"Searching a room for Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at last month's G7 summit in France... President Trump called out: 'Where’s my favorite dictator?'"
"Sisi really is a dictator, and he really is closely allied with the Trump administration...." Axios explains.

Of course, no American POTUS has ever partnered with a foreign dictator before. Never!
Trump obviously does not know what he is doing.
Henry Kissinger called it "Realpolitik." Democrats want to live in an unreal world. The rest of us accommodate ourselves to reality as best we can.
This popped up on my news feed this morning. That Trump is a barrel of laughs. al-Sisi thought it was great. Remember when W gave Merkel an unconsented-to back rub? Hilarious!
The rest of those G-7 people are such drips.
If you push anything hard enough, it will fall over.
Hey, I thought Kim was his favorite! I'll be he says that to all the dictators.
I laughed. Trump says it like it is. Sisi's a dictator. Don't let him claim to be a president.
Irony is lost on the Left. What is Trump saying other than that we are allied with Egypt for reasons of state, but we are none the less aware that he is a dictator? Better to make the point with levity than hostility.
al-Sisi *is* a dictator. For example, he ruthlessly uses his dictatorial powers to prevent Muslims from completely wiping out the Coptic Christian population.
This is why the Left hates him.
Pharaohs are Pharaohs. This one has sense enough to govern the Egyptians by incorporating the Ethnic Coptics and not go full Muslim Retard.
This happened 2 months ago and we are hearing of it today?
Sounds like a made up story to me.
Just another day ending in Y.
Video with audio or it didn't happen.
John Henry
Ergo, Trump is a dictator because he won the Electoral College and the other two branches of government slavishly obey him.
Remember when the Obama administration thought it was a good idea to help put the Muslim Brotherhood in charge of Egypt?
Ooooooh, a DICTATOR!
Different from a Maduro, a Castro, or any other leftist, right, and therefore AS BAD AS ORANGE MAN!
These Clymers don't know what it is to get a good Fisking, is all I'm saying.
What he lacks in tact he more than makes up for in humor.
Why is this news? Supporting authoritarian forces on the premise that they will keep a lid on democratic/populist forces has been part and parcel of our foreign policy for decades.
"President Obama spoke with Egyptian President Abdelfattah al-Sisi today regarding the U.S.-Egyptian military assistance relationship and regional developments, including in Libya and Yemen. President Obama informed President al-Sisi that he will lift executive holds that have been in place since October 2013 on the delivery of F-16 aircraft, Harpoon missiles, and M1A1 tank kits. The President also advised President al-Sisi that he will continue to request an annual $1.3 billion in military assistance for Egypt."
-Readout of the President’s Call with President al-Sisi of Egypt
Just for everyone else's information President Trump doing deals with Dictators is not the first U.S. President to do so. Every President since George Washington through Donald Trump has needed to do deals with Dictators. As of 2018, there are 50 Dictatorships around the World, so if Trump or any other President did not deal, well nothing would be done. Of course we live in a World where the MSM controls the narrative. Let's see how many dictators did President Obama deal with. Wait, did he not bow in front of the Saudis, another dictatorship. Give the Mullahs in Iran billions in cash? LOL! Just another juvenile attempt by the MSM which backfires every day.
Gosh I hope Kim Jong Un wasn’t there and/or he has a thick skin.
More fake news.
Everybody knows that Putin is his favorite dictator.
The continual complaint from the left that Trump is 'in love with dictators' is just another smear designed to damn by association. Dictators and quasi-dictators are most often viewed by the people they govern not as "dictators" per se but as strong rulers, men-of-the-people. If you want to do business and move geo-political ambitions forward any American administration worth its salt has to work with states that might not be in sync with U.S. values.
Given the wild excesses of the left when it came to Russian collusion claims (much quieter about it now) it was no surprise that Trump was viewed as being "in bed with Putin" etc. Much of the incoming fire Trump attracts is because of his style and personality. His reference to Fattah el-Sisi as "my favorite dictator" being a case in point. He loves to bait the bear. Orange considerations aside... he's a colorful guy. But the liberal media is so deathly serious these days, off-the-cuff humor from the mouth of Trump will almost certainly be mined for something much more sinister.
Outstanding!
There will never be another Trump.
Im sure Trump just wanted to find al-Sisi to tell him that he, Trump, would have more flexibly after the election.
well its the authoritarian formula, as Jeanne Kirkpatrick, taken to an extreme, sisi was previously head of military intel, is that from wallaby jonathan swan,
This reminds me of him joking about Modi speaking English very well. He has good judgment as to when foreign leaders will find his sense of humor disarming. Think too of him opening dialogue with Kim by crapping on him with playground insults; Trump understood how Kim would react
Rowan farrow and everyone else who sups on Qatar's spoon, is very cross about this, Mad Dog Mattis was very cross with Obama, for 'throwing Mubarak under the bus' in favor of Morsi, which led is small part to Benghazi, with the previous release of abu jamal, who participated in said event,
Not since Schultz penned Lucy and the football has there been a more gullible entity than the media...watching Trump troll them is very entertaining.
That explains the photo of a sad-looking Merkel I saw. It had a caption about finding out she's not Trump's favorite dictator.
of course we have the Egyptian military and security services (the latter were devised by former band player miles Copeland, and ad exec Eichelberger) for Nasser, but the likes of otto skorzeny's crew, and Russian gru helped train them, vs. the Egyptian branch of the Ilkwan, Beit al Ansar if memory serves,
some manifestations of islamist and nationalist sentiments seen here:
https://apelbaum.wordpress.com/2019/09/03/toxic-masculinity-my-foot/#comments
It was one of those things we call a "joke".
You wouldn't understand.
It's only bad when Trump does it. If a D does it, it's all good.
Dictators don’t like being called “dictator.” Trump is putting him in his place.
Mad Dog Mattis was very cross with Obama, for 'throwing Mubarak under the bus' in favor of Morsi,
I'm just getting to the part in "Bad Blood" where Mad Dog bought the Theranos story hook, line and sinker, plus the rod and reel.
Governing Cairo alone is as hard a political job as exists on earth. A military strong man for life is the original tradition for that role. Our tradition started with the day that Washington abdicatied his military monarchy.
Narciso: a Skorzeny reference! I loved Terry Gross’s interview of Larry Gelbart when he said Sid Caesar used to carry around a Webley revolver because he thought Skorzeny was coming to kill him.
If sisi wasnt in the room, how could trump have beem addressing him, fake news,

