A couple of days ago, Pretty Boy Trudeau’s party lost their first bye election since he was made PM, to a conservative (or what passes for a conservative in Canada anyway.)
On the subject of pussies, David Brooks has finally decided the hormones aren't enough. He's going to get the operation;
"This is exactly what the Trump immigration policies are doing. Families are ripped apart and children are left weeping by the fences constructed by government officials blindly following a regulation."
He wasn't quite that concerned back when President PantsCrease was doing the same thing. I can think of other things that get ripped apart, David. With specially-designed stainless steel forceps that cost $1000 a pair. But at least those children don't do any weeping, or not where little David can hear.
I was messing about with Google's demands that I review my Privacy Policy.
There's section called "turn off ads personalization across the web." If you say "yes, do that" Google warns you that one of the consequences is: "You'll no longer be able to mute ads". This is consequence number three in a list.
So I wonder why that has to happen. Any ideas from the informed? especially how to turn off ads personalization across the web losing the ability to turn off ads blaring voices.
The building in the picture is the Old Village Hall (1894) which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Duluth is the birth place of of a Freewheelin writer and singer of Girl From The North Country. His lines haunt me today: Remember me to one who lives there. She once was a true love of mine.
Hollywood celebrities divorce frequently and thus separate themselves from their own children.
For example, Peter Fonda has been married three times and has two children. I assume that after his divorces his children stayed with his ex-wives and therefore grew up mostly without their father.
Nevertheless, Peter Fonda has made himself our country's spokesman against situations that cause children to be separated from their parents.
What motivated Peter Fonda to separate himself from his wives and children?
Maybe he thought that enjoying sexual variety with other women was more important to himself than keeping his first two marriages together.
Many American children grow up with only their mothers, and they see their fathers only sporadically during weekends and vacations. I assume that Peter Fonda's children grew up that way.
I assume that after Peter Fonda told his children that he was divorcing their mother, the children cried themselves to sleep every night for several weeks.
Peter Fonda's mother committed suicide after his father, the famous actor Henry Fonda, told his mother that he wanted a divorce after 13 years of marriage. That marriage produced two children -- Peter himself and his sister Jane.
Peter's father had been having an affair with another woman. Within about a year after Peter's mother committed suicide, his father married the other woman, who was 21 years old. At that time, Peter was about ten years old.
Right now, Barron Trump is about 12 years old -- just a little older than Peter was when his adulterous father divorced his mother, when his mother committed suicide, and his father married his 21-year-old lover.
Perhaps Peter Fonda resents that Barron Trump 12 already 12 years old, yet Barron's parents are still married and Barron's biological mother is still alive and Barron's father has not married a 21-year-old lover.
That resentment might be why Peter Fonda so gleefully wished that bad things would happen to young Barron.
Isn't it lovely out in the country on Midsummers Eve, and to contemplate the beauty of nature, a door into the everlasting.
And let Ann and her tribe ignore the wickedness of the US President they love, and in their pathetic fear of those brown babies endorse and applaud the hilariously funny spectacle of caged brown diapered children. Teach those kids a lesson, Ann likes to say.
Come on Ann, tell it like it is about those little brown babies, as you lounge in your milk-bath of love for the clever and brilliant and honest president, how much you fear them, how afraid and unsafe you really feel.
And go ahead and admit that you don't care that the President may be being blackmailed by the Russians, and is their agent, because you couldn't be more indifferent about America and its laws except for your crazy sex and porno preoccupations and of course the interests of your tribe. How did that happen? Come on Ann, give your readers the benefit of your reading and yourself the grace of being more like someone with a heart.
Let's see: Madonna thinks about blowing up the White House, and James Hodgkinson, representing "Terminate the Publican Party, shoots GOP reps, and Peter Fonda wants to rip Barron from his mother's arms to deliver him to pedophiles, and Kathy Griffin gleefully shows Trump's decapitated head--and we are the "deplorables"?
Is anyone not getting that the 'caged children' photo was from 2014 during Obama's reign? Or is your oppositional defiance leading you to assume that Trump must be responsible for the situation?
Pickering, you are such a pussy you're not even an effective troll.
Peter Fonda grew up in a Hollywood family, which surely employed Mexican servants who were living in the USA illegally and so were working cheaply.
Mexican servants cleaned young Peter Fonda's home and swimming pool and washed the Fonda family's clothing and dishes and car. Those servants were compensated with room and board and a little spending money.
The Fonda family's Mexican servants probably left their own children back in Mexico.
I would be interested in Peter Fonda's own description of how he himself grew up being served every day by poorly paid Mexican servants whose own children were left in Mexico.
----
Peter Fonda inherited the wealth of a famous movie star, and so he never had to work.
Peter Fonda himself went into the movie-making business, which employs practically no Hispanics, even though the business is headquartered in Southern California. In his own career, Peter Fonda never had to compete against any Hispanics -- who are not welcome in Hollywood's movie-making business.
----
Peter Fonda made one very successful movie -- Easy Rider. The movie's plot begins in Mexico, where illegal drugs are sold to a couple of Gringo drug-smugglers.
The movie depicts Mexico as a fountain of illegal drugs that are smuggled into the USA. The movie depicts Mexico as a place where practically no activity happens except selling illegal drugs to Gringo drug smugglers.

