So. Watched The End of The Good Place.

And, yep, just like I suspected/feared when last we discussed this -- they ruined it. Not merely the ending, but the entire series is tainted.

They took what was an interesting concept and utterly ruined it with their despairing materialistic nihilism. If that's the way they were going to end it, what was the point of stopping the judge from erasing the universe?? Same result.

Does Hollywood always have to end up shitting in people's mouths? Can't they do anything good anymore?

Mark म्हणाले...

I said last week, "Then again, the show did hint at the right answer. And the characters have even recognized and voiced what that answer is in this latest episode and past episodes."

The right answer was love. But these atheistic progressive Hollywooders had to go and eff that up too.

This is why we can't have nice things.

How do you respond when placard-waving students occupy your 15th-century quadrangle and refuse to leave until you sell the college’s shares in oil companies? (snip) They say that the college, the richest in Oxford, has £8 million of its £551 million endowment fund invested in BP and Shell. Professor Parker responded with a provocative offer. “I am not able to arrange any divestment at short notice,” he wrote. “But I can arrange for the gas central heating in college to be switched off."

The Dems' desperate need to eliminate Trump is not explainable by American politics. And it is not explainable by their habitual ways of raking in corrupt cash kickbacks from foreign aid. It arises from Trump's unreserved support for the Jewish Homeland of Israel. Political bragging rights and cash money are big motives but they are only temporary. The Eternal win or loss is the Jewish Nation being at peace in Jerusalem. And the stable genius figured that out.

I've long believed it was his threat to drain the swamp and expose the very depth of the Deep State. He hasn't yet scratched the surface, if a swamp surface can be scratched, but it seems apparent thus far the the FBI, CIA and the Pentagon [military-industrial complex] are all controlled by globalist interests, to which the Democrats and Neocons are wholly devoted.

Looking at the corona virus figures and they are wild. Eleven days ago there were 279 cases in Mainland China and now there are 11, 221. I really hope that this represents China acknowledging cases they knew about but were hiding so that this increase isn't the actual rate of spread but is, instead, a cover-up ending and statistics quickly being brought into line with reality.

I'm still trying to process my grief over the passing of Monique Van Vooren. This impeachment nonsense completely overshadowed the news of her death. Attention was not paid, but her life and career offer many edifying lessons on the vicissitudes of fate. In her life, she was completely overshadowed by Mamie Van Doren and, as it stands now, Mamie is destined for more lasting fame. Monique's best known film "Tarzan and the She Devil" was a fine showcase for her talents, but perhaps it was too subtle for those who preferred the broader strokes of Mamie Van Doren in "Sex Kittens Go to College". In any event, Mamie lives on literally and figuratively as a cult favorite whilst Monique is laid to rest and oblivion. No TMC week for you Monique....Well, on the plus side, she lived to be 92 and had only one, successful marriage. Mamie has had five marriages so, perhaps in that area of human endeavor, Monique may be counted as the greater success. It is interesting to note that both of these B bombshells lived longer and happier lives than their A list contemporaries, Jayne Mansfield and Marilyn Monroe. Such are the uses of adversity. Neither Monique nor Mamie lost their balance and fell while reaching for things beyond their limits.

New coronavirus spreads as readily as 1918 Spanish flu - Los Angeles Times

However:

"...Yet, despite the numbers and alarm, the virus pales in comparison to the impact of the ebola virus — and even more so — influenza.

The latter killed more than 61,000 people in the U.S. alone during the 2017-18 season according to CDC estimates. And since the beginning of the current flu season on Oct. 1, there have been more than 8,200 deaths so far.

The influenza virus was also the cause of the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, which was responsible for the deaths of 50 to 100 million people — the worst in recorded history."

You read about deaths either being associated with old age or health problems.

Deaths from flu in the United States seem to be widely associated with lung issues (Asthma, COPD).

