone spurs are funny. As someone who suffers from them off and on, I can affirm that they are seriously painful. I hope Chuck gets bone spurs himself and learns the hard way what heel pain is all about.
@h Good comment, I wish you would show up here more often. I would question this small part though.
"Testimony from the Bidens would provide information about the prima facie case that there was such corruption and misuse of funds."
Wouldn't suspicion, given the existing facts at the time, be enough? Shouldn't Trump try to get investigations into past and present signs of corruption on a reasonable suspicion of such, regardless of whether or not the Bidens testify. Just a question of Presidential duties, not whether it is politically expedient. Do you need to prove the Bidens were on the take first?
Chuck wrote: I think in part it was because I hate Trump so much . . .
Keep in mind that "Chuck" has said that he voted for Trump. FYI, I did not vote for Trump. I voted Constitution Party in 2016. Mister Integrity, I am. Compared to "Chuck," anyhow.
I agree with pacwest in that there was *obviously* enough grounds for legitimate suspicion for Trump to ask Zelenski what he did. Even if Hunter has some hidden bizarre skill that would justify his ridiculous salary at Burisma, there's stil the ironclad, admitted, videotaped fact that his father shut down a prosecutor investigating the company. The *appearance* of corruption is undeniable, and alone was enough that the grounds for impeachment were always farcical. The Dems knew it, too, or they wouldn't have prevented House Republicans from participating in the hearings, on the obviously bullshit grounds of "too urgent to waste time on your witnesses and cross examinations!". A one sided star chamber was the only way it *could* get as far as it did.
The reason to get Hunter on the stand is to force the media to talk about it. To force the obviousness of that appearance of corruption into every living room in the country. And since he IS so patently guilty, let's prove it, and get him and a few dozen other Dems (and any Reps involved too) thrown in fucking jail where they belong.
Type Trump into "find on the page" and you get 55 hits (now 56). Type Hunter and you get 36 (now 37) including 3 in the header. Type Chuck? You get 53 (now 54).
US Financial aid to Ukraine------------> Barisma-------> Hunter Biden (Clintons probably too)-------------> Hunter Biden is wealthy beyond belief from the US tax payer.
“My democrat friends are very obtuse when you quiz them about how is it possible Hunter Biden to get all of these plum jobs and salaries given his erratic past of drug abuse, naval dishonorable discharge and general jackassery. Amazingly Trumpists don’t see anything odd about the business dealings of the Trump children based on their father’s presidency and his connections. How about all those trademark approvals Ivanka received from China?
Poor Inga: she apparently thinks running international businesses successfully over the years in a legal fashion is just the same as having your VP father plonking you down into high-paying sinecure jobs at foreign entities, w/o a scintilla of skills or track record on your part.
My favorite bit from the bottom of Inga's second link. They clearly saved the best for last!
"In February 2018, Don Jr. traveled to India in an effort to sell more than $1 billion worth of luxury residential units built there by the Trump Organization and its partners. According to the New York Times, advertisements heralding Don Jr.’s visit read: “Trump has arrived. Have you?” Rajiv Bansa, a salesman at one of the properties, predicted that the younger Trump would have little trouble moving the inventory on his whirlwind tour of the region. “Everyone in India knows who the U.S. president is,” he told the Times. “It’s a status symbol. This is a big brand, the president of the United States’ name will be on it.”
When the Times asked the White House if Don Jr.’s sales visit presented “even an appearance of a conflict of interest,” the White House declined to comment."
Except you know what's missing from that entire little story?
Blogger Big Mike said... Chuck thinks bone spurs are funny. As someone who suffers from them off and on, I can affirm that they are seriously painful. I hope Chuck gets bone spurs himself and learns the hard way what heel pain is all about.
Your story of living with pain from bone spurs is such a moving story. The treatment must have been a trying experience. And memorable. Was surgery involved? You must feel extra sympatico with President Trump’s debilitating (at least, militarily) bone spurs. Does Trump recall his treatment? Or who treated him? For how long? With no surgical intervention? Any treatment at all? Does Trump remember if it was his left foot? Or right? Or both? Funny how such a thing — so traumatic for you, understandably — is something that we never, ever hear Trump talk about.
Inga, did the Trump kids & Ivana travel over in Air Force 1 when doing business with India & China? Do the Trump kids have track records of drug abuse and drying out under assumed names before they sit on the board of Ukranian oil oligarchs?
