Is oblivion about the problem of violence against women sometimes okay?

I see a woman ready and willing to protect herself and others. Sam Colt famously made men equal, now women can be equal. Isn't that the thing now, making women equal to men? She should be a poster-lady. I carry concealed, but her mileage may vary. Some states make it easier to carry open rather than concealed.

vanderleun म्हणाले...

I think Miller should screw his courage to the sticking post and just walk up to her and pull that dangerous pistol out of her holster and take it away. One can only hope she carries a back up on her ankle to stop his "active shooter" actions.

Howard, is that you ?

I knew a lady who ran auctions in several states and carried a revolver in her purse. Seemed sensible to me. There is also a store owner in these parts who open carries behind the counter. Seems a bit odd at first, but is easy to get used to.

Bill Peschel म्हणाले...

Why didn't he ask her?

Answer: Her answer would have caused her to change his mind about people. Maybe she had been raped and it made her feel better. Maybe she was a former police officer.

I don't think she would have minded answering the question, and since he took her picture without her permission, he would have looked less like the creepy stalker he is.

FrankiM म्हणाले...

Because buying bread is a dangerous undertaking. A lady can’t be too safe.

She is dressed in a very unfashionable manner, so she must be a deplorable Trump voter.

Of course, I was thinking that the grocery store is safer with her in there.

Yes. Especially in a WalMart or Costco these days. You never know when some deranged Bernie Bro or Elizabeth Warren supporter or Al Gore Global Warming Nut Case will try to stop you from buying eggs and milk to go along with that bread.

Big Mike म्हणाले...

@rcocean, that’s a clone of the Colt 1911, and many companies sell it in various levels of quality and price, but some companies make it in 9 mm or .40 as well as .45 ACP. Be that as it may, I am certain that if she is open carrying that gun then she is comfortable drawing and shooting it.

David Begley म्हणाले...

BUMBLE BEE म्हणाले...

Could be a Sheriff shopping on her way home. Note to self... Wesley Miller Law has strange fantasies about women's penis size. Red Flag required.

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

Who takes pictures of other people going about their daily life like that to shame them publicly?

Ignatius Acton Chesterton OCD म्हणाले...

Well, I can guarantee you no one’s gonna bother her. Smartest lady I’ve seen a picture of today!

Open carry — fully within her rights. Not sure what a penis has to do with it, but clearly Wesley’s avatar indicates he thinks he’s a wooly mammoth with long tusks. What a man. And Max looks like a happy ‘lil douchebag. No doubt they both live in gated communities and Whole Foods delivers to them.

As for her firearm selection, that’s a 1911. Likely chambered in 45 ACP. If she practices with it, she can handle it. And I’d carry a 45 over a 38 any day. Very practical, especially open carry — everyone can see it. Only criticism I have fir her is she’s not carrying it cocked-and locked, but not everyone is comfortable with doing that. She’s good people.

Who’s gonna protect her? The police? Dial 911 and die. The police will be there in (who-knows-how-many) minutes when seconds count.

Ann, with all due respect, this is about violence against all of us. I don’t know if you own a gun and have your concealed pistol license (CPL). If you don’t have your CPL, I am an instructor. I’d be happy to fly to Wisconsin for a private CPL training class for free, and your husband is welcome to join. Honest... my treat.

Since men are 3.347826087 times more likely to be murdered in the US than women, yes.

Find the very few countries wherein women are murdered more often than men: in 2010, 100% of the murder victims in Iceland was a woman.

stevew म्हणाले...

"I just don't get it"

Then you should stfu until you do. As Bill says above, the easiest way to do that is ask her. But it's not really about understanding, is it.

Was visiting one of my lefty progressive sisters (who happens to leave in NoCal) a couple of years ago. I mentioned that over the previous weekend I had gone for a longish bicycle ride with a buddy and then we went to his gun club and shot at targets for a couple of hours. Horrified she asked me why (!?!?, which already makes her better than this Wesley fella. I explained that it was a fun, sociable thing to do with a friend, very similar to the long bike ride we had gone on that morning. Didn't change her mind about guns but she at least acknowledged there could be a reason to have and use them. Fortunately she didn't follow up with a question about my gun ownership, I'd have been faced with the dilemma of comforting her by lying or scaring her with the truth.

Dust Bunny Queen म्हणाले...

@ rcocean Is that a .45? It looks a little too big to be practical, something easier to handle would be more appropriate, maybe a .38?

