"It's not race-related like the media has speculated... I also enjoy laughing at the massive police presence that just simply cannot find or deanonymize me."
Wrote a Reddit user, claiming to be the Austin bomber. But he said he was "30-50 years old," so I guess he was just a random agent of chaos, since the Austin bomber who blew himself up as the SWAT team closed in was a 24-year-old man.
At first, I thought "deanonymize" was a bad misspelling of "demonize" and then the word "dean" dominated my thinking before I got to "-anonym-" and figured it out. Tech talk.

So he is a videogamer.
Well, he is trying to remain anonymous and throw off law enforcement, so of course he is going to lie about his age. But on the other hand, without more evidence that's it was really him, it could have been anybody. Reddit is like the poor man's CraigsList. << (Sorry, I can't ever stop with the jokes) Do we even know the guy killed was the bomber? It's kind of early...
Always remember that a high percentage of early news reports turn out to be wrong.
Law enforcement deanonymized the bomber pretty damn fast. Great word.
I heard he atomized himself.
Must dash.
That's a movie plot villain motivation, but he lacks the necessary villain skill.
More taunting was needed.
There's usually a spot for an older actress doing a determined police detective in these things.
And you are amplifying this asshole's voice, giving him the notoriety he desired.
Don't divulge his name. Undeanonymize him. Later some investigator can dis-undeanonymize him. As for me, I'm antidisundenonymizationist. The Germans probably have a word for it.

Great job of parsing! I didn't give enough of a shit to start figuring it out.
Althouse repeats fake news to assure us that the bombings are not race related.
Rh, all TV detectives are female now. And if they're not, their boss is and younger than they are.
@tcrosse - if we don’t give his name, then we won’t be able to label him conveniently based on his social media presence.
Latest report is that they used his taunt to figure out who he was, and he blew himself up in his car when the police tried to arrest him.
Of course if I was writing a Hollywood screenplay he’d be an innocent, randomly-chosen person whose account was hacked, and the bomb with remote detonator was planted in the car. But that Lt. Columbo would ask “just one more question, ma’am” and the whole plot would unravel.
Geraldo Rivera was speculating that this guy targeted Austin because it is liberal. Pure speculation. Speculation is a form of preporting.
(Spell check hasn't yet learned that preporting is a real word; invented by Althouse.)
... that pesky Lt. Columbo ...

If you haven't watched much TV lately, maybe you don't know about the unwritten rule that the top cop on a show should be a woman. Maybe that's part of an affirmative action plan.
I threw out the TV in 1971, so missed for example all of Archie Bunker and the following.
"I want to watch the world burn."
Doesn't everybody?
Mr. Special should set fire to a globe or something.
After these horrible incidents, can anyone seriously question the need for bomb registration?

The computer expert/hacker is also female, and the criminals are white men.
"White men" above links to an NBC article which mentions the bomber's race in the second sentence - no doubt because the "AP Stylebook" says not to mention race unless it's relevant and also because "when the suspect is found or apprehended, the update says, the racial reference should be removed." (From "Poynter")
CNN has this today: "Police said the suspect, a 24-year-old white male, identified as Mark Anthony Conditt... was responsible for the bombings" that killed a "39-year-old African-American man...", killed another "African-American", and wounded a "A 75-year-old Hispanic woman", followed by "On March 18, a fourth bomb blew up and injured two men". Other reports say the two men injured were white, but apparently their ethnicity wasn't deemed newsworthy by CNN's Ray Sanchez.
CNN postported his name.
“Other reports say that the two men injured were white, but apparently their ethnicity wasn’t deemed newsworthy by CNN’s Ray Sanchez.”
Yes, it is clear from MSM coverage that “white” is no longer a race, it is a stain.
The comments on the NYT coverage are remarkable in two ways: The commenters pretend that the MSM is reluctant to recognize white males as domestic terrorists when it is the MSM that created and promulgated that meme. The hatred of white males is palpable.
Obviously, their hatred does not extend to lefty elites and their minions whose white maleness goes unremarked. It is reserved for us rednecks.
The habitual consumers of the NYT, WaPo, CNN and MSNBC have evidently been reduced to a single bigoted, delusional circle jerk.
Blogger Beloved Commenter AReasonableMan said...”Althouse repeats fake news to assure us that the bombings are not race related.”
Yes, of course. While delusional pinheads hold to the conviction that anytime a black is injured or disadvantaged it is a result of racism, unless of course the injury or disadvantage is caused by another black, which the former usually are. In those cases racism is only a factor. Guns are the cause.
@ARM: Why would Althouse assure us that the bombings are not race-related?
Only lefties believe that the motives of a single nutcase can be woven into a cogent political argument. For Althouse and the mentally stable commenters here, his motives are only a matter of momentary interest. Of course, if he was a member of an international political cult responsible for terrorist attacks worldwide while shouting “Allahu akbar,” leftists would have only momentary interest in his motives and would deem any greater interest “race related”, although a cult is not a race.
Makes perfect sense, doesn’t it.

Why would Althouse assure us
Why did she need to stretch so hard for something that would?
ARM:
Because she’s a closet racist;
Because we’re all closet racists;
Because she and we are part of a humongous conspiracy to cover up the fact that anything “bad” that happens to a person of color is a result of racial prejudice.
Choose any of the above or, in your case, it might work better to choose “all of the above.”
I didn’t include: Because the “jumped to” conclusions by the MSM and your ilk are not supported by the whole of the facts and Althouse is interested in media bias, or because the ultra-liberal NY Daily News thought it was notable. No need to cause you cognitive dissonance. LOL.
Jordan Peterson is doing his best to reach men like this and turn their view of the world around, give their life meaning and prevent them from becoming so nihilistic that they just "want the world to burn."
"Althouse repeats fake news to assure us that the bombings are not race related. "
She quoted someone from Reddit who may or may not have been the bomber. Does that assure you that it's not race related? It doesn't assure me. We don't know the motive yet.
Why quote some random anonymous person on Reddit, whose relationship, if any, to the bomber was unkown at the time?
I don’t think the Reddit guy is the guy so how could I be seen as endorsing his bullshit.
Come on. Use reason.
I don’t like giving real murderers attention.
Of all the aspects of this story to focus on why focus on the the least likely to be true? Reason suggests that elucidating the facts of the case is not a primary goal.