However, the Democrats have a political strategy to flip the Rust Belt's under-employed White laborers from voting for Trump back to voting for the Democrat candidate.
The strategy's main tactic for flipping those voters back is to advocate the establishment of sanctuary cities for illegal aliens.
Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) is reportedly considering using votes on President Trump’s appellate court nominees as a bargaining chip for demands on two separate issues.
CNN reported that Flake may block votes on the court nominations while he attempts to secure action on tariffs and travel restrictions to Cuba.
“We’re discussing it,” he told the network.
Flake is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, where Republicans hold a one-seat advantage over Democrats.
If Flake does not support the appellate nominees, it could compromise their nominations. Most judges are voted out of the committee along party lines.
However, Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) told CNN that he will not schedule votes on the judges until Flake has indicated he’ll support the nominees.
Grassley added that the Senate nominations calendar is full, and he does not feel pressured to vote on judges at this time. http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/393389-flake-threatens-to-hold-up-trump-court-nominees-report

Interesting interviews on NPR and CNN on the "non-profit" Southwest Key Shelters. This is the main contract provider of shelter facilities for border-crossing children involved in the recent controversy. Of course they are getting attention. Among other things about the high salaries the operators are paying themselves.
Not mentioned, however-
They were awarded the contracts in 2014, not by the Trump admin, and have been doing it ever since.
The Chairman, Juan Sanchez, is a long-time La Raza guy. He served on the National Council of La Raza board. As is (or was) everyone else on their board.
I.e., it was a leftover ethnic giveaway contract given to "friends and family" of the Democratic party.
Fake news at work: Newsweek headline screams "Donald Trump Threw Starburst Candies at Angela Merkel"! Sounds like an international incident, doesn't it?
Then the story says, "Trump was sitting there with his arms crossed, clearly not liking the fact that they were ganging up on him. He eventually agreed and said OK he’ll sign it. And at that point, he stood up, put his hand in his pocket, his suit jacket pocket, and he took two starburst candies out, threw them on the table and said to Merkel, ‘Here, Angela. Don’t say I never give you anything,’” Bremmer described to CBS.
So we move from an act of confectionary assault to one of semi-sarcastic generosity when the actual facts come out. Nice headline, Newsweek writer.
Over the course of a year, every spot on earth gets the same amount of daylight. It's just distributed differently depending on how far north or south you are of the equator. Today in Quito, Ecuador, the sun rises at 6:13 a.m. and sets at 6:19 p.m. That's the maximum difference in hours of day and night they get during the course of the year: Six minutes. How strange would it be to live in a place where you get 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night every day? In the northern polar regions, the sun doesn't set today, and six months from now at the winter solstice, it won't rise. Most of us live somewhere in between and see the daylight hours lengthen during summer and shorten during winter. And whatever you are used to having where you live is what you feel is normal. It's only when you travel someplace far away from home that you really notice the difference, when the sun rises or sets earlier or later than what seems normal.
I'd guess, offhand, that the north pole gets more, owing to spending more time at low sun angles, so spending more time being refracted from below the horizon.
John Pickering at 10:52 PM Trump is known to have gotten financing from Russians after several bankruptcies and rejection from any major western lender save DBK. Thanks for your evidence that President Trump is being blackmailed by Russians.
Clyde said every spot on earth gets the same amount of daylight. by 'same amount' you mean (i assume) total hours
The north pole might get the same total hours of sunlight (half of the year) as Quito; but it's getting nowhere near as much sunlight (in watts, say). The further north you go, the more slanty the sun gets. The further south you get, the higher in the sky the sun gets. Sun is MUCH warmer to an observer at noon, than at sunset.
but that would have been a lot to cram into clyde's report (which was interesting!), and it took me awhile to come up with 'total hours of sunlight'.
Let's let Ann's readers expatiate on the hilarious scene of the brown diapered lonely children in cages