Agreed. My preference is a Lady Smith Much easier for me to handle and just as effective.

But then again, I don't open carry. Mine are for home protection, going outside at night when I don't want to use a rifle or shotgun (wild critters here) and when we are out camping. A shotgun is also a good home protection weapon. However, use of a shotgun probably will require more drywall work than a .38.

A .380 is also OK for a small handgun.

Mary Beth म्हणाले...

What if 35 to 50 feral hogs suddenly run through the grocery?!

Michael K म्हणाले...

Nut Case will try to stop you from buying eggs and milk to go along with that bread.

The meat aisle is especially dangerous as meat is causing global warming.

Once again, I am reminded of the radio show in the 80s where every woman caller in LA carried a gun even though CA has no CCW.

Unless, of course you are a big contributer to a Sheriff. And they are all Democrats.

Tyrone Slothrop म्हणाले...

I have a concealed carry permit, and I carry every day. I hope I never have to use my gun, but these bleeding heart douchebags may one day be grateful that I have one. Incidentally, I'm completely satisfied with the size of my penis. Never had any complaints.

Dust Bunny Queen म्हणाले...

Who’s gonna protect her? The police? Dial 911 and die. The police will be there in (who-knows-how-many) minutes when seconds count.

Exactly. People who dismiss the need for protection as being some sort of epeen showing off live in a nice protective bubble....or think they do. The fantasy that when you dial 911 there will actually be someone there to help you.

We live in a rural area. Dial 911 and unless they happen to be driving nearby, you will be lucky to get a Sheriff in about 30 minutes or more likely an hour. Not their fault. They can only be in one place at a time and when they are covering hundreds of square miles, the likelihood that they are magically near your location is slim to none.

Guns are tools and are necessary tools in many cases.

Reminds me of the old joke

Why do you carry a gun?
Because a cop is too heavy!

Fernandinande म्हणाले...

The small-penised violent crazy woman is looking at...WHITE bread.

BUMBLE BEE म्हणाले...

The woman is proudly pro choice. Guess that scares lefties. She has control about who lives and who dies. Let that sink in.
On a different tack, every woman I introduced into handgunning was intrigued with the sport. Several I've known as anti in high school became avidly pro. Any woman seeking a "higher power" handgun should try out a ported model. Remember It is quite possibly be a crackhead you're up against. My hunting partner teaches woman's Defense shotgun 16ga. or 20ga is manageable.

Mary Beth म्हणाले...

Joking aside, I doubt I would give a second thought to this woman if I saw her in the bread aisle. If I did wonder why she was armed, I would probably assume she had a job that made carrying a gun practical - she transports money or other valuables, or does something involving law enforcement, but there are other careers that make it useful too.

Do the anti-gun people just assume she's (just) a housewife? With a penis? I'm sorry, but a housewife with a penis, even a small one, isn't a person I would put on a "most likely to carry a gun" list.

I own no guns. This is not our tradition.

It is however yours. You would not be who you are without them.
You are a people created by the spontaneous reaction of the villagers of Lexington and Concord. That is where you started, that is what you are. Your real constitution is written in gunpowder, by your villagers, not the fine words of some landowner.

I admire and respect that tradition of yours, however foreign it is to me.
It seems to me that it is incumbent on immigrants to your country to adopt your customs. Your institutions no longer require that, and have turned against them entirely.

Dust Bunny Queen म्हणाले...

@ stevew Hey gilbar, she lives in Berkeley actually. I'm a Boston MA guy, is referring to Berkeley as Northern California incorrect?

I live in The State of Jefferson. And we call this the True Northern California. If you look at a map of Ca, there is Hella lot of are north of SF. Miles and miles. It is actually in the middle of the State.

No offense taken. Calling SF Northern is just common usage, even if geographically wrong. Everyone, especially the media, forgets that there is more to the State.

Actually we are happy to be the forgotten red headed (conservative) step children of the rest of California. The more they forget about us and leave us alone, the happier we will be.

Yancey Ward म्हणाले...

Here is the thing I don't get- we see police open carry all the time- I have never, in my life, seen a police officer not openly armed with a pistol- so why is anyone bothered to see a non-police officer armed? Are you really more worried that a carrying non-cop would shoot than you would be if it was someone in a uniform? Isn't that irrational?

rcocean म्हणाले...

