Our prisons are an unfortunate and far from perfect means of accountability. Its not the worst outcome someone can face though. The worse outcome would be murdering an unarmed someone with eleven small children from behind as they stop to shake the hand of a busboy in a hotel kitchen.

Biden visited prisons when he was VP, and he met an inmate who was a Navy Captain named Sirhan Sirhan.
He tried to pin a Silver Star on him for saving the life of Bobby Kennedy, but Mr. Sirhan protested. “No, Mr. Vice President, you’ve got it wrong. I didn’t save him. I killed him,” said Sirhan.
But Biden insisted. “You did your job,” said the Veep. “You have nothing to be ashamed of.” And he pinned the medal on his prison jumpsuit.
That’s exactly how it happened. You have his word as a Biden.
“That’s exactly how it happened. You have his word as a Biden.”
Obviously OT, but this has become a meme. I think that probably means that Biden is now unelectable. That means that the Dems desperately need to replace Biden as their front runner. Unfortunately, that very likely means Pocahontas Warren.
True story, true story. I was walking along with Beto Kennedy one day. Beto said to me "Mr. President thank you for your "there is no blue America or red America there are only Americans speech."
Right then a white supremist jumped in front of us and shot Baraka. I tackled the shooter, Sirhan Sirhan. I held him in my arms and he cried. HE DIED! HE DIED!
Weird that Sirhan looks absolutely nothing like he looked when he was in his 20s. Hard to believe it's the same person. Maybe it's not. (Cue Twilight Zone music.)
Paul Schrade seems pathetic in that video, feeling sorry for Sirhan. But I guess this is the week for Kennedy conspiracy theories.
Our prisons are a disgrace. They are nothing more than criminal training institutes that dehumanize all who enter. Pretty much forever ruining any life they had or will have.
Poor Sirhan. If only he had had the foresight to murder a Republican, he could have gained just as much publicity for his cause and could long ago have made parole. As it is, he murdered a liberal icon so no parole for Sirhan. How much happier his life would have been if he had killed a Republican. He could have returned to Gaza or the West Bank where he would have been granted a pension and a luxury apartment. Ms. Tlaib would have visited him before seeing her grandmother. Omar might have married him......The lesson we can all learn from the example of Sirhan is that it is unforgivably wrong to murder liberal icons, even though the fault lies with America's gun culture and not Sirhan
so, it's the 1960's people in Germany are trying to escape Communism people in Czechoslovakia are rising up against Communism people in Poland are rising up against Communism Basically, where ever people are under Communism, they want OUT
Meanwhile, Communist forces are trying to expand into: South East Asia, Africa, the Mid East; and Central America
So, WHAT do the American Youth (living in The Country on Earth with the Most People trying to get INTO) do? They RALLY Around COMMUNISM! And take to the streets protesting, THEIR OWN COUNTRY
While ALL THIS is happening; A Marine (working on the U-2 project, no less!) that defected to the USSR, and had recently been in Cuba KILLS the anti Communist President of the United States... Then, a while later; his brother is KILLED, by a gunman from Palestine (a Pro Communist Pretend State) .
MEANWHILE.... America's Youth Rally STRONGER than Ever around the Red Flag; Bombing and Killing people in America. Some of America's Youth, go to North Vietnam (a Communist puppet) and CHEER as American men and planes are shot down.
Paul Schrade seems pathetic in that video, feeling sorry for Sirhan.
So, the news report states that Sirhan was "moved down state, because He Wanted to be in Gen Pop. And IMMEDIATELY after that, Paul Charade says: "He's tried to be, in solitary confinement, 'cause he feels safer that way
If Paul Charade doesn't even know what Sirhan wants (or requested, in writing); tell me again WHY we should listen to a word Paul Charade says?
The guy's 75. if he survives just parole him. 50 years in Prison is enough. To my mind, it just shows how stupid "Life" in prison is. We've fed and clothed this killer for 50 years! He should have been executed. And buried like his victim in 1968.
RFK died because of his support for Israel. He also died because he supported lax immigration laws that let guys like Sirhan, Sirhan into the country. Of course, the liberals never said that. They blamed his death on "Amerika".
MEANWHILE.... America's Youth Rally STRONGER than Ever around the Red Flag; Bombing and Killing people in America. Some of America's Youth, go to North Vietnam (a Communist puppet) and CHEER as American men and planes are shot down.

