A day before Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was officially sworn-in, near decade-old footage of the congresswoman dancing as a student at Boston University re-emerged on Twitter, apparently in an effort to embarrass her....The attacks are so stupid I wonder if they're false flag, but I've seen enough to believe the AOC haters are this stupid.
"Here is America's favourite commie know-it-all acting like the clueless nitwit she is," one right-wing Twitter account, @AnonymousQ1776, wrote as they shared the clip. The account, which appears to reference the bizarre QAnon conspiracy theory, has since been removed.
"After Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is forced out of office after one term she can go dance on a stage that has a pole," said another.

To be fair to Cookie there is a difference between the political scheduled tax rate and effective tax rates, that net economic 'burden'. Speaking of the former and of the rate OCC speaks, add up federal, state, local, property, excise and for many people in many parts of the country a 50% rate shows up quickly.
To be fair to everyone else, Cookie's statement that's what tax cuts for the rich generally do...bite everyone else in the wallet, and create deficits. has no basis in fact when considering anything but a yet to be implemented tax scheme.

Neither I nor Mitt Romney are for "open borders." It is thoroughly untrue that Mitt Romney "doesn't care" about the issue. You don't have a single quote, not a shred of evidence, to back yourself up on that.
For my part, I have repeatedly said that as a member of Congress I would happily vote for an array of immigration reforms that would put me into the "immigration hawk" wing of the Republican Party. I'd like to see an end to birthright citizenship for children born to illegals. I'd like to see a boost in enforcement of e-verify measures. I'd be happy to see an increase in general border security measures (staffing, technology, etc). I see no place in our federal system for any "sanctuary" cities or states. I'd vote for legislation to address that federally. I would not favor any deals, including any DACA deals, that create amnesty or a pathway to citizenship for illegals.
Some of those views of mine are farther to the anti-immigrant right than Donald Trump is.
I just don't like "the Wall" as a sop to Trump's stupid campaign promise about "a great wall, that Mexico will pay for." Which was not just a lie, but a stupid lie.

I'm going to go out on a limb - regardless of how early it is - and predict that her political career is going to crash and burn. My reasons are as follows:
- She's a walking-talking gaffe machine, on a scale I don't think we've seen yet
- Rumor has it there's lots of compromising stuff out there, just waiting for the right time to be released if you know what I mean. This is a consequence of the new-fangled-curated-life these millennials lead
- I'm dubious that she has any real loyalties, or understands what that really means. I.E. She'll turn on her friends at some point. She bounces off the walls, and people who support her aren't going to be able to catch her or simply won't
- Most of her success thus far quite frankly has been two factors. 1) luck and 2) media-puffing. 1) Is unlikely to happen again and 2) is growing less efficacious even to the Dems base
- Related to the gaffe-machine but different, her shoot from the hip mentality is going to get her in some kind of ethics violation. She'll end up doing something embarrassing or plain illegal
- Lastly, she's seems completely unable to take no for an answer
I foresee that she'll always be with us, I just think that will end up being as a cable news pundit or long-term DNC stooge.

I suppose it is possible that it was an AOC hater that posted it. We have the following complications with that theory:
1. The poster is anonymous.
2. The poster has a ridiculous user name. Either the user has no self-awareness or the user is parodying a "conservative" user name.
3. The poster apparently no longer exists. It was there for the post, then gone again.
4. This video is nothing new. It's been seen before. Apparently, someone decided this was a big deal for... reasons?
There is also the matter that we keep hearing accusations that conservatives are using the video to shame AOC, except we get basically no examples of that whatsoever other than an anonymous Twitter user and perhaps a handful of nobodies.

Honestly, I have taken to dislike using the term "attacked" for "criticized." I've never really liked it, but accepted it as a bit political color. But, since, you know, we've actually had Republican Congressmen attacked and -- what is it now, two failed assassination attempts on Trump (yes, they were disastrously failed, like, whipping a gun out in a crowd of Secret Service inept, but, still).
Not only that, but we've actually had political speakers attacked with actual rocks and things to silence them. Maybe, until casual and routine violence against certain political groups is ended, we should save the descriptor "attacked" for actual attacks.
To tie this in: AOC has no maturity. She has no gravitas. She has very little sense and seemingly no education.
This does not seem to bother her core voters. She is young, perky, and with sufficient photoshop, photogenic. That is enough.
So the big problem isn't her dancing. It is how does Pelosi ride as Chaperone to the rowdy, drunken, belligerent frat girls she has filling her quorum? How much time is she going to waste covering for 'Motherfucker' Tlaib, Occasionally Coherent, or the other ridiculous women who got in because #MeToo was all about scuttling male candidates?