From what I understand the 1911 Colt has "Stopping power". But usually we're not being attacked by Moros Tribesman or stopping a Banzai Charge - so if you're a small handed lady - a .38 might be more appropriate. Of course, if she's well trained she can handle it but then She could probably handle a B.A.R if was well trained on it.

The real point of open carry is to warn off bad guys. So any gun is as good as another.

El Supremo म्हणाले...

I guess what he's saying is some lives are worth defending and some are not, but he's not willing to defend any of them.

If a violent criminal put Mr. Miller's life in danger, and that woman was nearby, he would suddenly see the impressiveness and value she brings to her life and his.

Hero complex? I hope so, especially if I need her someday. The El Paso Walmart could have used a hero complex on sight instead of minutes away outside.

I don't know of anything more impressive or valuable than a hero with small penis syndrome when you need them. Do the cops have those issues too? How about soldiers?

I have been carrying a firearm every waking hour for nearly a year now, since I left CA. It gives you great peace of mind combined with a dread of the consequences of having to use it. The legal, financial, and moral risks and responsibilities are truely sobering and pretty scary. It takes a lot of courage to take those on, but what is worse is the vicious criminals who are around you every day, and you have no idea who they are, and usually you don't see them until it's too late. They have no respect for you, human life, or the losses they cause. You are not even human to them. They look for people like Mr. Miller and they avoid people like this woman, and they would likely avoid everyone around her.

I don't prefer that people open carry, but it's better than nothing, and you see people like this all the time in Nevada, and nobody much notices. I have people walk into my business with open sidearms like that. I suppose it scares some people, but it make me feel safe.

Ignatius Acton Chesterton OCD म्हणाले...

FrankM @11:55 AM: “Or some right wing white nationalist xenophobe who has been triggered by Trump rhetoric.“

Or some pornogrimd vocalist Antifa Democrat socialist ICE-hating satanist and would-be rapist triggered by Elizabeth Warren. Oh, and he liked gun control. Yeah, that guy. I guess he was a just left winger really upset about El Paso.

Maybe you dint know all those things about the Dayton shooter. The mainstream media doesn’t like to talk about those “sensitive” details.

FrankiM म्हणाले...

Just wondering, how can one tell the difference between someone who comes into a public place open carrying guns benevolently from someone who is there to mow you down? Before they start shooting they may look harmless or even comforting. Not all of these mass shooters were wearing body armor or dressed in all black. Some might even be dressed like a grandma.

I can't even imagine being a woman and being at the mercy of 50% of the population who can do whatever they want to me at will. Humans can be very cruel, and women mostly can't stop them. I guess the ladies get used to expecting someone to protect them, but I think most men expect it will be up to them, Mr. Miller excluded of course. I take that responsibility for myself and others around me very seriously. If all I have is a phone and 911, I am completely useless to them in most bad situations. I wouldn't like it, but I could live unarmed as a man, but I never could as a woman, or even a man with women around me. I may be just a bicycle, but I'm all you got, unless you too have small penis syndrome. Actually, if I had a small penis, I'd probably not protect myself. What's the point?

The point of all this is not to defend yourselves, as individuals, but to credibly threaten your own government, and major institutions. The American tradition is one of distrust, and even hatred of authority.

Individual defense, or deterrence, is quite beside the point as a politico-cultural matter.

To carry a weapon like that is a public declaration of this distrust, that the authorities are warned that rebellion is just around the corner, should they outrage the public, and that no trickery will save them.

My thoughts when seeing a 1911 open carried is that they are a gun aficionado. I love shooting a decent 1911, but carry black plastic handguns. Partially it is the capacity - even a compact (e.g. G17) black plastic gun carries twice the rounds of a 1911. It makes little sense to me to spend twice or more, for half the capacity esp when accuracy is not that important at typical self defense distances. Most police carrying duty weapons these days carry black plastic guns, little different from what most of us own. In this county, only the elected Sheriff carries a pretty 911 like she is carrying. All of his deputies carry more utilitarian guns. Which is why I assumed she is a civilian gun enthusiast.

I was talking to the head banker in town Friday, and we got off on guns (because we had both taken the county’s Justice of the Peace’s shooting class, and we were talking about the HOA taking a case before him). The banker is a .40 guy, and I told him I prefer 9 mm because of its cost. He was surprised that I shoot .40 in my 10 mm for practice, again for cost (10 mm is egregiously expensive). (I will be carrying it openly today, loaded with 10 mm solid cast, because of the possibility of encountering denizens of the ursine variety).

