Too literal?

"Keepin' Out of Mischief Now" is the song Elvis Costello says he'd like played at his funeral.

Trying to find that bon mot is practically speaking the purpose of this rapid fire style interview. Elvis himself would wonder if the questions were submitted in advance. The whole thing may be a brilliant mistake but it was a fine idea at the time.

I want the adagio cantabile from Beethoven's Pathethique played at my funeral.

Put this one on my funeral play-list:
I'll be glad when you're dead, you rascal you

I want them to play 'Revolution Number Nine', but the orchestral version, because that'd be classy and shit.

I don't much care what they play at my funeral. I have no intention of attending. That's one social obligation I can ignore without fear of criticism or reprisal........Louis Armstrong isn't such a bad choice. He gets bigger and better every year. They say the four biggest male vocalists of the 20th century were Al Jolson, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis Presley. Louis Armstrong used to be pretty far down the list, and now he's ahead of all but Sinatra. Even in jazz, he was underrated. I think Coltrane and Miles Davis received more critical acclaim, but that's past. Armstrong was Michelangelo to their Basquait.

Well, shut my big brown rollin' eyes, there's no Fats Waller tag! (They're blue, actually. Am I blue? Am I blue?)

Too literal would be "I'm Not Angry (Anymore)"

Cuz there's no such thing as an original sin.

For both Elvis and McCain, David Bromberg should come out of retirement:

The Dyin' Crap Shooter Blues.

“Well, shut my big brown rollin' eyes, there's no Fats Waller tag! (They're blue, actually. Am I blue? Am I blue?)”

Elvis specified the Armstrong recording. I can see how my tagging seems hypocritical given what I’ve said about song identified as if thet were written by the performer.