One (potentially /probably) useful intervention is the amino acid n-acetylcysteine:

Deficient synthesis of glutathione underlies oxidative stress in aging and can be corrected by dietary cysteine and glycine supplementation.

CONCLUSIONS:
Glutathione deficiency in elderly humans occurs because of a marked reduction in synthesis. Dietary supplementation with the glutathione precursors cysteine and glycine fully restores glutathione synthesis and concentrations and lowers levels of oxidative stress and oxidant damages. These findings suggest a practical and effective approach to decreasing oxidative stress in aging.

Tales of the Early 20th Century!
In 1917 my grandmother became engaged to my grandfather. He was a non-com at Fort Snelling, Minnesota (he took care of officers' horses, that is, he was a groom, which was a step up from a mule skinner), and she was a nurse at the military hospital at Fort Snelling.
Grandpa got his orders and was sent to the East Coast to await boarding a transport to Europe to fight the Huns.
Grandpa was gone a long time, in New Jersey, without ever shipping out -- getting US troops to Europe was a clusterfarg.
While Grandpa was gone, Grandma married a Swede name Peterson. A few months later, Peterson died of the Spanish Flu. When Grandpa returned to Fort Snelling in 1918, w/o ever going over to Europe, she married him. She never told him about this Peterson fellow she had been married to for a short period of time.
Then grandpa got the bill for Peterson's burial.
He broke so many of my grandmother's ribs that she was in the hospital for days.

How The HELL is this Legal?
Shouldn't the DNC have to be listing CNN as a paid contributor?
CAN governments LEGALLY support one party?
How are CNN screens NOT party advertisements?
How can governments OPENLY require the posting of party advertisements?

I'm not thinking that anything can be done about this; what with the fact that the DNC IS the government
But do they Have To be SO OPEN about it?

HHS - and plenty of others - say(s) CDC lies about flu deaths:

"US data on influenza deaths are false and misleading. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) acknowledges a difference between flu death and flu associated death yet uses the terms interchangeably. Additionally, there are significant statistical incompatibilities between official estimates and national vital statistics data. Compounding these problems is a marketing of fear—a CDC communications strategy in which medical experts "predict dire outcomes" during flu seasons.

...

Meanwhile, according to the CDC's National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), "influenza and pneumonia" took 62 034 lives in 2001— 61,777 of which were attributed to pneumonia and 257 to flu, and in only 18 cases was flu virus positively identified.

Between 1979 and 2002, NCHS data show an average 1348 flu deaths per year (range 257 to 3006).

A Hidden Life was here in Eugene through a couple of days ago. Wonderful, beautiful film but Malick might've edited 30 or 40 minutes from it and it'd've been better; not Malick, however, I suppose. One of the reviewers I read suggested that it's more Malick 'doing Bergman' (something like that) than evoking some Catholic sensibility: watching with eyes already familiar with the story of Blessed Franz Jägerstätter et al, I didn't get the sense that Malick (like Scorsese in Silence) is telling us that apostasy is more civilized and humane than martyrdom but I can see how critics got there. First movie I've seen in a theatre in ages and am glad of the experience, in any event.

If you want to get scared: Coronavirus Contains "HIV Insertions", Stoking Fears Over Artificially Created Bioweapon

An Indian research team has identified four genetic insertions in the 2019-nCoV that are not present in any other Coronaviruses, including its closest relatives, and esp the bat Coronavirus it came from. What was surprising though is these new genetic insertions are found in the HIV-1 family. One insertion might be possible from someone with both viruses, but four is highly improbable. Making it even more suspicious, the Chinese have their Institute of Virology in Wuhan. If the Chinese were actually engaging in weaponizing genetic engineering, this would be one of the most likely places for it to be happening. Also interesting is that the virus apparently spreads much faster elsewhere in China, and even faster outside China. This would seem counter to normal viral mutations.

I should add that this article was published in ZeroHedge, that was just banned by Twitter.