Kevin म्हणाले...

Son, we live in a world that has Wal-Marts, and those Wal-Marts have to be guarded by people with guns. Who's gonna do it? You, Howrote? You, Miller? As gun owners, we have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for El Paso, and you curse the President. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what we know. That your local shooting range, while under constant attack from the zoning board, probably saves lives. And our existence and bread choices, while grotesque and not from non-GMO whole-grain wheat, saves lives. You don't want the truth of why we carry because deep down in places you don't tweet about at parties, you want us at your Wal-Mart, you need us at your Wal-Mart. We use words like honor, code, tight grouping. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending ourselves and our fellow citizens. You use them as a punchline to the latest CNN hoax. We have neither the time nor the inclination to explain ourselves to beta males who rise, sleep, and sample kombucha under the blanket of the very freedom that we provide, then question the manner in which my fellow citizens and I provide it. We would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, otherwise, we suggest you become proficient, pick up a weapon, and walk an aisle. Either way, we don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.

El Supremo म्हणाले...

"Just wondering, how can one tell the difference between someone who comes into a public place open carrying guns benevolently from someone who is there to mow you down?"

Maybe you can't tell the difference, but whether you identify him correctly or not, it is still far better to be armed or have other good guys armed around you, becuase nothing can stop the bad guy from showing up with guns out, hidden, or with a big knife. All we can really control is how well we are prepared to defend.

These heavily armed shooters are the very very small exception. You are a thousand times more likely to be attacked by a man with a single gun, a single knife, a tire iron, or just his bare hands. I'm too old now to defend myself or anyone else with my bare hands, but I still love those around me, and they expect me to protect them. So what do I do? Do I say I have big penis and don't need no gun?

buwaya @12:21 PM: “Individual defense, or deterrence, is quite beside the point as a politico-cultural matter.“

Incorrect. The two are inextricably tied.

If you read the history of the Second Amendment, it is protection from tyranny, and also protection of one’s person. This was important in a frontier setting for protection and food.

However, in the modern era, it is for personal protection when the state cannot (or will not) provide adequate protection. Detroit’s Police Chief Janes Craig is an ardent Second Amendment supporter for this reason. He realizes the cops cannot protect everyone, and applauds an armed citizenry against criminal elements.

So please understand it’s not just Jefferson’s “... the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. it is it’s natural manure.“. The Second Amendment is an individual right to protect one’s person, as per District of Columbia v Heller (2008) and McDonald v Chicago (2010) — both which all four liberal Justices voted against, of course. I recommend you read Scalia’s opinion in Heller. It is an excellent synopsis of the origins of the Second Amendment.

In terms of distrust in our government, the Epstein result provides solid basis for informed skepticism. Next up: Julian Asange.

They used to have outdoor shooting sites in the mountains above L.A., but they gradually closed them all. There are indoor ranges, but that always felt claustrophobic and unnatural, besides they frown on my diving over tables and rolling across the floor while unloading fire on the zombies coming from all directions. Or, we could say that nobody is allowed to have a gun, which is how it worked out in El Paso, becuase that was the law in that store, which the bad guys never have to follow. Mostly you can tell pretty easily. There just aren’t that many white middle aged female mass murderers. Mostly, that is a young male game. The two older shooters whom I can think of (LAS and the House Republican softball team) shot from a distance using rifles, instead of using handguns. When we are in AZ for part of the year, the cops are very likely to talk to young males openly carrying, unless they are obviously doing something where a gun might be useful at work, such as a cashier at a convenience or liquor store. And if the young male openly carrying has tear drops tatted around his eyes, or is wearing obvious gang clothing, they are likely to be disarmed first. Around here in rural MT, an openly armed young male is much less likely to arouse suspicion. But we see a bit more open carry too.

@rcocean, there is an ongoing debate about what constitutes "stopping power" and how necessary it is. Criminals participating in shootouts have suffered fatal wounds from .357 magnums (way harder hitting than a .45 ACP) and continued to fight. Other criminals have been hit in nonfatal body locations by light caliber rounds and surrendered, killed themselves, or fled the scene. I know of one case where a mother defended her kids with a 5 shot .38 revolver (like DBQ's Ladysmith) and hit the home intruder who was chasing her five times in the head and neck, yet he kept coming on. At that point she had retreated to the attic and had nowhere else to run, so she pointed the (empty) gun at him again and asked whether he had had enough. He decided that he had -- and he died in her driveway.

