At the Tuesday Night Café... [CORRECTION: It was Monday.]
... you can talk all you want.
And please consider using the Althouse Portal to Amazon. I wasn't kidding about the microwaveable slippers. They really are a solution if you or your loved one has the kind of feet that won't warm up.

WaPoo has a piece today about Barr and the FBI but I don't want to subscribe to read it.
I never get tired of watching the Trans-Siberian Express and “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve.”
Keep the ankles warm to keep the feet warm. That's where blood flow is decided.
Its devlin barrett, strzoks preferred source than muellers.
I mentioned guy ritchies rather faithful revamp of man from uncle with henry cavill and arnie hammer.

I'll be interested in Ann's take on the House trotting out law professors to explain to us the law of impeachment.
BTW where were those law professors when Comey came up with a new definition of intent?
While I will continue to use the Althouse ANXN portal, I.must report the following. I’ve reviewed 31 books over about 20 years. All of my reviews have been deleted and I am permanently banned for writing further book reviews.
What was my capital thought crime?
For two global warming doomsday books for which I heard the authors speak, I offered the satiric solution to bomb to bits coal-fired power plants in China and India. I freely admit to have stolen this idea from my friend John Hinderaker at Power Line. I suspect some Leftists complained and my skeptical satire resulted in my ostracism and banning.
I find this to be astounding that an American company would ban an American citizen for expressing an unpopular and conservative opinion.
Considering that AMZN is in the free speech business and sells satire books, my banning is epic hypocrisy.
Barr is the most eloquent attorney general since Robert Jackson, you heard it here first

The only thing Warren gets right is she wants to break up these companies. A winning issue for Trump if he takes it up.

Still Monday night here.
Enjoy the latest Democratic Presidential Clown Car Update, where I noted both the Sestak and bullock departures.

In retirement, it can be a challenge to remember which day of the week it is. Routines help, like Mass on Sundays, laundry on Monday...

Svetlana Lokhova On Stefan Halper's Spying
Svetlana Lokhova, the Russian born Cambridge historian who was smeared by the very creepy Stefan Halper with regard to Michael Flynn, has two Twitter threads up that provide extensive detail that strongly indicates that Halper was feeding "information" to Steele. Lokhova also illustrates that Halper's reporting was essentially laundered through Steele, almost certainly to make it appear that information was being provided by the former MI6 officer rather than by a CIA/FBI asset who was targeting the Trump campaign and Trump associates before the Crossfire Hurricane investigation was opened. I want to highlight just a few of Lokhova's points from her detail rich threads.
Its a lee smith thread reflecting on what lokhova told him.

2) He pointed out that "Source B" in the first dossier memo is "almost surely supposed to be Trubnikov" - in the sense that the planted breadcrumbs point to/frame Trubnikov, not that Trubnikov was the actual source.
Trump is a Schrodinger's president.
3/
@LeeSmithDC
also identifies Halper as the proximate source for several key Steele allegations, but, instead of viewing Halper as a superspy, he described Halper as a "dirty tricks operative" and "con man" - terms with which
@RealSLokhova
would agree.
Windy, isn't it.
It's not wednesday, it's tuesday.
I'm tuesday too, let's have a drink.
A fmr?? Deputy svr head confides in a legacy bureaucrat because hes concerned about america, shirley
Now it raises the question, who is halper really working for?
In this it reaembles the debacle with cyrveveball rafi alwan, some people heard what he had told the bnd it leaked to various agencies, the ones that recruited hi. Had blocked access, they subsequently told blumental and robert drogin
The WH looks beautiful for Christmas.
Curveball yes it does and the First ladt rughtly deserves credit, of course a cnn hack thinks otherwise. Not learning what happened to julia ioffe and nina burleigh.
I just asked my wife: "How would you like some microwavable slippers?"
She said: "No. I wouldn't want anything that's been on the floor in the microwave."
I like the idea of microwaveable slippers. You could even multitask by pouring in some chicken noodle soup...

@chickelit,
I guess the microwavable toilet seat warmer is out, too...
Here's another microwave story. The night that our second child was born, we headed into the hospital when her water broke. She opted to have no med childbirth (as she did for our first -- and it does have its advantages). Anyways, the nurses were so pissed off that she wouldn't have an epidural that they would not allow her to heat her own heating pad in the microwave. So I left and drive a couple miles to my place of work and used our microwave to heat it. This was 3 AM or so and people were still working, running experiments. I waved, nuked the pad, and then headed back. Well, you know how labor can be. She gave birth a couple hours later. And she left as soon as she could.
The Conservative Treehouse has an excellent take on the WaPo narrative doctoring.
December 6 is gonna be a big day in world history, lots of people are going to be praying for the right thing at the right time.
Saint Michael the Archangel, December 6, 2019, maybe you heard it here first.