There are some key differences you seem to be missing. Even so, do you think Hunter and Joe Biden have anything to hide? Shouldn't they be delighted to get up on the stand and tell us all about it?
thanks pacwest for the kind words. And I think Qwinn has most of what I want to say in response. I think Schumer (et al) wants to argue that we need testimony, but we don't need testimony from the Bidens. What I see is that any testimony (starting with the legal experts) ineluctably leads to testimony from the Bidens. And (as far as I can see) we already have prima facie case justifying further investigation: US govt gave money (aid) to Ukraine govt; Ukraine govt gave money to Burisma; Burisma hired younger BIden for a do-nothing job. But to rebut anyone who says "Trump had no legitimate policy intent," that prima facie case needs to be put on the official record.
I also think it's hilarious that Inga's link screams corruption because Ivanaka managed to sell a property for 13% more than it sold last year. But Burisma paying Hunter Biden FOUR TIMES what a board member of Exxon gets paid wasn't even worth mentioning.
LLR-lefty Chuck: "Your story of living with pain from bone spurs is such a moving story. The treatment must have been a trying experience."
Nothing could ever be as moving as LLR-lefty Chuck's "War and Peace" length treatise on his tortured and anguished decision to not join the military with the infinite number of crucial nuances in play to which the unlucky reader must be exposed to appreciate the final decision reached when any normal person would simply have written: Why no, I did not serve.
Truly, a real LLR-lefty Chuck classic that one was!!
Admiral Inga: "Amazingly Trumpists don’t see anything odd about the business dealings of the Trump children based on their father’s presidency and his connections."
Inga thinks the Trump Organization didnt exist until January of 2017!!!
“Even so, do you think Hunter and Joe Biden have anything to hide? Shouldn't they be delighted to get up on the stand and tell us all about it?”
Yes, sure let the them testify. But it looks like no witnesses will be called at all if McConnell has his way. Even Trump isn’t pushing back against this anymore. Why? What are they trying to hide? Why block Bolton testimony?
Ivanka, Cum Laude graduate in Economics and long time Executive Vice President for Development and Acquisitions for the global Trump Organization in 2005 and successful serial entrepreneur of multiple businesses apparently did not achieve anything until DJT was elected President.
Thank you Inga and Chuck for your penetrating business analysis.
And Chuckie, it appears the combined "talent" of the entire deep state and your beloved lefty Lawfare crew is going the way of the Dodo bird.
Not to worry though. Its already clear the entire set of "secret" grand jury files are already in the possession of the DNC so Mueller's team of hatchetmen didnt leave Team Dem/LLR completely empty-handed.
Narayanan: "Cannot Bolton testify anyway? With or without Trump waiver of Executive privilege?"
Nope.
Thats why the dems yanked their lawsuit to try and compel Boltons assistant to testify because the dems/LLR's were about to lose that case and didnt want it as a precedent for the Senate trial.
Michael K: "This dumb fuck, never having been in the military, has no idea of what is and is not a disqualifying condition."
Interestingly enough both Chuck and Inga have attempted to trade off the alleged military experience of family members to lend weight to their vacuous military pronouncements.
It seems like only yesterday Inga was lecturing us over and over again on the supposedly critical nature of one easily reproduced systems exercise in South Korea.
You see, Inga is an Asia Theater military Cyber-security expert because her daughter is allegedly a medical corps Chief in the Middle East.
If you are confused as to how the latter makes Inga an expert on the former, well, welcome to the club.
Drago obsessively says... “Interestingly enough both Chuck and Inga...”
“In some cases, stimulant medications, such as Adderall, can exacerbate or cause symptoms of OCD. An OCD patient who is prescribed Adderall may experience serious problems and worsening OCD symptoms.”
Inga's article goes to great lengths to minimize and trivialize Ivanka's business accomplishments and career. They do everything but call her a bimbo.
I'm curious what woman on their side can boast anything like a similar resume.
At any rate, we can see just how partisan the "sisterhood" really is. Breaking glass ceilings is only an accomplishment if a liberal woman does it. If you're a conservative woman, prepare to be mocked and destroyed.
My liberal FB friends have the sadz. They are posting memes about adderall to cheer themselves up. It's been a rough week for them. They got their hopes up over W.W.III and are now reduced to blaming Iranian criminally incompetent air defense on Trump. Their heart just isn't in it though. And to top it off they get to stand by and watch Trump spike the ball on senate acquittal before the State of the Union address. Ooofda!
