The sample use is dialogue: "Hey man my phone just died"/"This is so sad Alexa play despacito." It seems to fit the niche that used to be occupied by: "Cue the world's tiniest violin."
Here's the Know Your Meme article on "Despacito," including the video of the song (which I won't embed here, because I don't do all the remedial education anyone might need). It's the most-watched video of all time, I'm reading.
Here are the lyrics, translated into English, in case you're wondering what is ludicrously sad about it. Short answer: nothing. It's about sex:
Slowly
I want to undress you in kisses slowly
Firmly in the walls of your labyrinth
And of your body, I want to create a manuscript
Up, up
Up, up, up
I want to see your hair dance...
Let me trespass your danger zones
Until I make you scream
And you forget your last name...
I want to see how much love fits in you
I’m not in a rush I want to experience this trip
Let’s start slowly, then savagely...

Despacito is the theme song of The Resistance
Pretty sure singing that in Persian posted to You Tube will get you sent to Wrong Path for correction.
Watch out all you anti-dance legalists. Latin music is 100% dance music made for heterosexuals who use it as public foreplay. The Video reminded me of Eric Trump's new Puerto Rican girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle. Trump men like the female shape.
As of a serendipitous Thursday in Cape Town, I now like the Zulu shape.
Synchronicity:
In July 2017, officials from the Government of Malaysia reported that "Despacito" was being banned from airing on government-owned broadcast stations as a result of public complaints.[73] Government ministers said that the song was considered un-Islamic and that its lyrics were "not suitable to be heard."
It sounds to me like a Ladakhi pop song

Way down the comments somewhere it says they badly need some new moves.
My Spanish is out of whack. I thought that translated into little despot.
With all the 24/7/365 voice recognition systems around, ICE should be summoned whenever Despacito is detected. Even someone saying the title.
For those with enquiring minds.
I am more interest in El Degüello which is what we are going to play as we go into the midterms.
No quarter.
The lyrics of the recent latin pop songs are almost always about sex. Despacito is actually a pretty hard song to memorize because there are several versus between the chorus (the "despacito" part). I liked last year's hit Subeme la radio because it was about what you do when you are heartbroken (crank up some tunes, drink some booze)
Until I read the translation in Althouse' post, I always heard "until you change your last name" (hasta que cambies el apellido). I thought that part was actually kind of sweet, him suggesting that the sex was gonna be so amazing that she was going to want to get married!
I listened to the song and watched the video on Youtube, and I'm not sure it passes muster as a tribute to post-modern 21st Century feminist enlightened emancipation.
Hey, I'm just sayin'...