Google December 6 Day of Prayer. Google is good for something, after all.
We were ranked number 3 highest price real estate market behind San Fran and nyc. Sigh. Where does your fab city rank? Has your home price gone up 3 times the original cost in 10 years? Mine has. It pays off to live in deep blue city.
I continue to be bemused with this Brit obsession with 'cholorinated chicken':
Just one rogue tweet mentioning chlorinated chicken or NHS contracts could upend the PM's plans
It is the last thing Boris Johnson needs. Ten days out from a general election, with the polls narrowing and a serious terrorist incident to deal with, tonight the political tornado that is Donald Trump will barrel into town for Tuesday’s Nato Summit.
The don't seem to realize Americans have no idea what 'cholrinated chicken' is. (I'm not a subscriber, so I can't say how reasonable, if at all, the rest of the article is.
Though they, at least, can spell chlorinated :-(
Titus: "Where does your fab city rank? Has your home price gone up 3 times the original cost in 10 years? Mine has. It pays off to live in deep blue city."
Thank you Titus for helping to show the Climate Change fearmongering claims are a total scam.
Again, many thanks.

Barr disputes key inspector general finding about FBI’s Russia investigation
I suspect that is the whitewash part.
The blue sky has promising hours of light before the end of the day. The blue hills across a sliver of silver lake with a city in orange flames tells me that rush hour traffic in the dark and cold is about to end that promise.
I would call the photo, "Amber Waves of Weeds."
Horowitz's purview was the FISA application on Carter Page. All Horowitz can do is interview the people who still work at the FBI/DoJ- he has no ability to compel testimony from anyone else. Most of the principals quit or were fired, and so weren't interviewed. The FBI still maintains that the Steele Dossier was proper evidence for getting the warrant on Page, and Horowitz is in no position to prove otherwise- all Horowitz can do is see if they followed their own regulations, and I am quite sure they did so to a tee. Horowitz would never be able to prove that the principals knew the Steele Dossier was bullshit. To get to the bottom of this requires a grand jury and subpoena power- that is where Barr and Durham are working. In a disagreement between Barr and Horowitz, you go with Barr who is in a much better position to find the evidence.
For the second night in a row the cafe has reminded me of an excerpt from a letter written to my great grandmother in 1926 by her sister-in-law (my second great aunt).
[E]xcuse pencil as I’m sitting here with my feet in the oven. Joe said when he left for work this p.m. to build a fire in the grate when you finish your work I haven’t done so
So three cheers for the fact that we get to enjoy microwaveable feet warmers.

Mike Bloomberg surges past Kamala Harris in Democratic primary poll
https://nypost.com/2019/12/03/mike-bloomberg-surges-past-kamala-harris-in-democratic-primary-poll/
Starting from 0% Bloomberg is now up to 6%, Harris down to 2%.
Just one poll, of course.
Microwave slippers won't get me out the door
They're way too big and boxy
And the cord I can't ignore
Tried the slow cooker and the toaster too
And though my feet were very warm
My toes were turned to stew.

I Wore An Onion On My Belt, Because That Was The Style At The Time
I used microwavable heating pads, (bean bags essentially), with great effect, years ago. A quick warmup could be the ticket. Anyone who eats fast food shouldn't fear nuking their "booties".
Starting from 0% Bloomberg is now up to 6%
That kind of success earns you a Trump moniker:

Beautiful photo. I don't tire of seeing them. Each is beautiful in its own way. Some are more interesting than others.
Learned through Linkedin that a former work colleague passed away somewhat suddenly a week ago. He was a couple years younger than me. This is the fourth person my age or younger to die in the last 18 months. At 62 I'm back to thinking about retirement to a less demanding job. Feels like I'm wasting what time I have left on work.
Still snowing here northeast of Boston. Got to get out and clean off the walkways and the little bit of the driveway that the plow guy can't get. The most difficult part is the snow I rake off the roof around the skylights, when it falls onto the driveway and packs down and requires a little extra effort to shovel.
