wildswan म्हणाले...: I think the hopeless outlook of many men born at the Millennium and after - student debt, no good job, no wife, no house, no children - is a leading cause for their support of socialism. They think they wouldn't have student debt, everyone would have a job, they would have house - and as a result of these social changes they would have a wife and children. It isn't windmills or solar panels or trans rights but something else they ache after so much it can't be mentioned, another climate that they want changed. And those who do well probably know high school buddies failing in these ways and know they aren't to blame and want socialism for them. Not that socialism would get it for them, but they aren't really thinking about: socialism - does it work? They are watching their lives vanish like smoke. We saw just how wrong they were on Russian Collusion because they were devoted to the "resistance" rather than the truth. Well, they have the same devotion to Global Warming, they want carbon taxes / "green" energy, and they are probably just as wrong about it.

Like Michael K says, " A lot of glaciers will begin to grow unless sun spots return next year. " There has always been a alternate theory to our recent global warming. It wasn't included in the "models" because it won't come up with the answer that kept up the government funding. It's the Solar cycles. Look at the chart - five of the nine most active cycles have occurred since 1950. The cycle around 1970 was a significant drop and lead to the "new ice age" predictions that we saw then. There is a strong correlation going back to when Galileo first saw sunspots. The Maunder Minimum corresponds to the little ice age; the Dalton Minimum managed to occur when Napoleon invaded Russia during an usually cold winter. It's dropping again. We saw some of the impact this winter.

CO2, land use, irrigation, even air conditioning do effect local temperatures but ignoring the solar input is turning a complex multi-variant analysis into a farcical one variable analysis.

BTW, if you google "sunspot theory of global warning" you will find plenty articles by alarmists saying it's wrong. You can also find plenty of articles describing how Trump is a Russian puppet - think Gell-Mann amnesia effect; २५/३/१९, ११:०६ PM