The 1911 was adopted for several reasons, one was the current US Pistol had not stopped the Moros Tribesman. I don't think anyone has complained about the Colt's "stopping power". Of course, that's one myth Hollywood loves. One shot and you drop dead. The other is "its just a flesh wound" or people getting shot in the shoulder and are well the next day. The hero just puts his arm in a sling, and he's good to go. Tell that to Bob Dole.

Bruce Hayden म्हणाले...

“@rcocean, there is an ongoing debate about what constitutes "stopping power" and how necessary it is.”

.45 ACP comes from a time when you essentially had the choice of ball ammunition, or ball ammunition A big fat bullet made some sense then in terms of “stopping power”. That is because, for the most part, you want bigger holes, since you usually stop someone coming at you through blood loss. That was over a century ago. Now, modern self defense ammunition mushrooms, which can open up larger wound channels with smaller caliber rounds.

“IRC, Michael Brown charged the officer in Ferguson and was hit 4 or 5 times, but kept on coming. Not sure what pistol he had.”

I think that it was 7 shots. The first was when Brown was trying to take Wilson’s service weapon from him while he was sitting in his Tahoe. The other six were later, in pairs. Two to the arm, continuing to retreat. Brown stops, shakes it off, and starts advancing. Two to the torso, continuing to retreat. Brown again stops, shakes it off, and starts advancing again. Two to the lowered head (Wilson described it as a “bull rush”), both fatal.

My memory is that Wilson was carrying a .40 caliber Sig. No reason to believe that Wilson would have been more successful with a .45 1911, and if he had carried one, and he would have been out, or almost out of ammunition after 7 shots, contrasted to the half a magazine he had left.

Actually this IS exactly the point of being able to bear and maintain "arms". To PERSONALLY be able to defend myself. It may not always be against people...in fact rarely I would hope that is the case. Defense against mountain lions, rabid coyotes and to be able to massacre the freaking ground squirrels that are destroying our property.

, but to credibly threaten your own government, and major institutions. The American tradition is one of distrust, and even hatred of authority.

This also is the main reason for the 2nd Amendment and the reason that the liberal/socialists/and our very own government want it abolished. An armed populace is one that can't be cowed and suppressed.

The distrust of authority is a Scots/Irish tradition. The clans and tribes of the Celtic peoples are a bottom up type of government. We have a leader who is appointed/elected/chosen by consensus. UNTIL that leader isn't agreed upon anymore and then the group chooses a new leader. You are only good enough to run the show...until you aren't.

Unlike those cultures that have a King or Queen. An inherited position that is not questioned or ousted. (other than death or beheading) The King or Queen rule with unlimited authority. Unlike the tribal chieftan who is always questioned and even distrusted.

This is the cultural difference. The United States was basically founded on those Scots Irish cultural/governmental traditions. The schism between the Scots/Iris contingent and the King/Queen loyalists is also one of the reasons that there were tensions between the colonists before the precipitating events.

To understand this you might want to read Born Fighting by Jim Webb

Individual defense, or deterrence, is quite beside the point as a politico-cultural matter.

To carry a weapon like that is a public declaration of this distrust, that the authorities are warned that rebellion is just around the corner, should they outrage the public, and that no trickery will save them.

Yes. And the authorities want to suppress the proles, take away our right to SELF government and keep us subjugated. They Authorities want to be the Kings and Queens and the rest of us to be deplorable peons.

So a modern .45 ACP could be designed like a modern 9mm and be even better?

Bruce Hayden म्हणाले...

One of the problems Wilson had stopping Big Mike Brown, was that Brown was really big. We are taking almost 300 lbs, at 6’3” or so. Big enough to play line at a D III college, except that a lot of that weight was probably in fat. For the most part, the way that you stop someone coming at you is blood loss, and it was going to take quite a bit to get Brown to bleed out enough to stop him, and probably compounding the problem was his fat was probably pushing the wound tracks closed. The other way of stopping someone is to disrupt their central nervous system. And that is what finally worked. The problem though with head shots a lot of time though, is that there are a lot of angles to a human skull, that often deflect bullets. Brown, lowering his head in his Bull Rush, probably negated this, to some extent, by presenting the top, more vulnerable, part of his skull, to Wilson.

“So a modern .45 ACP could be designed like a modern 9mm and be even better?”