I'm about an hour into a 3 hour of penn jillete by joe rogan. About a month ago
Penn was on The Apprentice so they spent time talking about what Trump is really like. Penn seems to like president trump and admires him for many qualities. Doesn't seem to like him much as a person though.
One of the things penn said is that he doesn't think has any humor in him. Never heard him laugh a genuine laugh or tell a joke.
He can fake a laugh or fake a joke but can't do it for real. A bit hard for me to believe but penn seems to know humor and spent 3-4 hours a week with him for 3 months.
Pen and Joe both seem convinced trump has been on speed, amphetamines, Adderall since the 80. It's the only way they can explain his energy. I don't buy that and am not sure they were serious.
Great interview if you are a Penn fan as i am
John Henry
Well thats interesting:

I dont see why, skorzeny had bigger fiah to try, he was major hessler in bulge, he lived in madrid traveled to buenos aires and cairo, trained the ira and the plo along with being a mossad asset
And he was a big guy likr ralf moller in gladiator, maximus fellow warrior.
@Michael K:
I'm just getting to the part in "Bad Blood" where Mad Dog bought the Theranos story hook, line and sinker, plus the rod and reel.
It's still on my to-read list. How is it? I've heard nothing but good things. I remember reading some things on Theranos (can't recall where) even before Carreyrou's first article dropped. I followed the case pretty closely and curious how much Carreyrou explores the "women in tech" angle. Ellen Pao's sex discrimination lawsuit had been in the news, and we were constantly hearing about how few women there were in tech or at Silicon Valley VC firms. Like Tom Wolfe's "great white defendant," I'm curious how much the financial press was desperate for the "great female entrepreneur."
Thats really weird suspicion on his part, ons didnt really hear of him in conjunction with the eagle has landed.
@John Henry:
Great interview if you are a Penn fan as i am
I am also, and I really enjoyed the discussion. Trump not having a sense of humor seemed off to me. It was actually his later remark about people who didn't like music that sounded like a description of Trump. He certainly has a very bizarre personality.
The movie / documentary on Theranos was excellent.
Vc’s were looking for the next female Steve Jobs...
Hessler was Pieper, and Sid Caesar was paranoid.
Probably, it makes you sonder why they used neither name in the film.
He’s just trying to make Vlad jealous.
we were constantly hearing about how few women there were in tech or at Silicon Valley VC firms.
That is a point made in the book. She adopted Steve Jobs' dressing style and often referred to him as "Steve " though she had never met him. My daughter interviewed about 6 times for a job in Apple design group. Eventually, they told her they were going to promote rather than hire. I was relieved as she was worrying about where she would live.
Since then,. she has married and has a baby.
The book is terrific. We are listening to the audio book and my wife borrowed a copy from my son as she didn't want to wait while we are not driving. The book reminds me a lot of "Science Fictions" a book about the discovery of the HIV virus. It is also about science misbehavior.
Craig Venter's book about the Genome Project is also good and similar.
That mexican author volpi does go into the history of gene sequencing for season of ash. Through a minor character,
Its hirrible someone can behave like dr gallo in the middle of an epidemic.
Do you really want to believe these fly-on-the-wall stories?
These is news for people that can’t think for themselves.
Mary Beth,
Someone could do a Downfall parody of this.
Thats i referenced real facts, now the story had a clearly qatari turkish or iranian stamp.
Speaking of AIDS why do we never hear of this? Is it because pdjt was involved?
200.000 treatmentsts of an expensive and effective AIDS drug is a big deal.
Doing it every year is an even bigger deal.
Scott Adams said that "pdjt and Gilead have cured Aids."
Yet crickets.

Skorzeny features prominently in Joh Birmingham’s alt-history Axis of Time trilogy—highly recommend.
Sounds like the kind of thing FDR might have said, referring to Stalin; or Jimmy Carter, referring to almost any dictator. But that was different, because shut up.