Gilbar, that was bad, but here's something even more idiotic: I met young German radicals proudly defending Marxism while in sight of the Berlin Wall. That was back in the early '80's. Their Marxism was pure, of course, and not icky USSR/East German Marxism.
Those same people fervently denounced their own parents as Nazis. In the next breath, they praised the PLO.
Many young American leftists are utterly ignorant of the grim history of Communism. They haven't been taught about the gulags, the show trials, the famines. The '68 Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia? What? That happened? Really?
But to have a ringside seat to the horrors of 20th century totalitarianism and still get it wrong? I decided then that West German Marxists were a special brand of stupid.
Many young American leftists are utterly ignorant of the grim history of Communism.
I'm currently reading about China's early [ca 1917] revolutionary period and how well-meaning idealists managed to bring down a crumbling imperial regime but had little practical notion of how to build a workable replacement. The biggest problem with Communism/Socialism is its failure to acknowledge human nature and the fact that this nature is diametrically opposed to their idealistic model.
"The biggest problem with Communism/Socialism is its failure to acknowledge human nature and the fact that this nature is diametrically opposed to their idealistic model."
This. In Christian theology circles it's common to argue for Marxism/Communism, with many assuming the tools can be used without regard to the atheism. Others say the atheism is the big issue so it can't be used.
That's missing the point. The fundamental problem is that its anthropology, which being atheistic still has to come to terms with how and why people should work together. Only, it completely misunderstands people and so will always devolve into authoritarianism. The people, it turns out, still need gods, it's just a question of whether religion or politics supplies those.
that's a crazy board you posted that to, mike Sylvester, if you're familiar with the work of jim hougan, he outlines the animosity that Onassis had to Nixon, dulles et al, from a botched shipping deal, in other places, we discover that niarchos had a company handler, in ex? operative, Alfred ulmer, who was a former station chief in the 50s,
I had forgotten he was still alive. Interesting that the “parole the Manson family” lefties don’t want parole for Sirhan Sirhan. Of course, the same parole advocates say you don’t need the death penalty when you have life imprisonment available ...
Sirhan Sirhan was, quite properly, sentenced to death. But like Charles Manson, his death sentence was commuted in 1972 when Supreme Court Justices Douglas, Brennan, White, Marshall, and Stewart blatantly violated their oaths to uphold the Constitution.
If Sirhan Sirhan is executed in prison, both the Governor and the President should issue immediate pardons for the man who carries out the lawful but obstructed sentence. And the same should happen in all other cases of sentences illicitly commuted by the majority in Furman v. Georgia.
When Jack was murdered by a Commie, Democrats surrendered to them.
When Bobby was killed by the PLO's Sirhan, Democrats surrendered to them. Ayers even dedicated his book to Sirhan--I mean 'Prairie Fire", not 'Dreams From My Father'.
And when, just like RFK, Kate Steinle was murdered by her own replacement, Democrats surrendered to illegal alien criminals.

That’s exactly how it happened. You have his word as a Biden.
My explanation of Aristotle Onassis's role in the RFK assassination
Falls into the "I didn't know this person was still alive" category.
Wfirst Whitey Bulger, the Epstein, now the this. Who is next in the prison death pool?
It’s not celebrating, is it, to simply observe ‘“whatever will be, will be”?
Que Sirhan, Sirhan.

Brilliant, Wince!
does anyone ever mention that this guy was a Palestinian Terrorist?
does anyone ever mention What HE SAID was his motivation?
“That’s exactly how it happened. You have his word as a Biden.”
Obviously OT, but this has become a meme
If SNL Wanted to be Funny they'd take this and Run With IT; it could be hilarious!
To me it is interesting that one Kennedy got taken out by a communist and another was taken out by a Palestinian terrorist.
I don't know what to make of it but I find it interesting.
I don't know what to make of it but I find it interesting.
What to make of it is; IF they hadn't been executed; they would have been excommunicated from the party
Sirhan's not dead yet, but the words of Clarence Darrow are appropriate:
I have never killed any one, but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction.
You know the Clintons weren't behind this. Because the fucker wouldn't be "badly wounded", he would be "dead." Allahu akbar.

Except of course, execution on an official basis,. which is what should have happened.

As we have seen, our prisons are very poorly run.
This is an embarrassment. Our prison "system" is broken. It needs to be fixed, and the mentally ill dealt with in a different manner.
Regards — Cliff
The only way to "improve" prisons, is to lock convicts up, and never let them out of their cells. The possibilities of that happening are zero.
Our prisons are a disgrace. They are nothing more than criminal training institutes that dehumanize all who enter. Pretty much forever ruining any life they had or will have.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Sirhan"
"Nice to meet you too! Please, call me Sirhan"
As with Jeffrey Dahmer, inmates sometimes get their justice after incarceration. But, in this case, justice was incomplete.
I'm still waiting for justice to be served on Gary Ridgway.

Good to hear - he should have been publicly executed 40 years ago.
If we have custody of a person, we are also responsible for them.

"Sirhan Wraps It Up" was a poor headline back then--
Do we wait til he's out on parole to celebrate violence?

Agreed, but not necessarily in that order.
