Why aren't the Democrats all ashamed that they didn't take the knee? If taking the knee is appropriate now, why wasn't it then?

I can't imagine the Squad ever doing that.

A song written by a Russian Jew, no less, popularized by a fat southern white woman who has been memory-holed in Philadelphia. It's problematic.

yep... it still comes off as FAKE.

Like I said earlier, I was really rather pissed off at that pathetic display by a feckless Congress. We get hit with the greatest attack against our nation in a single day and that's your effing response???

If it weren't for George W., that's about all the U.S. would have done about it.

They could get together and play sofball.... But some liberal shot up the Republicans while they were practicing.

Ray Charles America the Beautiful played on radio all day in SF bay area.

Couple of young Mexican guys on the job quit to enlist in the military and get revenge. Not sure if they did but haven't seen them since.

I'll bet that Osama and KSM got a good laugh at that.

I haven't seen this much emotional patriotism on Capital Hill since the Netanyahu visit.

At least member of the Squad seen singing God Bless America with Congress today.

And on 9-12 they'll be back to supporting open borders, out-sourcing, H-1B visas for 500,000 Indians, unlimited immigration, and welfare and votes for illegal aliens. Not to mention trade deals that favor other countries.

But today - today - they love America.

rcocean म्हणाले...

Today, to commentate 9-11, Robert O'Dork has promised to sing the Mexican National Anthem. Bernie will sing the Internationale. Warren will chant a Navajo death song.

gspencer म्हणाले...

Don't be fooled, all the Democrats were singing We Hate the USA.

Take a listen,

Was that old Coach Hastert? I remember thinking when I first saw him . . . that he looked like what he turned out to be. Pervy McPerverson.

Narr
And crooked too

Big Mike म्हणाले...

The Democrats, of course, didn’t mean it.

Clyde म्हणाले...

That brief moment of unity didn't last long. It wasn't long until the CNN types and their Democrat friends were saying, "Ask yourself why they hate you." And at that point, I was quit with CNN and Democrats for good.

Ann, as can be seen by the comments, what a right wing cesspool you have cultivated on your blog.

I would say anti Uniparty.

Anti Uniparty is not necessary right wing.

I can understand the cynicism, where promises are made, actions are made to get elected, the term for Republican's is RINO. Cuck is another term. They don't walk the talk. All smoke, no action.

Which is why you got Trump. And I would not classify Trump as right wing. It would be a good blog topic to discuss what is Right Wing. Is it the Boogyman? Does Rand Paul count? Trump? Is the right ring different than Conservative? Religious?

I am amazed at how disciplined the Democratic party representatives are. Amazing feat by Pelosi.

As Lazarus Long (a.k.a. Robert A. Heinlein) put it in Methuselah's Children:

Unanimously? Shucks, you couldn't get that many to whistle ‘Yankee Doodle’ unanimously.”

rhhardin म्हणाले...

It's not that congress is stupid; it's that you're stupid. As what's his name said to his audience the other day.

Gunner म्हणाले...

This is the kind of thing that fake conservatives like Boot, Rubin and David Brooks thought was important even if it was clearly meaningless. Lefties were already saying that Bin Laden was working with Bush.

Some people sang something.

Translation:

Ann - may I call you Ann? We seem so close. Can I give you some unsolicited Objective criticism? I'm really *troubled* by all the comments here that just aren't up to my standards and deviate from the *correct* views. Can you please put a stop to it? Of course, if you don't, well we'll know what you are. That's not a threat or anything. Just try to follow the party line and rid yourself of any *uncomfortable* viewpoints in the comments.

thanks.

I will certainly bow to your experience with cess pools.

Seeing Congress sing "God Bless America" makes me think of Samuel Johnson. BTW, is Congress "Stupid"? Of course not. They're greedy, corrupt phonies - which is entirely different. Some of them are actively anti-American and Evil. But "Stupid"? NO.

Leland म्हणाले...

I always felt that the Star Spangled Banner would have been more appropriate. It is the national anthem. The line "the flag was still there" was appropriate for the day. We had just been attacked, yet we were still here and would whether this new war as we had previous ones. And "God Bless America" invoked the religious aspects of the war that the Al Qaeda wanted to fight, and Congress and the President would later deny wanting to fight.

Singing "God Bless America", as Slip noted, made the whole thing seem fake and weak.

Big Mike म्हणाले...

I wonder how many other countries have a Battle Hymn. I also wonder why the Congress creatures failed to sing that song instead.

Bay Area Guy म्हणाले...

Love the song, like the small gesture of unity.

But.....

More than half the elected Democrat officials don't believe in God, don't believe that God Blesses America, and don't believe that racist, capitalist, Christian America is worthy of any blessing, until it is fundamentally transformed.

BUMBLE BEE म्हणाले...

Did you forget about Benghazi? A 13 hour gunfight that could have been won via air strike capabilities. Do we know who said "stand down"? How about our Hillary syncophants around here let us hear it! Assets were available, and willing, yet some poor chump was sent back to jail over it as well. And Stevens paraded around bareassed after capture died of smoke inhalation?
Fucking Demoncrats! I remember our Special Forces there. No man left behind?
