There's the Jimmy Kimmel Halloween Candy "trick" he does every year, and I find it repulsive. Why do people find it funny?

Kids can be cute. Kids can be obnoxious, even our own children.

Most of the scripted and forced kids videos that I have (unfortunately) been exposed to are just disgusting. The children are not being normal. They are exploited by their parents. I.m not that much entertained by children or these stupid staged moments of childhood.

One day, IF (and that is a big if) these children grow up to be normal, they will not thank their parents for this exposure.

I couldn't get through more than 1.56 minutes of that video. The smarmy voice of the narrator and the obnoxiousness....gross....where is my coffee!!!!

["viral video industry"] = only 26 results, and at least six of them are about this video.

Therefore there is no "viral video industry".

Same reason people used to find Borat funny. It's a form of slapstick, which actually is funny when it involves knowing voluntary participants. Not everyone understands intuitively how mean spirited it is when the patsy isn't in on the joke.

Why is everything “exploitation”? Next it will be called abuse. Get a grip people. No one is getting harmed, and no, embarrassment is not harm.

Althouse fake news.

Really dislike the breathless, informal Buzzfeed feel the video has. And of course it tosses in the specter of government regulation and overused buzz words like "emotional labor."

Interesting report. I did see the bit my finger video when I saw it on a list otherwise filled with pop music videos. Otherwise, would rather look at dog and cat videos (some with kids). Are they being exploited?

Did you watch the video?

Wow, now I am investigating Amanda Hess and discovering that she will be at the Ace Hotel in downtown LA tomorrow. But now I am also discovering that Norah Jones will be in concert at the Ace Hotel tomorrow and I love her singing. How to choose?? But now I discover Norah Jones sold out (bummer). Guess I'll check out Amanda Hess.

This is stomach-turning. Blech. Who would do this to their children? It’s so foolish, for so many reasons.

On a brighter note, thank goodness for Kavanaugh that he wasn’t a YouTube child star.

I went to elementary school with a child star (from commercials). It screwed with him.

I hate all those videos that exploit Siberian Huskies.

It seems like the media and technology are breeding horrible people, more than ever before.

Good People

Well you win, it's your show now
So what's it gonna be
'Cause people will tune in
How many train wrecks do we need to see
Before we lose touch of
We thought this was low
It's bad getting worse so

Where did all the good people go,
I've been changing channels
I don't see them
On the TV shows
Where did all the good people go,
We got heaps and heaps of what we sow