Here's what I know. This guy, Donald J Trump is the best President of my life. Normally I don't pay attention to these...what do we, a free people, call them? A President? Fine. He's a good one. Frickin' lawyers will masticate every frickin' thing. Here's the deal, you lawyers, step back...use some common sense. At least agree with me that Ann Althouse should not have worn a miniskirt in High School. Can we at least agree on that. Mockturtle?
Geez people, simmer down. Can we agree that Washington DC is a 24hr @ day cesspit of corruption. We don't want it to be, but they are us. Who among us could resist it. Human Nature. So...here's the deal...buy an AR, because it ALWAYS comes down to an AR. Then, admit that Ann Althouse should not have pushed the limits of propriety by wearing that short skirt in High School. DISCLOSURE...worked at the DOJ early '80s.
Has any mainstream media outlet published even a single original investigative story about Burisima, and what Hunter Biden was doing there to earn all the buckets of cash they were paying him? If so, I haven't seen it.
Hard to believe it's the same media that deployed HUNDREDS of pantie-sniffing reporters on Bristol Palin and Joe the Plumber. Headline news for weeks on end, remember that?
readering: "I would put it differently. Trump just says stuff. No sign of high IQ. Just impulse."
Let me suggest that the problem with your point is that IQ measures a certain thing, Q, which often measures something interesting. But there are a lot of different intelligences. My partner has a lightning fast mind, with a photographic memory. She easily got straight As in HS, and with her brother, were the state champion debaters in HS. I would bet though that I outscored her on IQ tests. What I do decently well at is pattern recognition and analysis. I also do well at spatial analysis. She literally can see many times as many colors as I can, can instantly recognize hue, tone, etc. She can’t understand why I don’t remember things (I tell her because she has enough memory for both of us). But then she is disinterested in SpyGate, the mechanics of the fauxpeachment, etc. I met a woman online maybe a decade ago discussing autism and ASDs. She had apparently been in the top 10% of her class at HLS, but couldn’t pass the bar. It worked out though because her husband did pass, sat first chair, and they had a great litigation practice. Whatever case they tried, she always knew all of the relevant law, cold, better than anyone else in the courtroom. Is she smart? Or an idiot because she couldn’t pass the bar. My partner’s best friend (a lawyer) has for almost 40 years told her that she should have become a lawyer. She probably could have been successful in court, but I doubt that she would have done well on the tests. Probably much better in Medical school. I expect that I would have flunked out of med school, due to my inability to memorize.
My point here is that Trump’s Intelligence is probably hard to measure. He is accomplishing more, and more good things, than any of his recent predecessors. He has a genius for seeing and exploiting weaknesses in his enemies that may be unparalleled. Of course, coming after President Mediocre, Barack Obama, who was only apparently good at engendering government corruption, is a pretty low hurdle. He has given us amazing economic performance. There is now a new world order, with North Korea coming out of the cold, Russia diminished, China stalemated, Saudi Arabia allying with Israel on security, and now Iran isolated, with a collapsing economy and restive population. And their ability to ferment terrorism and jihad throughout the Middle East was significantly crippled by his taking out the Quds commander. It was done masterfully, on Iraqi soil, with 2 AUMFs in place providing legal cover, and ended up with no collateral damage to US interests, and Iran taking a hit internationally, having shot down the Ukrainian 737, through what appears to have been gross incompetence. All in the face of unrelenting attacks by the Deep State, Democrats, and the MSM.
Trump’s public performances are epic. He is a better standup comic than most professional comics. He assigns nicknames to people that stick. Crooked Hillary may be angling to run again, getting the nomination from a brokered convention. But that isn’t going anywhere because of that nickname. Crazy Bernie. Pocohauntis. SLO Joe, Pencil Neck, Etc. Or his famous comedy routines, like playing both parts, of Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, with heaving breathing, etc, hot and heavy, reciting segments of their infamous text messages. He senses weaknesses, and jumps in to exploit them.
Is he stupid? I don’t think so. I think there is some genius involved in his seeing how to approach North Korea, China, Europe, and now, very visibly, Iran. Everyone who was anyone knew that he would fail, at each step along the way. And, yet, he saw the vulnerability, that made success possible, if not likely, then jumped in and exploited it, without the months of study that his predecessors would have required.
The bar exam tests things not taught in law school. She maybe lacked curiosity.