It is a lot better now. Pretty much anything that you can buy for 9 mm, is available in .45. Mostly you just don’t need that higher caliber, esp when it comes with more recoil, which translates into slower and often less accurate, follow up shots. I think that it has been 30 or so years now since the US military, for the most part, moved from .45 ACP to 9 mm Luger.

Michael K म्हणाले...

I have a number of different caliber pistols. The 1911 is a favorite for tradition. A Beretta 9mm is in my car.

Plus, there's that pesky safety to deal with, and the first-round double action trigger pull is an ungodly 18 lbs. So yesterday I decided to bridge the gap and bought a Glock 26. Utterly consistent 5.5 lb. trigger pull, no safety, concealable enough, and ten rounds of 9mm P. It feels like a quantum step up.

Sorry stevew! It's Completely correct*, but as Dust Bunny Queen pointed out; a hundred miles North of that is a whole other ball game; and your sister would be an odd fit there (maybe not in Reading ); so i just wondered.

Completely Correct* Just like West Point is in Upstate New York, or Peoria is in downstate Illinois

We are seeing increasing reports of mountain lions here in Tucson.
Mountain lions hunt by stalking their prey. If you think that you are going to get off a shot in the fraction of a second between the time you see it and it pounces, you are seriously deluded.

100% of the murder victims in Iceland was a woman.

How many times can one woman be killed?

MM: "How many times can one woman be killed?"

It depends on the daily lefty/LLR-lefty narrative requirements.

I'm against open carry, for two reasons. One, it could be seen as a threat, possibly an assault. A thug could use it to bully others
Two, it eliminates the element of surprise, making it harder for law-abiding gun-carriers to defend themselves. If you were a violent criminal, whom would you shoot first? That has happened.

In lefty/dem/LLR-lefty-land its still considered a terrible tragedy for the lefty royalty Kennedy clan to have to deal with Mary Jo's unwillingness to not die in the car that swerved off the road all by itself while Teddy was behind the wheel.

The arguments about handguns are never-ending, and that's OK. I'm not alone on this, but I think the Glock 19 is the perfect CCW gun.

Glock because they are simple, very reliable, and everything made for handguns is made for Glocks first, so it's all available and cheap.

The 9mm, because with today's ammo technology, you get plenty of stopping power, yet you also get lots of shots on board, the recoil is light enough to allow accurate follow up shots at quick intervals, and the 9mm is very economical ammo.

The Glock 19 because the 17 is too big and the other 9mms sacrifice too many rounds on board. The Glock 19 with a standard magazine carries 16 rounds. I like that in a compact gun.

It's the epitome of the sweet spot. Maybe something else excels in one aspect or another but the Glock is simply best overall. I don't even know how you could make it better unless you could somehow make it smaller and not lose rounds.

Yea, I know - everybody changes the Glock sights, but I don't need to. I use the Leftist aiming method: I feel like I'm on target, I hope I'm right, but if not, it's Trump's fault anyway.

Field Marshall Freder, in addition to being an expert on the Bundy Case results, is also apparently an expert on large predator behavior close to urban environments.

Cool.

With practice you can easily draw and shoot in under 2 seconds, so if you have any warning, you will have a good chance at hitting or at least scaring it with the first shot. Worst scenario: he gets the jump on you and grabs you by the neck. He can't incapacitate you before you can pull out the gun and stick it in his ribs or temple and light him up. As long as I have those possibilities, I'm gonna feel OK with the gun. Without it, you're screwed. A hundred pound hungry cat? That's a scary pussy.

Because buying bread is a dangerous undertaking. A lady can’t be too safe.

Why don't you go run your mouth to all the friends and family of those who were simply 'buying bread' at Wal*Mart last week?

“I've NEVER wanted an AR-15, they seem scary and weird. Plus, they're Military type weapons

People (not just me, but ALL people) should stick with safe, sensible sporting rifles;
like a Ruger Mini-14, chambered in .223
Unlike an AR-15, which is Just a Killing Machine; a Mini-14 (in .223) is FUN!”

.223/5.56 is the same, whether in a Mini-14 or an AR-15.

Part of why I like AR-15s is that they are so modular. Legally the same firearm can be .223 one minute, and .300 Blackout a minute or two later. Just pop the two takedown pins, and replace the upper receiver, barrel, etc. and it is so easy to customize and personalize the guns.

Seems to me that open carry is like hanging a sign around your neck that says "Rob me!".

OMG ! The Field Marshall is weighing in with expertise.