I think "mute" in the Google context means that you can tell them don't send me ads from this place again (or ads like this). It's not literally about sound. The point is you can opt out of personalized service. See how that makes perfect sense?
Speaking of Adsense, I think that Google thinks I am a black woman. Or at least feels like it needed to serve up different ads featuring black models, who are certainly lovely enough, but we weren’t talking Rhianna type sexpots. Maybe it’s lost touch with me because I have turned to DuckDuckGo for almost all my searches and never use Chrome anymore. My ad sample set is small though, because I use Brave, which blocks most ads, so it’s just ads I see on my phone once in a while.
My ad blocker deprives me of so much internet experience.
The downside is that youtube clips freeze video after 23 minutes and audio somewhat later. You have to update the position to the current position every 23 minutes or less to get through a longer clip. But no ads.
Bay Area Guy: Doesn’t sound like a cult - sounds like mainstream middle America giving Trump the benefit of the doubt.

This is probably good practice. The progs I've seen who aren't sticking to the SOP (post approved filler and wait for the official talking points to come out) are having trouble maintaining minimum levels of coherence today.

Let the D's win in Nov 2018 - I think that's what the R Senators want anyway. They seem to dislike being in the majority and actually, y'know, doing things. Better to take the graft and make speeches.
In brief Mike, I said Ann doesn't care that trump may be a Russian agent, because her interests lie elsewhere, with her angry and frightened tribe.
Maybe you and trumpit could share a room in the lunatic asylum.
The foil is space blankets. There's a layer of insulation between two sheets of foil. It reflects heat back on both sides.
And they reall work. I reccomend people keep one with thier cars emergency kit.

If Trump was a Democrat, that same story would have been headlined "Trump Generously Shares Favorite Candy With Allies."

Trump is known to have gotten financing from Russians after several bankruptcies and rejection from any major western lender save DBK. He owes Russians lots of money, and his real estate has been a money-laundering bonanza. You know about the Putin kleptocracy and autocracy. The Russians don't get nothing for their money ...

Yep! the nights are getting longer now! WINTERS ON THE WAY!!
Let's let Ann's readers expatiate on the hilarious scene of the brown diapered lonely children in cages
I'm waiting for the tours myself. I've heard if you pay an extra fifty bucks they'll give you a stick you can use to poke at them through the bars of the cages.
That resentment might be why Peter Fonda so gleefully wished that bad things would happen to young Barron.
Or he could just be your typical Leftwing asshole.

It sure seems that way! And Republicans wonder why so many republicans hate them!
with her angry and frightened tribe.
I think if a dispassionate observer were to arrive here, he would say that someone is “angry and frightened,” but I bet it wouldn’t be who you think.
"So I wonder why that has to happen. Any ideas from the informed? especially how to turn off ads personalization across the web losing the ability to turn off ads blaring voices."
I think "mute" in the Google context means that you can tell them don't send me ads from this place again (or ads like this). It's not literally about sound. The point is you can opt out of personalized service. See how that makes perfect sense?
never to see each other again.
Where do you guys get this shit?
Speaking of Adsense, I think that Google thinks I am a black woman. Or at least feels like it needed to serve up different ads featuring black models, who are certainly lovely enough, but we weren’t talking Rhianna type sexpots. Maybe it’s lost touch with me because I have turned to DuckDuckGo for almost all my searches and never use Chrome anymore. My ad sample set is small though, because I use Brave, which blocks most ads, so it’s just ads I see on my phone once in a while.

That's OK, your posts will make it seem unending aa usual.
My ad blocker deprives me of so much internet experience.
The downside is that youtube clips freeze video after 23 minutes and audio somewhat later. You have to update the position to the current position every 23 minutes or less to get through a longer clip. But no ads.
Anyone else notice how much Inga's avatar looks like the "democratic socialist activist" Allison Hrabar who assaulted the DHS secretary?

Come to think of it, has anybody ever seen both of them in a room at the same time?
He eventually agreed and said OK he’ll sign it.
I thought he didn't sign it. Great story though.

Geezum BL, many, many of rhharden’s posts are extremely funny. I think you maybe should give his posts another chance.
Bay Area Guy: Doesn’t sound like a cult - sounds like mainstream middle America giving Trump the benefit of the doubt.
Ah, cut 'em some slack. This is just the standby "filler" they tend to put out when they're a bit confused by events and waiting for today's talking points to be packaged and shipped. The "cult" thing must have recycled again to the top of the "standby emergency pack" to be used during such lulls; many spottings in the wild the last 48 hours or so.
This is probably good practice. The progs I've seen who aren't sticking to the SOP (post approved filler and wait for the official talking points to come out) are having trouble maintaining minimum levels of coherence today.

She sure is.