Slow Joe should make Hunter his running mate. After all, he was a Naval Officer and went to Yale Law school!
But, for some reason he makes his money not serving in the military and not practicing law. Why is that?
I really REALLY hope he means it that Hunter will be called as a witness.
Exposing the Democrat corrupt kickback and money laundering via foreign aid racket is paramount. Utterly crucial. That it will completely undermine the impeachment is just a bonus, not even the main motivator.
Hunter and Chelsea. It pays to be the child of a D.
Trump will mock Hunter hilariously, as long as Joe still is a candidate.
Trump will never let anyone forget the corruption of his opponents. He'll mock and nicknamify them over and over again. He's the pesky stopper on the memory hole that so much deep state detritus usually quietly slips down.
Ol’ Bone Spurs has a way with naming his enemies.

An interesting article on Nancy's plan for impeachment.
It was John Dean's idea !
I look forward to Wapo counting this as a lie.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer FakeCon.
Who's on first?

Hunter certainly knows how to get the chicks. His sister-in-law, an Arkansas stripper, and a South African therapist.
What's he got that we don't have?!
This just in from Ace of Spades HQ:
Former National Security Council Staffer Mike Doran: I Know, For a Fact, That Members of the Obama Administration Sent Personal Letters to Iran's Terror Chief Qassem Suleimani
Well well well.
Maybe we should have a look at those letters, eh dems/LLR's?
"Ol' Bone Spurs"
My god that's awesome. Right up there with Rooster Cogburn or 'The Gipper'. He should own this and use it. Cowboy hat, chaps, riding atop his Appaloosa Pony-Pelosi with Spotted-Grey-Schumer in reserve as he digs in his heels and gallops off into the sunset and another 4 year term.

Burisma.
Where's Hunter? It's the adult version of Where's Waldo and way more fun.

Unctuous -- Strzok
Sleazy -- tie Schiff and Biden
Both sleazy but in completely different ways.
@Phil

More of your insane, distracting, boring, obsessive fantasizing about me. Why Althouse allows it is such a mystery to me.
Well Chuck, she doesn't "allow" you, but yet here you are. More's the pity.
John Dean, huh? Wasn't he the original LLR? Back stabber would be a better definition of the skunk.
@Phil
"But it takes a complete lack of conscience to bang your late brother's widow."

She's a grown woman Phil. It takes two to tango.
Nice to have, ahem, friends in high places.....
Might be time for Althouse to institute draconian moderation for a while to put a crimp in the Chuck & Drago show.
"with desirable skills"
I have yet to hear of any single such skill possessed by Hunter Biden, aside from banging widows and strippers and doing coke. That's the whole basis for Trump wanting him investigated. His only "desirable skill" is getting his father to pull corrupt strings.

(b) Peter Strzok; or

Hunter, Gatherer.
So, where has Hunter been stashing the loot?

Either Russia or Iran. Ukraine got too hot for him there.

Like Ben Carson.
That was a choice by Trump that Chuck ridiculed. By his own admission.
See what I mean? Every defense LLR-lefty Chuck offers for his behavior only serve to indict him further.
Unexpectedly.

LLR-lefty Chuck has recently linked to Andy McCarthy stories from 2016 and about a half dozen other commenters who long ago came around on Trump to acceptance and in some cases open support.

Her "I wonder who he will be voting for this year"
Me "I wonder how many times he will be voting this year"
"What my democrat friends hate the most about me bringing up Hunter (and why Trump does it too) is because the stench of corruption is easy enough for a small child to understand."
If Biden wins in 2020, maybe Commander Hunter can become head of the Space Force.

Funny all the flack Hunter Biden is catching when you look at what happened to Onan for not impregnating his dead brother's wife.
I would put it differently. Trump just says stuff. No sign of high IQ. Just impulse.

Now I'm not comparing Trump to a dog---but a good part of his appeal to we deplorables out here is that the Trumpster tells it like it is, and shows a sense of humor in doing it.
The audience knows it, and appreciates it.

Where's Hunter? He's Biden his time over in China with Wu, hoping his dad can get him a brand new bag.

Good comment, I wish you would show up here more often.
Do you need to prove the Bidens were on the take first?
readering: "I would put it differently. Trump just says stuff. No sign of high IQ. Just impulse."
I would definitely turn to readering for deep understanding of IQ and how it is manifested in others. He/she/xe sounds quite knowledgeable......

Amazingly Trumpists don’t see anything odd about the business dealings of the Trump children based on their father’s presidency and his connections. How about all those trademark approvals Ivanka received from China?

Ingmar Guandique, an illegal alien, murdered her.
Poor Inga: she apparently thinks running international businesses successfully over the years in a legal fashion is just the same as having your VP father plonking you down into high-paying sinecure jobs at foreign entities, w/o a scintilla of skills or track record on your part.
Yeah, Inga...it's just the same.

Even an appearance of a conflict of interest.
This makes me uncomfortable.

That article is fucking laughable, Inga.

Yes, sure let the them testify. But it looks like no witnesses will be called at all if McConnell has his way. Even Trump isn’t pushing back against this anymore. Why? What are they trying to hide? Why block Bolton testimony?

#TotalTrumpExoneration on the way.

IO examined recruits for ten years. Chuck is a dipshit.
Bolton is the briar patch that Trump would love to see Democrats trot out.
In the end, no difference.
Michael K: "This dumb fuck, never having been in the military, has no idea of what is and is not a disqualifying condition."
Interestingly enough both Chuck and Inga have attempted to trade off the alleged military experience of family members to lend weight to their vacuous military pronouncements.
We call that "wearing someone else's rank".

Inga believes random cut and pastes will lend credibility to her moronic military pronouncements.
Spoiler: They wont
My liberal FB friends have the sadz. They are posting memes about adderall to cheer themselves up. It's been a rough week for them. They got their hopes up over W.W.III and are now reduced to blaming Iranian criminally incompetent air defense on Trump. Their heart just isn't in it though. Frickin' lawyers will masticate every frickin' thing. Here's the deal, you lawyers, step back...use some common sense. At least agree with me that Ann Althouse should not have worn a miniskirt in High School. Can we at least agree on that. Mockturtle?
Desperately Seeking Hunter
Pete Buttigieg has announced he is wearing shorts at the next debate. Your move, Joe.
“Hello, Cleveland!”
(Toledo is the Rodney Dangerfield of American cities.)
Trump is a genius, a bona fide genius.
The bar exam tests things not taught in law school. She maybe lacked curiosity.
there's stil the ironclad, admitted, videotaped fact that his father shut down a prosecutor investigating the company.
That's not what Biden says on the videotape. He doesn't say Viktor shokin was investigating the company nor is it likely he was.
Not that what he says is true. The whole story of how he got the prosecutor fired is probably untrue.
